We enjoyed a girls night here! The food was absolutely delicious and our service was great! We ordered 6 pasta and 1 vegetable to share between the four of us. That was the perfect amount of food! If you go when this summer menus is still here, you need to try both pastas that have corn in them!! My favorite was either the Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka or Parmesan & Corn Agnolotti.

Dario definitely lived up to the hype! The Doppio pasta dish was delicious and I will be coming back for it! I love the unique, colorful, tasteful vibe they have going on! I would come back for the atmosphere alone! The only downside is this is on the $$$ side and you will be paying up for smaller portions.

This place surely impressed! The server was extremely friendly and was able to offer up plenty of great suggestions and how to go about ordering. She suggested getting a handful of items and sharing amongst the table and that was definitely the move! If I had enough room, I would've ordered one of everything on the menu! The standouts to me were the potatoes, gem lettuces, and the mezzaluna. Would come back just to try those again! We were celebrating an engagement and they were very accommodating and brought out some bubbly for us to celebrate with! The vibe is very classy and almost feels like a very modern/updated 70's/80's vibe. Super fun and unique restaurant that I haven't seen anywhere else. Definitely a place for special occasions!

Been here a couple of times and their doppio pasta has been my fav! I've also tried the tajarin which I didn't like as much and the broccoli mezzaluna which I loved. Their dolceta red wine was also super good. They have a rotating pasta menu but the doppio stays constant.

Went to Dario for a date night and enjoyed the food and service. Our favorite was the potatoes! The Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka was good but not as amazing as I was expecting. Overall good experience

finally made it to Dario for my birthday and I apologize for an extremely belated dinner recap this spot had been on my list forever, and overall, there were some really high highs. the apps absolutely delivered, and the salad was one of the freshest I've had in a long time. simple but done so right. my friend's pasta (the doppio ravioli) ended up being the standout of the night. not something I would've ever ordered myself, and I was immediately humbled. absolutely delicious. espresso martini felt a little...light for the price, but not a dealbreaker. we've all been there. the one thing that stuck with me though, and honestly might be the difference between a return or not, was the birthday dessert situation. we booked it as a birthday dinner, they brought out dessert... and then charged us for it without saying anything. ‍ not only that, but it was pretty underwhelming and we didn't even get spoons until it melted. and still not comped.... for the price point and overall experience, it just felt a little off. overall: really good food, but expensive and a pretty tight menu. a few things done incredibly well, a few things that just didn't quite match the vibe.

Went to Dario for a quick dinner, the vibe is absolutely adorable, very cute and girly! The service was also great, different style in the sense it comes out when it's ready so order everything at once and the waitress structures it but overall we got everything at a good time. Now for the food, wow, the gem lettuce was delicious, would come back just for that. The fried potato cake was different, it was good but not the star which is ok. It was essentially a hash brown with caramelized onions then topped with the cream, there is Tabasco in it and you can tell, had a bit of a kick. Finally the spicy rigatoni, it was so good, handmade pasta and you can tell. Great flavors and overall outstanding, I was spicy but not too spicy. I have a low spice tolerance and I could manage but if you do not like spicy at all then I would suggest to try something else but I can't imagine anything is bad here! Would definitely recommend and I will be back!

I don't even have enough words to describe how incredible this restaurant is. Food is out of this world, MUST get the doppio but they will sell out so be aware of that. I've been twice and both times the service was not only tentative but their waitstaff have fun personalities. Open kitchen concept is always neat, decor is tasteful, and music is trendy. I asked what their biggest complaint is and they said people will sometimes comment on music being too loud. I didn't think so. YES, it's pricey but it's reflective of the quality.

