Came here for dinner on a whim with a friend and we really enjoyed our experience!! Service was wonderful, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Ambience inside was nice. Bathrooms are also very cute and clean too :) Food was great. Personally would not get the bolognese again. Pizza bismark was good!! The crostini as an appetizer was wonderful. Would definitely come back!
Rigo is labeled a spanish italian restaurant and I'd have to say it was as tasty and authentic as they claim to be. We started off with the Rigo Caeser Salad and it was one of the better Caesar salads I've had. Fresh ingredients and their homemade dressing complemented each other very well. Not too heavy and light enough to satisfy your salad cravings. Next we had the Gambas al Ajillo, tapas made with shrimp, garlic, and olive oil. It was also very good and reminded me of the same dish I had in Barcelona. For our entree, we had the Seafood Caldoso, which was excellent! I've never had this before as I usually have paella but decided to try it based on the server's recommendation. It is similar to paella but more brothy. The flavors blended well and the soup adds a nice element to the variety of seafood you get. I enjoyed this more than the paella and will definitely order it again. The service here was excellent. Very attentive and we got a lot of good suggestions on what was good and popular. The atmosphere is nice and casual. Noise level is good so you can enjoy your meal and have a nice conversation. I would recommend this place for a really nice lunch or dinner. We came for lunch and there aren't too many nice lunch spots in the area so it was a pleasant surprise!
We've been here a bunch of times now, whether it's for date nights, gatherings with friends, or celebrations--Rigo's tapas, pastas, and pizzas never miss. It is definitely on the pricier side, though, and the atmosphere can get a bit loud depending on when you go, so it may not be the best spot for conversations. That said, the ambiance is sophisticated and perfect for a nice, lively night out. The drinks, however, were quite underwhelming and definitely not worth the ~$17+ price per drink. I especially love their seafood paella, and my boyfriend always orders the Crostini and Pizza Bismarck. We usually share one or two entrées and fill the rest of the table with 5-6 tapas, and we're pretty stuffed by the end.
A beautiful space with delicious small bites. I came with two other people and sat at the bar - would highly recommend making reservations because the place was packed! We shared three appetizers and two pastas which was enough food for us, but not a ton. All of the appetizers were a hit, and our server suggested a side of bread for the vongole steamed clams which was a must. The pastas were fine but slightly small portions for the price. The parking is valet only, so make sure to bring some cash. You could also probably park in the shopping center across the street.
This place is located on Diamond Head side of Kapahulu across from Safeway. They have valet parking. The alternative is finding street parking in the neighborhood which is troublesome. The food was a fusion as advertised but as is the case with fine dining, the portions are very small (see photos). The pizza Bismark was pretty good. Overall not my favorite type of place although my friends who we were with go quite often.

Everything was tasty, fresh, and delicious. Prices are semi-high but not egregious given experience, ambiance, and quality. Service was also friendly. The one thing we were disappointed by was the lack of celebration for our special occasion. We noted that we were celebrating a milestone birthday when we made our reservation, and we mentioned this again to our server when we arrived. Despite that, we didn't receive anything special to commemorate the occasion which felt like a miss. From reading other reviews, seems like this is a pattern with Rigo.
On my last night in Hawaii, I decided to try Rigo, a restaurant recommended by a friend. They serve Spanish and Italian food in a tapas style format. The Gambas Al Ajillo were a bit disappointing; the shrimp were small and not very impactful. However, the cocktails and rest of the dishes were delicious, especially the pizza! They offer valet parking or street parking.
Food was so good, we went for Valentine's day with no reservation. But we were luckily able to get seats at the bar. The food was not crazy expensive. We got a good amount of food and drinks. And was less than a set meal at another restaurant we did have reservations too. So pretty great deal in my opinion. The Gambas Al Ajillo went great with the Garlic Parmesan Bread. This was recommended to us by the bartender to try together, and we would definitely recommend to others as well. Definitely would visit again!
Rigo is a great choice for date night, special occasions, or cocktails and pupus with friends. I've been going to Rigo since they first opened. I have really enjoyed seeing how their Spanish/Italian Tapa style menu has evolved over the years and at the same time, love that the cool chic colorful Havana style interior and vibe has stayed the same. My favorite dishes: the smoky savory Melanzane topped with jalapeños, the perfectly sweet tender grilled pork belly pinchos, the classic Spanish tortilla, garlicky salty Gambas al ajillo, and any of the paellas or caldosos which you can't find many other places on island. I would also suggest adding an order of their garlic Parmesan bread to dip into their delectable sauces. On a recent visit, I also tried their American wagyu sirloin, pancetta artichoke aglio e olio special, and the honey beybe cocktail (lavender earl grey) which I will definitely be ordering again. To top it off, our table shared a slice of basque cheesecake. The best part, the prices have remained reasonable and perfect for sharing. Valet parking available outside the restaurant.
Came here for a late mother's day celebration and wife really liked the place, especially the wood oven pizza. We also had their seafood paiea and a spicy pasta dish. All were good and tasty. Service was very good, we came right at opening time, and ambiance was elegant casual. Kind of felt a little underdressed in shorts and a t-shirt, but it was fine. Also, didn't hear the Kapahulu street noise too bad. Maybe sound proofing? Overall, we had an enjoyable experience and would come back again for special occasions as it's a little pricy for me.

