I wish there was a 4.5 star option. I'll start with the good stuff- it's big. There is a lot of space to sit. There's space to wait for your order too- so if it's cold or raining, there's room for you. They're open 7a-7p which is great. It was busy when I ran in today around 12:45p on a Sunday and that's always a good sign. It looks clean and the drinks I saw looked appetizing. The food menu sounds fantastic. The guy who helped me with my order was super nice. But I actually went in there on the hunt for something specific. It's the 2nd time I went in since they moved to the space across the street from where they were. The first time I stopped in quickly and saw they had what I was looking for but very few so I didn't buy anything. l had done a very difficult and time intensive Google search for Macaron Cafe macarons. They wholesale out of NYC and they're the best macarons ever. There are probably 6-7 places in Ridgewood that sell macarons, some that make them fresh baked. And none are as good as the ones from Macaron Cafe. Pre-covid I could find them locally pretty easily. But now, it's really hard. Most of the places that sell them put up a menu of the flavors that's very easily identifiable, and they carry the full line. By googling a photo of the menu I was able to find them in Fort Lee and American Dream and those are both too far. I'd gone into every single place that sells macarons in downtown Ridgewood except RCC and none of them have them. I finally made it into Ridgewood when RCC is open (we usually end up in Ridgewood after dinner and they're closed) and imagine my joy in seeing the macarons there. I can tell it's them instantly. Except - they only have like eight of the flavors! They don't advertise them. They don't have the menu up either, so they only way I could tell there might be a chance of them being there was an old photo of their counter from Yelp or Google. So, I didn't have any drinks or food. I just bought some macarons. And I would've bought more except that they didn't really have the flavors I wanted. There are generally around 28-32 flavors and they change/add/take away every few months/holidays, etc. My knocking a star is ONLY for the lack of flavors of these amazing macarons and only having a tease amount of flavors of them. And they should advertise their baked goods/desserts better, like in photos on instagram. They don't post enough of all their food. I had to just take a chance and come in from an old photo. I know I don't want to have to drive to American Dream mall for these macarons. And I know the girls behind me in line today were talking about how they came in for tiramisu. read more

Spacious cafe with a nice variety of drinks and food options. I noticed a majority of people here had laptops and were getting work done, but I also found it a decent spot to catch up with some friends. The matcha einspanner caught my eye, but unfortunately the flavors fell short for me. The barista making my drink appeared to be newer (another barista ended up taking over to finish the drink), and the drink itself tasted overly milky with not enough matcha flavor. Maybe it was the whipped cream, but it felt diluted overall. On the other hand, my husband's New Orleans iced coffee was good, and my friends enjoyed their other coffee drinks as well. On a journey to try all local matcha lattes! Recently visited Ridgewood Coffee Company to try their matcha lattes as I had seen a recommendation on social media. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not too busy at all. It was my first time visiting and they had a big space with some tables and seats. They had a menu of different coffees and of course the matcha. They also had a ceremonial matcha option for an additional charge. I had ordered the matcha latte and was able to change the mildly option to oat. We also wanted to try the matcha cookie. Our order was made fresh and picked up at the end of the counter. You can really taste the matcha flavor and not overpowered by the oat milk. Overall a good matcha-- they also had additional flavors options that can be added like strawberry. I got the strawberry matcha latte - I most definitely recommend as the matcha is rich in taste and they use the ceremonial blend. Friendly service. We ordered a latte and a flat white to stay, along with the salmon bagel. Our drinks came out relatively quickly. I prefaced my order asking if we could have everything to stay but I wish they told us that the for here cups for lattes only came in 12oz. So I was a little surprised that the flat white came in a mug and the latte in a to go cup. I would have ordered the 12oz because I really don't like using things meant for single use. Nothing is organic none of the coffees are organic. Pesticide laden which is very bad for your health and extremely expensive. Almost $7 for a pour over that tasted sour. Not even one organic offering. How can they charge so much money and give you a sub par product. In their statement on their website they use wordings like sustainability, sourcing the finest beans, delivering a moment of connection and joy, what kind of joy is derived with drinking pesticide laden coffee? I'm actually more appalled at the pricing here.Much better choices in town with organic beans. I got outside tasted the coffee and threw it in the garbage. $7 down the drain. 2024 Update: They have moved to their new location May 2024 just one block away from the old one and the place is much more spacious!! While the previous address was mostly grab-and-go, their new spot makes you feel invited to stay longer and chill. Inside is wide, open and has lots of seating options. They have also updated their drinks menu and they now include some new specials such as their Einspanners which are delicious! They now also have a brunch menu available from 9am-2pm which is even a bigger plus! Service kinda varied between my first and second visits though. First was met with friendly and good-natured staff while second was with someone that didnt look like he was in a good mood - no smiles or greeting, hardly any eye-contact and a somewhat stern "what was that?" when he didnt hear me say my order well. Maybe it's just me but that interaction from the second visit made me feel like i was just a nuisance :( Both indoor and outdoor seatings are great and they are good for solo, small groups and big groups. Since its so spacious inside, it comfortable for those who may need to bring in their strollers or wheelchairs etc. There is also a ramp to reach the restrooms and they are gender-neutral. Lots of good things happening here. Hoping to have more good experiences here (than bad) and more delicious drinks of lattes. read more

