I had this place on my list for some time. Wish I would have come sooner. It was excellent! We had a reservation and arrived in time but all tables were still occupied so we sat at the bar instead of waiting a few minutes. The place is not very big so it's quite cozy for seating. Our server was great in helping us through the menu. It's all tapa small plates so knowing which were the favs, how many typically are ordered person, etc was helpful. I won't remember the names of the 4 plates we chose but they were all excellent. One had asparagus and mushrooms, one was kabobs, one was prawns, and one was fish. The textures and flavors worked excellently for each plate. Four plates for the two of us was a good amount. We finished with a crème brûlée type dessert which was light and delicious. Street parking is available. We loved our experience. Can't wait to go back.

Food was really good and fresh! Everything came out super quick and service was super friendly and helpful (we sat at the bar). Paella was good but was all one texture and felt a little one dimensional; good flavor though. Ambiance was cute and intimate with a warm atmosphere. Lots of available street parking as well for a Saturday night.

The food and service are great. I look forward to returning. The ambiance is very cool. Nice quiet, comfortable spot. We just had small plates that we shared. Everything was delicious, just a little expensive for me

This restaurant is amazing. The food was delicious and very well presented. Our server was also excellent and gave great recommendations. Definitely a place you have to check out.

This place is a true gem, on the smaller side but quaint! It feels like going to a friend's house because everyone is so friendly, yet unobtrusive. The food was fantastic. My husband had missed lunch so we tried a few tapas and dessert :). The wine selection is solid and I loved what our waiter recommended. Easy place to go back again and again to try all the things!

Always an amazing meal - the flavors, the variety of tapas, the service, the ambiance. Always top notch.

I went here with my wife for our anniversary. We were married in Spain so we were hoping to re-live the memory through taste. We ordered the Calamares, Paella Sevillana, Albondigas, Patatas Bravas, and Pasta Negra, along with a bottle of wine. Rinćon 38 did not disappoint! The food was great. Service was excellent, and we loved the overall look and feel of the restaurant. It was definitely the closest we've felt to Spain in Minnesota. It was a little pricey, but definitely worth it for a special occasion or if you're really craving authentic tapas. We'll definitely be making this our go-to for future anniversary dinners!

Love this neighborhood gem in South Minneapolis Recently stopped by when in the area for happy hour and it is so nice to see that some things and faces never change! Ordered a few tapas favorites such as the stuffed Piquillo peppers and the Albondigas (meatballs in a saffron tomato broth) and the Plato Iberico - the Spanish charcuterie plate 2 glasses of their house Chardonnay for $12 is a steal these days! Service is fast efficient and friendly familiar faces! Ambiance is as close to being back on vacation in Spain, cute, quaint and Spanish guitar music transports me back to Seville Free parking on the street Check this place out! Wish I lived closer I would prob stop by once a week!!

Second time dining at Rincon 38 for New Years Eve. Had reservation, as small intimate venue. Service by Fernando was impeccable, timed/spaced tapas perfective, attentive without being disruptive. Provided helpful wine recommendation. Had 6 tapas & 2 desserts. My favorite, Piquillos. The scallops, Vieras, were flavorful & very tender. Experience was amazing.

Incredible food, attentive staff, and cozy atmosphere. A perfect place for a date or to celebrate a special occasion. Every dish was flavorful and filling, we had a group of 7 people and we each ordered two plates and felt full at the end of the meal! My favorites were the meatballs and the beet salad. Will definitely be back again to try more! There is street parking and the inside is not too large so make sure to get a reservation if you're going with a group!

If this is your first time trying tapas... just remember you don't need to order all your tapas at once. Savoring your tapas is all part of the quintessential dining experience. The food is absolutely amazing - everything we tasted melted in other mouths. We highly recommend the Malaga, Pasta Negro, and Toledo. Definitely a go-to place for date night or with a small group. Waiters are very attentive, and super nice atmosphere.