We valeted so we did not have to hunt for street parking, but would have preferred to park ourselves. Inside, the restaurant is spacious with a variety of tables, booths, and more. We were seated on a bench/booth and chairs. We were offered additional pillows for the bench, which helped make the seating more comfortable. The people working were attentive and polite. We ordered the crostini, which I was a little skeptical about with the papaya. However, it was a delicious combination with the prosciutto, honey, and cheese. I ordered the Paella Negra, which had squid ink. It was also yummy. It was tasty and especially good with the lemon squeezed over it, which paired well with the squid. I could not finish it, so I ended up taking a little container. The paella was about $35, which was pricey for us, but the ingredients and portion were excellent. We would love to come back and try more of their dishes.
Love this place. 2nd time here and it didnt disappoint. Food is so delicious and different due to the fusion type Italian Asian food. Service is great. Servers offered their recommendations and did not disappont. Ambiance is great. A pretty fancy place that is laid back. Can get a little loud but in a good way. Modern environment a decor. I think we ordered all different things both times we came here. And have only good things to say. Will certainly be back for more.
We came here for a friend's birthday dinner and the service and ambiance was amazing. Our server was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our favorites were the Pulpo and Crema Catalana. The Pulpo was well seasoned and wasn't too chewy. Having the Crema Catalana was a nice way to end the meal. The Seafood Paella was smaller than we thought, still very delicious but it'll only feed 2 people max.

Came for happy hour and got their mai tai, jamon serrano, kanpachi ceviche, and octopus. Jamon Serrano was delicious, would get it again. Ceviche was good. Nice to try but would be willing to skip to try something else. Would skip octopus for sure in future visits. It was tough and bland. Mai tai was also delicious. Cute interior. Service was fine. I left something behind and they called me so quickly that I was able to easily grab go back and grab it. Will return again! read more

The best Italian, thus far! I'm glad we ended up here.. We walked in without a reservation yesterday around 5p and staff was welcoming. We were seated right away at the bar. Bartenders were friendly. I got the Pineapple Shrub mocktail which was refreshing. I ordered the Cacio a Pepe which has 2 kinds of cheese and fried prosciutto and made the noodles GF and lemme tell you... the BEST! Overall experience was incredible from start to finish. Hubby ordered the salmon funghi Alfredo and it was equally delicious! This is def a must! read more

Three cheers for Rigo!!! Hip hip Hooray! Hip hip Hooray! Hip hip Hooray! Everything from the entrance, sit down, greeting, selection help, dishes, and bill settlement was top notch! We had an amazing experience here and we just happened to stop by after visiting Leonard's Bakery. All of our dishes and drinks were fantastic (see pictures). If you are on Oahu and appreciate Italian Food, then Rigo is a destination you should schedule. Try to make reservations is you can; they are often booked solid. In a pinch, you can dine at the bar (still a wonderful experience). read more

