Furthermore, during your physical visit on June 24, 2024, you assured me someone would come out within a week to address this issue. As of today, 218 days have passed, and we have not seen any action taken. The weather is freezing, and the ground is becoming hard to work with, making it imperative to resolve this matter soon or to schedule a time in Spring 2025. Please provide me with a firm date when we can expect someone to address the column. We need at least 24 hours notice to ensure that someone is home to meet the repair team. I am giving four stars only because we had to wait 6 months after our down payment to get the job started. I understand there is a shortage of workers and I have to say Luis, the superintendent on our job did everything in his power to move our project along once it got started. Luis is friendly and easy to work with but the stars of our show were Juan(Mr. Jackhammer), Miguel(Foreman) and Joel(labor). It took 1-1/2 days to break out our old concrete patio and Juan did a terrific job. We were temporarily halted by snow for a couple of days but Miguel and Joel came back on the weekend to finish. The results are remarkable. We can't believe the difference in our backyard after putting pavers in. Frank from Elite Curb and Concrete poured our driveway approximately a year ago and the job has been a disaster. He is also the owner of Premium Lawn and Landscape. The concrete job he did cured out with large, white patches that have no color at all. The color was supposed to be the darker beige seen in the attached photos. We paid $70,000 for concrete work that looks like a giraffe. To make matters worse, this company does not stand by their work. The lack of professionalism has made us very angry. We waited months for Frank to even respond to our concerns only to be told he was waiting on a product to arrive that he felt might take off the white blotches. He lied as he never ordered any product. He lied. He then stated he would address the issue in the Spring when the heat had a chance to cure out the coloring. We did not hear back from him despite phone calls, emails and text messages. Summer arrived with record setting hot temperatures and nothing changed on the concrete. After the entire Summer of trying to get a hold of Frank, he then stated the concrete was normal because it was poured in the Winter and the blankets created "sweat spots". He wouldn't do anything further. We consulted with numerous concrete companies who all stated they had never seen this type of discoloration and they had poured thousands of jobs in the Winter with blankets used. We were told it looked as though the concrete may not have been mixed properly or it was a bad bath. Concrete may have some discoloration but this was not acceptable and highly unusual. We were told that staining it would not solve the issue because any color we chose would not absorb the same since the discoloration variation was too great. The only solution was to jack hammer up all the concrete and start over. The only thing we asked of Frank was to help us with a solution. He refused to even meet with us or have anyone from the concrete company come out to look at it. The other factor that may have contributed to this concrete issue, is that Frank never told us he did not have his own crew to work on our job. He was "scabbing" employees that could only work after hours once their day was completed with other companies. The crew didn't even arrive until late evening and the concrete was spread out during nightfall. This was NOT the contract we signed up for! We now are forced to take legal action against Elite Curb and Concrete which could have been avoided if Frank just communicated with us. I had received a quote from a different local landscaping company to redo our front yard in 2022. After deciding to hold off for the time being, we were finally ready to pull the trigger this spring of 2024. I contacted Premium Lawn & Landscapes to get a second quote/design to compare to the one we received in 2022, and Frank was out at the house within a couple days to take a look. After walking the yard with us, Frank said he would come up with a design and be back in week to go over it. A week later Frank presented the design and went over the pricing with us. We loved the design Frank and his designer came up with and the quote beat the one we had received 2 years prior! Once we signed the agreement and gave Frank a deposit of 30 percent, we did have to wait 8 weeks for the crew to start the work, but that was to be expected. Once the crew started the work the superintendent Terry took over as the point of contact and he was in contact with us on a daily basis to go over updates and make sure things were exactly how we envisioned them to be. We could not be happier working with Terry and his 2 man crew (and also Luis who filled in for Terry while he was gone for a few days). Terry went above and beyond to make sure everything stayed on track and corners weren't cut, which is not always the case with other companies. Terry even stopped by on the weekends just to check on the yard and water the existing plants and trees that weren't removed with the demo. This was a fairly large project and it was completed in 8 weeks from start to finish. We couldn't be more pleased with the end results and had a fantastic experience. We would highly recommend working with Frank and his team of skilled employees if you have the opportunity, you won't be disappointed! read more