Love this spot, only wish it was closer. This coffee shop is located in the heart of downtown Ridgewood, and is always packed no matter when you go. Since it's downtown you'll have to pay for parking but shouldn't have much trouble finding a nearby spot. Very spacious and appears recently renovated inside with a good amount of seating but given how full it tends to be, you may have trouble finding something on the weekend. Usually tend to see a range of groups of people crowded around the tables in the back. Pretty family friendly spot and they have a ramp for those who are bringing strollers. Several coffee options although I've only ever gotten the Cold Brew which is quite strong, just the way I like it. My wife has tried the latte & cappuccino and seems to have enjoyed both. They also have a decent selection of pastries as well as general food options. I tend to opt for the Macaroons which really go well with the Coffee in my opinion anyway. I've been going to Ridgewood Coffee Company every Saturday morning for the past couple of months, and it's become one of my favorite weekend rituals. I usually spend an hour or so there catching up on work or just enjoying a quiet start to the day. The drinks are consistently solid --I've tried the oat milk latte, the matcha latte, and the almond joy latte. Their pastries are also worth a mention--especially the monkey bread, which I'm pretty sure they get from Balthazar's (in other words, fantastic). The space itself is clean and modern but still feels warm, bright, open and inviting. There's plenty of seating, whether you're looking to get things done on your laptop or meet up with friends for a chat. The staff are friendly and the music--heavy on 90s alternative--is the cherry on the top. Great spot all around. read more

When I ordered a cake pop (which was somehow like 5 bucks), they didn't even ask what flavor I wanted and gave me a random one out of the three available. Seating: Excellent amount of seating and a good place to sit down and get some work down (however note areas of improvement). Parking: Ample, though you have to pay. Can get busy during lunch/dinner hours though. Areas of improvement: ‍Service: Nothing special. They take your order and place it on the counter for you. Not bad at all. Just not noteworthy compared to other coffee shops. Ambience: This is what drove the low rating. I've been here several times and have observed the following. Tables aren't cleaned after use, floors are unswept, and their food displays need better care. Their WiFi is very poor as well. Also, one time I was there around 11a they were vacuuming the roasting area and it was not a great experience. (Something that should be done after hours when customers aren't there.) We stopped here for the first time yesterday and loved the coffee. The coffee was well-made, espresso was strong, and everything was quality. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. The shop's decor reminds me of Seattle. It's a no-frills, artsy, place to be. I like that, because it means they focus on their coffee and not simply an image. I recommend their latte 100%. I'm going to review my experience with this place. I do come once or twice a week. I come for the food mostly, as I don't drink coffee. It seems most people enjoy the coffee drinks but I have no way to know. I enjoy the space; it's pleasant, bright and comfortable. My biggest and only gripe is the employees. I come often enough, I think, to the point where they would at least know my name or even ask what it is. I find there is an attitude problem because not only don't they know my name, they act as if I'm not "cool" enough to be here . Never a smile or a friendly hello. Place could use a little updating/cleaning. Coffee was okay. I ordered a decaf iced latte with almond milk and caramel. Wish it came with a lid - I was worried the entire time it would spill as I was walking. (Spoiler Alert: it spilled) Overall decent place to grab a coffee. The barista made a mistake when preparing my drink, which I asked them about as soon as they gave it to me. instead of being apologetic, they gave me an attitude saying they were really busy. they sort of fixed the drink (instead of making it over again) but the encounter left a bad taste in my mouth. Very disappointed. Ordered a bagel with a medium amount of cream cheese and a black coffee. Was given a number and waited at my outdoor table with my friends for my order. They had gotten theirs from the counter. Five minutes later I went inside looking for my order. Was told the coffee was sitting on the counter and bagel was in the kitchen. Kitchen worker was just finishing it. I retrieved the bagel (which was overflowing with cream cheese), and then asked for and got a fresh cup of hot coffee. What happened? I ended up getting an oat milk latte, and was pleasantly surprised when it came with some latte art!
