For what it is, it's perfect beach food. A little more expensive than it should be, but you're paying for the convenience of not having to leave the boardwalk for something to eat; plus that nice view of the ocean where you can often see dolphins and sometimes whales while you eat your food. My only real complaint is that it takes a long time to get your food, even when it's not busy, and the cash only thing is a bummer because very few people carry cash with them still. PSA A Group of us Played Pickleball today, After that we Stopped by Riptides on the Long Beach Boardwalk for Lunch. I had the Ahi Tuna Wrap with a Red Cabbage Slaw, Avocado, And a Sesame Sauce. The Tuna Was so fresh and delicious and there was plenty of It. I couldn't finish it so I put the rest in the fridge and now I'm finishing it. Lol. The perfect beach lunch! If I'm spending the day at the beach, I usually will stop at Riptides for lunch. It's right on the boardwalk so it couldn't be any more convenient. They also have a good amount of tables lining the boardwalk, and also a small indoor seating area if you're looking for a break from the sun. The people are always friendly and the food is good! My personal favorite is the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla. Now that it's fall and it's not beach weather, I'll definitely be stopping for breakfast or an acai bowl as a break on my boardwalk biking days. Keep in mind it's cash only, but they have an ATM on site! read more

On the beach and hungry, check this spot out for fast service and quick eats. Atmosphere was very relaxing with colorful chairs, umbrellas on the boardwalk and a section on the sand as well. Covid rules, CASH ONLY!!! and MASK UP!! and guess what yelpers, check in and get a discount just for being a yelper. whats better than that. also parking right in front was free. we ordered a array of items all with french fries and it was mhmm mhmm good. This place makes summer mornings wonderful. Their food is wonderful -- we usually get the playa bowls which are incredible. Sorry they no longer have plantains which we craved! The service is friendly and pretty quick. Great Caribbean music plays in the background. If you sit outside on the boardwalk, they will deliver to you. They are open until about 3 or 4, but once you eat the bowls you are full until dinner! They leave Columbus Day to go to Puerto Rico -- maybe one day we will go down there and visit and have a banana bowl for breakfast. Until then, looking forward to next summer. read more

Always an amazing experience here! We were in town and decided to come by after a run on the boardwalk. It was a beautiful day so we sat a table outside. The lines to order were long but moved quickly. The young lady who took our order was so sweet & smiling the whole time. We both ordered a Riptide burrito and eye opener smoothies. The burrito had eggs, spinach, bacon, beans, guacamole & cheese. The wonderful staff bought your food out to you at your table. The burrito was a generous size with salsa on the side. It tasted so fresh and delicious! The eye opener was so thick and flavorful with cold brew coffee, banana, almond butter, almond milk & cinnamon. A friendly man even came by clean our table when we were done and ask how everything was. We were told he is the owner. So I absolutely adore the beach. I also get that it's not everyone's cup of tea*, but having grown up on the water I can't help myself. I also know it's crazy important to show up early to ensure a good position in the sand**. This being my first time in Long Beach, I was stoked to get there early and check the place out. I was not disappointed. Solid boardwalk, deep sandy beach, and water that was surf-ready. It being ~8 am though, we were pretty hungry. We first tried the little food truck area, but that was very much shut down, save one little coffee cart staffed by a youngster who clearly didn't want to be there (again I get it, and yes I know I sound like an old man...c'est la vie). As I was waiting for coffee to be poured from the aforementioned teen, I told my group to head up to a spot I knew was open and was only a block away. If only we had parked one block over all of this could have been avoided. You see, the locals, as usual, know what's up, and Rip Tides was very much jamming. And for a good reason. The menu is expensive, and filled with awesome stuff like breakfast tacos, and fish tacos. It being so early I went with a BEC on a bagel which was way better than I expected from a surf taco-like shop. Eggs a little run, tons of meat and cheese, and a NY bagel. Score. The place is cash only, which I don't love but the prices were super reasonable, and everything we got was absolutely on point. If you're by this spot in LB and looking for a great place to kick off the day or escape the sun for a bit then look no further. My favorite spot to eat on the Long Beach boardwalk! The food here is pretty good, not spectacular but it's an incredible location and a great casual option if you are nearby or looking to have lunch/dinner on the boardwalk. They are also always playing the best beach music, even in the off season! I really like their chicken BLT salad, tacos, and smoothie bowl. I'd skip the regular smoothies and get one from another spot nearby, there is better in the area. Overall: good food, great atmosphere, check it out if you are in the area! read more

I went with my fiancé and son to the craft fair. We wanted to stop and eat at rip tides. My Fiancé and son sat on a bench while I went on line to order food. No sooner did they sit down, they were approached by the manager/what I believe to be the owner and said that they had to get up and leave. They tried to explain that I was on the line trying to buy food but he interrupted her and spoke over her and said "no outside food you gotta get up and go." They came to me while I was on the line and told me what happened. I was so disappointed, I didn't want to place my order anymore. I wanted to support a local business but got shooed away very rudely. I took my money elsewhere and supported a different local establishment. I have no idea when this place opened but I remember for years I was saying why is there no food on the boardwalk? This is exactly what I envisioned! Seriously they read my mind lol. I actually wanted to come last year but my boy was a little baby :P I'm happy we waited because we got to sit at a table and he loved it. People watching is his thing. The fries were delicious. My son probably would have loved them when he ate fries :P he's now in his I won't eat the fries but I love ketchup so yeah he had a ton of fun with that. HORRIBLE OWNER VERBALLY ASSAULTED TWO YOUNG GIRLS!! As I was eating my food, which was mediocre at best, I witnessed the owner of this restaurant scream at two girls. The girls were just walking on the boardwalk outside of the establishment when the owner approached them, yelling at them that they could not be there. He said that they had to leave immediately and that he would escort them out, again these girls did nothing they were just walking on the boardwalk. He then got in their face and shoveled them, almost touching them but the girls kept backing away scared, and threatened to call the cops on them. To make matters worse, the girls were literally leaving and he followed them, all the way down the boardwalk to the parking lot. While doing so, he called the cops anyways. I am not sure why those girls were not allowed to be on a PUBLIC beach, but the owner believed that it was his right to harass two innocent girls. The subpar food was not worth it to support a business with such horrific management. In a place with so many restaurants, go somewhere else!! I hope those girls are okay because what i witnessed was truly horrifying. This did in fact happen, despite what the owner may have commented in response to this review. If she is so confident that I am not telling the truth, I encourage her to post any surveillance footage from outside their establishment facing the boardwalk at from the time of about 1:15-1:25ish. read more

