I was told 3 times that what wanted done would cost $95 dollars: when I dropped it off, when I spoke to them (because they were going to have to use an off brand replacement part) and when I went to pick it up. Three different people told me $95. but..... as the guy told me, we owed him $95 , he got up and left the cash register, the mechanic came over to the registered and increased the invoice to $175. Ridgeline (formerly Ken's) is keeping the legacy of great bike shops in the Treasure Valley alive and well. The first thing you'll notice at this shop is a great focus on customer service. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. As of Sept 2020 it's pretty tough to find bikes in stock but this shop had a good supply considering and also a stock of accessories to outfit your new ride. They also carry skis which I believe is a new product for this spot. They have some great technology to analyze your size & body frames to help get you the perfect fit for your bike, shoes, or saddle. The only downside I would say is the store itself needed some organization, it's a bit of a smaller space & there was stuff kind of all over the place which made it hard to navigate and keep physical distance from other customers at times. Overall a great shop with awesome staff. Location is perfect if you're in the South Boise area off of Overland and 5 Mile. Would recommend this spot for your bike and ski needs! read more

Our search for a particular brand of bike led us to Ridgeline; we placed a phone order and had it shipped out of state. What we received was a half-assembled order, with missing parts. In addition, the order was not packed correctly and there was lots of damage--scraped paint, torn saddle, broken reflectors--just about every part had some kind of damage. And the promised owners manual and receipts were missing. Rather than work with us, the folks at Ridgeline blamed everything on shipping (this was not possible) and refused to help solve the problem. We had to get our credit card company involved and after reviewing pages of our documentation they found Ridgeline at fault and refunded our money. This spoiled our feelings about the purchase so we donated our Ridgeline order to a community bicycle shop who could make the repairs, and we purchased a different brand from a local store. Overall, it was an unpleasant and unfortunate experience. read more

Took a Townie bike there to have the fender fixed and new brake pads. Fender rattled on the ride home. Carrier on the rear was unattached to the seat and feel off the rear. This shop really knows how to take care of their customers and I'm extremely happy with my experience at Ken's. I've been to a lot of shops and I would definitely recommend this one. While I'm a big mountain biker and cyclist, I actually went there to inquire about their ski leasing program because I wanted to get set up for the season for an affordable price. I figured $150 for the whole season was a pretty good price. Turns out they had a great sale going (buy one item, get a second 50% off) so I ended up getting a nice used pair of Dynastar skis (including bindings) and new pair of Head boots for just over $400 and I couldn't be happier with the set up! The thing that sets this shop aside from many others was their no pressure, friendly atmosphere and willingness to help you out even after they closed. Yes, I was that guy! Unfortunately I had arrived only 30 minutes before they closed and had no intentions of buying skis that day, but after seeing what they had to offer I decided to purchase the whole set up. I told Ken and another employee not to worry about setting it up then and I can come back tomorrow, but they assured me it wasn't a problem and they stayed late getting me set up to head to mountain the next day! Needless to say it was a big powder day and I had an awesome day thanks to them! I am extremely pleased with the service I received at Ken's Bicycle Warehouse and will be going back their for service and future products (bike or ski related)! 5 stars! read more

Ken's bike shop is awesome. They're always down to earth & practical in their recommendations and very reasonable with their prices and turn-around times. Took my downhill bike in to get quite a bit of maintenance done. I Was happy with the options I was given and the reasons why. The representative knew exactly what I wanted to get out of my bike & even "tried" giving me more affordable options even though I went the more expensive route for a few performance parts. They were even able to expedite my maintenance appointment when I called in (with a fair amount of time's heads up)and discovered I needed my bike before I left town and it wasn't going to originally be done until I was out of town. I am disappointed with my recent service at Ken's. They installed a component onto my bike that was not what we agreed on, and without communicating the change. They added tubes and flat stop that I did not want or ask for, so I had to buy new tubes on top of the ones I didn't want in the first place because riding with flat stop makes the bike handle poorly at higher speeds (riding back down bogus) And most aggravating did not tune the shifting on the bike. so it drops the chain, and will not shift into the top gear up front. I had to take the bike to another shop to make it usable. I will not return to this business until they turn things around. They used to be great, but save yourself the trouble and go to George's or IMT. read more

