I want to give this place a good rating however I cant. The cuts of meat were very tough The "rib eye" is not real rib eye its like a cheap NY strip and the picaña is a tough cut that is not really picaña more like a piece of palomilla. I should know because my husband is a butcher. The shrimp he had were also tough and they had a fishy smell Octopus was also flavorless. The sides that they give you consistent of some kind of cold, mashed potato, some sweet plantain, some hard cheese with what I can only guess is honey and some round little balls that we could not make out but we're very chewy and unappetizing. The salad bar is ok but limited choices Waitress and other staff were great but the main ingredient--MEAT. Does not cut it. We are a big fan of the Brazilian Churrascaria and we found out that there is a new chain called Rio Grande opened near Dadeland. We went for a family dinner this past weekend and were welcome with a live performer. The meal included unlimited salad bar and various meats that are brought to our table. The salad bar was a little limited compared to other Brazilian churrascarias and they brought sides dishes mashed potatoes, sweet plantains, and the cheese bread balls with guava dipping sauce. The meats were ok, I wish it had more seasoning, but unique to this restaurant is octopus and shrimps (which were the stars of the meal). For dessert we ordered their almond tort which was the most bland tort I ever had. The staff and live music were great and for the most part it was good and filling meal. read more

Had a great experience here at Rio Grande! For starters, if you don't speak Spanish you might have trouble navigating as most of the servers speak only Spanish. Upon arriving we were greeted and allowed to pick our table. The decor is a little gaudy with big gold chairs. We sat near the salad bar for close access. The salad bar was packed with ceviche, tuna salad, chicken salad, soups, and more! I didn't realize much food we'd be getting over the course so I wish I saved some room. The food just starting coming nonstop. My favorite cuts were the picanha, churrasco, shrimp, and lamb. The cheese breads were soooo good and warm too. The plants were soft and had cinnamon sugar. Since it was my dad's birthday, they put on a show where they came with lights dancing. The desserts were phenomenal we got the crème bruelle and the flan. Recently I had a craving for picanha and decided to Google where I could get it for a sit down meal.. and I came across Rio Grande. Last night we were planning to barbecue at home but decided to come check this place out with the kids instead. The ambiance is tacky.. the chairs seem like they were purchased from different restaurant closures. Gold chairs of different styles, some with throne-like backs,, all mixed up at tables with no apparent reasoning. The tall-back chairs seem to say "sit here and eat like a king". The table base, though more unique than most places, is very uncomfortable to sit at because the design is so bulky you're always bumping some part of the bass and/or the other people at the table. We walked in with 4 people (2 adults and 2 kids) and waited for the hostess to come over.. when she came over she asked my husband and I if we'd like a table for 2. (Do some people leave their kids outside here?) We were provided menus with pricing, but the waitress told us that we were given lunch menus instead of dinner menus.. she explained it's basically the same thing but for lunch it's 25.99 and for dinner it's 40 but you have 3 additional meat options. Children's pricing ranges based on age; in our case they were half price. We ordered a caipirinha and margarita. I like that they have fruit flavor options you can select from to add to the drinks. We started at the salad bar (/buffet area) as directed.. the salad bar also includes bread rolls, charcuterie, hot sides like rice, potatoes, garbanzo beans, and a fish entree. My daughter doesn't like meat so she was planning to eat the "grilled cheese" listed, but it turned out to be pancito de queso which she doesn't like. She ate a couple bread rolls, some strawberries from the charcuterie board, and we forced her to eat a few bites of chicken because she was refusing anything else. The rest of us are meat eaters.. but we like our meat medium rare. The meat that started coming around all looked charred. My husband and son tried a bunch of stuff. A couple of the men started coming back with some medium rare pieces once I asked, but I always ended up with pieces from the outside that were still too cooked for my liking. Nonetheless, the meat was also all tougher than normal.. this is not quality or flavorful. I'm very surprised they don't have and offer a house chimichurri or aioli for dipping, as it would certainly help conceal the lack of flavor and tenderness. If you want to eat a lot of low quality overcooked meat, this may be the place for you. If you want food with flavor or prefer quality over quantity, dont come here. We did not enjoy this place, we didn't eat much, and we will never be back. On the plus side.. the people were nice and the place seemed clean. read more

