We visited the Brewery and pub for the first time for the AYCE crab legs. Let me tell you they were some of the best we have ever had. Our server Kiera was absolutely adorable and provided top notch service all night. Most places make you wait forever for refills on the crab legs....but definitely not at the Blue Heron. I was disappointed they were out of the IPA Hazy wife Hazy life but the did have a 4 pack I was able to take home for only $16.I have paid literally twice that at other breweries. I definitely cannot say enough about this place we have been there for other functions like their Brewers Christmas beer fest and the best New Year's Eve party we've ever been to in their grand ballroom. I hope they have both again this year. The ambiance of the grand ballroom is just spectacular. read more

Outoftowners here! For sure, an elevated bar food experience! The Barbacoa nachos and House Smoked Ribs were delicious. Had a house salad and Bavarian pretzel also; both were perfect! Wow great experience overall for the local area. Gorgeous exterior. Great play area for kids if you're out on the patio. Three of us at the table got a mahi mahi sandwich which was tasty. Their Caesar salad comes with anchovies as an official Caesar should!! I really respect that about places and in the Medina area, food is not known as the most adventurous. Beers were great, servers were attentive and patient and friendly. They had etch a sketch's and a kids toy cart when you walk in to the brewery to buy parents a few moments of peace (maybe) Why is there a Sasquatch next to the pergola outside? They have a great patio in the summer! Service is always friendly and fast. The peanut butter pie is to die for !! My favorite thing ever. Please get this!! It's also big enough to split between 2-4 people. The food is good food, usually no complaints. The chicken is always good and so are the apps. The burgers aren't super juicy but they are big. A 3 dressed up as a 9. You're only.....wasting my time. Slow service on a slow day. We were not given a table outside, even though it wasn't busy. It was very cool indoors. Only 1 ladies toilet stall in the whole place. The breakfast egg role sounded good on paper, but it was miserable. The Bloody Mary was nice. It was good & spicy. Our server was friendly, but spread too thin. He had to double as a bartender. No wonder our food took so long. I'm just not sold on this place. read more

Had lunch there today as we have many times in the past. always excellent food and service! as we entered by the hostess you could hear someone laughing so loud it was more of a cackle than a laugh and very startling. as we were seated this obnoxious very loud laughter continued and we realized it was coming from the bar maid. People at other tables were looking, talking about her and chuckling softly. A manager was in and out of the room each time we were hoping he would say something. unfortunately he did not. it really put a damper on our visit and it was difficult to have a conversation. My husband was not impressed with the plastic igloo lol You DO have to hit a certain price point when booking/renting the igloo before complete check out. So check into that prior to visit if interested. Info listed on the website or the manager was super nice & helpful when calling in. We also dined in the "igloo" during the day. It is heated. I do think it would be cooler at night all lit up & dining in a there or just drinks. Some have tables & chairs & others have "lounge" setup. Wouldn't recommend igloo for daytime. Our food wasn't amazing. I got the salmon & actually didn't eat any of it. It got taken off of our bill. My husband had a burger & it was okay. The appetizer we had looked like an egg roll & it was yummy! Make sure you get the PB Pie for desert if you dine here! Best PB Pie I've had at a restaurant in awhile. read more

Blue Heron, south of Cleveland, is more than a brewery but it also has an events center. THIS REVIEW is for their events center because I don't drink alcohol so I know nothing about their brewery. EVENTS CENTER -- I attended a wedding at the EVENTS CENTER on a Saturday in the middle of October 2023. They have more than one events center because while I was in line to enter my friend's wedding reception venue, I saw a few people who were looking for another wedding so I had to tell them that they were in line for the wrong wedding. WEDDING -- The wedding that I attended was fun. My friend Melanie got married The small ceremony (about 75 people) was held outside while the reception was held inside. The bride and groom stood behind a pond and flowers were decorated above them. Inside the reception hall, there were tables and chairs set up were dinner was served. There was a section at the center for dancing all night long. Our dining experience at Blue Heron was good! The food was timely and tasty, ambiance was comfortable, and management is especially proficient. The only barrier from a five star review came in the form of one waiter with a receding hairline and starter studs, who asked for certain IDs when our table was ordering drinks based on subjectivity and looks. An insensitive comment was made to myself and my friend; he said "She doesn't look young, but SHE does" A bit after me not being able to provide ID because I did not have my wallet, he proceeded to accuse me of sipping someone else's drink and threatened to take it away. Upon backlash from our table, he remarked that someone had been watching me to make sure I hadn't sipped any drinks. This made me extremely uncomfortable, like I was being watched. I don't believe any of this waiter's behavior is a good standard of conduct as far as professionalism. I have never had a problem with trying others' drinks at restaurants. Regardless, I Am 21, so there was not a real issue in the first place. Once management got involved, the situation was diffused immediately and we received abundant compensation for the bother, like free drinks and an extra entree to take home! Food was fantastic. The beers were also delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. The only down side is the place is not super wheelchair accessible. The parking spots are narrow making it hard to get the chair between cars and person from car to chair. The bathroom was extremely hard to mange with the chair. It has so many tight turns and then a garbage can that blocked the stall. Even getting out of the bathroom was tough cause we had to go back in the stall, hit the can again and back out hitting the doors and walls. read more

