I can't tell you how disappointed in the last car purchase I made here. It was August of last year. I bought a 2012 Prius V with approximately 100K miles, decent shape, exterior in good shape. Three mechanics have told me it won't pass New York inspection because of severe rust throughout the frame. To replace the Master Cylinder and brakes would cost me at least $4000. The car is totaled and I'm out $9000. Should I have had my mechanic check it before I paid cash for it? Absolutely - but in all previous experiences I have never had a problem. We had the best experience at this dealership. The vehicle was very reasonably priced, and in fantastic shape for a vehicle that old (2012). It had VERY little rust, ran great, looked really nice, and had all kinds of little extras (heated leather seats, sun roof, etc.) We've owned it since Nov. 2025 and have had zero problems with it. I bought my 1st car 40 years ago and I have never had such an enjoyable and easy car buying experience as I had with Elliot and TJ at Ridge Road Imports! Elliott is refreshingly honest, friendly, and his prices are reasonable. He cares about doing right by his customers. The cars he sells are in excellent used condition. He helps you find the right car for you, not the most expensive car on the lot, and I think certain other dealers in the area (Maguire) could learn some things from him. Ridge Road Imports in Lansing also features a service station in the back. My experience with this establishment is only with the service station. Ridge Road Repair is the best in the area. They are the friendliest group of guys I have ever met. Sometimes, I would get there early to pick up my car, and I would end up getting in a great conversation about music. Anyway.... their service and prices are excellent. Anytime anything went wrong with my car, or I heard a funny noise, they would fit me into their busy schedules and check it out for me (sometimes while I waited). Ridge Road Repair earned my complete trust. I no longer live in the area, but every time my car needs service, I wish I lived closer so I could take it to them. read more

Great vehicle purchase experience. From the time we came in to check out another vehicle, the atmosphere was relaxed, and unlike any other car sales environment I'd ever been part of. We changed our minds a few times, and drove a few cars, on different days. No pressure. Because of the cold weather, the vehicles were always pulled into the garage for our examination. Nice touch. When we finally decided on the vehicle we wanted to buy, a minor problem was discovered. Although all parties involved understood the issue to be minor, RRI would not sell us (or even negotiate) the car until it was deemed perfect. We even were able to meet and discuss with their VW/AUDI/Porsche certified technician who would be addressing the problem. I am very pleased that I made the drive to check out Ridge Road Imports in Lansing. I am from Corning and had been searching for a car for a few months. I knew what I wanted but didn't like any of the models that I test drove. I found Ridge Road Imports online and liked their inventory. When I arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The car I was interested in looked better in person than online. I was greeted with friendly staff and was test driving with in minutes. Elliot and Ray were wonderful to work with. Their mechanics are incompetent at best and most likely simply lying frauds. Do not go there for repairs. You will be told of a problem that you most likely do not have, will be charged for unnecessary repairs and at the end will be told to go to the dealer. This happened to me with check engine light on my Subaru. They charged me for an oxygen sensor. 1 week later check engine light came back. They told me it is the 2nd oxygen sensor and charged me for replacing it. 1 week later the light came back on. Running out of oxygen sensors to change, they told me it was just dirt and charged me $45 for diagnosis. 1 week later the light came back on. This time, knowing that I will not pay them again, they told me to take my car to the dealer since they can do nothing. Thus, all of the wasted time and close to $600 in oxygen sensors repairs was unnecessary. I am sure they will try to reply with some excuse that makes them look honest. Do not believe them. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

What can I say...I bought my 1996 F150 from Ridge Road Imports and I can honestly say that Ray and Elliot made every effort to ensure my happiness with the truck. Other than photos off their website and those that Elliot sent to me, I bought the truck and paid for it without even driving it. I'm more than 5 hours away from these guys. I had to rent a car, drive through the night and show up first thing as they opened for bushiness on Saturday to pick it up. After looking for a used Subaru in a specific price range, I happened upon RRI and Elliott. From the moment I spoke to him to the moment I drove away with my purchase, I have never felt more comfortable with buying a car. Elliott was friendly, straight forward, honest and never made me feel as i had in many places being a female alone trying to buy a car!! One month after I bought the car I was planning a cross-country, 1600 mile drive across the country. I brought the car back to RRI to have them look at the brakes because I didn't like the way they "felt" and sounded and to also make sure my car was road-ready for such a long trip. Shaun, their main mechanic, said the front brakes were starting to wear, but in order to give me peace of mind driving such a distance, he would change the brakes...at no cost! While I waited for the brakes to be installed (I live 35 minutes from Lansing) Ray, the owner, came over to ask if I was satisfied with my car purchase thru them and if there was anything else they could do for me.
