Location: Heart of Kakaako. Best to walk here and take in the sites of a revived area. Parking: Extremely limited. Service: Efficient and friendly. Be patient if the line is long. Always worth the wait. Food: 5/5 Outstanding for Hawaii. You can taste the quality fresh ingredients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance: great outdoor seating near the pizza oven. Buy your favorite bottle of wine and enjoy while waiting for your order.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I have been meaning to come here for a long time though still have not. I had my brother go and pick up an order of Il Bolognese panini and Salsiccia & Funghi pizza. My brother said the ordering process was ok in the shop but you have to go outside to wait for them to call your name. The Il Bolognese panini had a slight crunch to the crust. The bread was of good quality and the fillings were good though I couldn't really taste the pistachio which is my only complaint. The fungi pizza used the same bread as the panini and it was good also with clumps of melted cheese, sausage, and mushrooms. I would like to try their Neapolitan pizza next time but this was a filling slice. I can see why people have been raving about this place to get good Italian food and I'll be back, this time in person!

10/10 AMAZING food! Owners and staff are so great! Such a cute shop will definitely come again!

Bocconcino is located along Kawaiaha'o Street which is a bit of a rough narrow street, you can probably get away with street parking in front however. I called ahead and ordered takeout which came out on time. (4/5) Salsiccia & Porcini Pizza: The size was a bit small for the price point and I wish the sauce was more plentiful, but the flavor was good. (4/5) Bolognese Sandwich: LOVED the pistachio spread, it was the perfect balance of sweetness, saltiness, and nuttiness to pull the sandwich together. I'm lactose-intolerant and I'm surprised that I was perfectly fine after eating all the cheese on this sandwich. The only complaint I have is that the bread was hard and difficult to eat through.

Every sandwich is a hit here. Every time. They're not cheap, but they're definitely made with high quality ingredients. That being said, don't plan to pick up food here if you're in a rush. It's a small shop with many orders and they painstakingly assemble every flatbread and sandwich with love. I've waited 45 min for 4 sandwiches before...Which are massive and should feed 6 people in my opinion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While you wait, there's plenty of time to peruse the yummy Italian made ingredients in the shop and smell the wonderful smells.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will come back again and again--and continue to bring friends who love food because I always want to try more than one wich when we're there!!

The bolognese sandwich was my favorite, and the rest was not so good. I ordered 2 pizzas and 2 sandwiches. The bolognese sandwich was creamy with cheese served with bread that was a bit hard for me. The Toscano sandwich had no cheese in it which made it even more hard and dry. The Salsiccia pizza was better than the prosciutto pizzas because the sausage bite were chopped and easier to eat, but other pizza with large pieces of prosciutto and arugula salad leafs were uncut and when you take a bite, large chuck get difficult to eat. I can see how it is easier for the person to make it by just throwing large uncut pieces of meat and salads on the pizza, but difficult for the customer to actually eat. However, both pizzas are hard and dry, so I will not come back for these expensive and hard to eat food. Inside the store is nice, clean and full of food and merchandise to buy, but no parking spot sucks, especially in this narrow two way street. Too much hassle for at most, mediocre, super expensive food. I will not come here again.

Where have I been?? One of the doctors told me about this place after my trip back from Italy. It was supposed to be like All'Antico. I stood in line Florence for a delish prosciutto layered. Wait here is long. I had the salsiccia and porcini sandwich. It was yummy! Place is more of a grab and go. They have seats in the back for outdoor vibes.

If you don't already know about this place, you'll probably never stumble upon it - it's tucked away and kind of hidden. We started with the wine tasting, then ordered pizzas, purchased a bottle of wine and water (they'll open it for you and provide cups). After that, we stepped out of the store, and headed to the garage-style space where a chef, pizza oven, tables, and chairs are set up. A few minutes later, our pizzas arrived. I had the prosciutto and arugula with just a touch of lemon zest. It was excellent! The little hint of citrus was surprisingly refreshing and really made the pizza stand out. Overall, I really enjoyed both the food and the experience. A quick note: wine tasting and pizza service start at 5:30pm, but the store itself opens earlier, and you can also grab sandwiches there.

Our first time here and we will definitely be back! The sandwiches are quality meat and so delicious! Parking is right in front of the shop but hard to get when it's busy.

Truly a wonderful place. I've spent over a decade traveling to Italy, and I've been all over the country. Bocconcino is the perfect place to indulge in all the Italian delicacies I've missed, from meats and cheeses to pizza, sandwiches, beer, and wine. The pizza is spectacular, especially the Margherita. And I was surprised by the wine prices. I picked up a bottle of Pinot Grigio from Friuli for $15, and they provided glasses and a bucket of ice with no corkage fee. I can't wait to try more things here, especially the pizza al taglio, which has always been my favorite snack in Italy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is fun and casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Seating is limited, but the communal tables make it easy to sit with others and maybe make a few new friends.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service is very friendly and professional. Ci tornerò presto!

Dinner in Kaka'ako, Honolulu, Hawaii... Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays, I had to time my visit so I could try the food. Bocconcino Hawaii stays open "late" on Saturdays for the pizza oven. Patrons can even buy something from the deli side - like a bottle of wine - and enjoy it with their pizza. Process: Pay inside the shop, then give your receipt to the pizza maker outside. They will deliver your pie to your table. Note: Get cups of iced water from the cashier and bring them with you outside. There's no indoor dining. I like to dine in because outdoor dining with no air-conditioning is a challenge for me. There was a fan blowing in one direction, but i couldn't feel anything. It was also noisy from the fan. I just wanted to leave after we finished. We ordered the Pistacchio e Mortadella (cured sausage) pizza. It had a Pesto base with extra virgin olive oil and Stracciatella (soft cheese). The chewy crust had a smokey flavor from the real pizza oven! Cut into four slices, it was delicious! Parking: We were there right before closing, so we parked in front of the shop. We asked if it was ok because there was a "tow away zone" sign. The pizza guys said we'd be alright... and we were!