We enjoyed a delightful family dinner on the patio and took full advantage of their happy hour specials, including 3 appetizers for $25 and great drink deals. My kids devoured the homemade mac and cheese--definitely a step up from the usual boxed kind! I had the cheese tortellini, while my husband enjoyed a delicious burger. I am rating this based on the igloo experience, as I have not dined here another way. I'd give it a 3.5 if that was a choice. Service was excellent - our server was perfect. The igloo was a little cold as the only heat source was two small space heaters. The lighting inside was odd too - made it hard to see. They did decorate it festively for Valentine's Day though, which was cute. There was a $25 fee to reserve the igloo, which we thought would come off of the bill but were told when paying that is a flat fee so just FYI. Food came out really quickly and our server was very sweet. The food quality itself was a little lacking for the price. Our party ordered the truffle and cheese dip appetizer, wagyu burger with upgrade to fries, salmon, and Asian noodle bowl. The dip was delicious, but the chips that came with it were stale. The burger was overly salty, and the veggies that came on the noodle bowl were clearly frozen before and were soggy and watery. The noodles themselves were good but nothing to write home about. I am told the salmon was really good though. All in all a bit disappointed, but I would give them another try and eat inside or outside on the patio when it warms up outside. I had the pleasure of dining here last week while in town for business. It was a beautiful evening so we sat outside on the patio. Beautiful setting on what was once a country club. Service was great. I ate light with a strawberry salad with grilled chicken. Very good. The table split a heaping helping of peanut butter pie. It was delicious and quite large. They are known for this. I tried their Pilsner which was light and refreshing. On Wednesday they have all you can eat crab legs. I didn't partake but many were. Great spot. read more

We had the Short Rib Nachos as an appetizer. Short rib meat was very tender. Two people in our group ordered the Asian Noodle Bowl and raved about it. I had the Bacon Beef Burger. After following this place for awhile I was finally able to visit. Reservations are a must and often fill up on the weekends. We were able to get a table on the patio while the band was playing. The building itself is very grand and the patio was nice. I felt like the food didn't live up to the expectations. We tried the pretzel appetizer. I thought it would be homemade but it was from a freezer. Our first one was still cold inside and we had to send it back. The cheese sauce was good but spicy and the cinnamon butter was good. They also have a mustard sauce. I asked for all of the dips but did not get it. They have kids meals for $5. We tried a flat bread pizza and chicken nuggets. They came with fries, chips or vegetable. I also tried the Mac n cheese with meat on top. It was spicy as well and the meat was dry. Service was average. The location is at the end of a housing development and there is a nice park next store that you can walk trails. read more

Dined here for the first time with a party of 20 for a long weekend, Lions vs Browns. The food was great and outshined the service. Our waiter Seemed overwhelmed with the size of the party and 2 tables. He was blunt and almost rude at times - sorry if the group was too large, bud! However, back to the food or main course. The meats were cooked to perfection. The seasoning on everything was almost perfect. Best of all, their ginger soy vinaigrette was the BEST I have ever had. So good that I had to get some to go! I would like to stop back in dine in the dinning area or bar to see if the service would be more friendly! Really nice atmosphere on the dog friendly patio. They are doing nice additions outside, playset for kids. Great friendly service. They have daily specials. We tried a few appetizers like wings, chicken flatbread and quesadilla -the chicken quesadilla was our favorite of them all. The flatbread was pretty plain not much toppings. The wagyu burger was ok, again not much jam or onion straws. Popular place you can tell by how many people were here. Nice building and property from what I could see, still too cold to sit outside. Service wasn't bad. So really the reason for the 2 stars is just the lack luster food. Maybe I'm a food snob but when the best thing you tasted out of 3 appetizers and a meal is the pretzel...that's not really going to do it for me. Tried the caprese flat bread, mediocre at best. The fries with meat and guac and i dont even know what else, weird combo in my opinion and nothing I wanted more then a bite of. The pretzel was what you would expect from a jumbo pretzel...hard to mess that one up. Had the Blue Herron burger with chips, it was okay nothing I'd get again or recommend.