Stopped by with the family after a good beach trip for some quick bite before our way home, they do have an extensive menu and the place is run by a bunch of young hipsters who are very courteous and the food comes out extremely quick!! They also have a sweet yelp check in discount which helps you ease the costs of you have a large family. The food is good and basic fast food with a slighter fresher feel. My favorite item was the fish and chips, which I would get again. Would skip the mermaid salad - it was just plain vegetables (spinach, cucumber, tomatoes) without any seasoning and a dressing on the side. Would skip the guac - the avocados weren't fresh. This boardwalk spot has become a Sunday staple in my boyfriend and my routine!! I have to admit, I tend to get the same thing everytime, but that is because the Banana Bowl is simply that incredible!! Filling but healthy, you're basically set up for a scari-less Sunday after one of these!! I have heard from friends that their other menu items are also awesome! Yesterday I went to the craft fair with my family. We started to get hungry and decided to have lunch. I was very excited because I always wanted to try the food at riptides and thought this was the perfect opportunity. My son and I sat on the bench while my fiancé waited on the line to place the order for us. Within 5 minutes a man came up to me telling us we had to move because the bench was for riptide customers only. I tried to explain that my fiance was on the line ordering but he proceeded to speak over me repeatedly "you gotta move no outside food this is for riptides only" it was obnoxious. We got up and walked to the line and I told my fiance what happened. We left and had our lunch elsewhere. I will never give riptides my business. I never tried it and I never will. Someone that obnoxious shouldn't be in the restaurant bussiness. Shame read more

June 11 2024 don't know who was making the wraps at lunchtime but it was so bad don't know why I didn't give it back . Got the surfer I think it's called chicken guacamole onion tomato I bite into it and all the guts come out the other end so thinking I can re wrap it I opened it up was even nasty inside not a lot of chicken thick slices of red onion un ripe tomato slice I was just really hungry and dealt with it eating like an open sandwich. The reason I got it because last week got and it was so delish lots of diced chicken wrapped really tight the way it should be it just ate so well . Whoever was in that kitchen needs a different job maybe food runner . I won't be getting that again really turned off . Need some more variety of wraps read more

Walked in to get dinner. Owner or manager greeted us with a brisk and dismissive, "Close at 8." We looked at our watch and saw 7:49. Even if it were 8, I was annoyed with the response. We didn't get a "Sorry folks, we close at 8." It was almost like he was annoyed we were even trying to come in. And on top of all that, it wasn't even 8 yet. If you say you're closing at 8, then close at 8. Good thing is the food trucks are right there, so we walked over and enjoyed our dinner elsewhere. read more

You place your order, pay, put some money in the tip jar, and let them know if you are going to sit right there, or alongside the restaurant in the spacious, colorful, open-air area, located on the side of the restaurant. Your food is brought out to you by a runner. Service with a smile, was welcoming, friendly, patient, and very fast. It seemed like we had our hot food in five minutes or less!! This was great since we were hungry after being up early, catching the RR FROM Manhattan/Penn Station & taking part in the Climate March. Here's what we ate, & see my food photos. Fish Tacos, served with fresh red & green slaw. The fish was cod, fresh, & deep fried in a wonderfully crispy triangle shape & tasted soooo good n fresh. We had a choice of flour or corn taco, we went with crispy corn. This meal was great!! 2 tacos in one order for under $10. We also had the chicken taco, also delicious. I think it was shredded chicken, black beans, lettuce, maybe tomato...to be honest, I was so hungry, I can't recall all the ingredients, but I can tell you, it was also yummy good. Two same type tacos in one order, so, if you go with a friend, and each order a different taco plate, you can trade a taco, so you get two different tacos....this is done by you, once you have your food. Each Taco Order consists of TWO SAME TYPE TACOS. There is outdoor seating in the front of the restaurant, facing the ocean, and there is beautiful, fun, colorful seating, in the sand, on the side of the restaurant. LOVE THIS! And how smart & efficient to have a sturdy roll of paper towels at each colorful picnic table in the sand. A nearby condiment station, too. Also in the sand, you'll find that large wooden cutout where you can put your face & have a pal take a photo--fun stuff in this fabulous sandbox. OVERALL: EXCELLENT!!! Every part of this dining experience was great. I look forward to visiting Long Beach again!! And, I'll have lunch here again, & maybe dinner, too! I LOVE THIS PLACE & THE FOOD. Such a great spot right on the boardwalk to get really good food!! I had a grilled shrimp taco, which came with a pineapple salsa and cilantro. It was great! Really tasty. I frequent the long beach boardwalk over the summer quite often. It's such a gem! If you're hoping to find a place with good food during your next trip to the beach or boardwalk, definitely give this place a try! The wait was about 10-15 minutes or less. read more