Had to wait a short time for the project to start which wasn't too long, once it got started, everything went vey well! We had several very good references to use Frank's company... Frank was easy to work with on getting estimates and project ideas. Luis and Terry as the Project Mgrs were excellent at responding, communicating and making sure things were scheduled and moved along smoothly. Elena and Marco were very diligent at completing the job and worked hard. The quality of the work and the finish is very good, we like it very much and are enjoying what we asked for. Nine months after handing a hefty check to Premium Lawn and Landscape, they got to our project. Once they started, they were here everyday and completed our relatively large project pretty quickly. The yard and fireplace is beautiful. We were assigned Luis as the project manager and he communicated well and responded to our questions. We also added a few things that were not on the original quote which they completed without delay. If you can handle a large delay and lack of communication up front, the work turns out nice once they get started. I also believe we had to be a loud squeaky wheel to push the project forward. I think if we kept quite, we might still be without a yard so you do have to badger them a little. read more

A bit disappointed after everything was said and done. This project cost us over $7,000 by the end but was anything but $7,000 worth of quality and I am left having to go back over most of it. Once they started, it was great seeing it all coming together. But from the beginning there were communication issues between the project manager and the people doing the concrete. We never really were 100% sure of what it would look like because of this. My wife even asked for a drawing twice and never received anything. Once the concrete dried and the project finished, they came back and edged only one side of our patio. The other side that goes out to the lawn looks sloppy as can be and has concrete oozing out as far as 5" from the edge of the actual patio. I asked if they were going to finish this edge as well but the project manager said no because grass will fill it in and eventually grow up to the patio. How is grass going to grow across 5" of concrete and the other areas similar to that? As you can see from the pictures, it's not a nice clean edge at really any point along the outer side. Then for the side of the house, there was even more miscommunication as the workers didn't originally know they were supposed to include a drain leading to the front. We added river rock down the side as well (which I thought was basically required based on the original conversation) but would have liked to paved it across from house to fence (not all on them there since I should have clarified better). As you can see from the pictures again, the pipe for a drain isn't even buried deep enough to be covered up, so now I have a awkward bulge in my lawn, which is fun to deal with when mowing. I also need to get more dirt/grass from the backyard to actually finish burying it completely. Then comes the step. First, we tried to get some kind of shortened ramp there, knowing it won't be perfect and super nice since it's limited space. Originally we were told they would be able to do that and it won't be a problem. We didn't find out until after the concrete was poured and everything was done that a ramp wasn't going to actually work out there at all - unless we added a sidewalk to wrap around to the driveway out front. So now we have an awkward 6-7" drop off to deal with when wheeling the garbage cans around. Then, there is concrete all across the ground leading up to it, almost looking like some spilled. That's all thick and hardened across the ground there, which means I have to dig it out myself with a shovel and wait for grass to grow back again. So, after spending over $7,000 for a basic as can be patio. I am left having to chisel out an edge along the outside of the patio, deal with an awkward 6-7" drop off that wasn't supposed to be there, finish burying a large pvc pipe, and dig up an area of spilled over concrete and plant grass seeds. This is the quality of using cheap day laborers that you pay $500 to do, not using a professional landscaping company that you paid over SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. Edit: added by my wife: We were excited to get our backyard project underway but as it was going and as questions came up we learned that this is not the company to go to you if you plan on having your questions answered or being respected while going through a home improvement project. When I had questions about the project I tried to call our contractor but it turned out that he had suffered a death in the family. At any other company someone else would've been given permission to talk to his clients on their behalf. I had two workers sitting in my backyard doing nothing for hours because I couldn't get in contact with the contractor in order to ask him a question. I called every number we had for the company. This lasted u til 6 pm and they guys kept knocking on my door saying "it's time for you to make a decision." Well, I couldn't, I hadn't heard from our contractor. I asked them to leave. The guys at the contracted cement company kept wanting to do add onto the project. They said multiple times that they would need to come back and do