Super cute Italian fusion restaurant in Oahu ! Felt like we transported out of the island. Super cute and intimate aesthetics for date night, celebration, or catching up with a friend. Was a big fan of their carbonara which was super creamy and fulfilling. The pasta was cooked to the perfect al dente. The crispy mushrooms ?i think added a great texture element to the traditional pasta and pair really well with the sauce. I was honestly fine without it too bc the carbonara was that good ! The octopus tapa was cooked very well. Had a nice soft chew too it without it being outdone and had a great tomato flavor profile. I would skip on the calamari, felt more like a calamari steak fried, wish it was the traditional rings and tentacles. Got the egg plant pizza which was delicious and unique, the crust was soggy in the middle tho but not too bad ! Drinks were delicious I would go just to the bar for them. Our server was very helpful and gave good recs. Small parking lot. Overall great restaurant if you want something different and an escape from the island, but who would want that ? Haha. read more
So far, my favorite Italian place here. Even my Asian dad who generally doesn't like Western food likes their pasta! Food: The pasta noodles are made from scratch which has this Al dente texture and flavor that your typical grocery boxed pastas can't replicate. Last night, I got their carbonara with portobella fritto. It was super creamy and I like how the portobello frits is lightly fried. My friends got bologna and arrabbiata with smoked mozzarella which were also solid choices. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any of their pasta choices. Although the portion of the pastas looks "small,"it's actually filling since it's very heavy and the big plate gives the illusion that the portion is small. Another must-try is their bismark pizza that has truffle oil, funghi, and a runny egg in the middle. Super flavorful especially since they use wood fire to bake it. Service: our server was very friendly and well-spoken. Atmosphere: slightly more on the noisy side so you may have to talk a little louder when dining with people. The decor I would say is kind of like casual fine dining? The bathroom was really nice! They have a bidet and the toilet paper is super soft thick. I think it's the charmin brand lol. Parking: I went during dinner so their parking lot was valet. I didn't want to pay so I parked at Safeway right across the street. But during lunch hours it's not valet and it's free self-parking. read more

Their dishes are tasty and I recommend that you order 2-3 items per person. If you have a party of 3 and each person orders 3 dishes to share, then everyone can sample 9 dishes. They have a cool/hip interior design and the restaurant is packed on weekends. We've always had excellent service and the manager Jimmy, is very personal and professional. Again, highly recommended! Rigo's was excellent. I truly enjoyed my visit there for lunch with my family. From the moment of entry to our exit, we received top tier service. Codi our server was ultra amazing! I had 2 espresso martinis. Delicious . If I had just come for that, I would have been fine with that alone. I had the ceasar salad, my brother had the lobster risotto, my son had a firewood cheese pizza, my nephew had the firewood Margherita pizza, and his lady had a really good pasta, i forgot the name. Everything was exceptional. I can't wait to go back! read more

Ambiance, food, and service have always been amazing! Some of our go-to favorites are the crostini, paella, pulpo (grilled tako), clams, and melanzane. They recently updated their menu, so we had to try a couple of the new additions--the melanzane and the pizzetta. Both were delicious! Valet parking is available for $5, or you can usually find street parking nearby. Looking forward to coming back again soon! read more
We went to Rigo in Kapahulu for Valentine's Day yesterday, and I can't believe I've passed by it so many times without ever noticing it. From the outside, it's kind of a hole-in-the-wall tucked away in plain sight. They have a small parking lot, and since we went during lunch, I was able to find parking easily. They also offer complimentary valet at lunch, but I got there before the valet started, so I just parked myself, which I didn't mind at all. I've also heard that some people park across the street in the Safeway lot. Once you walk in, the ambiance is clean, cozy, and has a really nice elevated feel. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. For appetizers, we ordered the verdure fritte and the melanzane, and both were so good. I was honestly already getting full after the apps, but it was Valentine's Day and my boyfriend wanted the full experience lol. For our entrées, we had the lobster risotto and the Bismark pizza. The risotto was rich and flavorful, but the pizza was probably the best I've ever had. The crust was perfect and everything was cooked just right. The portions were a good size. For drinks, my boyfriend had a shiso hi-ball and I ordered a mocktail. To end the meal, I had an affogato, without it I would've kanack'd. We actually found out about this place because my boyfriend came here for his work Christmas party and loved it so much that he wanted to bring me and I'm so glad he did. Overall, it was such a good experience and definitely somewhere I'd come back to. Such a great spot for Valentine's Day or any special occasion. read more

Food: 10/10 everything was incredible. I have dreams of eating this food for the first time. The tacos were small but flavorful, pizza was incredible, the pasta was delicious. We can't pick a favorite. Service: It was busy but our server was attentive and always kept our table clean. Ambiance: Beautiful outside, beautiful inside. I saw some people dress down but this place is gorgeous. I'd definitely opt for dressing up. It is a little loud. Will definitely be returning. read more
I'm still dreaming about the carbonara with portabella fritta until now... When it was time for dessert I ordered another carbonara LOL Don't get me wrong the desserts were still very delicious, I'm not even a sweetie and I thought they were very good I'm actually a savory and so i opted for a savory dessert of carbonara I few dishes we tried included: Paella Negra - this is a delicious squid ink paella I never had anything like this before and I will order this again and again Crostini - like a Charcuterie Amuse-bouche, so darn yummmm pulpo, Mushroom pizza Vongole clams, carbonara with portabella fritto - omg omg omg this was by far my most favorite carbonara pasta I have ever tasted anywhere! I had to get 2 orders Lol bolognese Tiramisu It was a great ambiance with beautiful interiors and even beautiful venue for parties or work events! We were a group & we had reservations; i also brought my family and they loved it too! read more

