WE FOUND IT! Finally. Our go-to Mexican restaurant in the area. After trying several, this is by far the best. This place serves up authentic Mexican food. It's flavorful and I want to eat it ALL. The chicken and beef tacos are awesome and the rice is some of the best Mexican rice I've had. Definitely worth the drive if you live in the surrounding area/suburbs. Carne a la Tampiqueña came on 2 plates! $18 for dinner and it was massive. The restuarant is split down the middle with carryouts on one side and sit down on the other. You can sit down on both sides. Not alot of room but the food is worth every penny and more. Burritos were back to the regular huge size that I remember from some of the other places. Tony's Mexican Grill has amazing carne asada. I usually like red salsa with Mexican food, but here I prefer the green salsa. It is very delicious. You can get grilled peppers and onions on the side, I really like the peppers. I have not tried a single thing here that I did not like. read more

Love Tony's Family Restaurant, but to me the Mexican Grill was one of the worst I've had in Mexican food. First off, they don't have their own website and we couldn't find their correct phone number online. We had to call the family restaurant for the phone #. The food... I got the steak tacos and the steak was fatty, dry, & rubbery and with no flavor. And the ingredients just didn't come together well at all. Also the rice was bland. And my wife got the enchiladas with beef and said it was dry and just didn't taste good. Ultimately, we couldn't finish our meals. For what it's worth, my 8 year old daughter did actually like the tacos. I'm not trying to trash this place because again, I do love their family restaurant. But to me this didn't come close to the taquerias that I used to always eat in the city (Pilsen, Little Village, et al). read more

Is incredible how this place went down hill in just a few years. I order beef fajitas the meat was so chewy and old it was tasteless. They used to give you grilled onions and Grilled jalapeño. Now Forget it , they slice big hamburger onions and are barely grill and half cooked jalapeños yuc . They were so greasy it took me 4 napkins to take all the grease off. Sorry Tony's the pandemic hit you hard.... but old meat is a big no no. Not coming back. don't buy elaborate plates just stick to the burritos and tacos. read more

I placed an order via telephone on Cinco de Mayo. Yes, I realize this is a holiday. I called and was told 20-30 minutes. At 40 minutes, I arrived to a line of people. I eventually got my turn and was told no order was received. I went through several employees with one telling me she would go to the manager and get me my order ASAP. She never came back. There was no order and employees were ignoring customers. I left with no food, no cares and aggravated. I tried to call in another order and the phone sent me to voicemail with a full mailbox. If you ask me the whole Tony's owners are getting too big for their britches and need to treat people better. I will never again eat in their restaurants again. I'll go elsewhere!! The food here is great! You get so much food for the price. Love the extras that they provide even to go. Love the fact that you have the option of getting your tacos on flour or corn (not sure why someone would want flour......just kidding my husband prefers them on flour.) I also love the new menu additions, especially the California burrito.....yum! I work nearby so I will call in my order and go pick it up, the food is ready very quickly and it always fresh and hot off the grill. Even when they are busy they are attentive and very friendly. The place is small and I have taken a larger group a couple times they were more than accommodating to getting us all setup. During the warmer months they do have outdoor seating so that is nice when it does get busy. read more

I love the food and the location is close and convenient. I always try something new, just so that I am able to give myself options when I go there. A couple things I would recommend is that the serves pay more attention to detail. This being is making sure you are checking up on the tables and not making them wait 10-15 mins for their tab. This place seems to be well loved. It was packed when we came in to get food. The people who worked there couldn't have been nicer and more helpful! We came in an ordered some food to go- a burrito and a steak quesadilla, plus chips and salsa. Since it was so packed, we had to stand around awkwardly to wait for our food, but the servers were apologizing to us for us having to shuffle around to not be in their way! The food came out super fast! And yeah, it was really good. Their steak is a shaved meat and therefore cooks up fast. It had fantastic flavor! It was the majority of the quesadilla, instead of the cheese, but I was OK with it. The guac it came with (I ordered the dinner) was also delicious. As was the chips and salsa. My guy enjoyed his burrito very much too. The parking lot here is really crappy- small and kind of run down. Park on the street if you can! I think this establishment is more in tune with low prices and high volume sales. That being said there is a quality issue. If you want a low cost fast meal. Have at it. For me. Without a shadow of a doubt, Tony's has some of the BEST Mexican food we've tried anywhere in our area--which is no small feat. I tried and would highly recommend the carne asada skirt steak for the relative bargain price of $12.95. I say "relative" because it's easily 2 meals even for a fully grown man like myself. Alternatively, whether you come here for the enchiladas, chimichangas, sopas, tacos, and/or burritos, you really can't go wrong with any of those options, either. Come to think of it this place reminds me of the Lego Movie actually, because everything here is AWESOME. The canteloupe juice is a great way to quench your thirst after savoring some of their spicier options (especially w/ the green sauce) and they make arguably the BEST Horchata that I have ever tried. My g/f and I also noticed they have Nehi in their soda beverage dispensers, an attentiveness to detail which is not easy to find these days. Ultimately, if more ethnic restaurants in our area conducted business the way Tony's does, then we would never have to (or want to) leave our area for authentic [and in this case Mexican] food at a terrific value. First off, anyone who rates this place under 4 stars doesn't know what they are talking about. This place is AWESOME! The place is clean. The staff is super friendly. The prices are good. And the portions are huge. You get a lot for your money. The carne asada, burrito, and fajitas dinners are excellent. The steak milanesa torta is awesome. As is the guacamole, if you like guac. The French fries are good, seasoned and really crispy. The chips & salsa and rice & beans are addictive as hell. Eat here and you will leave with a full, happy tummy! The only down side to this place is that it is small, and there aren't many tables available. So if it's busy you'll either have to wait for a table to open up, or take your order to go. read more

I visited Tony's based on the other great reviews and I wasn't the least bit sorry I did. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left, everything was perfect. I don't have one bad thing to say about the place. It was very clean. The service was great....very quick. The staff were all very friendly and the food was simply amazing. I ordered the burrito dinner which came with an oversized burrito, rice, beans, and guacamole.The portions are huge, so you will definitely get full!