Mixed Experience - Amazing First Visit, Disappointing Second This was my second time visiting this restaurant. The first visit on 7/26/25 around 3 PM was absolutely amazing. The service was quick and friendly, and the food--especially the mashed potatoes, Brazilian cheese bread, and sweet bananas--was incredible. I left super impressed and couldn't stop talking about it. Because of that, I decided to bring my mother and father-in-law the following weekend, on Sunday 8/3 around 6 PM, and unfortunately, the experience didn't come close to the first. The restaurant was clearly very busy, which I understand, but the service struggled to keep up. The signature sides I had raved about never came initially. I asked our server, and she told us they weren't ready. When sides eventually came out, the mashed potatoes still never made it to our table. It was disappointing after I'd hyped them up so much. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant, and the meat rotation was slow. We were offered sausage at least five times, ribeye twice, churrasco once, shrimp once, and octopus once. Toward the end, chicken wrapped in bacon finally came by--but overall, the variety was lacking. It felt like they were very understaffed for a packed house, which also included several birthday parties. We also ordered sodas that never came during the meal. To their credit, they comped them and gave them to us to go, which I appreciated. I also noticed that the usual 18% automatic gratuity was not included on the bill--I'm assuming they realized the experience wasn't up to standard. I still believe this place has a lot of potential--my first visit was honestly stellar. But the inconsistency, especially when bringing guests for the first time, was disappointing. I'd consider going back, but definitely on a weekday or earlier in the day when the place isn't as overwhelmed. read more

The food was fresh and the meats were all tender cooked to perfection. The salad bar had good options like hot foods such as beans, rice, soups, and meatballs. The cold salad bar had a make your own salad section, fruits, and pasta salads and more! The meats are high quality and some options were rib-eye, top sirloin, churrasco, shrimp, octopus, chorizo, pork loin, picana, and more! Drinks and desserts are not included in the prices. Prices range from Weekdays M-F $25.99 Lunch 11am-4pm, Dinner $39.99 Weekends $39.99 all day! (brunch brings a welcome mimosa) They play live music too. Rio Grande Churrascaria is a solid restaurant for Brazilian rodizio-style lunch. The churrasco was delicious overall, with a nice variety of meats--though the lamb was a bit chewy and the pork seasoning wasn't quite my thing. The salad bar and side dishes were on point, and the atmosphere is beautiful with a fully stocked bar. Friendly staff too. This is actually my 2nd time here, and I brought my entire family for my birthday on the weekend which was $40 per person. Located within one of the busiest storefront in the Dadeland South area, there is usually problem with parking during the weekday. On the weekend though, we lucked out. RESTAURANT: It is bigger inside than I expected. With very over the top decor of gold chairs and tables and red walls, floor to ceiling bar and fancy wine curio wall, it was a lot to take in. There is also a stage. The tables were beautifully set up. Restrooms clean. The music can get loud at times. SERVICE: As this is Miami, the language barrier is always a problem. The staff seems attentive but it would often be difficult to communicate with them. For awhile our server disappeared and our water glasses stood empty. With very salty meats, water was necessary. Also, we were a few of the first ones there. The Gauchos were nice but I noticed that wen more people filled the other side, they would go and bring that side the freshly made meat, especially the octopus I had been waiting for, instead of starting with us. So by the time they got to us with the octopus, all the tentacles were gone and a only a small piece were left. They did surprised me with an awesome birthday song with props and all but I guess they can't spare a very small piece of dessert to top with a candle for me to blow because they sang to me and I just sat there looking awkward. Mind you, I had 10 people with me, so our bill was not going to be cheap. A tiny sliver of cake or even whip cream like they do at Cheesecake factory would have made a difference. They did have a live performer which I did not see during the weekday lunch. She did arrive an hour after we got there so we only enjoyed her for a few minutes. So plan your visit accordingly. FOOD: The weekday side bar included a paella type of rice and I was sooo looking forward to that during the bday weekend visit. But since it was "brunch" they had eggs instead. That was disappointing. But the weekend or dinner also have the octopus so I was looking forward to that. The sides bar were plentiful and delicious with my favorite ceviche and cheeses. They had salads, fruits, nuts, veggies and cheeses. The meat were delicious too but definitely very, very salty. My favorite were the picanha, ribeye and octopus. I recommend you try everything. The grilled honey with cheese was unexpectedly served cold but I did not mind it. Overall, the experience was not bad. Everyone was full, thirsty, but full. The price point was to be expected. The weekend price does include one glass of mimosa per person so if you're a drinker that is a good perk. Give this place a try. I am glad it's local. read more

