Coolant leaking from truck. Taken a few days following a service to fix a coolant leak, which resulted in replacing my radiator entirely.

This is my second time writing a detailed review as I accidentally deleted the first one during proofreading, which should speak to the level of displeasure I have with this business and their service. Not to mention this is my first ever review I have brought my '01 Tacoma here roughly half a dozen times since I purchased it at the beginning of 2023 from my grandma, who had just previously replaced most of the parts with her mechanic herself. Not once following a service here have I driven my truck for more than 500 miles without another (sometimes the exact same) issue arising. The following events occur from 10/13/23 to 2/29/24, less than a five month window. The first time I took my truck into Rio Rancho Imports, which for brevity's sake will be abbreviated as RRI from here on, was because of a Check Engine warning. I was charged for an in-house diagnostic, which revealed identical codes to the free diagnostic AutoZone gave me up the street, P0441 and P0450 (purge flow errors), and was told I needed to replace my heater hose, a $140 part. Less than 300 miles later, the check engine light comes back on. I take my truck back to RRI, following another trip to AutoZone, showing that error P0450 persists. I am again charged an in-house diagnostic, and told to replace my entire vacuum solenoid, resulting in a fee just under $400. After having my truck at RRI for about five days, my check engine light finally turns off, but during an oil change, the employee points out a coolant leak to me. I ask him to do a quick inspection and he sees nothing of serious concern, and noted he believes the hose may just be loose, although he is not positive of the source of the leak. Now, following two separate services, my truck was still having issues. However, being admittedly ignorant when it comes to vehicles and automotive parts, I trusted the mechanics at RRI would have my best interest in mind, so I took my truck back to RRI. This now feels like a mistake. I was told I had a crack in my radiator, and it must be completely replaced, an $800+ service. Trusting the mechanic, I agreed to the service. I've since been told I could have gotten this same service done for 3/4 of the price elsewhere, if it was ever even needed in the first place. Unsurprisingly, following this service, my truck was still leaking coolant. Thankfully, I had more knowledgeable friends take a look at it, and they fixed the issue by simply sliding the hose around the fittings and retightening them. This speaks to the lack of diligence and carelessness of this business, and if I didn't learn from my previous mistakes, I'm sure RRI would've likely gouged me for another part replacement when in reality the source of the issue was a very simple fix. After $1200+ and cumulative weeks without my vehicle, I feel it should be a reasonable expectation for my truck to run with no issue, but that's not enough for this place. This place has left me with lighter pockets, and the feeling of being taken advantage of and misguided. At best, the quality and value of the work here is questionable. At worst, this is one of those stereotypical "scummy, untrustworthy mechanics who price gouge the naive" that everyone's Uncle warns them about. Frankly, a business bearing the name of my hometown and being such a disappointment is shameful. I couldn't recommend this business less. Needless to say I will not be coming back here. Fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twice; shame on me. Fool me three times; i'll write a negative yelp review.

My son worked hard all summer to earn the money necessary to have repairs completed. He trusted your business to perform the work that was discussed and paid for. Unfortunately, we have since learned that the repairs he paid approximately $6,000 for were not completed. When we returned the truck to your shop to address the issue, we were told that the situation was the result of a "miscommunication" between the service technician and the salesperson. While I understand that mistakes can happen, a miscommunication within your business should not result in a customer being charged thousands of dollars for work that was never performed. This situation is particularly concerning because my son is only 17 years old. He worked throughout the summer and saved his money specifically to make these repairs to his truck. To have that substantial amount of money taken for repairs that were not completed is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Been doing bussiness with them for many years, When Ed Sinnott was the manager we were well taken care of very professional services. Will never do bussiness with this company again, Be Warned..

General Manager Freddie and his Team truly care about taking care of their customers and their cars! We had some air loss in our tires (admittedly while towing a U-Haul Trailer) and our Oil Light went off so we stopped at Big O to check out the tires (not a big deal and they refused to charge us for ensuring they were properly inflated). They told us they could fix the oil leak and damaged oil pressure sensor (okay, so we did happen to run over an armadillo in Amarillo; or truthfully, that armadillo ran/jumped into our oncoming car!). Still, the damage was much more significant than just breaking the plastic air spoiler on the front bumper! We did not want to spend a lot of time or money on our journey from NYC to LA but we could not drive safely from Albuquerque to LA without getting the car fixed first. Freddie and his Team took great care of us, gave us very fair pricing (BTW, Veterans and First Responders get an additional ten (10%) percent discount here!), and totally fixed us up, including changing the sensor, all of the filters, the oil, and everything necessary to get us back on the road safely! I hope never again to break down in Albuquerque but if you ever do, go to the Big O Tires on Rio Rancho Blvd and tell Freddie that I sent you!

While traveling…read morethrough the Albuquerque area, my Jeep started sputtering smoke and missing, losing power near Bernalillo, NM. Diagnosis and repair were very good. The hourly rate is a little pricey but well-worth it compared to dealerships. And also worth the money for the professionalism and skills they have on staff. Fortunately, I called Anytime and Kit answered. I was told to bring it in although they were booked because it was urgent to get me on the road again. Well, after many mechanics have worked on the Jeep, the diagnosis of these problems concerning fuel system management has confounded many of them. I gave a little bit of history of the Jeep. And Matt went to work in between the regular scheduled work. Matt was professional, kind, understanding and thorough. He explained how he would approach the problem after listening to the history of repairs that I could remember. He used a reasonably advanced OBD2 diagnosis tool. Every time they started the SUV, it gassed them out of the shop. But they nailed down the problem after systematic logical diagnosis. There were 2 fuel injectors stuck wide open and dumping fuel into the cylinders. Fuel was dripping, splattering out my exhaust, totally dangerous! They ordered the parts (took the most time, not their fault) and fixed it swiftly. I appreciate Matt's logical approach solving this mystery. I was told, by other mechanics, it was the MAP sensor, O2 sensors, plugged catalytic converters, bad fuel pump, bad fuel filter. One mechanic at Sonny's Straight A's shop said he wasn't even willing to try to work on it and just to check the fuel rail pressure myself. I would definitely recommend working with Matt at this shop. I didn't run into any of the negative experiences that I saw on Yelp.
