Walls of taps, and you pour your own using their card system, which makes it easy to sample a bunch without committing to a full pour. Dangerous in the best way. Always a fun night at The Commons. Good music, good pizza and a fun crowd. I only leave 4 stars because they really need to provide more seating. I know they have the chairs available, for some reason they don't put a lot of chairs out. Some people can't sit on the ground and the seats at the tables fill up fast. A group of us stopped at The Commons | Social Empourium on our long drive home from camping, and I'm so glad we did! I had never been to this location before, but I was immediately impressed by the modern, fun, and welcoming vibe. We also had great service upon arrival. The pizza selection was fantastic--and it tasted just as good as it looked. I'm not a beer drinker, but I loved how easy and interactive the self-pour beer system was. I went to The Commons for the first time last Friday evening. What a pleasant place to hang outside in the courtyard, with so many children about. It was really a family atmosphere. The music was provided by a local band (sorry, I didn't catch the name). We got a cheese pizza; okay for wood fired, that is, not burned. Good crust, good sauce. I suggest you bring your own folding chair to sit in the courtyard, grab a margarita from the outside bar, and try their pizza. The one downside is that it takes about forever for the pizza to be ready. But hey, we were chillin'. read more

Had a great Sunday afternoon/dinner time here in October. We were visiting a friend in Chico and she hadn't been there so we checked it out. Interesting set up, you walk in and will check in with someone that will sell you the card to use their taps (wine taps too! Hooray!) and you can order from their pizza menu-the pizza is from a different business-but you can pay for everything together or go in for just the pizza and not have anything from their taps. Similar to the Me n Eds on tap locations (for us Central Valley people ;). They also sell soda from the pizza business. Great pizza! We got the cheesey bread sticks and one large pizza and it was more than enough for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Everything was delicious. The beers and wines we tried were delicious as well. Love the selection, they had at least 3 different wines and at least 4 of each type of beer, hazy, West Coast IPA, stouts, sours, ciders and more. Pretty good service, the pizza maker made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. They have games and a large connect 4 that entertained our toddlers for awhile. Stopped here on a Thursday night, which was trivia night though we were too late to join the game. This is a college town, which was clear when the participants struggled to name No Doubt and Blink-182 as artists of songs played. Made me feel a bit old but in a good way! We've enjoyed this place every time we have been so far! We've only come during the day on weekends, so I can't speak to the "night life" version. But we love the unique taps and the variety of stuff to try. The pricing for the drinks seems reasonable as well. The pizza is super duper tasty and the staff has always been friendly. Honestly.....this HAS to be the best pizza in town right now. I ordered three days ago around 10pm because my friend was telling me how good the pizza's were here. There menu is so unique...all of the pizza's were so different but every single one of them sounded amazing. I went with the CBR Pizza and oh my god it was absolutely amazing. They have a clove of garlic that was roasted and the pieces are spread across the entire thing, this may sound weird but they tasted like candy. Every single thing paired so well with each other; I almost ate the entire pizza myself. Sad...I know. But I was anything but shameful! I have not been inside to eat but I plan on coming by for dinner tonight with my friend to show her how awesome the food is. Some guy gives me 2 dollars so I pay and continue watching My Dodgers when about 15 minutes later 2 bouncers approach me and tell me I am not welcome and to stop begging people for money. I explained the situation and even dropped Byron the owners name, only to be told I don't know Byron and to leave immediately. As I am forced out I spilled the 2nd half of my salad which I was saving for dinner. I also left my brand new solar power bank plugged in and when I asked them to get it, they said it wasn't there and would not allow me in to look. I asked to see the cameras only to be forced out and told that Byron loves me and won't fire me over you. He was a pudgy little Mexican who refused to give me his name. The other one was a taller slender darker fellow also wouldn't give me his name. Lastly, as I am leaving he tells me to "drive back in my car" when I told him the night b4 I was involved in a major accident where I hit a tree head on at 60. The atmosphere of this place is absolutely amazing -- indoors and outside. The beers and wines and everything in between is always great! I'm not a huge beer fan, so I love that they have other options that cater to people who prefer other adult beverages. I especially love their Brew Flow event, which is a great way to start your weekend -- yoga followed by a tasty drink! All-in-all, this place is great for hanging out with friends or for post-work drinks. I highly recommend! However, there's no food served which is why this is only 4-stars for me. This place is super chill vibes. They have a fire pit now and it is soo cozy and warm and gives me all the vibes. They also have cornhole. Preface: this is a scan and pour which is super nifty and the newest hipster trend in taprooms. The employees are super friendly and are attentive at explaining how the place works. They always have fresh clean glass cups for you to pour your drinks into. And I love how they group the different brews on tap so that it is easy to try similar drinks that you like which is awesome!!! The employees are even like just pour a little bit to try before pouring a full glass to drink. Hands on best advice ever haha even if it is simple. They also have local beers/ciders on tap which I'm all for supporting local businesses is the bomb. The space is rather empty and big, lots of concrete. It is nice when filled with people but when it is not busy the place looks meh. If you like food they also have food trucks outside that you can purchase food at to eat inside. It's never too packed when I do go so I reccomend it :). When I went to chill by the fire pit the fire was on low and basically off but an employee saw me and my friends and asked us if we wanted it on. She was super attentive and I felt super appreciative towards her. Like give her a raise. Hahaha. All in all a lot of variety that gets rotated enough.
