The food and atmosphere were excellent, the self serve brew on tap seemed to be very popular though I didn't try any this visit. Many drafts to try!

Super fun vibes here, really enjoy their selection of beer!!!!

Although I no longer live here, my boyfriend and I talk about this place weekly! Such an amazing atmosphere, the outdoor area, staff, games, cleanliness, etc! Their pizza is SO good (and ranch) we would fly back just to experience the commons once more if you live in or around Chico please visit, you will not be disappointed!

Went here for drinks and games with a friend. Love that they're pet friendly! The server was very friendly and helpful to show us how their system works, I like that you get to decide what you drink and how much. They have good selection and some wines and ciders as well! They have many games available to pick from, lots of seating inside & out, kid and family friendly but also good place for a date, pizza is also amazing!! When I'm back in the area it would definitely be a place I want to stop at.

Plenty of space to spread out with the toddlers:)

Had a great Sunday afternoon/dinner time here in October. We were visiting a friend in Chico and she hadn't been there so we checked it out. Interesting set up, you walk in and will check in with someone that will sell you the card to use their taps (wine taps too! Hooray!) and you can order from their pizza menu-the pizza is from a different business-but you can pay for everything together or go in for just the pizza and not have anything from their taps. Similar to the Me n Eds on tap locations (for us Central Valley people ;). They also sell soda from the pizza business. Great pizza! We got the cheesey bread sticks and one large pizza and it was more than enough for 4 adults and 2 toddlers. Everything was delicious. The beers and wines we tried were delicious as well. Love the selection, they had at least 3 different wines and at least 4 of each type of beer, hazy, West Coast IPA, stouts, sours, ciders and more. Pretty good service, the pizza maker made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. They have games and a large connect 4 that entertained our toddlers for awhile. Fun place and great food and drink!

Outdoor area is dog friendly! Just don't let your dog pop the soccer-tennis ball like I did lmao

What an awesome place to meet friend for pizza and drinks. They have a large outside area and fire pit to use during cooler evenings.

Ask the Community - The Commons | Social Empourium

Are persons below the age of 21 allowed to enter, just to eat?

Yes, we have games and a great spacious outside patio for families to enjoy!

What drinks do you have for designated drivers?

Soft drinks, teas, topo water, non alcoholic beer and apple juice!

    Are kids allowed?

I see this is a very old question, but just wanted to see if the updated answer would show on their profile, yes, kids are welcome. I was there in October with 2.5 yr old nephews. I believe they might have a 9pm cutoff when minors aren't encouraged…

They had a food truck (which is different depending on the day, I recommend calling to ask) and a nice outdoor seating area.

Love love LOVE this place. It took me a long time to come here because other reviews made me…read moreskeptical that I would be impressed, but I am, and this has become one of our consistent go-tos. They have absolutely NAILED their Pana Cotta. Normally, I wouldn't be a huge fan of pana cottas as it has come across to gelatin-y in the past, but I get it every time. The service is amazing. It is clear they are aiming to offer an elevated experience. That being said, it is on the longer side of a meal, and I find it much more enjoyable when I accept the leisurely pace and order an appetizer. When I do order an appetizer, the meal seems perfectly paced. Without it, it could seem a bit slow. I've loved the zucchini blossoms, calamari, and Caesar salad. (I do really like the burrata ones as well, but it's just so easy to make on your own from Trader Joes at a much lower premium.) I also love that they offer complementary focaccia, which used to be made in house. I don't believe it is now, but it is still very good. My fave dishes to get are anything with their droolworthy polenta like their chicken or veal saltimbocca (I prefer the chicken) for dinner or their chicken marsala for lunch. The chicken marsala probably is my absolute favorite, which means I HAVE to come here for their lunch sometimes, which are only Thursday and Friday. Really lovely atmosphere. I have and love to sit on their porch but no longer do because of the traffic noise. Chico designed Bruce with the traffic light right there and it's so bad - basically a raceway for meatheads in their loud trucks and motorcycles when the light turns green. Mosquitos absolutely become a problem so while I love that they sometimes put up the garage style doors/windows when the weather is nice to create a lovely indoor/outdoor experience, if you're a mosquito magnet like me, that is not the time for you to come in without mosquito protection. (One time was so bad that even though they closed it, I left with - I kid you not, I counted - no less that 18 mosquito bites on my calf.

The carpet in particular is somewhat outdated and very dreary. We were seated right away with an evening reservation. Our server was the most delightful, helpful as well as professional person. She definitely made for an enjoyable experience. The menu is nicely broad with some very good and interesting selections. For an appetizer I selected the Alsatian Tarte Flambe. With the description of a "tarte" plus "puffed pastry" I was somewhat surprised when what looked like a flatbread arrived. Although somewhat true to the description I expected something like a cup shaped pastry. It was delicious enough so no complaints over the ingredients and flavor. If anything it tasted a bit top heavy with vinegar, yet still enjoyable. I washed it down with a Schramsberg Prosecco which was a perfect accompaniment. For an entree I choose the Grilled 6oz Petit Tender (medium rare) with asparagus and scalloped potatoes topped by a red wine and berry sauce. It was excellent, flavorful with the meat very tender. I was very pleased. It was an abundant portion so I was quite full after consuming it. My dining companion had the grilled meatloaf with ground filet mignon and pork sausage. It is baked and then grilled. I tried some and it is EPIC. It has to be one of the best meatloaf preparation I ever tasted. Bravo on this dish! We shared a bottle of Tempranillo to accompany it which was perfect. For dessert we shared a nice and refreshing mint chocolate chip ice cream which was generously comped as we were there for a special occasion. Thank you! I would definitely return and try other dishes, although the meatloaf is a must standout. Overall a very good experience.