We were a party of 4. We went for dinner. The food was good the service was OK. I felt they were lacking in service. My friend ask for ginger ale and they did not know what that was. Most or maybe all the waiters did not know how to speak English. Even the front desk lady did not know how to speak English. This is a bit of a deserves. They have a salad bar not much dressing to choice from. The brisket was very good. The meats were very good. I got a flan with vanilla & chocolate ice cream that was very good . The service was one of the best so far, the waitress kept checking on us to make sure we were okay and if we needed a specific type of meat. The meats were great! Dined here three times now, first time was an overall good experience. Had a different selection of proteins than neighboring all you can eat churrascaria's in the area. Tasty and great service overall. Second time was subpar, salad bar seemed very mid. Which I assume was ok because my expectations may have been high and we were there for the protein selection. However servers were extremely slow, had no sort of system in serving tables. We were looked over countless times with empty plates waiting for some attention from the meat carvers. Mind you, it wasn't a busy night. Eventually called for the bill leaving very unsatisfied and the bodybuilding friend I was with left still craving food. Still decided to give them a third shot. Everyone has an off night. It was actually very busy. Majority of tables were taken. Guests actually were waiting for tables while we were having dinners. Unfortunately the service lacked again. There was no system in place to serve guests. Meat servers seemed to serve whatever table they felt like. My wife who wanted lamb and seafood, had to wait about half an hour before we were inclined to ask the waitress for some. Not to say that there wasn't any served to other guests, they just never came to our table. Eventually a kind gentleman, possibly a manager came to our table and gave us some special attention. However I feel it shouldn't have come to that. We were sitting in a pretty busy area in the dining room. We were passed over repeatedly for whatever reason. The meat quality is not the best, but it's not the worst either. Salad bar selection was slightly improved as well. If you're feeling to indulge in this type of cuisine, I'd recommend giving it a shot. It's fairly priced in comparison to other all you can eat steakhouses. We went on Sunday for lunch which ended up being brunch. The price for brunch which includes salad bar and all you can eat meats was reasonable at 39.99. I may have read incorrectly but there was no welcome mimosa, also when I asked for water they came over with bottled water without asking if we wanted to pay for it. The salad bar choices were mediocre not great items like other Brazilian Steak Houses. The decor is a bit flashy but that's ok. They do have live music if that's your thing; There was a lovely lady playing the sax. The caipirinha was good and a decent price for 10 dollars. One thing I thought was uncomfortable is they come around once with the meats and kind of ignore you after the first round. Service is decent but again I felt like I was being watched over supervising how much I consumed. Upon arrival, it's very pretty place. I actually recall the location fondly from when it was big Hoolies. There was a lovely lady, singing live and she was playing the sax. It was quite charming and so I ordered a cold ice tea and my mom a pisco sour. So far so good. It was just me taking my mom for a Sunday brunch and well it seemed like a nice, close, lovely place to take her. I wouldn't recommend it though. I won't go back, the food wasn't that good. It's a Brazilian steak restaurant, so they charge a standard price and it was Sunday, so they called it brunch and you get all the meat and the salad you want. The salad bar was average at best, and the meat was very delayed in coming around and very just average. We're not big eaters, so it wasn't stressful until we asked for water. And the waiter informed us that the water there was terrible and that we needed to pay for bottled water. I thought he was kidding but when he said he was gonna treat us for this first time, but after that we have to pay for our own water it became not funny. Then while we were trying to decide if we were going to get coffee and dessert, something happened at another table and our waiter quit waiting on us. When he came back, we asked for the bill paid as quick as we could which took an extra 20 minutes and left. We won't be back. I'd like to add that it was not the price of anything.