other work, but "without Bill" and "off the books." That was confusing. I have compassion for Bill, but I would've expected that with the level professionalism advertised and going with such a reputable company they would have had someone cover for him. It took us threatening to cancel the work in order to finally hear back from somebody. Once I finally reached Bill, I asked for a drawing of our project so I could see the big picture and make decisions off of that. Bill ignored me 3x and never acknowledged this request. He said he'd come out and walk us through everything. I took the morning off work for this meeting and waited for him. He never showed. He said he talked to the workers, but didn't loop us in. We just finished our backyard job and it turned out beautiful. Luis and his team were absolutely wonderful to work with - great communication from him and his team did excellent work. Very clean, job site was always well maintained and spotless when they finished. Design and choices were great, Frank and Luis were great to work with in this respect. I will agree with most other reviews - it did take forever to get the just started - initial start was supposed to be Sept 22 - job started May 1 23. Full disclosure we did have the crazy winter of the century so that did delay a few months, but had they started in Sept as promised the job would probably have been done before winter. Frank promised us a complete backyard and a beautiful shade structure which we never received. He will try to say that we "canceled" the structure, but that isn't true. We signed a contact with him in December of 2019 and he still didn't have the structure as of August of 2020!! He lies about submitting things, won't send proof that things have been submitted or paid for etc. He never answers his phone or returns emails in a timely fashion because he has a full time job pushing paperwork at the local sheriffs office. Trusted Frank in the beginning, however once you hand him the money, he drags his behind and ignores you. I believe he takes from Peter and plays Paul. Our project took 10 months to start after we gave our deposit. After the project was done, not even a month, things started to fall apart. The patio cover was not sealed and the electrical is exposed which caused the recessed lights to fill up with water. Called immediately to let them know and it's now going into the 4th month and it's been a run around. In February Frank Torres said he ordered the flashing from a company called Amerimax and he was going to have b them expedite the order. It's now March and Frank will not give me an ETA. On March 3rd, we texted back and forth and was told that I am not to text him anymore and MUST email if I want a response and I am not to communicate with our foreman during our project. Begin emailing and it's now 3/21 and he is no longer answering my emails. Prior to the email stopping, he indicated that electrician was scheduled to show up on 3/20. Electrician no show instead the owner came and said that Frank was told his company needed to seal the patio cover and add the flashing top cover all exposed electrical. This is what I had to deal with for over a year. I asked him to cancel around June 2022 before any ground breaking started but Mr. Torres said no I could not because we were deep into the contract. We didn't even have the permits approved. He is a LIAR and I believe he owes money to his suppliers and that's why he can't get parts. He is probably looking for his next client to scam. To top it off, he works for the Sherriff's Office. Frank, I believe in KARMA and it will hit you hard. Make things right. read more

Very disappointed. Our contract states Premium guarantees trees and plants for a year after they are planted. They did our landscaping in September 2019. In Late April 2020 we contacted them to report we had two large junipers, one tulip tree and 14 plants die due to incomplete drip system function. They have been dickering around since then saying they will get to it when they get to it. Waiting patiently for several months now. General run around. Not at all happy with them as we spent a boatload of money to have a professional job done and they do not honor their contract. We would NOT recommend them. We had a great experience with Mark and his crew. Every communication was responded to quickly and professionally. Once we were able to coordinate a schedule for the maintenance on our yard the crew was at our house within 15 mins. They were very thorough and asked several questions to make sure they understood exactly what we wanted. They cleaned up everything as they worked and worked quickly and efficiently. They did an amazing job and we are very happy with the service we received. We will definitely be using their services again and for other projects as well. read more

