Finka is truly my home away from home. The staff is incredible, warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. Every time I walk through the doors, it feels like visiting family. The food and drinks are consistently amazing. I've been coming here since they first opened (I believe back in 2014), and I'll keep coming back. Their menu is packed with bold, flavorful dishes, an impressive cocktail selection, and honestly, they were one of the places that got me through COVID! From the pizzas to the entrées, everything is outstanding. I celebrated my birthday here just last week, and as always, it was excellent. The churrasco is consistently tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The mushroom risotto is rich, creamy, and bursting with earthy mushroom goodness. For dessert, we shared the warm banana bread with salted caramel ice cream, and wow... I still can't stop thinking about it. Whether it's happy hour, lunch, dinner, or a special occasion, Finka never ever ever disappoints. I've been coming to Finka for years, and I've always loved the service, happy hour, and food. We usually sit at the bar because the bartenders have always been so nice and friendly. Unfortunately, today was a very different experience. It took about five minutes for anyone to acknowledge us, even though the bar wasn't busy. I ordered an Old Cuban Old Fashioned, one of my favorites, and was surprised to see the bartender use his hands instead of tongs to put the ice into the glass. I ended up sending the drink back because the glass was dirty. The second drink was made by another bartender, and again, I noticed him using his hands instead of tongs to handle the ice. The food was still great, but after today's experience, I'll definitely be paying much closer attention to how my drinks are prepared. I've always had a great experience at Finka, which is why today was especially disappointing. I hope this was just an off day and not a change in their usual standards. read more

Been here many times and loved the food. Love the atmosphere and it's right in our neighborhood which is really good. Food is great of course they are the descendants of the.Isla Canaria's family. The pork chunks were amazing perfect soft good rice and beans and great maduros. Try the arroz con pollo balls appetizer. It was amazing and they have chicken inside a work of art. Love the Peruvian rice very delicious. Only thing is, we asked for a couple of drinks at the bar when we started and they didn't have any and they didn't have lomo salteado probably because of all the business they've had because of the World Cup. One thing when you come drink here make sure you look at the menu cause the drinks at bar and prices. I ordered a regular well drink and I got a $20 premium drink because they have the same name just different types. I've dined at FINKA on numerous occasions over the past many many years and it never disappoints. It's a great place for any occasion- from a casual meal to a celebration. They have ample space to cater to large parties, but depending on count, I'd recommend making a reservation for larger parties/groups. They have a unique cocktail list that is beautifully curated along with a wide variety menu to cater to all pallets. A few of my faves: Picar- Porkbelly, yuca fritters, vaca frita tostones, and of course, their croquettas, which I believe are the best in all zeee lands (Isla Canaria). Main Plates- churruasco, oxtail, ravioli, Cuban fried rice I've personally never tried the pizzas, but have heard from friends they are a great choice as well! They were nice to set the table with a tablecloth that we brought with her 90th Birthday design. Croquetas and Plantain Chips as appetizers. For the main course, I shared the 160z Ribeye steak. It was perfectly cooked. Parmesan risotto, bulgogi reduction, shoestring French fries. Masitas de Puerco -- Beans & Rice, Maduros. Cuban Fried Rice -- Shrimp, Maduros, pineapple, fried egg, peppers. We brought the cake, they served it for a charge. Some of us selected white wine, beer, red wine to drink. Café Cubano to end Service was very attentive. The food here is REALLY GOOD! KOREAN & CUBAN FUSION. AND the portions are BIG! Large serving plates are used. The staff are pleased and everywhere! Never had to "look for" Lewis. He was always available but not hovering. Water was plentiful and didn't have to ask for it. We were there around 6:30 on. Wednesday. We wanted a quieter spot and the hostess was great about finding us one. And it was a bit noisy. There was a large group of "fratboy" types making way too much noise at the bar. So we appreciated the hostess getting us a table far from them. I do have one small critique about the lighting. We were in a row of tables that had NOT ONE OVERHEAD LIGHT. AND the lights that were overhead about 10 feet on either side of the table were on very dim. We had to use our phone lights to read the menu. But I will return and refer others. read more