Made a reservation for 4 adults and 2 children and they were very accommodating. We were seated on a table with a couch that had extra wiggle room. Service was very attentive and all the staff there were very friendly. For appetizers, we ordered Patatas Bravas, Melanzane, Calamari Fritti, and the Garlic Parmesan Bread. All of the appetizers were delicious! I especially loved the Melanzane and the Calamari Fritti! The Melanzane had beef bolognese, jalapeños and eggplant with a side of toast. So flavorful and had a little kick from the jalapeño. Loved dipping the rest of the garlic bread in this spread. I was amazed at how tender the Calamari Fritti was! And the batter was crispy and paired well with the aioli. Wow I could polish off two of those plates! The Patatas Bravas was ok, not as crispy as I would have liked. For entrees, we got the Quattro Formaggi Pizza, Arrabbiata with Smoked Mozarella and Chicken, and Salmon Funghi Alfredo. The pizza was really good; Thin crust and full of cheesy flavor. Their pasta is so good and al dente! My favorite was the Salmon Funghi Alfredo. So creamy and the salmon flavor was subtle. Would get this again and again! The Arrabbiata was ok. A little bit too spicy for me and very tart tomato flavor but you can really taste the smoked mozzarella. I should've known it would be too spicy for me when it said it was a chili kneaded spaghetti lol. For dessert, everything sounded so yummy so we ordered the Crema Catalina, Basque Cheesecake, and Chocolate Cassata. Loved the Crema Catalina; it was their version of a Crème brûlée with a crispy caramelized sugar coating and custard. Yum!! The Basque Cheesecake was creamy and came with a yummy apple topping and Chantilly cream. The Chocolate Cassata was an ice cream cake that came with vanilla gelato, caramelized nuts and raspberry sauce. Loved the caramelized nuts and the presentation was beautiful. Overall really great place! Will definitely come back for their Al dente pasta and to try some of their other appetizers and pastas! read more