Not sure where to start. Started with a Layout that went totally wrong from the start. Here is my expirence: Scheduling, HA no such thing. It took THREE MONTHS to complete and the job got smaller and smaller. Quality HA again no such thing. It cracked it a few days. Now it has cracks similar to my drive way that is 12 years old and has cars on it everyday.Blames his employee's for every short coming and quality. In their defense they have no supervision and do not have the authority to make decisions that affect quality. YOU DECIDE! Response, very weak at best, why? because the owner is working for the Sheriffs department and trying to run the business at the same time. Answering service that may or maynot get a response from owner. Follow up, don't hold you breath for a follow through. I writting my complaint to the contractors board just before writting this review. It took roughly three plus months to do my patio and step. Reality it should have been roughly 2 weeks. After three weeks it is cracking all over the pad and steps. Washed down standing water in several spots. Almost all expansion joints cracked though to soil. Movement in several locations. The fact there is no rebar and no wire in pour leaves me with the thought that next year after freeze my patio will be lifted in may locations. I suspect freeze cracks will appear everywhere because of standing water running throuht cracks.. I've had other contractors out to inspect the quality. Not looking good so far, waiting for written reports. Called and scheduled for the owner to come back and review. Missed both self made appointments. Making all kinds of statements and claims now with no action. Very typical of the job from the start. Started looking into options to have the Contractors Board to step in and take legal action to solve my issues. Owner last statement was he would wait for the Board to contact him. " I will wait til they notify me" Ie. the Contractor board. I hope this review is helpful folks. Personally if I can avoid them coming back I will. If I could give this contractor zero stars I would but I guess 1 star is as low as you can go. I am an experienced property owner, having many properties in 3 different states and have done many projects. I also have never written a negative review of any business in my life. I believe in local business owners and respect their challenges, but the service and treatment by this contractor was the most unprofessional I have ever experienced. My prior landscaper retired, so I looked for a new contractor to help remove a weathered concrete walkway, install paver and xeriscape a small front area. While Premier's bid was the only that broke the 20k mark, I went with them based on the commitments to help file things with the HOA, it could be started in a few months would take a few weeks and what they explained was a commitment to doing it right. Unfortunately, they are very good at the sales pitch but once you make your deposit, all friendly verbal commitments change and there is no commitment to anything, especially doing it right. After I wrote the deposit check, I never once saw the "Designer" again. Doesn't matter, that he was the only individual that walked through the details of my job, he never once returned. I had also originally explained, I could only do the pavers AND xeriscaping if there was support with the HOA, as I was just too busy to go through those steps. I was told they do the HOA filings all the time so not a problem however once deposit was paid (and three months passed), they suddenly didn't do that, and it was not in the contract. When that changed, I asked for them to just do the pavers and or return my deposit, however they refused stating I would forfeit the entire amount. I was told in June of 2023, it would take a few weeks and start in a few months and despite the fact I live in the foothills and get a lot of snow, they started in December and left in April of 2024. When I presented a concern of planting in December at our elevation, and even after speaking with arborists who recommended against it, I got weeks of arguing and again references to their legal contract and insisting it was ok to plant in January. I especially loved coming home to a wet mess in January as they had left my hose on, connected to my house overnight, and of course the hose bib froze, cracked and made a mess. A positive was one of lead workers, explained the "Designer's" design didn't look right, and recommended changing the walk way, of course at my cost of another $1,425 of pavers, but he was right and I agreed without any question. The topper was after 3 months of having no front walkway, just when you think this is going to come to end, they install the wrong rock. To be clear, they were just matching the existing lava rock that is all around my yard, easy to get, and of course clearly discussed with the designer. Yet they instal the cheapest lava rock they could get their hands on. When identified in the middle of them installing, and asked for them to make it right, they refused and hid behind their contract expecting me to know the difference of mocha lava rock vs. whatever I have. I guess, as the consumer you are supposed to know the names of all the available lava rock to insure it is accurately listed, despite holding what is all over your yard in your hand with the designer. Every step of the way the owner will blame and argue with you and hide behind their beloved contract. They have no desire to make it right and considerably overcharge for their quality of work. I now have to spend hundreds of dollars to correct their mistake and have wasted countless hours dealing with a ridiculously small project. Highly do NOT recommend. read more

