Riley's is located inside of one of the antique malls on Glassell St in Orange Circle. Besides services he offers an extensive selection of unique estate and custom pieces. I was in search of a new wedding ring set as mine was not practical for everyday wear. I searched in many different jewelry shops but I specifically wanted an estate piece preferably from the 70s or 80s as I like the art deco classic style. I browsed through Riley's selection as I always do when in the area and there it was. I saw the ring, tried it on and it was a perfect fit! I am so happy with the ring it's perfect for everyday wear does not get caught on anything and the thick gold band is my favorite and exactly what I wanted. If the ring doesn't fit he will size it for you and they offer free cleaning service, I stopped by a couple months after buying the ring and he cleaned it and made it look super shiny at no cost, awesome service! I was trying to figure out how long I've been coming to Dan Riley. Pretty sure it's over 20 yrs. Dan has done lots of repairs, replace lost stones, sizing, odd repairs. He's a really nice guy, very honest and fair and he does great work. I trust him fully. I have purchased several of his items, rings, necklaces, cross. But the high light was when I wanted a new wedding set. I searched every store in about 25 mile radius. I went to his shop and there was an amazing engagement ring, I fell in love. As it turned out he had created it. I loved the hand etching on the band. He said he could make the wedding band, he did and the set is perfect! I also brought him my original wedding set, from '71 he replaced the missing diamond and did the antique painting which was in back then. He did a great job. My latest challenge was a bracelet I've worn for 14 yrs everyday. It was literally falling apart, but I love it. He basically remade the whole thing it is brand new & fabulous. I love Dan. He's done a fair amount of work for me over the years from custom pieces (which he does wonderfully) to repairs to selling me some good quality jewelry. I recently purchased something from him on layaway. What really sold be on Dan is when my daughter brought her diamond engagement ring to him to be sized. He took the time to show her how to really see her diamond in a loop and to know that it was hers by becoming familiar with the couple of tiny inclusions it had. She was nervous about turning it over to anyone to size but he made her feel totally comfortable by taking some time to educate her. I've clicked the $$$ pricey Price Range only because he does carry some quality higher end pieces. Just because he's inside an antique mall doesn't mean he only sells small stuff. Dan Riley has a cool shop inside of Antique Station in the Old Town Orange area. Seriously, THE BEST when it comes to antique engagement rings. He is a MASTER CRAFTSMAN , the type which generally no longer exists in this day and age. He buys antique rings from estate sales and such and restores them to there original beauty, sometimes making them even better than they were when first created. My fiance bought me my engagement ring from Mr. Riley in 2011, an art deco stunner with diamonds and sapphires from 1929. I get stopped on the street regularly with people (women mostly, of course haha) with compliments on my ring. Seriously, you cannot find better service and quality. They don't make rings like they used to, and antique rings nowadays look old and worn. Go to Rileys for the best of both worlds- a completely unique, antique and beautiful engagement ring (that no one else will ever come close to having) that looks brand new. He also makes his own jewelry and has great taste overall. His selection may look small, but every piece is of the utmost beauty and elegance. You will not regret going.