Ah, we had high expectations for this place since it's been on our bucket list of restaurants for 3 years... it disappointed us. Frankly, the price of this food was much too expensive for the quality, portion size, and presentation. The app (crudo) had amazing flavor in the sauce though the rest of it was subpar. Inside the short rib pasta was a meat purée rather than meat chunks. The saffron was really chewy with reminders of taco meat, not lamb. The lemon ricotta tasted and looked like it came from a basic grocer bakery. The service was slow and awkward. The ambiance was too dim for sensitive eyes and they were playing heavy medal music. It was worth a shot, though we won't be back. * Metered parking (small shared lot) * $75 per person for party of 3 - $$$$$$$ * Need reservations * Crowded by patrons and staff (had an unpleasant encounter with another patron in line for the bathroom that was not in our party)

Olive oil cake - forgot to take a picture before digging in lol

I've been to Dario twice now and have nothing but good things to say about them! Just found out chef Jack used to be at Demi, which made so much sense why these dishes tasted and was presented in such a beautiful manner that was so Demi-esque. I was hesitant to order an olive oil cake but omg it was amazing!! It was so good I forgot to take picture before digging in there was pistachio, fresh nectarines, icecream and whipped cream on this. One of my favorite olive oil cakes I've ever had - not too sweet and with different textures. Same goes to their take on Vietnamese coffee, not too sweet with various textures in there. If you're a person who don't get desserts often, here's the place to do it and you won't be disappointed! We also got beef tartare, hiramasa crudo and NA red wine (not pictured). All extremely good and fresh. We first went when they opened a couple years back and their quality is still as remembered. People are friendly and respectful. We went around the same time both visits: weekday around 5 so the restaurant was pretty calm with plenty of parking around.

Dario will always be one of my favorite spots in the cities! You have to be up for a fun colorful restaurant that can sometimes be louder than others (not too loud) and open to fun twists on pasta but it never disappoints. We split 3 pastas, a salad, and the quail at our table and everything as always was perfection. The gem salad with a mountain of parm and the puffed farro is a perfect little Caesar salad ish moment, but the quail - omg the quail! It was insanely good. I'm now trying to figure out how to replicate the butternut squash farro on my own because it was my favorite bite of the evening.

I definitely enjoyed this pricey meal at Dario. It is a very pleasant environment to dine in; it manages both elegance and wit with a very open kitchen and plenty of sunny window seating. Small menu, though I gather it rotates with some regularity. I went with Spicy Rigatoni alla Vodka, which was perfect despite not actually being a spicy dish. Superb balance of pasta, sauce, sausage. Good portion size. Great flavor to the sauce. I had room for dessert and went with the cup of cake and ice cream, which was just okay. Small portion with a very nice little scoop of ice cream that tasted like awesome homemade vanilla, but the actual cake was dense and mediocre. I also had their homemade root beer which was great and I would get that again for sure. I would be interested in returning here if it were more in my budget, but I tend to think I can get this quality of a meal for meaningfully less at some other good Italian places.

Upscale Italian restaurant in the North Loop! Dined at Dario to celebrate my best friend's birthday. We had made a reservation for 8pm and arrived early. The host did let us know it would be a small wait as they did not have any tables available. We had absolutely no problem waiting. It took awhile to be seated but the manager was very kind and professional and was sorry for our wait he offered us a complementary drink! We really appreciated the hospitality and service. The food was really delicious and unique. We ordered the beef tar tar as a dessert and stuffed pasta for an entree. I will say, the portions are a bit on the smaller size.

Do they offer any tables for walk ins or is it reservation only?

Walk in at the bar usually but very popular place so would suggest reservation ahead of time

Are there any gluten-free pasta options?

I believe the risotto is gluten free. Maybe the ricotta dumplings too. There are so many vegetables & protein options, I'm sure you could find some dishes that work for a gluten- free diner.

