Love love LOVE this place. It took me a long time to come here because other reviews made me skeptical that I would be impressed, but I am, and this has become one of our consistent go-tos. They have absolutely NAILED their Pana Cotta. Normally, I wouldn't be a huge fan of pana cottas as it has come across to gelatin-y in the past, but I get it every time. The service is amazing. It is clear they are aiming to offer an elevated experience. That being said, it is on the longer side of a meal, and I find it much more enjoyable when I accept the leisurely pace and order an appetizer. When I do order an appetizer, the meal seems perfectly paced. Without it, it could seem a bit slow. I've loved the zucchini blossoms, calamari, and Caesar salad. (I do really like the burrata ones as well, but it's just so easy to make on your own from Trader Joes at a much lower premium.) I also love that they offer complementary focaccia, which used to be made in house. I don't believe it is now, but it is still very good. My fave dishes to get are anything with their droolworthy polenta like their chicken or veal saltimbocca (I prefer the chicken) for dinner or their chicken marsala for lunch. The chicken marsala probably is my absolute favorite, which means I HAVE to come here for their lunch sometimes, which are only Thursday and Friday. Really lovely atmosphere. I have and love to sit on their porch but no longer do because of the traffic noise. Chico designed Bruce with the traffic light right there and it's so bad - basically a raceway for meatheads in their loud trucks and motorcycles when the light turns green. Mosquitos absolutely become a problem so while I love that they sometimes put up the garage style doors/windows when the weather is nice to create a lovely indoor/outdoor experience, if you're a mosquito magnet like me, that is not the time for you to come in without mosquito protection. (One time was so bad that even though they closed it, I left with - I kid you not, I counted - no less that 18 mosquito bites on my calf. read more

Rione is one of those places that is in a league of its own. The food is marvelous and service is top notch. I've never had a bad meal there. They are trying new things with entertainment all the time so the ambiance is on point, and is my go-to place for a great time. read more

Went to check it out and fell in love with the place. A perfectly situated spot with a great view and modern Italian vibe. The menu is classic with a few twists. The wine list was also thoughtfully aligned. The food is the hit. We each had salads and an entree. That allowed us to try four dishes on two different days. The analysis was simple, it's a hit. Excellent dinner, we ate too much but it was so good. Appetizer - calamari. Mains - Ravioli and Duck Confit Cannelloni, each with a small Caesar salad. All excellent. Also blueberry panna cotta for dessert was exceptional and made from local organic blueberries. Drinks were a variety of wines and Aperol Spritz, all excellent. A really lovely duo played music on the patio and with the south door/wall opened, we were able to enjoy the music from inside. Staff was attentive and super friendly, and we thoroughly our ending. The food here is good, but not as authentic as I had hoped (nor as the ambiance implies). The appetizers are unique with some fun seasonal options like the peach burrata. The pizza came out on a cracker of a crust, with far too many mushroom variations for a meat pizza. I'd recommend this spot for drinks and apps on the patio, but cannot say it's worth it to spend extra and order entrees. Our waiter was great and knew the menu well! He forgot one of our drinks towards the end, but it worked out for the better since we had already wrapped our meal. Very busy on a Thursday night so definitely make reservations! Was able to do so online but finding the link was a bit challenging and I wasn't sure I actually made it through the restaurant because the website said call for reservations so was glad it actually worked! Service was fantastic. Was seated shortly after arrival. Everyone was very friendly and it felt genuine. The staff seemed to really enjoy being there and gave honest opinions and suggestions on the menu. Went with our waitress's suggestions and were really happy! Ordered two glasses of red and an espresso martini to start. For food, the eggplant parm, parparadelle bolognese, and cacio e Pepe. Food came out in a short time frame and tasted fresh. read more

We wanted to enjoy the patio at Rione on a beautiful Monday to celebrate a challenging month of Law School assignments. However, all the tables were reserved or spoken for already at 5:00 pm. We did get the last two seats at the bar. Which is full service dining. The staff were very nice. There is a good selection on the menu, wine, beer and mocktails until they get their full liquor license. I had the wild boar bolognese (which I've never had wild boar) which was not strong tasting but I did request more fresh Parmesan ($1 extra) to balance it out. My boyfriend had the veal on polenta. The polenta was ok. The service was great. The bartender/waitress was super nice and helpful. The place was busy. Highly recommend reservations if you want to get a table or sit out side on the patio. Note: I recently saw they are having music on the patio on Wednesday evenings through May. read more