I had work done on my backyard and side yards a few months ago, and while the work on my back yard's redesign was nice looking, I have since had serious issues with drainage, standing water, and my dogs being able to escape from the yard. My area which was supposed to be made nice and comfortable for my puppies is now a disgusting moldy swamp and the company refuses to to take any responsibility for the issues that have been created since the work was done. I have tried to address the problem a many times with them and all they tell me is to adjust my sprinkler setting. Then when they are adjusted and the problems remain, they call me a liar and again tell me that none of this is my responsibility. Now one of our dogs is very ill, I have had to reinforce the sides and front of my fence to keep them from running away, my foundation is probably being ruined, and my neighbor's yard is beginning to get soaked from mine. All in all, I spent $3000 so I can have a fucked up yard and ruin the foundation of my home. I was better off in every way before calling these clowns. read more

Frank Torres and his crew performed work to install a concrete patio in my backyard. We pursued a quote in April-May and then signed the proposal in May. He was so busy that he set the expectation for 8 weeks from that point until the work would start. True to his word, it was almost 8 weeks to the day and our patio work begun in mid-July. The work completed over the course of two weeks due to the need for an installation of a gas line (digging a trench, which Frank's crew performed) and hiring a separate plumber to install the line and get it permitted and inspected by the city. Once the gas line was approved, Frank's crew finished in a matter of days. I asked for a stamped wood pattern on the concrete patio and it looks great. The only thing that I would say is that up to the time when the work began, Frank was scarce to return a reply. However, during the work he replied and all went well. His guys not only poured and stamped the patio, but they also came back and sealed it with its first seal. When I bought my house the builder wouldn't seal any of the grout work around the house, so when Frank's crew sealed our patio, it was a huge bonus in my eyes and I am very grateful for his professionalism and the courtesy of his workers while on site. So disappointed with this company. We put our trust in what we thought was an honest, hard working guy. Frank stood in our home and made us promises and didn't follow through on any of them. From the time we wrote Premium a check to completion was more than 4 months, we were promised 6-8 weeks. The sod that was laid has struggled to grow and every seam can be seen. I have been asking for dead plants to be replaced (we were told that there is a 1-year warranty on all plants) since the beginning of May and it is nearing the end of June, still no replacements. Now I am being told that his company used wasn't his drawing so he won't replace all of the plants. He told us at our first meeting that he didn't like the drawing we gave him and he would re-do the plans and include that in our estimate, we never saw another drawing or rendering. He told us it might take longer than other companies but that we would not find more quality workmanship. This has certainly not been our experience. The drainage in our backyard has been a huge issue since the work was completed and yet no attempt to resolve the issue has been made even though I have asked several times. I have yet to receive a call from Frank even though the 2 people I have talked to know how unhappy we are. We have also discovered that there is a leak in our irrigation and are hoping this company will stand behind their work at some point and make things right....so we don't have more dead plants. I'm struggling to find something positive so on that note, I will generously give the company three stars because our concrete and pavers look great and so far there are no signs of cracking. read more

We contracted with them to completely rebuild our back and side yard landscaping! We had them replace stairs, add a cement stage, add a retaining wall, rebuild and add to our pavers. Be prepared for poor quality and poor customer service. They were hired and paid in full to do my complete backyard in my newly constructed home. After one month of install, the plants started dying. The GM, Frank said to just water more often and the plants would come back. One more month later, plants continued to die. I analyzed drip system and discovered missing parts (ie emitters, end caps, etc). There was no water coming from many of the drip lines and air continued to just push out for entire 20 minutes with no water. Frank said that is normal and the line is just charging.....Charging for the entire 20 minutes, my ass!!! After another month, contacted Frank for warranty replacement as plants continued to die. He said he would not honor as it was only a 60-day warranty even though he was the one that said keep watering and the plants will come back. Funny thing is my executed quote, specifically states a 3year warranty plus 365 day limited warranty, no mention of a 60-day plant warranty. I am now working with my lawyer, filing a complaint with the contractors board and will sue Premium landscape for providing an inadequate watering system and not honoring their warranty. read more