The staff were all very friendly and professional, would constantly check on us, and seemed like they genuinely loved being there. When we had menu questions, the staff were more than willing to answer our questions too, and were very knowledgeable in regard to the menu! All of the pasta was pretty amazing, but ESPECIALLY THE CACIO E PEPE! Hands down one of my favorite pastas i've EVER had. The crostini was cooling with a burst of flavors i can't even describe. I guess you'll just have to try for yourself! The cheesecake was okay, but was not exactly my cup of tea, I felt the taste was a tad bit confusing and bland. I also thought the tortilla was pretty good but the texture wasn't my favorite and a few bites were bland. The chocolate cassata was pure bliss. The arrabbiata was also so delicious. Tapas style dishes. Spanish-Italian menu with a Japanese finesse. Background: The Japanese restaurant group HUGE, runs 11 Rigo locations in Japan (each with its own unique menu to avoid the "franchise" tag). Building out the Honolulu location, they did not spare any expenses to bring the same quality of craftsmanship to Hawaii. Hence, a flashy red-mosaic Stefano Ferrara oven, handmade by a third-generation oven maker in Naples, to the Josper charcoal oven and grill from Spain. Likely the only one in Hawai'i. The Food: We settled in for a late Tuesday dinner and, reminiscing about our past trips to Spain, leaned into the Spanish side of the menu. We fired up the tastebuds with the corn mousse & uni. This dish perfectly captured the East-meets-West theme of the menu. Served chilled, light, silky, with a custardy mouthfeel and a subtle corn flavor As sexy as it looked, the uni's flavor got a bit lost in the mousse. The grilled pulpo was exceptionally tender and slightly smoky, paired with roasted potatoes and a bright tomato base. A classic Spanish dish that made us teary eyed for Barcelona. The salami jalapeño took the trophy for most interesting dish of the night. Baked spicy salami and cheese that comes bubbling hot in a clay ramekin flanked with toast points. I may have to supersize this dish for the Super Bowl. Not wanting to cause an international incident, we crossed the border into Italy and ordered the Lobster Risotto. Definitely the highlight of the meal. Creamy but not heavy, the rice infused with a wonderful lobster fragrance and the lobster ate sweet and tender. The clam caldo leaned more Japanese, with an aromatic, soothing broth touched with white pepper. Delicate yet flavorful. Excellent service! Warm and attentive. Limited parking in front. We ventured to Rigo to celebrate my other half's birthday. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance felt cozy. The space is beautifully curated, with a striking red bull sculpture near the bar and an open kitchen that lets you catch glimpses of the chefs in action. We started with seasonal oysters which were fresh and beautifully presented. Also, the Calamari Fritti that was perfectly crisp and tender. Instead of going for traditional mains, we chose to indulge in tapa dishes. The Pulpo (grilled octopus) was a standout -- juicy, tender, and paired with flavorful potatoes. The crostini was a delightful surprise, topped with what we believe was prosciutto and papaya?? It was a combo that totally worked. Then came the Pizza Bismark. Wood-fired perfection with mushrooms, truffle oil, cheese, and a soft egg in the center. We were skeptical about the egg at first, but it added a rich, velvety touch that made each bite unforgettable. We also shared the chocolate cake topped with cashews, caramelized walnuts, vanilla gelato, and a drizzle of raspberry sauce. It was decadent, balanced, and the perfect way to end our evening. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and lightning-fast! She answered all our questions and brought extra napkins and olive oil within seconds of asking. It's rare to find service this attentive. My girlfriends & I had a really great dinner here! Loved yapping over pasta & drinks! * Parking: Small lot with valet service. You may also park on the street if you're lucky enough to find a spot! * Ambiance: Just like the food, the decor was a good representation of spanish-italian fusion! I loved the high ceiling & wine bottle display. * Service: From the moment we were seated, our waiter was very attentive. He went over the menu thoroughly, and timed our apps and entrees perfectly for our meal! * Food/Drink: My favorite thing had to be the crostini. I didn't expect papaya, prosciutto, & marscapone to go so well with each other, but it was surprisingly SOOO good. I could have easily eaten at least 10 pieces haha. A close second had to be the seafood paella that I tried from my friends' plate. It was very rich & comforting! This is one of the most popular Spanish-Italian fusion restaurant in the Oahu island. It's always crowded so highly recommended to call in for a reservation. The restaurant itself is pretty big so it's very spacious that you don't have to worry about being squished with people. We ordered the following: DUXELLES PIZZA : 8/10, one of the best pizza.its a thin crust pizza, so it don't have this doughy texture. It's freshly made and baked through a fired wood oven, which makes it has this unique wood fire taste compare to an oven bake taste. SEAFOOD PAELLA : If you can tolerate salty food, then this can be for you. This dish is in the pricer side, but the seafood is super fresh which contains of shrimp, clams and squid. This dish is cooked with calm stock, which makes it even more tasty. The rice soaked all the juices and the calm stock, which has this fresh seafood aroma taste that can't resist. However, it's pretty salty. BOLOGNESE : The pasta is cooked to al dente, which is firm to bite. Because I am use to have pasta that cooked more softer, so I was not use to have pasta that's cooked firm. read more
Valet parking is $5, tip not included. Street parking may be hard to find but there is parking right in front of the restaurant if you're lucky. Reservations are recommended. The past 2 times I went without a reservations, I sat at the bar, which I didn't mind. Bar seating is first come first serve. It's a nice restaurant. Casual, trendy, great for a special dinner as it's on the nicer side. The service is excellent. Food is great! This time I got the Sushi Roll- good app to share for 2 ppl, the Seafood Paella- definitely recommend and I'm going to get this again, and Alfredo w/ chicken. The Alfredo sauce was delicious. Went to lunch at Rigo for my birthday and everything we ordered was amazing. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My favorites are always the pasta. We ordered their lunch special- salmon shoyu butter pasta, plus the carbonara, the arugula and prosciutto pizza, and the arrabbiata pasta. The restaurant is very spacious with a mix of regular tables and booths. Our server was also very attentive and was able to give us good recommendations on what to order. 10/10! read more
We hadn't been to Rigo in quite a while so we thought we would revisit them. What a treat it was! Our server, Mickey, was very attentive and had great suggestions for us. Open on Sundays for lunch?
Yes I've been there Sunday for lunch. Don't get there too close to closing. They refused to serve me dessert as our reservation was made 30 min prior to closing.
Is there a corkage fee if I bring my own wine in to dine there?
Yes! Corkage fee is $25 per bottle, starting July 2023.

Yes, you enter the lot on Mokihana St. However, there are a limited number of spaces so go early. I had to find parking somewhere else.
