I had purchased a brand new 2024 Nissan Sentra at Maguire Nissan of Ithaca, located in Lansing, NY in August of '24. A week ago, I had my winter tires changed to my all-season tires, and went grocery shopping afterwards. When I got home, I noticed a scuff mark all along the body of my car. Thinking this may have happened at the dealership, I immediately drove back. I spoke to the General Manager, Brian Vorhis, who reviewed my video taped visit. It showed me driving away in an unscathed car. He said that it appears that while I was shopping, someone recklessly hit the side of my car with their shopping car. Since my car insurance has a $500.00 deductible, Brian suggested that it might be wise for me to stop by Maguire Chevrolet Cadillac Body Shop next door before involving my car insurance, to get an estimate of cost repair there first. I took his advice, and dealt with Edward Rogers, the Body Shop Manager. This gentleman took a look at the damage, and immediately said that it appears that the paint was scraped off, he would like to see if he can buff it out. And, amazingly, it worked! When I thanked him profusely, Mr. Rogers said "I always do the right thing by our customers", and refused any payment. Truck was at the body shop for repair and ended up with a new dent from maguires parking it next to a scrap dumpster. They didnt fix it, they cleaned my truck half-ass and in the process broke my floor mat holder on the driver side. The door they repaired leaks air into the cabin and has a constant whistling noise when driving. I found glue in my driver side mirror from them trying to fix there piss poor job. They most definitely broke the mirror in the process of swapping it. This company does nothing for there customers and dont own there mistakes. Shop looks like the work they put out. Terrible. Went with my son and as they were talking about the Extended Warranty, I gave my opinion of saying not to get it. Katie, Assistant Sales Manager, looked at me and said "Are you going to help him pay for repairs then? Took that as a snotty comment and basically none of her business. She talks too fast and when he was going thru the agreement with Victor, she went over and started scrolling it for him, bypassing paragraphs. She had her coat and purse in her hand so obviously she was ready to go home. They didn't have the Title when he went back to pick up the truck. The truck already needed a full transmission flush when he brought it back within a month of the purchase. Oil was low...why didn't they notice that when they did the flush? Now, the headlights just decide to turn off when driving at night. Even a local business said not to go there. I guess it's a known thing.... read more

Bought a new van in 2017. In 2019 the headliner flooded due to leaky seals (all of them) to the point that water was dripping into cupholders. The body shop dried it out, replaced the seals, and sent me on my way. They DIDNT tell me that a flooded vehicle actually had to be totaled. Nor did they check the wiring which was also flooded. In fact, I only just learned, today, that they should have totaled the vehicle as it is now potentially dangerous to drive. Two years later, the drivers window was intermittently pausing. I told them it seemed electrical in nature but they refused to look into that. They wanted me to buy a motor for it for $1500. Then the climate control knob burned off. I told them to check the electrical, as only electrical current could cause the knob to burn like that. They said no...it was all just a coincidence. I had to buy a whole new climate control system. Then I noticed that the dome light receptacle was burned. Again, they said it couldn't be electrical. But when the van stranded me on the side of the road for loss of power, the first thing they checked was the electrical. Yes, the grounding strap that is also associated with the dome light, climate control, and window had to be replaced. So if they had just checked the electrical system, maybe the problem could have been solved by replacing that grounding strap instead of me spending thousands on replacements. Just FIY...Im fairly certain that the airbag is ALSO at risk because it may also be on that same grounding strap. That's a future accident waiting to happen. Im also fairly certain that if they had just either totaled the vehicle like they supposedly should have, or at least confirmed that all of the circuits were in good condition and not impacted by the flood...well, this wouldn't even be a conversation. Do they just not care that people get hurt in vehicles that are defective? What if it was their own family driving it? Bet they might do the right thing if that were the case. But where the almighty dollar is at stake...nothing is beneath them. read more

I just purchased a new to me Chevy Bolt EV from Maguire Chevrolet of Ithaca. After talking to salesman Nick Vohris for a few minutes and him asking questions about my driving habits, he suggested I think about the Chevy Bolt EV which is all electric. We went on the test drive and I knew that was the car for me! It drives like a dream and it is super cute! I couldn't be happier with the car, Nick or Maguire Chevrolet of Ithaca. We took our car in more than two weeks ago for a recall. While our warranty will cover the repairs, they've kept our car this whole time (it's a safety issue), and did not give us a loaner vehicle. They also said that they would not reimburse us for a rental. We have no other vehicle and have to commute to work. Every time we call to ask about the progress they tell us that there are no updates. I know the issues at Chevy corporate are not this particular dealership's fault, but we haven't received any help or support in the last two weeks, and we have no transportation. read more