Relatively easy to find, though you do have to hunt a little bit, Flora Room sits behind a nondescript metal door leading down a short hallway to the entrance. Take a long moment to allow your eyes to adjust if you're coming before sunset; this space is DARK. It's also perfect. Once your "night vision" kicks in you're surrounded by a nice bar, numerous bistro-style tables and booths. Candles adorn the tables creating a nice, cozy place to settle in for drinks. Once seated in comfortable chairs at a table, we were quickly greeted and provided with menus. The cocktail selection is relatively "small" but really nicely varied. Prices seemed a tad steep but frankly, given the quality of the drinks I'd say quite worth it. I started out with the Evita, a nice flavorful gin-base cocktail topped with a nice egg white foam. Very tasty. My wife opted for the Tapaculo, with gin, mezcal, pineapple, banana and bitters over ice. Also quite good. There are also bites available from the associated restaurant I can't recall the name of mine but I can say it was delicious. Bread-like bites with a really tasty dipping sauce. To close out the visit I selected Palo, a smoked aged rum cocktail that was really nice and rich. My wife chose the Nahualito with rum, walnut, amontillado and white chocolate. All should be on your radar. Flora Room really fit the bill for a nice, intimate speakeasy-style spot to spend time. Dark and cozy. Savory cocktails and friendly service will stand out and make you want to return. I know we'll seek it out if we return to Minneapolis again. I hope so.

Fortunately, I arrived at 5:30 PM on a Saturday, which was early enough to avoid a line and a velvet rope. I don't wait in line for anything unless I'm at a pharmacy, bakery, post office, or airport. Lines at restaurants and bars strike me as pretentious or bad management, and I don't tolerate either. However, I'm old, and at my age, nothing is worth waiting for unless it's a necessity. I found a seat at the beautiful and expansive bar and looked around at the Del Prado design. The colors might be different, but Flora was reminiscent of Minari and Noma. All three add to the Twin Cities' cachet. However, I was taken aback by the attire I saw around me. People were dressed in shorts, T-shirts, and sneakers. It's friggen Saturday night Minneapolis. Have some class! Flora Room was a lovely cocktail lounge, perfect for wooing, but don't expect to strike up a conversation with any of the bartenders. At these Del Prado joints, the staff must be trained not to engage. I'm out alone and enjoy talking. Bartenders used to be part of a lounge's attraction when I grew up in NYC. They learned your name, knew what you did, and gave you a hearty welcome. That, I guess, is not part of the culture in Minneapolis. Well, at least not at the Del Prado restaurants and bars. Chef Del Prado is from Argentina, and certainly, Argentina is one of the warmest and friendliest countries in the world, so I don't get it. I now live up the block from the Flora Room. I'm a neighbor and would like to be treated like one. Neighborly and the Flora Room are distant concepts.

Upon entering we were greeted by a woman who was clearly wearing multiple hats as she seemed rushed, a bit off putting and quite frankly distracted. It was Juneteenth the middle of the afternoon and there were maybe 6 people at the bar and one other table besides ours with 2 diners. The person seating us was also our server and the bartender. Menu is small but the items we ordered were all fabulous! Every single one! The collard green dip with cornbread pita chips was absolutely delicious - Think spinach artichoke dip but soul food! The salmon croquettes with lemon herb aioli and arugula salad that accompanied were fresh and light! The catfish sandwich with fries was hot, crispy and well seasoned with fresh lettuce and tomato on a perfectly tender brioche bun. I want to return so bad for the food but it was clear this host, server, bartender and partial cook was pulled in too many directions and that severely compromised our service and gave us stand off energy as first time patrons. I looked it up and she is actually one of the owners. She came across as irritated especially once we didn't order any alcoholic drinks first and then very short and curt following. What took the cake was her telling us she was leaving for the day and needed to close our tab while we were eating. Didn't ask did we want to order anything else and there was another server taking her place and an empty restaurant! My partner had to put his sandwich down wipe his hands pull out his wallet while she stood there impatiently. Then proceeded to linger around hugging her regular bar patrons. It was clear this is a "regulars" spot and if you're not one you're rolling the dice on the service you may or may not get. We were patient and didn't complain because it was Juneteenth and our intention to support black restaurants all weekend. I have many previous years in the industry as a cook, host and GM and I was stunned to know that she was one of the owners when I looked it up. Had planned to return for live music but unfortunately the off putting energy and unwelcoming vibe may have squashed that possibility. I hope they improve service because the food is delicious and deserves attention from a larger and more sophisticated audience.