This is the first time I have ever publicly issued a complaint but after numerous attempts to get service as promised I feel this company needs to step up to the plate and give what's promised. I signed up with this company hoping to get my yard looking good as they promised. It wasn't that bad in the beginning as I had just hired someone to aerate, fertilize, weed and prune. So was hoping to have someone keep it up and Not just a mow and blow. I signed up for full yard care which promised . I have contacted the company by email every week with photos asking them to please address the problem. The only response I have received is #1 when I went from bi-weekly to weekly hoping to give ample time to address the problem. Obviously, their work is beautiful. We didn't use them but our neighbors did. Here's what you need to know though. A month to complete a smaller backyard. Their employees blocked our driveway numerous times without any contact to even see if we needed to leave. We live in in an hoa where supplies aren't supposed to be dumped on the streets but they left pallets of pavers and sod on our street in addition to several yards of top soil and rock. Our street is very narrow so this was an inconvenience to the entire street. To top it off on garbage day they moved our can to make room for themselves and didn't put it back. I'm very upset now as there is a small excavator parked directly in front of our house now. They planted a huge tree right next to the fence so when it grows we will be having root and branch issues. What would have made it better is if they had the decency to ask us if things were okay instead of putting us out. OK GUYS, CHILL! I read all the reviews before I selected Premium to do the landscaping and concrete work in our home in sparks. We took several bids, and, although Frank was not the least expensive, his was the best, and most professional design. We selected Premium for those reasons. When I called the other co.'s to let them know of our decision, the "runner-up" said Frank was good, and he was sure we would be pleased. Since this was done just as winter was coming (it was HERE!), Frank told us he would not do any planting until the spring, which was fine with us. Everything is now completed... Sidewalks, patio slab, and all plantings completed. Things did not happen as quickly as we would have liked, possibly because of my misplaced expectations, possibly because Frank IS busy (because they ARE good, and in demand), and likely because this winter has not been the best for concrete pouring, curing, etc... Which held everything else up. Anyway, we are DELIGHTED with the finished product, delighted with the follow-up by Terry (the supervisor for all the landscaping) - who still drops by to ensure that the sprinklers are set properly, and re-adjusted as required, and delighted with the selection and maturity/condition of all the vegetation. Terry was also great with his communications, which was important to us. He told us when things would start and complete, and always advised us when that schedule had to be changed. Kudo's!!! SO... manage your expectations, give them time to do their work, and Premium Lawn and Landscapes (and Elite Concrete) will do a great job for you. If all the negative posts here were indicative of the work they did, they would likely not be in business anymore, and certainly not as busy as they are! read more

Besides the little communication between Frank and us, the work performed was mediocre. There are lots of visible seams in the artificial turf in a high traffic walking area. We had to clean up an area from the old grass they pulled up! The workers left our rock work scraped hap hazardly so we had to replace with more river rock. We also had to add base to one side of the driveway ( where there was none ) and had to tamp down the base ( which I requested them to get) in the front of the driveway. The paver work is o.k with minimal unevenness, nothing to say, "WOW" to. When we showed these to the project manager, his words were, "We are finished with this project." It seemed the workers had very little direction as WE had to tell them about the drains and dimensions and what style of pavers were to be put down!! Basically, we had higher expectations from this company. read more

Frank and his crew were very easy to work with, got the job done incredibly quickly (in fact faster than they'd originally quoted us) and the result is beautiful. My husband and I really couldn't be happier with our gorgeous stamped concrete patio. When we met with Frank he was kind enough to suggest that an exposed aggregate border might look nice, and I was so pleased with his suggestion. Frank and his team are AWESOME to work with. I have no talent for design, or for visualizing what a finished redesign would look like, and no patience for dealing with yard work. I called several contractors and gave them a very vague list of what I was looking for. Frank came in, looked at my yard, created a design that was professionally presented, and worked with me on budget. At the end of the project I had a beautifully designed, modern back yard that will require almost no maintenance which is exactly what I wanted. I was worried that I might have problems with the trees and shrubs dying off over the winter, but they are already coming into bloom! Except for raking a few leaves and turning the sprinklers back on, I won't have anything to do in the yard this summer. He was patient and willing to modify our backyard plans until we were 100% satisfied with our future backyard. Let's see. I called, spoke to someone and they said someone would call me back to schedule an appointment to come out and give me an estimate on concrete curbing as well as landscape work. No one called back. I then sent in the form on their website, describing my location (Somersett) and still, no one called back or acknowledged my requests. I guess they don't need the work, or have the courtesy to call back say their either 1) out of business, or 2) don't need the work. I needed to have a walkway and 2 small concrete retaining walls put in to add some much needed curb appeal and he took our design and executed it perfectly to fit in the space we had available. Mike Kelly, the project designer was awesome in seeing our desires in a back and front yard. He saw our vision and helped add to it to make our dream landscaping. Terry, the project supervisor was absolutely awesome. He checked in with us everyday to let us know the plan for the day and ask our input. The two Hispanic gentleman that did most of the work for 5 weeks were great. They even worked non stop during the Rim Fire that produced so much smoke here in Reno. I'd have given no stars if that was an option. I'm glad everyone else had a good experience with this company, but they were nothing but terrible and frustrating for me. I got a livingsocial deal for them, $249 for $1000 worth of landscaping, which seemed like a pretty good deal to me. All I wanted was some landscaping rock installed in my backyard around my grass and patio. At first I thought I might be able to fit a couple of Juniper bushes into the plan as well. I told Frank the budget was $1000, and he sent me an estimate for $1800 including a drip system to the bushes even though I told him I didn't want one! I asked him to cut it down to the bare minimum and after going around and around about it he managed to do so and get it back to the budget with just the rock, no weed cover. Then I went to Home Depot and found the rock for considerably less than what they were going to charge me for it per square yard. I asked Frank if he could just get the rock from Home Depot, and he rudely responded that he would not do so, nor would he drop his prices to match theirs. Frustrated and annoyed, I gave up and accepted my ugly, rockless backyard. A year later I decided to suck it up and contact them again because my yard was getting muddy again. They sent out Mike this time. I don't know why they needed anyone to come out to my house again, when all they did was pull my yard's measurements from the internet last time, and all I wanted was the rock, but he came out anyway so I could tell him exactly what I had told him on the phone. This was a Monday, he told me he would get me the estimate by "the middle of the week." I asked him if we could get started on the project the next week and he looked at me like I was an idiot and said, "Oh no! We have so many projects going on right now with this dry weather, and we don't like to jump around to get them done, we will get to you in about 4 or 5 weeks." Super. My other landscaper gets things done within a week or two, but he didn't have the livingsocial coupon, so fine. Wednesday came and went with no estimate. Finally by the next Wednesday, but my phone wasn't working, so I called his cell and left him a voicemail asking him to just leave me me a message as to how much it was going to be. Then my phone started working again before he called back. He emailed me the estimate for $250 over the budget and for DG Mulch. So I called him back and left him another voicemail asking him if DG Mulch is the same as the DG I had in mind and just double checking that this was still made of crushed rock and looked something like pea gravel rather than it being actual mulch made of wood, because maybe we had gotten our signals crossed. Nonetheless I said to put it on the books, I'd pay for it, I just want it to get done... someday. He never called me back, so the next day, extremely annoyed by this point, I sent him an email asking him to please clarify what he means by DG mulch and making sure he gets me on the books before more projects come in and I'm stuck not getting my work done for even longer since it's already taken him an extra week just to get me the dang estimate! He responded very rudely to me (but almost immediately, imagine that), about the DG mulch but still didn't explain hardly anything about it and got mad at me that I had just frustratingly started the email as "Hey....." stating that "his name is Mike, not Hey." Well I'm sorry but someone who takes THAT long to get back to someone about anything ever is not being treated like a valued customer. Heck I wasn't even being treated like anything more than a second class citizen at that point, probably because I wasn't spending thousands of dollars on their awful service. So the moral of the story is, if you're a millionaire with a huge budget, these guys *might* be nice enough to you to secure your business, but don't expect it to get done in any sort of timely manner or to be treated well while they do it. After the rude email Mike sent back to me, I told him to forget about it. I called liviingsocial and settled for a credit back to my account for the money I had wasted on them. I said I'd be fine with not getting a full refund back to my card as long as that horrid business didn't get any of my money, no matter how unimportant it was to them. I'd rather pay someone else full price or do it myself than support people like that. At this point, they couldn't pay me to let them work on my yard. The one and only good thing about this company, is that their receptionist is very nice and polite. Perhaps they should take lessons from her. read more