Decided to grab lunch at bococino today, instead of ordering from the main menu i decided to get the special of the day "panino de girono". If you are into cooking Italian cuisine make sure to stop inside because they also have plenty of different ingredients for you to buy ranging from olive oil to burrata. The servers were very nice and everything looked very clean too! The panino I ordered was amazing! The panino del giorno is filled with Carpaccio, artichoke and a nice creamy ball of burrata and spinata i believe. You can taste how fresh all of the ingredients are from the bread down to the carpaccio. The size of my panini is pretty big too so it's definitely worth the price tag. Bococino also sells plenty of Italian ingredients and a huge selection of wine, so if you're like me who enjoys making home made pizza's a paninis stop on in and get your fixings. The staff is also very helpful and takes great pride in what they make so if you have any questions about the menu be sure to ask. Also from how clean the area is you can tell they really love their store! Please stop on by this great place and order yourself a panini or a pizza, I promise you will be wanting to go back every week for lunch. Just make sure to get here early before the lunch rush because you will be stuck trying to find parking. Until next time!

This little hole in the wall is a gem. Parking can be tricky. But it's worth the hassle. Parking is right in front of the entrance. The staff was so accommodating and sweet. Bella the daughter of the owner was very helpful and informative. She's definitely an asset to the business. The sandwhich I got was a home run. So simple and elegant yet tasteful and flavorful. It's a perfect combo of bread, mortadella meat, burrata cheese and pistachio spread. The pistachio isn't overwhelming, but brings a perfect balance to the sandwich. This place is definitely with a visit. It's fun to shop around while waiting for the food.

Timaree is the clerk who, 10 out of 10 times, brings the most genuine kindness and customer service I've experienced at Safeway, and honestly, anywhere. Warmly, June & Matthew

(Clueless workers, disgustingly dirty parking garage) I bought an SD card online, but it would take an extra day for the pickup to be ready. I went to the store to buy the SD card the same day. The clueless worker in the electronics section did not know where the SD card shown online was located. Tee in customer service spent time trying to locate the inventory in the system, she also informed me that there was another additional aisle of SD cars located in the gaming section that also had SD cards. She saved the day, thanks Tee!!!

I went to the Money Services counter, where I was told the fee to cash my check would be $8, which I was fine with. The associate tried twice to cash my check, but both attempts were denied. She told me she couldn't do the transaction and went off to lunch. I tried getting someone else to help me but he stated he was an operator not a manager. So her co-worker explained to me that it wasn't an issue with my identification. At first, I thought it might have been because the address on my passport wasn't current, so I provided another form of identification along with a piece of mail showing my name and mailing address. Unfortunately, that didn't make a difference. The associate explained that it may have been because it was my first time cashing a check of that amount at Walmart and suggested that I go directly to my bank instead. While I appreciated the associate's efforts in explaining it to me, the experience was still extremely disappointing. I had planned to use the money to buy groceries, but since I couldn't access my funds, I had to return everything I had picked out and leave empty-handed. It was a frustrating and discouraging end to an already long workday. I understand that policies and verification systems are in place for security, but I wish there had been a clearer explanation or an alternative solution to make it right with me. I was so disappointed, I just deposited the check through my own Chase mobile banking. A bank I haven't used in over a year and a half since I moved to Hawai'i. To make matters worse, the employees started discussing my situation in the corner in Tagalog as if I wasn't right there. I wish people didn't do that. Speak in another language thinking other people don't understand you. I speak Visaya, English, and Tagalog by the way. I was born in the Philippines and understand the language... It was just a very discouraging encounter. I walked out of Walmart trying not to sob because after two weeks of waiting for a paycheck, and not being able to go to the bank with my work hours, it's been incredibly difficult to have money in my pocket. I was really counting on Walmart to take care of me today. So, reluctantly, I took a picture of my check instead and deposited it through my mobile phone and now I have to wait days for it to go through. What a rough day.

One of my fondest childhood memories is going to Tamashiro Market with my dad…read more When we lived in Kalihi, this was our usual spot. And even after we moved, we would still drive out just to come here for the seafood. That's how special it was to us. The reason why he chose Tamashiro over other grocery stores was simple--it was quality and because of my Nanay (grandma). His mom purchased from here and made so many delicious dishes. He knew what to look for, and he trusted this place. For him, it wasn't just about buying food... it was about getting the best for his family. My dad isn't the type to say "I love you." He shows it. One of the biggest ways he showed love was through his cooking. Even after a long day on his feet cooking for others, he would come home and cook for us. That was his way of taking care of us. I loved coming here with him. It was a five-senses overload--the smell of fresh seafood, the sound of people talking story, the colors of fish on display. Back then when you were allowed to sample a grape or poke to make sure it was good before buying. But more than that, it was time with him. I still remember the excitement I felt when I saw the pink building with the huge crab. I thought back then was to look at everything but now I understand that it meant something more..... something special--time with my dad. It's with a sad heart that Tamishiro Market is now closed. Thank you, Tamashiro, for providing quality food and memories for so many years. You were more than a market--you were part of my childhood

Goodbye to another Hawaii landmark! Tamashiro Market is closing its doors on April 30, 2026…read more FPO and I went the Sunday before for one last tour of the legendary fish market. It looked the same as it did the first time I went with my grandfather. I picked up a couple pounds of dry aku for my favorite sister and some tee shirts as memorabilia. It was pretty busy and I expect that will continue until They close. Still, the people were nice and very helpful. I'm really going to miss it!
