May 13, 2026 - never got a response Complaint start: Greetings I have driven by the restaurant many times and my wife has eaten there with friends and had good service and meals. This morning was my first visit. Ordered the breakfast sandwich, no kimtchi and sausage. I did not realize, and the menu does not note, the egg is sunny side up and not over hard so the sandwich is messy and runny. The cashier did not ask how I wanted the egg. Also, the potatoes were room temp. My wife asked me if I wanted a reorder on the potatoes and I said no but she asked for hot potatoes. I guess the cook wanted to make sure they would not be cold because they were so HOT we could not eat them. Eating one gave me that burn you feel all the way down my esophagus! Visited for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised. It's a farm to table store -- selling food items along with restaurant options, which was great! My food was delicious -- exceeding expectations and it was prepared and delivered very quickly. The price was fair and the ambience was comfortable - albeit rustic. Busy brunch place and I can see why. It's a favorite of two friends of mine who brought me here for my first visit. They have managed to put together an inventive and perfectly-sized menu while maintaining their strong farm-to-table ethic. They are partners/owners of the farm in Plato, MN, which grows almost everything they put on their plates. In addition to their restaurant offerings, they also have shelves and refrigerators selling produce from their farm. I had their Eggs Benedict, which was unique and extremely flavorful. The meat was "Turkish Pork Sausage" and the Hollandaise had a chili pepper twist that was delicious, and it was topped off with shreds of pickled fennel which was awesome. My friends each got a Veggie Scramble Special, which will vary based on what they've raised but in this case had Swiss cheese, tomatoes, and marinated onions. They were delighted with it. I loved the service and the ambience, which gave a very "bustling center of the neighborhood" vibe. That makes parking tricky, though; at 10am on a Saturday I had to walk a couple of blocks. Friend and I came here ~12 pm for brunch. I had the breakfast burrito and she had the breakfast bowl. Burrito was tasty and filling. We didn't have to wait long to order at the counter but when we left about an hour later, the line was long. Service was friendly when we ordered and our found arrived quickly. The Tangletown Farm supplies the garden center next door and restaurant with seasonal flowers, greens, vegetables, meat, and just salt anything else you'd expect. I've visited their farm in Plato and it's definitely a case where you can tell "happy animals make tastier meals". The food isn't cheap, but they don't skimp on portions or quality. Some of the best pork and produce I've ever had. If you see the Ham Jam Scram on the menu, don't skip it. I wish it was a staple! The dining room is fairly small but they also have a little, covered patio that's dog friendly. Parking can be tough given the small lot but there's plenty of street options nearby. They converted some of the dining room into a really nice market for their farm goods as well as other local makers. Service has always been good but can sometimes come off as a little aloof. They're generally happy to answer any questions you have and get you anything you need. Overall I love this place and it's one of my favorites. I picked wise acre for a birthday celebration and I had never been. As others have said in reviews, the service is very rude. The citrus wild rice salad is a pretty rainbow of greens, radish, tomato, picked veggies with a soft jammy egg on a bed of wild rice. Yes, it's as delicious as it looks. The greens are perfectly dressed, just a whisp on every piece of lettuce (not soaked in dressing, and no pieces without). I also tried the corn chowder, which I suppose is as good as a vegetarian soup can be. It's chock full of veggies, but the broth is a little thin tasting without any meat. The corn bread has a nice, rough texture studded with bits of fresh corn. But it was a little soggy and falls apart if you pick it up. I dumped the crumbs into the soup, which really improved the flavor. I also like that it wasn't too sweet. It's actual corn bread, not a muffin/cake. I know that's annoying like Lyle from The Internship but it's true - Wise Acre Eatery sources most of its food from Tangletown Gardens' 100 (or 180) acre farm in Plato MN, which has Scottish Highland Cattle, Berkshire and Black hogs, and free range chickens, ducks and turkeys. Not to mention, you'll always have a wide variety of fresh produce in your meal. To be honest, I've only eaten here for breakfast, numerous times, but every time has been fantastic and I've left full and satisfied. Located close to the intersection of Lyndale Ave. S. and Diamond Lake, Wise Acre Eatery has a small parking lot that holds maybe 10 cars, but there's plenty of street parking that's free and who doesn't mind walking a little when you are going to eat? The restaurant is quaint - small enough to feel intimate but large enough to seat plenty of guests and there's a counter if you prefer to eat by yourself, which I sometimes do. The Wise Acre Brunch menu isn't huge but it has plenty of good options - I've tried the "If You Must" which is egg and herb scramble, farm potatoes (which are great), choice of sausage or ham and cornbread muffin. You can substitute bacon for $3. I've also done the omelet of the day and one of my pictures is the CSA hash. Being a person who grew up on meat & potatoes, I was a little skeptical at first because it said "farm vegetables" but let me say, it was REALLY good and filling. The hash also includes the egg & herb scramble, which is really more like a soft scramble but not runny like it is in Europe/London and cottage ham. Also served with a cornbread muffin. Don't waste stomach space on the cornbread (even though it's pretty good), go for the good stuff! Wise Acre also has good Five Watt coffee and I got a Chai Tea Latte made with oat milk. There are so many unique options on the menu. Lots of fresh meat and fresh vegetables! All from their farm about an hour west. Everything we ordered was delicious! For a drink, I had the fire and ice. I loved it! It's on the sweet side though, so if you don't like sweet drinks, you may not prefer this one. I recommend you pick several things from the menu and share them. That's what we did! First, We tried the wae bacon and it was amazing. Really thick slices of bacon! It came with goat cheese and fig jam as well. Next we ordered the beets. Delicious! We shared the meatballs. They were huge and had lots of flavor. Very dense. We also ordered the cauliflower. It was cooked three different ways and each way was just a burst of flavor! I wanted to lick the plate! I can't wait to go back and order more things from their menu.