If you love tapas and live in Minneapolis, Rincón 38 is definitely worth trying. Food are exceptionally delicious. The Toledo, vieras, pasta negra and the Carne brava we randomly picked have satisfied both our eyes and mouth. Anything we saw on the tables next to us are different and awesome. The house sangria isn't too sweet, which is great, and highly recommended. Services and ambiance are on par with the food. It might not be best fit for large group dinner, but definitely a place I would save for the near and dear.

    - The space is cute, casual, and quaint. - There is free street parking available in the area. -The service was friendly and fast. - I like that instead of getting a full glass of wine, you can order a tasting (for $5.50). Great for those who don't want to drink much or sample several varieties. - Potato and Chorizo Empanadas were delicious. Light on the meat, but full of flavor. - Texture of the calamari seemed different. Like it was too tender... or perhaps I'm just used to the rings (which their's is not). Overall lovely experience. My one "wish" would be if they could add purse hooks under the bar for the convenience of those seated there.

I wanted to really love this place but unfortunately the flavors just weren't there. The restaurant is fun decor and service is friendly and efficient; they do an excellent job. Our granddaughters ordered mango, passionfruit, citrus, rhubarb drinks, soda. The drinks were thick and overwhelmingly sweet. Adding some sparkling water to it did help. As far as food; The food came promptly, but the flavors were not there. The Brussel sprouts came with a caramelized onion jam which was way too sweet and overpowered all the other flavors. Very disappointing. The shrimp aguachile was extremely soupy with overpowered spice, making it unable to taste the shrimp. The plantain chips were thick and hard, rather tasteless. The arepas were a little more flavorful but really wouldn't recommend any particular one that we tried. The only hit was the black bean empanadas, extremely great flavor, just a hint of spice served with pickle cabbage. Yum. We should just have had four orders of those.

The tartare had so much flavor to it. It had a nice mussel aoilo that really brought it together. The crudo was great as well. Had a little spice to it but felt fresh to eat. Entree: we ordered the double cheeseburger and Poutine. Have no words to describe how amazing it was and I've tried burgers all over the twin cities. The patty was cooked medium/medium rare, with carmelized onions, pickles and mustard aioli. Every bite was so delicious and flavorful, how a burger should be. The poutine was also amazing! The cheese, gnocchi and ox tail was such a wonderful and unique combo. Dessert: we ordered the dark chocolate mousse cake. It was topped with whip cream and had a piece of chocolate on top. It was amazing! Chocolate wasn't too overly powering and the whip cream balanced it out. The service was great! Checked in how we were doing and asked if there was anything needed. We were seated at the bar, which was a little spacious, but could be cramped if there are others around. The ambience there was good! It is dim but still has enough light to look at the menu. Parking can be tough as well, but honestly the food makes up for it! I would highly recommend GusGus to anyone!

I don't think it should stop you from going, but you should be aware before you go! Parking can be a challenge, but we found street parking about a block away. Give yourself time, have some patience, and maybe skip the high heels...they don't really match the aesthetic of this spot anyways ;) The interior is cozy and inviting: bustling service members catering to a full house of patrons in a color-drenched teal setting with adorable and whimsical wallpaper. It's absolutely a small spot, which they do their best to give you space but it's loud and can easily be overstimulating. Pair that with the warm summer months and it was uncomfortably hot in the space as well. I think I would have enjoyed this spot much more in the Fall or Winter when you're craving the comfy warmth of a crowded space. It was a bit awkward that there's no clear direction on a host stand or welcome area...you walk straight in to the restaurant and it's unclear what you're supposed to do or where you're to go. We aimlessly wandered around the restaurant looking for a host stand until some waitress said we are just supposed to wait by the door...This kinda set the tone for the service aspect of the restaurant. The servers were incredibly friendly, but I found the timing to be a bit off and the rhythm never really landed...we were waiting for our server often. The food was delicious! We started with the hand pie, chips and Speck, and poutine. All were incredibly flavorful, savory, and cooked wonderfully. The hand pie was the star for me...just a perfect package of umami goodness! The gravy on the poutine was delectable and they didn't skimp on the cheese! The fried gnocchi was a fun spin on the classic dish! Might have just been what we ordered, but I thought the whole meal was very salt-forward, which I appreciated but could see where others might not. Lastly, we had the famous Double Cheeseburger. Now, I'm hesitant to agree with others that it's the BEST burger in the Cities, but it is very good. No shortage of classic supporting characters: oozy gooey cheese, caramelized onions, and pickles. Definitely an "eat with fork and knife" style burger! Overall, a great spot for soul-filling comfort food! A few challenges that they can't overcome due to location and space, but a few kinks they can sort out on the service side would elevate this spot to the next level!

