Stumbled into this barn for lunch today, so glad we did! Awesome atmosphere, and pretty busy for a late lunch. Tons of outside seating, additional bars, and entertainment stages. Looks like it'd be a blast on the weekends! I ordered a grilled chicken salad that was great. Fiancé ordered a jalapeño burger with fries that he demolished. But the star of the show was by far the gumbo- we ordered a cup to split and it was amazing. Super spicy with plenty of shrimp and pulled pork. Will probably crave that soup since we do not live in OH. Service was lackluster, but they were busy, and appeared a bit short staffed like the rest of the world. Would recommend trying this out if you're in the Dayton area, and if you ride a motorcycle, this is definitely a spot for you read more

Hubby and I visited RipRap Roadhouse on a busy Saturday night. First I should say they had a limited menu due to many large parties and events. We were greeted and seated almost immediately though and given a nice big comfy booth. We decided on a pretzel bite appetizer which was good but typical. Hubby ordered the meatloaf sandwich which was good but oddly spicy for meatloaf. I ordered the half rack of ribs which was cooked adequately, but had a really weird sauce that tasted like hot dog chili. Hubbys mac and cheese had a weird spice to it and the fries wete cold. Waitstaff was polite and kind, but not super attentive - clearly busy. Drinks were filled without delay. We didn't wait too long, but no one asked or seemed to care if we didn't like things, which should have been obvious by the scraped sauce on the side of a half eaten half rack, untouched fries, and barely touched Mac and Cheese. Maybe it was the limited menu. Maybe it was the busy night. But I just don't think we have the same flavor palate as the cooks here. I do not expect to return. read more

Nice bar with a definite emphasis on biker but all welcome. The inside bar is comfortable with plenty of bar seating and all the tables are at bar height, and yes the stools have a back to them ....thank you ! Outside there is plenty of seating for drinking or food which is well priced and just what you want with a few pints or cocktails after a hard day riding, off roading or working in the yard. Open on weekends for breakfasts, try the bacon/ scrambled egg tacos and hash browns with a splash of hot sauce. Location fools you into thinking you are out in the country which makes it a great destination for outdoor concerts. By the way, dress code is lax, a Harley T-shirt will make it hard to find you in a crowd, my wife's museum shirt did not get us in trouble! Enjoy read more

Food was average and it took a while to get our food. The chicken was overly breaded. We had a larger party and they brought out 3 of our meals and the rest of our party had to wait 10-15 minutes after the first 3 to get theirs. We had our drinks empty for about 15 minutes before our waitress came back to refill them. After giving us our bill it took her another 20 plus minutes to come back and collect our check. The food there was usually pretty good. I loved the broasted chicken when they still had it before Covid. We stopped going there because the service can be iffy and they weren't wiping the tables down. Now this wasn't to do with any Covid phobia but to do with my distaste at sitting at a dirty table. I would say it was a fluke but sat and watched while there and no tables were wiped. There were plenty of staff walking around and the manager was there watching the TV behind the bar. My wife and I just found out last week about Rip Rap roadhouse. Today Sunday 6-12-22, I was originally confused that Villa tavern was rip rap tavern, but now I know. Madison was our bartender and she was outstanding, Ben was her bar back also an amazing individual and very pleasant. My wife had the strawberry chicken salad and I had the fried bologna sandwich and onion rings, the draft beer came in a very large mason jar as well as my shot in a smaller version. First time we went was great. But the second time we went it was awful. No seats, no high chairs, slow service. Also the menu we got was super small (not their regular menu). Had a few items from the real menu but not even close to all. Then the price on the menu said $12 and on the receipt ended up being $14, same for my husbands the menu price said $13.50 and his ended up being $15.50. That's sketchy. At that point no tip is deserved since you're already taking more money than what is advertised. read more

I visited with my two sons. The food was ok but the service and wait time for the food was terrible. It took 15 minutes just to be waited on once we sat down outside. When the server finally came over to us she was wearing a too tight, white tank top rolled up to her boobs and her larger belly was hanging out. They have a serious bee problem that needs to be addressed and it took over an hour to get our food. Our waitress never offered any bread or chips while we waited and the table next to us was extremely vulgar. When the food finally came it was lukewarm. I highly recommend not wasting your money on this establishment, unless you like dining with rude customers while being swarmed by bees and starving for an hour before you get your mediocre, overpriced food. read more

