We went twice this past week. My twin ten year olds loved the photo props and the play zone. It was also clean.

Monica told me on your daughters big day all I want you to do is spend time with her. Do not worry about decorations or vendors that's what I am here for. it was hard for me not to be in the middke of it all but the tim wi got to spend with my daughter and the spectacular event that they made it was worth the wait. Monica and Stan thought of every single thing to ensure the wedding was flawless. Again and again I, the m-o-t-b, found myself impressed with yet another moment of a perfectly executed day of wedding plan. This was no doubt due to choosing Monica as the Day-Of Event Coordination instead of someone not familiar with the venue. Choosing Monica for this Cooridnator is really a must-do for anyone considering the Cardinal's Nest. Doing otherwise is really a disservie to yourself. Another particular note is the Access to Extensive Selection of Decor, for they have thought of everything to lighten your load and create the the absolute perfect venue. Thanks Monica and Stan for making our daughter's wedding "better than she ever could have imagined!!"

We have dined here before, and this experience was every bit as wonderful as we remembered. We both ordered the perfectly seasoned Burgundy Marinated Ribeyes, grilled exactly to our preference. Every bite was tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. For my sides, I chose the Crispy Cornmeal Fried Okra and Roasted Potatoes, while my husband had the Cauliflower and Broccoli Mix with Roasted Potatoes. I have to give a special shout-out to the fried okra--it was, without a doubt, the best fried okra I have ever eaten, and I'm from the South, so that says a lot! Our evening started with fresh house salads and our choice of dressing, accompanied by homemade bread. There was also a carafe of water with a crystal bowl of lemon slices and a dish of softened, creamy butter that was absolutely delicious spread over the warm, soft homemade bread. Those little details really added to the experience. And then came dessert! The homemade desserts were both delicious and generously portioned. We tried the Blueberry Chess Pie with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It reminded me of a buttermilk pie with blueberries, and it was absolutely delicious. We also had the Apple Cobbler, served with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. The cobbler had a light cake-like base rather than a heavy dough, with just the right amount of sweetness and cinnamon. The edges were perfectly crispy--just like all good cobblers should be! Needless to say, we left pleasantly full, and I even took some of my meal home with me. This is one set of leftovers I cannot wait to dig into! Another unexpected highlight of our evening was the view from the side dining area. We sat by the windows overlooking the greenery and the chicken coop. I was completely entertained watching the chickens come out of their coop, cross the little dirt road, wander into the bushes on the other side, and then eventually make their way back through the shaded grass toward the front yard and coop as dusk settled in. It was such a peaceful and charming part of the evening. I also have to mention the Creamy Herb Chicken. Our daughter ordered it the last time we dined here, and we tried the crème fraîche herb sauce that came with it. Oh my goodness--it was to die for! My husband didn't remember that the sauce only comes with that particular chicken dish, so now we have the perfect excuse to come back soon so we can all enjoy it! Overall, I give our experience a 10 out of 10 for the ambiance, quality, generous portions, flavor, and attention to detail. Thank you, Chef Eric and Blue Mountain Mist Country Inn, for helping make our 19th Wedding Anniversary dinner so special. We truly enjoyed our evening and look forward to returning soon!

Some of our favorite aspects of this bed and breakfast include: our "Sugarlands" room with an amazing jacuzzi tub facing the outdoors, fresh baked goodies each night at 6:30 pm, the four resident kitties (our favorite being Mittens), the relaxing wrap around porch, and last but not least, the legendary breakfast. We looked forward to the breakfast and the Chef's creations each morning. I loved how they accommodated some of my dietary requests. The eggs were farm fresh, and a beautiful yellow hue. The fresh fruit with the fruit topping quickly became our favorite! Also, they have a well stocked coffee and tea station and cold drinks in the fridge that guests can help themselves to during any time of the day. So, if you're looking for a truly unique stay in the Smoky Mountains with spectacular views and mouthwatering breakfasts, look no further!! We have already booked our next stay and are counting down the days when we're sitting on the porch of the Blue Mountain Mist Inn again.