Only needed new tires for an old road bike, but Ken's had the right selection of 27 inch tires when a lot of places carry only the high-end Armadillos, the low-end no-namers, or none at all. At Kens, I was able to pick from the mid-range tires that the internets recommended. The staff was great and did the job quickly and met Ken on my way out -- reinforces my theory that people in Boise are the nicest, ever. As a bonus for work by boss got me a really nice Specialized mtb, so nice I needed a professional build. I'm also pretty new to mountain biking so I had a lot of questions about all the fancy things this bike came with. Cody at Ken's was enthusiastic and helped with all my questions. He also recommended some great additions to the bike to help keep safe, like inserts to protect the carbon wheels. Never any pushy sales though. Turn around on the build was fast and the bike is dialed in, even with everything being new and not stretched and worn in yet. The store has an amazing selection of Specialized mountain and road bikes with everything from entry level to super expensive carbon framed bikes. All the accessories you could want, wheels, helmets, shoes, etc. They also sell Cycleops smart trainers and have a zwift demo going. read more

These people are clueless. I would bet this is the first time the new owners have ever done anything customer service related. Customer service is non existent. It's like these people get hired because they know someone or are family. Do you really need 12 workers on a Tuesday or Thursday?? Not one of the flock of employees acted like they wanted to help us. It was all an inconvenience to them. If you hired 4 quality employees, you wouldn't need 12 to pick up the slack. We miss the days that Ken actually owned this shop! We were customers for a very long time, now we drive downtown to have anything worked on. read more

Worst customer service ever. I have been a customer for years and just recently bought a pair of tires from them. Put the tires on my bike and within 3.5 miles I had a blowout. Thinking maybe I made a mistake or ran over something, I bought more tubes to replace the damaged one, I was in the process of putting the wheel back on the bike when the second tube blew on it's own. I was curious why it blew the new tube but decided to replace it anyway to get the bike going. Replaced with the third tube and got everything back together and the wheel on and the bike is on the hanger when I hear the tube blew again and this time it blew a hole in the tire. Took the tire back and they won't let me just return the tires even though it is obvious the tire was defective. The associate who was helping me said he would file a claim with Specialized and let me know. He never called me and I had to either go to the store or call him multiple times and every time it was obvious he did not check on the claim or updates because he kept having to look things up. Specialized finally agreed to replace the tire but I'm out 3 tubes as well which they won't replace and I have to wait for the tire to be sent from specialized which will be another week or so. Kicker, he said he'll call me when it get here. I'm not holding my breath on that one. This was my third bike purchase and can't even say how many parts. No more. I'm all about helping out the local small business but from now will take my business somewhere else. Very disappointed in how they treated me. You don't screw your loyal customer over a tube or tire replacement. In my opinion they should have replaced the tire and tube and figured out the warranty issues. For now every time I see the bike hanging on the rack waiting for the tire, I get a little more pissed off at my experience with them. Update: My tire came in on 7/15 and Tyler called me promptly this time. He also offered to put it on and gave me an extra tube to replace the ones I lost. I really appreciate the gesture. These guys are great. I came into the store looking for a bike about 15min before they closed. They stayed open and helped me out and even helped set up the financing. This wasn't even the most impressive part. During the process a nasty storm had descended on the area.Ken and his employee hung out for another 15 or more min.while the storm passed. They could have just pushed me out the door but they didn't. They also know there stuff and are very knowledgeable, with a great selection of bikes. Went on a ride and messed up the gears (from a very hard fall) and they fixed it in no time which is why I was inclined to write this review. I was in Ridgeline and really wanted to try an Arbor Snowboard. I got a demo and took it to the mountain. I have been snowboarding for just over 20 years and have been mostly on Burton. Avoid. Charged me a 20% restocking fee on a shoe that they carried, but had to order in my size. According to their Specialized size chart, I ordered the correct size. The shoes didn't fit when they got here. Never said anything about a restocking fee, if they didn't fit, when they took my money. Plus, they didn't tell me they were backordered when I purchased them. Slimy tactics like this will keep me from ever coming back and recommending my friends not shop there. read more