When we walked in, the first thing we noticed was that several tables needed to be cleaned. Seating was limited because many of the empty tables still had dishes and trays on them. We ordered at the register, and I got the pastor specialty tacos with a jamaica. The cashier asked if I was sure about the jamaica because she said theirs is a bit sour, and she even offered me a small sample first. I thought that was thoughtful customer service. After tasting it, I still wanted it, it didn't taste sour to me at all. It just wasn't as sweet as the jamaica I'm used to, and I actually enjoyed it. The hint of ginger was a nice surprise and something I'd never had before. The tacos were good, maybe not the best I've ever had, but definitely solid. I loved that the tortillas were handmade, and adding some of the table chili gave them the extra kick I was looking for. Before we left, we noticed another couple clearing off a table themselves because there wasn't a clean place to sit. It was truly a neighborhood gem that satisfied my taste buds. My favorite dishes were the quesabirria platter, the honey macha wings, and a few of the street tacos, specifically the pork carnitas and the pork al pastor, because both were pretty juicy. One major advantage this establishment had was the kinds of sauces they had, because innovatively, they had some chili oil hot sauce that I enjoyed putting on my street tacos, even if it wasn't the most common combination. The carne asada steak street tacos had their own sauce called "salsa real" which was pretty tasty. All of those dishes had good flavor and were juicy. Other than those, some of the street tacos relied on the sauces for juiciness, and the meat themselves were a bit dry (carne asada, for example). The pork al pastor gourmet tacos were a bit dry as well, and relied on the sauce on the side for flavor. The churros were a bit hard, and because of such, I couldn't really use them to pick up the chocolate sauces. The tres leches cake lacked some sweetness, but was on point in terms of consistency. There are still some dishes on the menu that look appealing, so I am certain that I will be back, especially since I live very close to this restaurant. I also want to mention that it has always been a great experience ordering food with the server at the counter. She was very nice!

They were super crispy, cooked perfectly and I love truffle with fries. The best part however was the aioli that came paired with it. It had a citrusy, umami flavor that was just so incredible I would have taken a whole jar home if I was able to. Absolutely perfect and can make any dish. The Granada slider was also awesome. It was bigger than I expected and included that wonderful aioli again, along with some greens, the patty, manchego cheese, and bacon. It was delicious and once again that aioli is just perfect and it was a much larger amount of food than I was expecting. I also had the mahi mahi taco as well which was good, but not my favorite. I'd probably try something instead of this again next time. Also, the staff is super funny and really awesome. We had Cassie (sorry if I got this wrong) and she was super kind, made a lot of jokes, and even gave us a tour of the theatre when we asked if we could take a peak to see what it looks like. Incredible service, we had a really great time with her. We all are definitely going to come back soon, and maybe even come for a show! But the food alone is worth a visit for sure in my opinion. I strongly recommend the Granada Slider and you have to get the truffle fries with the aioli. We had a reservation but the host seemed to struggle to find it, almost even questioning the validity of it even though I showed her proof they texted confirmation. Thankfully they gave us a table right away anyways. The restaurant is attached to a theatre so it gets really busy prior to showtimes and the service becomes slow or non existent. At one point it even seemed that they forgot about us and the manger noticed so she made sure to get our food to us. The server later apologized and was very kind but I couldn't help but notice she took the time to chit chat with coworkers while we waited. When the theatre performance started it loudly traveled into the restaraunt through the walls. While it didn't bother me I can see how this may bother others. I'm actually glad we went because we learned about the theatre and would like to attend a show sometime. I just wouldn't recommend going to the restaraunt unless you are seeing a show there.