The Cook Loft is a fabulously fun place to hangout, have a party or spend the weekend in Knoxville…read more It's directly across from the parking lot next to the Bijou Theatre. I was at an event at this loft and fell in love with this place. You are conveniently located in downtown Knoxville, close to many venues, the University of Tennessee, restaurants and bars. It's a 2 bedroom loft with 2 full bathrooms. This would be ideal for a Football Game Weekend! On their website it states the rates. 1 night = $495 UT Football Package (2 night minimum stay, $700 per night) = $1400 Even though it is a little pricey, think about it for 2 couples you have a 2 bedroom apartment with a full kitchen that has a lot of natural light (moonlights too), living room & dining room area. If you stayed in a nice hotel it might be around $400 per night, and you wouldn't even have a full kitchen, dining room, or living room. So for me, I think this place is totally worth it. I think you should check it out if you are from out of town or even live here. I really like this place. The only thing I wish it had was a rooftop to sit and hangout on. Other than that I love the Cook Loft! Hope you love it as much as I do!! Cheers & Enjoy!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We stayed in "Lake my Day" (LOVE the fun names…read morethey give the rooms) Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bed and bedding were absolutely luxurious! Our own private deck with a full size, well functioning hot tub was why we rented this place to begin with. And it did not disappoint. Our hot tub cover was done, water logged and difficult for one person to take off, but thats fixable.... And did not deter our enjoyable time at all. We star gazed from the hot tub. The morning was just as good. I got up at Sunrise and sat in that tub water the wild life. The small villas have privacy screen walls for the decks. The two end units are more open without privacy screens on the corners. There is a one time cleaning fee so if you stay more than 1 night, the cost is VERY affordable. I very much wish we had just rented this place the WHOLE time we were in TN. I am sad to leave. This was a perfect jumping off ground to the Great Smokey Mountains and Knoxville. The owner was delightful, easy to work with and i am thrilled they bought this place 3 years ago. Anything i can do to support this hard working young family, i will do. Stay here. Its GREAT!

Ole Red - Gatlinburg…read more Sometimes the best places are the ones you never planned on visiting. We were having a miserable day in Gatlinburg. It was Labor Day weekend, hotter than hell, the streets were packed, and then our trolley broke down way down the road. By the time we made it into town, we were hot, tired, and pretty much done with humanity for the afternoon. We walked into Ole Red for one simple reason: air-conditioning and a cold drink. We figured we'd cool off for a few minutes and move on. A couple hours later, we were still there. This place completely won us over. There was a young guy onstage playing live music, the atmosphere was fun and relaxed, and instead of feeling like another crowded Gatlinburg tourist stop, it became exactly what we needed. Then came the wings. My parents ran a very popular wing bar in South Jersey, so I've been around good wings most of my life. Because of that, I order them almost everywhere I go, and I'm probably harder on wings than most people. I wasn't expecting anything special here. These wings were fantastic. Crispy, meaty, full of flavor, and honestly much better than I ever expected from a place where we'd originally stopped just to escape the heat. That's what I'll remember about Ole Red. We walked in hot, aggravated, and looking for 20 minutes of air-conditioning. We walked out a couple hours later talking about how glad we stopped. Sometimes a bad day just needs good wings, cold drinks, live music, and a little air-conditioning. Definitely recommend Ole Red when you're in Gatlinburg.

Obviously, he could tell I was young, and since I'm not 21 yet, I sadly had to decline. I knew I probably wasn't going to be seated there anyway, but it was a funny interaction that immediately set a good mood for me. My waiter was also really nice, and while the food is a bit pricey, I completely understand the pricing considering this is also a music venue. You're paying for good service, quality food, & the overall atmosphere with live music, so I really can't complain because you get what you pay for. My only real complaint is that I wish the venue had a little more variety in the music they play. Other than that, I had a really good experience & would definitely come back. P.S : Tip the artist
