Requested bids and designs to remove all the grass in the backyard, install sitting walls around trees with flag stone steps and zero scape setting. The rabbits and voles wreaked havoc in our backyard. We've had to replace our lawn twice. Jeff with Rock Solid Landscaping responded. We agreed to meet and walk the yard. We wanted 3 mounds with larger rocks around with native plants. The crew started everyday at 7am and worked until 4pm. They were always on time and worked a full day. This job was completed in 2 weeks. They delivered a porta potty, bobcat in front of our home. They put cones for safety. They are very organized, when dirt, rocks were delivered they moved to backyard. Then they swept the street and/or driveway to keep clean. Our neighbors complemented on the nice job of keeping street clean. Juan Carlos and his 2 workers were very well organized. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. I asked for a few Day Lillie's be transplanted back into the area. They installed a new drip system with an extension for me to plant my small veggie garden. Not only did he listen to my ideas and talk about how to accomplish them, but he came up with additional ideas that were even better suited to our ultimate goal of a family-friendly yard. The fee is not refundable but it is applied to the project if you accept their bid. We said no. There was no other company who came and talked to us about the project who asked for a fee just to come out. We eventually went with someone else. Grand Design seems like they may do good work but save your $100 and call someone else. If their bid is the highest bid, you've given them $100 for nothing. There are others equally as good. If you do hire them, then you're $100 closer to paying the total. It's a gamble with your money.

He was the opposite of most sales people and we really liked that. Next, after we signed the agreement, they contacted the local utilities to mark/flag any underground lines and pipes. We did a walk-through with Jose, the project manager, he too had some great suggestions which we adjusted to. Then the work crew came the following week on time as scheduled. They were very professional, cleaned up each day and were very pleasant to interact with each day. The job took about 4.5 days to complete and came out better than expected. The job was the following: 1. install artificial turf replacing the existing live grass area; 2. install a paver pathway on the side yard from the gate to the existing paver work previously done by a different company and also extend it to our hot tub; 3. install pavers on either side of the driveway. As of today, 218 days have passed, and we have not seen any action taken. The weather is freezing, and the ground is becoming hard to work with, making it imperative to resolve this matter soon or to schedule a time in Spring 2025. Please provide me with a firm date when we can expect someone to address the column. We need at least 24 hours notice to ensure that someone is home to meet the repair team. Frank from Elite Curb and Concrete poured our driveway approximately a year ago and the job has…read morebeen a disaster. He is also the owner of Premium Lawn and Landscape. The concrete job he did cured out with large, white patches that have no color at all. The color was supposed to be the darker beige seen in the attached photos. We paid $70,000 for concrete work that looks like a giraffe. To make matters worse, this company does not stand by their work. The lack of professionalism has made us very angry. We waited months for Frank to even respond to our concerns only to be told he was waiting on a product to arrive that he felt might take off the white blotches. He lied as he never ordered any product. He lied. He then stated he would address the issue in the Spring when the heat had a chance to cure out the coloring. We did not hear back from him despite phone calls, emails and text messages. Summer arrived with record setting hot temperatures and nothing changed on the concrete. After the entire Summer of trying to get a hold of Frank, he then stated the concrete was normal because it was poured in the Winter and the blankets created "sweat spots". He wouldn't do anything further. We consulted with numerous concrete companies who all stated they had never seen this type of discoloration and they had poured thousands of jobs in the Winter with blankets used. We were told it looked as though the concrete may not have been mixed properly or it was a bad bath. Concrete may have some discoloration but this was not acceptable and highly unusual. We were told that staining it would not solve the issue because any color we chose would not absorb the same since the discoloration variation was too great. The only solution was to jack hammer up all the concrete and start over. The only thing we asked of Frank was to help us with a solution. He refused to even meet with us or have anyone from the concrete company come out to look at it. The other factor that may have contributed to this concrete issue, is that Frank never told us he did not have his own crew to work on our job. He was "scabbing" employees that could only work after hours once their day was completed with other companies. The crew didn't even arrive until late evening and the concrete was spread out during nightfall. This was NOT the contract we signed up for! We now are forced to take legal action against Elite Curb and Concrete which could have been avoided if Frank just communicated with us. I would NEVER recommend them as Frank was dishonest, deceitful and unprofessional. See photos attached and see if this kind of a concrete job would be acceptable if this were your home.