From the time you walk in, it is just a beautiful experience. This was my second visit, this time with a friend. We started with the stuffed zucchini blossoms and the burrata with prosciutto. Both were divine. Then I ordered the carbonara and my friend got the Pope's pasta. The magic of this restaurant is that you are served the exact perfect amount. It's right there on the edge of should I save this little bit...nah, I can finish this. This time, we did dessert--cannoli and the, stay with me here, pistachio cheesecake with raspberry coulis. Pistachio cheesecake?? I know! It was the most magnificent cheesecake I've had. Our server was quite attentive throughout the dinner, and the manager checked in as well. We thought everything was great. The only criticism I had was the chicken on my pasta was dry and overcooked, the cauliflower was undercooked and crunchy. The sauce was incredible, and had deep flavors. The pasta was perfect. Seafood pasta was generous with the seafood and the pasta again was perfect and delicious. We had the rice ball and the caprese, both were wonderful. The caprese was out of season for good tomatoes and I was surprised at the lack of balsamic. But still very good. We live right around the corner from this restaurant. When they were building it, we were so excited because we can walk here if we ever wanted to try it. Since opening, the parking lot always looks packed and filled with people, which is a good thing because it seems like a lot of people have been waiting for them to open. Our neighbor told us that that if you wanted a seat inside, you'd have to make reservations, but the bar is open seating as its first come, first serve. To confirm this - we would call ahead and every time we call, the phone will ring & ring & ring .. when someone does finally answer, we're on hold for 5-6mins+ .. sometimes they would just hang up.. which kind of sucks because it pushed us back and we didn't really want to come. After maybe a year later - we finally decided to come and try it out. Before going, my boyfriend tried to call to make a reservation but was put on hold for more than 6mins.. which made him reluctant to go. The restaurant is only open for dinner: 4 - 9pm. When we got there it was around 530?- maybe 6? And the seats inside plus the bar were already packed.. we were told if we wanted a seat inside, it'll be about a 20-30min wait, but outside seating was available.. so we decided to sit outside. Our server was quick to greet us, I got a glass of wine and my boyfriend got a glass of beer. I ordered the bolognese and he got the salmon. The bolognese was good, it did lack some salt and i did find a hair in it, but the server corrected the mistake quickly and another plate was brought out. I definitely appreciate him doing this. The salmon was delicious!. I think it came on a bed of risotto with some veggies and had great flavors! We both agreed that if the salmon skin was crispy, it would've added an extra sense of texture to the meal. Overall - it was good to finally try this place. After all the hype and the temptation to try it since it's so close to home - I'm glad we did. The food is pretty $$$ - like - really $$$ ... so ... this is a place to come for special occasions... Is it worth the $$$ - mmmm - meh.. but it's good to try it The overall experience was good - our server did a great job and was very attentive. Ive worked as a server for a long time and the way our server corrected the mistake was very professional and I appreciate that.. thank you.! Had to take stars off for the over-the-phone experience. Very modern Italian decor. I had a seafood pasta dish, can't remember the name. It had bay scallops, shrimp and mussels (they swapped clams instead, which is alright with me.) A spicy red sauce with pasta tubes (I don't know the name of that, either.) Totally delicious! Wife had spicy salami sandwich on house made bread which she thoroughly enjoyed. Service was great! We went in to have dinner tonight at 4:40 for my daughters birthday. The whole restaurant was empty and they couldn't accommodate a party of 6 because they had reservations booked starting at 6:00. We could of had dinner and been out of there before the reservations got there. I can't believe a restaurant would turn people away when it's empty!!!! We will never go there again. We wanted to try it for the first time but now we don't ever care to try it. The restaurant Crush was booked at 5 but moved things around and got us in. Casual fancy atmosphere. Restaurant is new and clean. They had live music on the outdoor patio as well. We dressed nice as it was and an anniversary but you can fit in with shorts and a tshirt. Our server was nice and attentive. She let us know the special for the night and was fast on the refills. Everything went smoothly. Food was good! The bruschetta was really delicious. Wish it was bigger for the price. The food is pricey but it did taste fresh and of good quality. I had the shrimp risotto as an appetizer and the carbonara as an entree. Risotto was good but they didn't cook out all the wine taste out of it. The shrimp were a good size but kind of flavorless for how much sauce was on them. My complaint of the pasta was that it wasn't fresh and also cooked al dente. Wish it was just a tad softer but the guancialle was yummy and gave good flavor to the carbonara. Wife loved her filet mignon but that's hard to screw up. Lots of mushrooms! Which i appreciated! Nice Marsala like mushroom sauce on the filet. Good place to celebrate an occasion I would say and I recommend making a reservation as they were quite busy for a Wednesday. I imagine weekends are busier. Really nice spot, good food, nice cocktail/wine/beer selection, great service and priced as expected for upscale dining. Would go again. You gotta get a le-mon spritz. Rest of the cocktails looked equally interesting. Outside dining area despite being on 20th and Bruce has a nice view and is really cool, especially the fire tables. Inside is equally nice, what you'd expect from upscale Italian dining. You need to get a reservation right now it seems, but service once you're there is great. We had everything from apps through kids meals and everyone really likes what they had. I actually thought the kids Alfredo was the best thing at our table. Apps are on the small side, so get 2 to share at a table. Why 1 star missing? Some of the food was a bit salty. read more

This place was great. I'll share a pretty honest review, but overall recommend trying this place if you get the chance. Rione is owned by the same owners as Red Tavern. The ambiance was bright and airy with large roll up doors that go right out to the patio. It was a bit loud indoors, which left little room for intimate, romantic conversation. We made reservations and could immediately tell they were busy and experiencing "new restaurant" challenges. Regardless, we were seated relatively quickly. My husband and I ordered two glasses of wine, an appetizer and two entrees to start. The wine came quick, but we waited a little over 45 minutes for our appetizer, the bruschetta. The dish was fresh and tasty, but small. After that we waited another 15-20 minutes for our entrees. During that time, they brought us warm focaccia bread and evoo for the table (why they didn't bring this earlier is my question, but it was delicious). We ordered the wild boar bolognese and the zozzona rigatoni pasta dishes. Both delicious. Good portion sizes. Overall though, the WINNER was dessert... the tiramisu is to die for and a MUST. Creamy and decadent without being too rich. This revived the entire meal, and made up for everything that could be critiqued. Definitely think they're still working out some kinks but overall, a good experience -- worth a try! read more

Disappointing. I've been twice now. Once last year and once this year. Last year the food was just awful and this year again the food was a let down. My man's pasta was brought to the table completely cold after waiting 1 hour and 45 minutes. Granted this was on Valentine's Day so we were being patient. But that was kind of hard considering the fact they messed up our reservation and we had to sit outside with our baby being eaten alive by mosquitoes. Will not be going back.
