I took my vehicle into JCC to diagnose an electrical issue. My guess was the alternator - and sure enough, the alternator was the culprit. An expensive but needed repair, so I agreed. But this is what blew me away. Not the alternator, but replacing the engine-cover plastic clips that were missing before I brought my Rav in. Did they have to do that, of course not. Did they charge me? No. Did they mention them? No. That got me thinking of the time before I brought my 2008 in. Although they addressed the light configuration on the dash as planned, I believe they also addressed replacing batteries on my TPS sensor system for the tires. Again, did they charge me. No. Did they tell me? No. Conjecture on my part - as this light hasn't come on for the last several thousand miles; but I believe they replaced the batteries to quietly show off their exemplary service. Without saying a word. To say that they've earned my loyalty is an understatement. I wholeheartedly give my highest recommendation and respect to Japanese Car Care. read more

First time visit. Impressive overall evaluation with documentation and photos of concerning issues. Each item patiently and professionally reviewed by front desk service-writer. Pricing feels appropriate and reasonable for our rapidly changing world...My Brakes are top-notch performers, now, and pulsing brakes were my issue. I opted to have a slightly leaking power steering hose replaced immediately. Subsequent appointments for additional work already made. So far, a great garage, with friendly, personable staff. Excellent service from experienced mechanics. There's a bit of a wait for basic services, but well worth it.

What can I say about this place that others have not. I called to see if they can check small oil leak. They are booked all the way until end of February but Justin and Adam offered for me to take my car and just to check it to make sure it's not an emergency situation. Once I hit there they took my car in right away. Got it checked and found small leak but nothing urgent they cleaned up the area where it was showing the leak and asked to come back after 200 miles to check it again. Yes, honest treatment, they didn't even charged me for it. This place is amazing, they won't sell you anything that you don't need. Their prices are very reasonable and they stand behind their work. This was not my first time here. My last visit was just as good as this one. They fixed a major gas leak in my car and problem never happened again. On my way to church, I ran over a sizeable piece of truck tire as I was exiting I-40 at Louisiana. I didn't react fast enough to swerve. The collision made a loud thud sound. It contacted my undercarriage but not the tires. To see if any damage had been done, I took it to Japanese Car Care the next day. I didn't have an appointment and I first contacted them just an hour earlier on a Monday morning, but they got right on it. The tech put it up on a lift just a few minutes after I arrived. He then invited me to see for myself, which was great. Really nice guy. There was no damage, just scratches and scuff marks. Whew! Another excellent experience with Japanese Car Care. read more

I'm driving cross country today and I started to hear an intermittent rattle underneath my Lexus es300h about 40 miles outside of Albuquerque. I quickly did a google search and found Japanese Car Care and I drove to the shop. They were completely booked this afternoon but John (one of their mechanics) offered to take a look. He drove it on the freeway but heard nothing and then put it on the lift and found a couple of clamps missing in the undercarriage. All told he spent more than 30 minutes on my car and the total charges were $15.49.. I was stunned with how honest this company is. They were so busy but took the time to help me even though I'm just driving through. I feel like I won the lottery in finding their shop. read more

I was pleased to hear about the covid-19 procedures here, I was asked to drop my car off as early as possible and it wasn't ready until afternoon but I prefer that a business have good procedures in place even if it takes a bit longer. They explained their cleaning procedure in detail on the phone, they do both at drop off and before you pick up. I could tell they were very attentive to cleaning high touch surfaces as even though I use wipes on my steering wheel periodically it seemed like it had gotten a deep cleaning! LOL you don't really notice how dirty your steering wheel gets until it gets a deep clean. Also they had a plastic sheild up at the front desk, and carefully sanitized my credit card before handing it back. Waiting room is pretty small, IDK if they are even using it now so ask about that, but if you need a place nearby to wait for a bit there are restaurants with outdoor seating nearby. I had an in depth phone conversation about the work to be done when setting up the appointment, when I arrived for my appointment about 2 weeks later it was clear they had taken notes and it was nice to not have to go over everything again. They suggested it might be possible to repair a certain part ( headlight bulb mounting) rather than replacing, did end up needing the part replaced but I could see on the old part that they did try for a repair first. Labor costs were reasonable and they communicated well about the costs, cost for parts was about $10 higher than the estimate a few weeks before and they checked in with me on that before installing. I'm happy with the work, and I feel it says a lot in their favor that they suggested trying a repair of the part first. read more

This business is awesome. After taking my 2001 Lexus ES 300 a couple times to another well advertised local repair shop and fluids still leaking and not happy Japanese Car Care was recommended by Valvoline on Tramway and I'm so glad! All I can say is they fixed a bunch of prior repairs done incorrectly (took photos to show me) and resolved my cars issues quickly and correctly. Eric and his team were awesome. We talked engines and old car talk and it's evident this shop loves their customers and repairing their newer and not so new cars. I'll be back next time I need any kind of repair work.... read more

I would highly recommend this place! Courteous, reasonable, but most of all honest, which is super nice when you're a woman walking into an automotive shop. My boss recommended them to me and I haven't taken my car anywhere since. It's not as convenient as some other places that have weekend hours also, but is worth it. I started going to this establishment in 1998 and have taken 3 or 4 cars here for routine maintenance, brake work, electrical system checks, tune-ups. etc. I probably have been here between 25 - 30 times over the years. The mechanics are very experienced, honest, and the prices are very reasonable. They often do small extras - at no charge - that if you don't look for, you may not notice. For example, I have noticed corroding, but functional, mounting hardware changed and fluids topped off, even if I'm only there for a tire rotation. If you don't need service, they don't try to sell you something you don't need. A few times I have brought in a vehicle I thought must be due for say, brake work, only to be told I could safely go another 3 - 6 months before needing service. Perhaps my only "complaint" is that they don't do muffler and body work. Bottom line: A good shop that does good work at a fair price. read more

Ben and his staff are top notch. Took them my 2006 tacoma twice after the dealer, and two other shops could not find my problem. They not only found my problem, but they fixed it in a very timely manner and also recommended some other items needing replacement soon. Did not try to over charge, or sell me what I didn't need. Nice to see we have some outstanding local shops who are honest, and care about quality service. They have mine and my brother's business from now on. I still don't know for certain if I just had a Twilight Zone experience - but in the late 90s I took my Mazda truck to what I had always heard was the best and most honest repair shop in town - Japanese Car Care. I took it in to get the clutch replaced, and got it back - I kid you not - with the window smashed and the radio ripped out. It wasn't so much that this happened - obviously someone had broken in - but when I talked to the manager Paul about what he was going to do to return my truck in the condition I dropped it off, he said - and I kid you not - "Not a damn thing... I didn't do it." I talked to their insurance company - who was actually quite helpful and was able to cut me a check within a week. However - and again I kid you not - Paul tried to get them to bill ME for their deductible. Again, their own insurance company actually took my side and said they couldn't do that. In the end I didn't have to pay the deductible, and I did finally get my truck back - albeit for $200 more than they said it would cost. Still don't know what the whole thing was about - did I just walk into the Twilight Zone? But I still can't say anything positive about them. I was just a 20-year-old kid at the time. Maybe they're only nice to people they think they have to be nice to? read more