Don't come!!!!!!!!!!!!! the customer service here is terrible!!!!!! The director of service called Don shocked me with his terrible customer service and bad patience! Before I ordered something from them, he looks nice and helpful. After Finishing the service, he charged me extra money which is different with what he told me last time. And I ask them for explains toon. He told me he doesn't care what I said and he doesn't care if I call to complain. I argued with him and he said: "I don't want to listen to you! Pay or we keep the car" I am pretty shocked and confused how this kind of person can be a customer service director. Their desks are patient and nice though. My solstice had a bad AC compressor, a broken bumper, and the top had a tensioner whose plastic tensioner tab was broken. When I came in I also thought the transmission was bad and needed fixing, but they fixed the AC first and then figured out that was the cause of the problem and saved me a bunch of money. They also fixed the top for free. The new bumper looks great. I wish all dealerships were this good. Doug and Ed were both a pleasure to work with and walked me through my options and gave great advice. read more

Great service. Traveled from Boston and had a check engine light on. I dropped the car off on Saturday am and maguires diagnosed the issue and notified me within an hour. Unfortunately they didn't have the part but they comped the service and let me know what part was needed so I could have it fixed when I returned home. Excellent dealership ! read more

I brought my vehicle into the service department to be diagnosed with a transmission issue. I was shocked when they came back with a quote of over $4,000 to fix it. The Genuine GM part is only $322.40 (I understand doubling a part but they quoted me $2,111.14 for the part. That is ABSURD AND NOT OK BY ANY MEANS!!! They also quoted $1,800.00 for labor. Again, I get it's labor intense to replace this part but this entire quote was beyond ridiculous!!! I contacted a local transmission shop who said it would be anywhere from $1,100 to 1,200 to do the entire job. That includes, labor, parts and tax. I'm not sure how the owner can be ok with taking advantage of people but I find it very disturbing. I highly suggest that you NEVER take your vehicle to their rip off service department!!!! read more

Ed in the body shop made my experience so wonderful. Ruby was also very accommodating in scheduling my appointment. I was hit by a car while parked and brought my car here for some body work. I was very concerned, and I'm finicky, but they did an excellent job. Everything they fixed looked like new and my car actually looked much better than it had looked before it was hit. (Besides one VERY small detail that I was not 100% happy with that they immediately offered to fix and explained why it was tricky.) When I received my car back, it was shining inside and out. The interior actually looked better than the last time I had my car detailed (elsewhere) even though they only performed and charged for exterior work. Everything they did, they did 110%. In addition, they fixed multiple exterior small things on the car "while they were at it" without charging me (even though I offered several times because they said it was very easy for them) OR the insurance company (which they could have easily done and I think it's very upstanding of them not to charge the insurance company as much as possible) They are so honest, generous, and hard-working and I truly appreciate their kindness. read more

I went into Maguire Chevrolet in May 2013 because I had some repairs needed on my car... new hood and bumper new tires.. The staff was friendly and nice - I'll give them that. But I'm giving them 1 star because it's only now that I realize the quality of work was incredibly sub-par.. When I got my car back in May I noticed that my (NEW) tires look liked they didn't have enough air in them. When I asked the guys about whether the appropriate amount of air was in my tires they said "yes of course" and brushed it off. The car had been in the shop for several days so I was happy to finally get it back and drive home. When I got home I checked the pressure of my tires and they were at 26psi when they should have been at 30psi.. no big deal but since these are low profile tires a couple pounds make a big difference and I spent $1 to fill with air. Annoying. Then I noticed my new hood (with new paint job) had scuffs and scrapes in various places that looked like people were shuffling around the vehicle before it dried.. Again.. not the biggest deal but somehow I expected a flawless finish. Here's the kicker: This winter I've been having more trouble getting around in the snow than in previous winters. The tires I buy are all-season and have done well in past snow storms but I thought maybe my car was getting old.. a couple days ago I got a non-repairable flat tire and I took it to another auto shop that could order my specific tires and have them in the next day. After my car was brought in to have the new tire put on.. a mechanic came out to tell me that "whoever put your tires on the last time put them on backwards". (?!?!?!?!?!) WHAT?! put them on BACKWARDS? I told him that I wasn't surprised and he took them off and flipped them around the right way for no charge (thank you!). Unfortunately I'll never go to Maguire Chevrolet or recommend them to anyone - they had my car for 3 days and whoever was "qualified enough" to get a job there WASN'T qualified enough to make sure to put tires on the correct way. Apparently I wasn't getting any traction in the snow all winter! No wonder I was sliding around. DO NOT take your car into Maguire unless you want to double check every single thing they did in case someone in the shop didn't have enough coffee that day. Car tires are serious business - defective tires could cost you your life! I can't believe a an autoshop thats associated with a major DEALER managed to let me leave with tires placed backwards. I'm just thankful I hadn't had to come to a short stop this winter because I wouldn't have been able to if the roads were slick! Avoid this place. They don't do their job. read more