It's been about seven years since I've been back and I'm glad to know that this place has not missed a beat. Hosted a baby shower here and it was phenomenal! The ceviche was incredible! Kicked off the meal with the SAGED BY THE BELL cocktail which was impressively deliciously. Ingredients incl: Hornitos Plata Tequila / Fresh Lime Juice / Spicy Hibiscus Syrup / Fresh Picked Sage / Peach Bitters Highly recommended cocktail! Ham CROQUETAS and the FRIED YUCA & GOAT CHEESE FRITTERs were both freshly delicious. The star of the brunch was the Oxtail pizza, with truffle, arugula, and goat cheese. My order was modified to accommodate my cow dairy allergy by removing the mozzarella. The pizza literally exceeded my expectations. 5 stars! I came with my family to celebrate my father's birthday at an Asian and Cuban fusion restaurant. The dishes were unique and flavorful. We started with the vaca tostones and yuca bites as appetizers. For my main course, I ordered the Cuban fried rice, and for dessert, the guava cheesecake. I saw this restaurant a few years ago either featured on the news or someone posted about it and I've always wanted to try it. Before going I checked out their website and watched a really cool video about how the restaurant came to be and what influenced the food served. I was very intrigued. FINKA is a space where Cuban and Korean food meet. An interesting combination that works pretty well. They even have some pizza options for those that are adventurous. Service was excellent the waiters were super attentive always checking in during our meal and topping off our water cups. They were also super knowledgeable about the menu and if you had any questions or allergies they would be able to address it. The menu started off with some complementary housemade chips. We ordered off the special appetizer menu and got the jamon and manchego cheese croquettes. For entrees we got the short ribs special and also the merluza fish special and then an Angus churrasco. Food came out great and tasted even better. The steak came out perfectly medium rare and the bed of mashed sweet potatoes were tasty with the nicely cooked green beans giving it a great crunchy texture. The short ribs were tasty but there were a little dry and some parts were crunchy the asparagus werent young either so they were a little hard to chew but the truffled mash potatoes were delicious abit on the stronger side with the truffle smell and taste. The merluza was great definitely not expecting it to be such a massive dish. Fish was cooked well nice and flaky, and the shrimp risotto had a creamy and cheese flavor to accompany the fish on every bite. Overall the first time experience here at FINKA was great would definitely come back for the service and interesting combinations of cultures and food they had. read more

I ordered the mahi on shrimp risotto it had a pat of butter covered in chimichurri but they didnt have mahi and replaced with a hog fish. Also I had Dek Calvin chicken fried rice with gojujang sauce spicy real good. Then we ordered bread pudding with ice cream. It was a chocolate cake with chocolate drizzle and chocolate chip ice cream and sorry but NOT bread pudding. I saw some good food and place had very unique appetizers and a full bar. We shared several dishes, starting with the Mac and 3 Cheese, which was creamy and well-seasoned. The malanga nachos were a favorite.. so unique, crunchy, and full of flavor. This used to be my favorite local restaurant and go-to whenever someone asked for a recommendation. Unfortunately the last few times have been a miss with overly salted food and overly acidic drinks (with grossly oversized ice cubes that take up 2/3 of the glass). Today my husband and I wanted to give it another try and were left disappointed. We arrived before Noon on a Saturday. There were 2 tables with 2 people each in the main dining area and one table in the greenhouse looking room with about 6 guests. We asked to be seated at a table where we could sit side by side and were denied. At night or during a peak time, I would be more accepting of the denial, however, not when the restaurant is practically empty. It's in poor taste and offputting, leaving a saltier taste in my mouth than the last time I tried their overly salted fried rice so we walked out and will not be returning. UPD: I appreciate the owner's response regarding the seating. Not all of their cocktails (all cold) have the huge ice cubes, but many of them do... Less ice may allow for more other ingredients, which would then make the drinks more palatable because (as you can see from my previous review) this once was my favorite place for cocktails but lately it's been a miss. I go to FINKA for the Islas Canarias chicken croquetas and the oxtail pizza. That pizza is legendary and unlike anything I have ever eaten in terms of pizza in MIA. Kind staff and the service is very efficient. Never disappoints. Eating there or ordering take-out, the quality of the food is amazing and their drinks are good. The service is welcoming and the interior is very pretty. The food is a mixture of Cuban with Peruvian but it is a fusion of many other cultures mixed together.
