    Cream Cheese King Cake
    Ghiya A.

Treme Kitchen is a staple in my household! Every holiday we order a little something sweet! For Christmas at home we ordered the Rum Cake Mini's. They were perfectly moist, buttery, with the perfect balance of sweet, salty crunchy and rummy! For my coworkers I always order a couple dozen original pralines as Christmas goodies to accompany my Christmas cards. They are always a hit! My coworkers always remind me weeks before that they'll be looking for their pralines! My personal favorite pralines are the chocolate! For Twelfth Night we ordered a King Cake to bring in Mardi Gras season! Although King Cake is not my favorite dessert in general, I ordered to see how it held up to New Orleans' king cake bakeries. It was 20x better! The icing was soft creamy and the perfect balance of sweetness. The Cake itself was soft and doughy with cream cheese bites throughout. This version is better than what I have had in my years living in New Orleans. 10/10 would recommend!

I tried the Bananas Foster Bread Pudding at Smorgasburg. The Bananas Foster sauce itself was delicious, but I didn't actually get any banana slices which I would have liked. The bread pudding was also really yummy, not too sweet, but maybe a little denser than I'm used to. Still very good and I enjoyed it!

Treme has the best pralines, ice cream and rum cake in the World. Having travelled extensively, Treme's flavor profiles are untouchable from New Orleans to Los Angeles and everywhere in between. The owner is so professional, and a pleasure to do business with. Let the Nawlins' vibes and sweet tooth come to life when you try what ever products they offer. Please share their goods with everyone!

Okay where do I start? You can tell these pralines are just made with love they are literally the perfect treat. They are some of the best pralines I've ever had. They just melt in your mouth. And once you have one. You'll want to have another. The business owner is so sweet & professional. I sent a couple of boxes to my coworkers and they all enjoyed them as well. I've also had her booze gummy bears & those are really good too. Super cute gifts to give to your adult friends and praline lovers. Anyone looking for a taste of New Orleans in Los Angeles should definitely give it a try.

Right now you really miss the simpler times, thanks to Treme Kitchen I don't have to! I saw their posts on Instagram, and just knew I had to try. New Orleans has a fond spot in my heart, and the flavors of their boozy gummy bears and pralines made me feel right back in Nawlins. Love the extra mile of free local drop off delivery, complete with a smile. Will definitely order again, thanks for the much needed comfort!

    Amazing King Cake!

SPECTACULAR! The King Cake from Treme was so delicious and a big crowd-pleaser. But even more than that, the customer service was EXCEPTIONAL. They went above and beyond to make sure I got my cake in time and I'm so glad they did! I will definitely be using them again. Cannot recommend them more highly!

I was pretty disappointed with pricing for the amount I was getting. I purchased the regular pralines, salted caramel pralines and banana foster for $48.00 at the Smorgasburg food market. I'm all for supporting local businesses but it just wasn't worth the price. The banana "pudding" just tasted like regular banana bread. Everything else in comparison at the food market was worth the price for the quantity and flavor you were getting. Unfortunately, I will not be shopping here again. For reference I attached a picture of the banana bread after only having 3 or so small bites

The first time I went on a weekday in the middle of the day, so it was super empty and not the best because nothing was being made fresh- the meats and potatoes were kind of just sitting in bins so although the flavor was there, the cooled down temperatures really affected the taste. HOWEVER, I visited a few more times after that, these times all late at night, which really turned my experience around. I think at those times there were a lot more people and long lines, so everything was being made fresh and it being hot just made the food taste so so much better. I love how the toppings are all self-serve, and the hot potato is my favorite side. Carne asada, lengua, and al pastor are my go-tos. You'll want to add hellaaa green sauce to everything- I could literally drink that stuff straight. Love the big easy parking lot here, I'll mention that I saw a few security people checking all the cars and plates so I wouldn't recommend trying to park here and walk somewhere else!

One of the best al pastor burritos in LA! A friend…read morerecommended it to me and I traveled 19 miles and wasn't disappointed. You could see the freshness of al pastor on their vertical rotating grill and the meat seemed leaner as well. They cut a new batch of al pastor and then they chop it to smaller pieces than you're normally used to seeing and somehow, those smaller pieces preserved all the delicious meat juice inside. The al pastor was very tender, juicy, well-marinated and had the sweet and savory notes in a perfect balance and the guys adding some fresh, ripe pineapple on top was a nice touch! I got served my burrito open-faced, I added the salsa, pickled onion and chopped fresh onions and then sent it back to the crew for the final wrapping. Just a great, tasty burrito that absorbed really well. The quality could really be seen and felt and the $10 price tag was unbeatable. The customer service was very friendly and there is plenty of parking right behind the taco stand on the CVS plaza. Will definitely come again!

I watched a burrito be made right in front of me in a minute and it turned out to be one of the best burittos I've ever had. And it was only $12. I understand now. The added pineapple in the buritto added just enough sweetness. They smash the tortilla into the grill and they also smash the meat to make sure it's hot. The meat has no gristle and it's very soft and flavorful. This is why we live in California. I applaud the taco stands opening up in the same block. The line was intimidating but the festive music only made me hungrier. I am surprised at how friendly the staff can be while they are "at work". I've only seen such positivity at Howlin Rays. Luckily, the line moves much faster. They had a cactus salsa which would have gone great with salsa chips. It's the type of salsa that you get at great mexican restaurants and they just let you choose an unlimited amount of it. I asked for rice and beans in my burrito and they put just the right amount of it, being careful as to not overpower the meat portions. I also appreciate that I can add my own salsa, onions, cilantro, before handing it back to them to wrap it. Sometimes the hype of LA places are blown out of proportion especially with blog posts and social media. But I can vouch for this place. It really is worth it. I will be back for sure.

The place is Alejandra's, and the creation is some of the best quesadillas you can get in LA. Coming up to the stand, you eye the menu and make your order, $8 dollars each or $10 for a dual topping type. There is potentially a bit of a wait due to every meal being freshly made on order, but it is a good and worthwhile wait, the staff, clientele, and food being most hospitable. At your order, purple dough is flattened to a blue corn tortilla, each tortilla freshly pressed and grilled in front of you. You watch it sizzle and rise brown, flip over, and continue its cycle to grow crisp. Topping highlights for me include squash blossoms and pork, which is chicharrones with a surprising crisp and crunch better than almost any other I've had, the ring of each bite echoing autumn leaves crunching under my feet, its condensed jerky flavour hemorrhaging in the still present sweetness of a meat once juicy. The stand provides a salsa bar with red and green sauces available, and other vegatative essentials- onion, cilantro, and pepper- serve as a lush and fresh forestry for the surprisingly substantial spice of the salsa to lick upon; piled upon the mountain of food and flavour, the green and red splatters evoked the Hollywood Hills, the red salsa smokey and particularly burning like the fires of last year. It's an addicting taste well worth the visit and short walk to sit and enjoy the meal in Echo Park. I'm excited to come back and try more ingredients for sure, very likely two or three quesadillas at a time to help expedite the process, as it can't be helped. 6.4/10
