Bagel culture is a hidden gem in Glen Rock. It's a no frills bagel shop that serves various bagels and sandwiches with a few seats if you want to dine in. The staff is always nice every time we go in. Our favorite is the blueberry bagel. It has good blueberry flavor and there aren't that many places that have it. One of the things I miss most about living in NJ (well besides all the great people) is the BAGELS!!!! Bagel Culture is my go to spot to get bagels whenever I am in the area. I always bring home a dozen to freeze so I can enjoy them long after my visit to NJ is over, and they stay very well in the freezer. I have tried a variety of the different cream cheese spreads and bagel types and all of them have been delicious. The shop has been pretty busy every time I have gone, but service is always fast and there was only one time when they had run out of the type of bagel I was looking for. The shop is small, and is more of a take-out place, but there are a couple tables for those who want to eat in. Prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a visit if you are a bagel lover! They also have a gluten free option for sale. read more

Have eaten here with greater frequency lately and will continue to do so. So many businesses have been in their location, since I started going there back before Turvino's was Momma's & Poppa's and was called Nibble & Chat before that. I work in Ridgewood and I usually go to a bagel place in town right before work and this time I decided to stop here to try it out because it's right on my way and it's fairly new, the location is good it has parking and they take cards and cash, no Amex though. They also have this thing you can text your order ahead which I think it's pretty cool and convenient. So I decided to order a roll with ham, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a bit of mayo. Can you guess how much? $7.52! I'm sorry but that is way over price, I know Ridgewood can be a bit pricey but I've been to plenty of bagel places around here for about 3 years and never has it been more then $5 dollars. It's ridiculous, I was so shocked. It's not like it was a combo or anything. I've gone here twice so far and their bagels are pretty awesome! Boiled and baked bagels and their portions are pretty hearty. Yesterday, I got their ham egg and cheese on an onion bagel and it was very delicious! My main squeeze got their sausage egg and cheese which I really wished I took a bite of because that sounded delicious as well. The staff are really friendly and I always enjoy getting a bagel here when I visit from California. We don't have bagels like that on the west coast so it's always nice to try east coast culture, bagel style! read more

The first time I stumbled upon Bagel Culture, I thought I had a new place to have a great bagel. The food is good, as well, as the coffee they serve. The only problem is, their cook refuses to use gloves. The first time this happened, I told the owner that I would not accept the sandwich. It took me a few months to go back and give them a second chance. Today, the same problem occurred. I watched, as the cook,(same guy) used his bare hands to flip my eggs on the grill. I had to tell them to cancel my order. Never will I go to a place that will not police their workers to use gloves. It's unsanitary and a big turnoff. I gave them a second chance and they could not even better their situation. It's such a shame, too, the food is good. I just will not be able to give them another chance. Ehhhhh! I want to see this place survive because its a mom and pop so I do continue to go there occasionally although I feel its little expensive. I had the nutella cream cheese on a bagel on my last trip there and I wasn't impressed. It was like they took cream cheese and put nutella on top and slapped it shut. I thought it would be a more unified consistency. I could have done that at home! Customer service could be kicked up a notch. Smiling, saying good morning etc. goes a long way. On another visit, I inquisitively and excitedly asked for a sample of the bacon cream cheese and the young lady looked at me like I asked her for the keys to her car, said sure, and never gave it to me. It's hard for me to comment on their traditional bagels and fare, so I will refrain from doing so. Their spread looked great, however, so I would have tried their bagels had their gluten free options they advertised were not laughable. First, I am lucky not to have a serious gluten allergy otherwise their practices of using the same space would have been a deal breaker. To their credit, they asked if this is permissible so people will know to avoid buying/eating from Bagel Culture. Second, I was never shown the bagel prior to toasting. When it came out, it was a third if the size of the regular bagels for $4.50. A toasted gluten free bagel for that price? Unbelievable. I was so shocked when I opened the bag at home I laughed. If I can add a picture of their bagel compared to a bagel purchased from a shop nearby, I will. The disparity is stuff of Photoshop legends. The bagel itself was tasty, chewy without any grainy texture. I would recommend trying but not with the other variables as part of the consideration. I understand the bagels are made off premises but I suggest letting patrons see the mini bagel before purchase. read more

Best gourmet bagels around. I see everyone complaining about the cost of the sandwiches and yes they are a little high but your paying for quality. If you want quantity over quality then go to that chop shop of a bagel place on Fair Lawn Ave. I get the Culture Classic and it's the best bagel and lox around. The coffee is also very good. I wish they had a reward program on an app so my family who goes every weekend could get a free sandwich once in a while. Did try the gluten free bagel for a family member and that should be taken off the menu. It's was pretty bad. Only reason for not having five stars. About a couple weeks ago, I came in and ordered the BEC and Sunday Morning (sausage egg and cheese) on a bagel and 2 hash browns. Its a decent sized place, but people are always coming to order, so it gets a little packed. However, everyone social distances and people wait outside if there is too many people inside. The food tasted good, but wished they would put more bacon. Rest of the food was really good too, a little pricy with both of the bagels being 5.25 but they are really filing and tasty. I ordered a coffee also and they gave it to me right after I ordered and had to wait about 20 minutes for my food to get ready, so my coffee had gotten cold. I think they should give out food and coffee at the same time, to make sure this would not happen. Also, a man had come in without a mask and was sitting on the chair, but none of the employees ever said anything which was concerning. 3 stars because when the regular staff is there, everything is always perfect. But there were all new folks in today and there was literally 5 inches of some kind of ROPE in my sandwich. Rope. This very quickly became our go-to bagel spot, and not just because of its location. Bagels are excellent and fresh, and sandwiches are generous and wrll-made. French toast bagels on the weekend are the best I've had! Probably the biggest distinction they have vs other area stores is their coffee. It's strong, flavorful, and doesn't taste anything like your usual half-burnt, hours-old bagel store brew. Bonus points for offering almond milk too. I haven't tried any of the cream cheese specialty flavors but I'll get around to it. This is a great and unique addition to the local bagel scene. read more

Bagel Culture, is in a great location for commuters, its food is good, but its very expensive. The muffins are great, the donuts, amazing. The bagels are oddly large, and the hot bagel sandwiches are made fresh. All the food is good, I have never had a bad experience here, but getting food here puts a dent in my wallet. Their wraps and specialty sandwiches are around $10 which is ridiculous. They have a plethora of cream cheeses and toppings to put on bagels, and the store is very clean and modern. Their usual workers are sometimes grumpy, and they never have chocolate chip bagels or french toast bagels despite the advertising for them. Try this place out, it won't hurt! read more