Don't let outside appearences fool you. This place is great for some good old comfort food. I suggested we go to this new place, the Rip Rap Roadhouse, I had seen on my morning hike. We parked on the Rip Rap Rd side and did a brief check of the Shake Shack. It would be a good place for dessert but I was looking for something with substance. When I looked up the hill to the restaurant, it looked closed but I saw a couple come out of the door and we went up to check it out. Boy, did I call that one wrong. This place was packed and people were hussling all over the place. A server saw us and pointed us towards a booth. As crowded as they were, menus and drinks came quickly. I also took a peek out the door opposite that we came in and saw we had come in the back door. If we would have come in the front, we would have seen a parking lot full of cars and motorcycles. The side porch bar packed with people and a court packed with people. I also found Friday nights are bike and dine nights. Feel lucky we were able to get a seat for dinner so quickly, I returned to get to business of ordering dinner. Comfort food was the bulk of the menu and I ordered the broasted chicken plate with two sides, roasted corn and cheesy potatoes. Kathy got the grilled cheese with Jalopeno cream cheese. I have to give our server and the folks that help her a big kudo. This woman was running back and forth to her 5 tables one of which had 14 and the other 8 people plus the smaller tables. She was able to get our order in and out in a fairly quick time. The chicken was piping hot and to my surprise, every piece stayed hot until I finished. The roasted corn was great and not one of those little quarter pieces but a full ear. The cheesy potatoes were well cheesy potatoes. My wife's grilled cheese was great with just the right amount of kick from the jalapeños. What a great experience and the best part about parking in the back. When we came out, we got dessert at the Shake Shack. I recommend the caramel shake. read more

Unfortunately, was probably just a bad hair day at this establishment. Ordered breasted chicken. Terrible! These pieces had been under the heat lamp so long the coating was extremely dark. The chicken was dryer than the Sahara sand. Horse leather would have been a better chew. Service was beyond very slow. Ordered drinks and waited 20 minutes to get them. We ordered dinner salads and had to ask for them AFTER we finished the entree. Sat down just before 6 and finally served meal around 7. Wont order chicken again. MIGHT order something simple like a PB&J as its hard to screw that up. Also had to get a new ticket printed. Wife ordered a dark meat chicken dinner but they were out of dark meat. Changed to chicken tenders which was less cost. Brings ticket later and breasted dinner was still on it. Waitress seemed a bit flustered when I asked for a corrected ticket. Commented it was ok just 75 cents less or something like that. Had to insist to have my ticket updated. As I said, must have been a bad hair day at the Roadhouse. read more

We gave this place last night and we were disappointed. This place has been recommended numerous times. The floor was dirty under the tables, we had to ask for silverware and plates. We had to walk up front to get the waitress for our refills. The plates they give you are cheap Styrofoam appetizer plates and everything is served on a cardboard style plate. You get very little fries, the wings were dried out and they come out with dipping sauce that you have to apply, and my child's chicken tenders were dry. The pizza is just like an over priced tonys pizza. It's over priced. The only thing that was good was the pretzel bites and my husband like the cheeseburger it you like it cooked well done. We went to Rip Rap Roadhouse on Mother's Day! The place was packed!! The hostess let us know we were looking at 1 hour or more to get our food. I liked that!!!! At least we had the option to make our own decision on waiting it out! We chose to stay! We sat at the bar and Leslie was our server, Stephanie was training her and jumped in to help when needed!! We really didn't wait long at all on our appetizers and the spinach dip was awesome! Our food kind of came out in stages but we knew it was crazy busy so we were fine. Besides the employees all made us feel like we were part of the family! Sis got meat loaf(it's almost as good as mine!) Big D got pork chops. It looked great but he wasn't sharing! I got Jambalaya!!!! Folks I'm telling you, that was so good it would about make you jump up and slap your granny!
