    Lemon Sherbet

I recently came here with my girlfriend and two other couples, to celebrate someone's birthday. This is a very nice place. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Once we were all seated, we started out ordering some drinks. I really enjoyed the red sangria. That seemed to be a big hit for the table; but other lived their mixed drinks they ordered. For our meals, we ordered the paella and filet mignon, and decided to split them both. The paella was excellent. The seafood was very fresh of course and everything just blended together great. The filet mignon steak was pretty tasty as well. They provide you with plenty of sides with your meals, so the food portions are quite large when you factor this in. We had some food left over that we took home to enjoy the next day. To end the night there, we tried the lemon sherbert dessert, and this was a nice refreshing choice. Overall, this place has great food, and we all really enjoyed ourselves hanging out here.

I was recently introduced to Rincon de Espana by a client who wanted to meet there for dinner. The experience was so excellent, that a month later I returned for another dinner. Rincon de Espana offers meals that feel home cooked with very generous portions. The filet mignon and sirloin steak were excellent, and my colleagues raved about the seafood platters. When dining at Rincon de Espana, it feels like you've been transplanted to Old Europe. The service and decor invoke a nostalgic feel. For dessert, try the flan... and if you're bold - their Irish Coffee that is full of booze! The only minor complaint against Rincon de Espana is that the Sangria tasted a bit diluted.

Eight out of ten messages I receive through Yelp are unpleasant. How can you like that place? You must be out of your mind! How could you NOT like this place? A message I received the other day did nothing to change this reality. I was chatting with my son about where to go on our next birding adventure and more importantly, where to eat. We decided to go to the Ocean Terminal in Bayonne and then Rincon de Espana for dinner. In a truly weird coincidence, my phone alerted me to an incoming email. Great, another Yelp message. What now? How can you like Rincon de Espana, the Yelper inquired. You like frozen vegetables and reconstituted potatoes? Go to Newark and learn what real food tastes like. So we went to Rincon anyway. A friendly welcome, a half pitcher of white sangria and some chorizo got things off to a nice start. My son had the special two pound sirloin steak-medium rare. I had the veal in almond sauce. Yellow rice. Spanish potatoes. Everything was delicious. The steak was grilled to order, the veal was tender and potatoes were crisp. We asked for no veggies but they were brought anyway. Yes, they are the frozen variety. They shouldn't be. We skipped them as we always do. Rincon serves up some good food. We like it here. If you don't, I'm sorry.

Another EXCELLENT dinner / birthday celebration at Rincon de Espana! I just don't get the negative reviews. Looks at this food!! Consistently excellent for 20+ years (started going with my husband's family when we were just dating). The chorizo appetizer and escargot were excellent as always. I love the pork with almonds other of our party of 8 ordered the steak, lobster, paella. Everyone was raving about the deliciousness and huge portions. Oh - and the Sangria is the best you'll ever have. Not too sweet, lots of fruit. We order the white as personal preference. They make red too. Servers have been there for years. Wonderfully attentive gentlemen. Go! You won't be disappointed.

Stuffed Shrimp , Steak in mushroom sauce , chicken ! Food was excellent ! Staff was excellent ! Sangria was excellent ! Highly recommend!

Celebrated mine & a friends birthday here in a large group. Everyone ordered something different. The soup was very good. I had the paella marinera. It was tasty but the rice & lobster were very dry. I tried others dishes--shrimp in green sauce, clams creole, stuffed cod, shrimp in wine sauce & the stuffed mushrooms. All delicious & very flavorful. I would go back but definitely try something different. Sangria both red & white were VERY good. Waiter gave us a complimentary crab salad which was delicious & also both birthday girls received a complimentary flan with candle. I don't care for flan, but the others all said it was very good.

So I used to really like this place, until I started going to all of the Portuguese places in Newark. it's good for Bayonne and the service is excellent but the food is pretty bland, unless you get garlic shrimp or chicken. The sangria is just ok. I still come here sometimes with my bff who loves this place, but if I want really good Portuguese food and sangria then I'm going to Newark.

The about of money i spent was went to waste. I came to this conclusion bayonne nj has the worst hispanic food ever. Same crappy flavor. Im really pissed off. I over paid for food i only took two spoon full the sweet potato was so under cooked it got stuck i didnt panic i took a drink and thank god i threw up everything. Im furious. They have a staff that have no restaurant experience and it really shows they are all over the place. Poor food poor service never again ever will i go there this is the third time ive been there. First time it was crao second time pretty good third time tasted like crap and i almost choked.. extremely poorly unorganized . Very unprofessional service.. An extremely very expensive overpriced . I spent almost $50 and the food was shit. There's a place in Union City same exact food. It would've came out to about $18. If you really want Hispanic food go to El Unico in Union City on Park Avenue between 42nd and 43rd St. I recommend this place because it's cheap. It's 100 times better food than this dump. And the price of food is very extremely reasonable . It's a shame that union city really needs a good Hispanic restaurant other than Dominican Dominican Dominican if you're gonna put a Dominican restaurant make sure that you know how to cook Dominican food correctly and make it taste good not like this crap because you can go to Union City to a Dominican restaurant and they really have good Dominican food over here in Bayonne. It all tastes the same and all taste shit don't waste your time. One other thing if any hispanic that is in bayonne opened up in union city you would not survive between shit service shit food and the over priced shit you serve no way you guys would survive. You get away with this crap because people in bayonne really dont know any better . Union city is almost all hispanic you will never last in business. Please people take my advice go to union city for real hispanic food Great dominican Puerto rican and cuban and Peruvian food is in union city. Even Spaniard food las tapas restaurant in North Bergen close to 79th St., La Toppers restaurant is one of the finest Spaniard restaurants along with the ones in Newark stay away from Mail. They don't know how to cook for shit.

I've been a long-time customer, although I usually place my orders through Uber Eats. The last time…read moreI ordered was back in January because I decided to take a break from ordering out for a while. Today I finally decided to order again, and I even made sure to place the order earlier in the day so everything would be prepared properly and I would receive the full order without any issues. Unfortunately, that turned out to be a big mistake. I ordered my usual combo roast pork, which clearly states on the menu that it comes with rice and beans. However, when I received my order, there were no beans included at all, and the portion of roast pork was extremely small--far less than what should be expected for a combo meal. It honestly looked like barely any pork was included. I'm really not sure how something like this happens, especially when the item is clearly listed as a combo that includes rice and beans. Those are basic components of the meal, and leaving them out completely while also providing such a small portion of the main item is very disappointing. As someone who has ordered from here many times before, this experience is frustrating and disappointing. I made sure to order earlier specifically to avoid issues like this, yet the order still arrived incorrect. For a paying customer, especially a returning one, this level of carelessness is unacceptable. I hope this can be addressed so other customers don't have the same experience.

I rarely do this because I honestly I'm a loyal customer of many local restaurants , BUT.. this…read moresituation is so ridiculous I have to make people aware of . I have been ordering from this place for at least 3 years now if not more , I place the SAME EXACT ORDER every single week at least once or twice a week and I even make the effort to speak Spanish since it's their home language in order to make it easy for them . So here we go , I called again for the 5 thousand time to place the same exact order and the woman on the phone seemed confused even tho I was talking to her in her native language , she out me on hold 3 times to take an one single order , obviously she had NO CLUE about the menu . Fine , I wait for the order and I get something completely different from what I usually order so I called them and explained what happened. The woman on the phone tells me she asked the chef and he sent me the order , so I explained to her that is NOT WHAT I ORDER EVERY WEEK . I even went as far to say they could come and get the food back since we are not eating and all she kept doing was telling me that's what the chef made . Duhhh that's what the chef made but it's not what I ordered . Making a long story short , she didn't offer to fix and send the correct order , she didn't offer me a discount or a credit towards a future order either . With that said sounds like nowadays they send you what the chef decides to cook or what the inexperienced person on the phone understands and not what you actually order . With that said they lost a loyal customer because I will certainly NOT ORDER FROM THERE AGAIN !!! Not to mention so rude on the phone tells. MEVER AGAIN .

Let me tell you something. This RESTAURANT, is probably my favorite within a close radius to me…read more The food is phenomenal (to me, but I have yet to try everything they have to offer, thus far the chicken, beans, PEPPERSTEAK , empanadas, rice, plantains etc has all been good for me. The only time they had me a little skeptics is when a friend of mine ordered a tres leches, and suspected the milk may have curdled somehow I have no complaints regarding the service. I think they do their job and do it well, and there have been times that I've ordered a dish upon request and it was made FRESH on the spot. I don't converse with them often, and sometimes the food is a slight wait depending on WHAT you get, but no complaints there personally. As for the ambiance.. well, I am a native Jersey city resident so Ocean Ave is a usual to me. Most often if you mind your business, you should be fine as long as u go straight to getting your food, and go right home. And if u are confronted walk away and go about your business, thankfully this has always worked for ME. Internally the shop is cute as far as I'm concerned. I wouldn't need it to be Michelin star decor! It's not about the what the store looks like in this case, it's definitely about the quality of the food, which to me is great. I'd definitely recommend you check it out for yourself! And my personal recommendation (my go to) is of course the pepper steak w rice and beans. It usually brings me to a total of $14 flat. If you order other combos (such as the meats alone) it also Comes to a good price. I once ordered chicken, pepper steak, plantains and beans w no rice and my total was $21! And it lasted me more than a single day.
