I LOVE DEMIS! This is a spot my sister and I always go to when she comes back home. We have been coming to Demi's for years and we have never had a bad experience. The waitress are lovely, I feel like they're my family with how kind and attentive they are. It's a the perfect American diner experience, I love the little trinkets on the walls; it adds so much personality. And of course the breakfast is always 10/10. My corned beef hash and eggs were delightful. My sister got the pancake platter adding in chocolate chips. We delete these plates every time, becuase it really is that good. Demi, I wanted to like you, I really did. But it does not hit the spot. If you want a solid breakfast, go to a diner. If you want to feel all cutesy in a mom and pop shop, but leave hungry, then Demi's is your place. Ordered pickup and got an egg white western omelet with home fries. The potatoes were not cooked, in fact most of them were raw on the inside. The omelet itself is half the size of a diner omelet. Also they forgot the sides of bread for both my meal and my husband's. We stopped in here for breakfast on the way to the train station. Few spots in their lot, otherwise street parking is available. It's not very big. There are a few tables and the counter. This spot is not ideal for more than four people. We had three people and had to wait 20 minutes. Our waitress was nice, but the other waitress seemed like she had an attitude. Maybe because it's hot in there, the air conditioning doesn't do much. It's cash only so be prepared. I will say the food was good. I got the breakfast platter and was full after. Fantastic, quaint neighborhood diner. Place has a killer ambiance: straight up retro feel with the old teal countertops and low barstool seating, white ceramic coffee mugs, menu/messages posted on a letter board and dated paraphernalia. You just kind of walk in and post up in a free spot. Place is cash only and they have an ATM right outside. The food was awesome and super cheap. I went with the breakfast special (2 eggs any style, bacon/ham/sausage, toast and the completely necessary endless coffee for $6.90). My other half went a coconut, strawberry and blueberry waffle. Eggs were cooked perfectly (over easy), bacon was crispy but not burnt, the waffle was flaky on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the coffee did flow endlessly. The portions were very generous, especially considering the price point. Twenty bucks goes a long way here. Service was quick, attentive and personable. They invest time checking in on each of their customers and find time for some light conversation. The eggs sandwiches seemed to be a crowd pleaser (seemed to be every other order). They looked enormous and delicious. Will definitely have to be back to give them a try. read more

So before Covid I always have enjoyed this place. Good food and for the most part good staff. We decided we wanted to go there today. As we walked in it was packed. Now I am not complaining about that, I was happy to see people enjoying the good food. but it makes NO SENSE to have to wear a mask into a place where you can eat and take your mask off then. Again not a complaint with Demi's. What I found absolutely idiotic was they have plastic small dividers hanging from the ceiling (that have jagged edges mind you). I understand what they were trying but makes no sense because if we sat at the counter there is no dividers. ???? Makes sense? No! The place is a cute small coffee shop and I love that but If you're so concerned about the pandemic then why have full capacity? Our waiter was very nice though. They prepare food the way you would at home and they charge a very reasonable price. Breakfast and lunch everyday and you still have money in your pocket. DEMIS SERVES THE BEST BREAKFAST/BRUNCH on long island. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for over a year. We make jokes about skipping work to go to Demis. The owners are so so so sweet. Sheryl, my favorite worker is the kindest woman you will ever meet. The food is phenomenal, and the menu has basically any breakfast item you can think of. From muffins to CORN BEEF HASH (loveeeee), to omelets, to burgers. Everything is drop-dead amazing. If you are looking for somewhere new to go I wouldn't suggest anything else. The prices are surprisingly cheap considering the portion size, the service, and the atmosphere. Which reminds me! The ambiance is so amazing, they decorate for holidays and have silly little night-before-Christmas characters all over the restaurant, I feel like I'm in the 80s. There is no picture of the food because I'm always hungry and cannot wait to eat what Demi's is serving up. I can't say I have had a bad thing off their menu. My go-to is their homemade corned beef hash. The eggs are always cooked exactly how I ask for them and the CB is truly homemade. What truly wins me over on the plate is their breakfast potatoes. I am not a fan of breakfast potatoes and often believe they are out of place in many dishes. But these potatoes are seasoned to perfection, crispy, and compliment the meal without overpowering everything else. Highly recommend Demi's! read more

Demi's is definitely one of my favorite breakfast places. Walking into Demi' reminds me of CHEERS, no one is a stranger at Demi's. They have a great selection of solid breakfast foods. Bacon, Eggs, Toast, French Toast, etc. They also have excellent grilled cheeses and grits, which are my favorite. Small shop, great atmosphere, and breakfast served all day! We love Demis! Found this gem of a spot about 5 years ago on my way to the beach, and my boyfriend and I return every weekend now for breakfast since. It's a 20 minute drive for us, but well worth it. The food is always awesome - everything tastes better when a place is family owned and run. They make sure to get it right, and they always do. The owner is also the cook. His wife is the waitress. They're so friendly and never forget names and orders after you've been there more than once. The prices are the very cheapest for diners that I've yet to find. You can leave there with two full bellies for well under $20. Go check them out! Support your local diners like Demis. Don't let the gigantic greek diner chains take over. This is what comfort food is all about, and these places are few and far these days. A dying breed. read more

My husband and I stumbled upon Demi's one morning while headed out to a diner for breakfast. What a great find! The place is quite small, and you may have to wait a bit for a table, but you won't mind as you watch this small restaurant buzz around you. The food is good and the prices are amazing! I love that they don't charge extra for egg whites AND they have a veggie sausage pattie on their menu! It seems that this restaurant is run by one woman and one server, as well as two cooks. No one in Demi's seemed prepared to handle the large Sunday morning crowd. Waited an hour for food that was average at best. Staff seemed friendly enough, though. One could have easily dealt with the food, as it was not terrible, but the cleanliness in Demi's seemed nonexistent. We sat by the window and noticed dead bugs scattered all across the windowsill. Makes you wonder about the cleanliness in other areas of the restaurant. On the plus side, prices are incredibly cheap. I believe we paid around $15 or so for both our meals. Great little family run dinette. I ordered 3 eggs over easy and it came with bacon, sausage and ham plus toast. Usually most places only give you a choice of one not all 3. Was pretty impressed with that. Staff was friendly and quick. Very homey feel. It's right across the street from the Stone Turtle so be on the lookout because you can easily drive right past it. They also have lunch too. Some of the sandwiches looked enticing, but I was in the mood for breakfast. If you live in the area or on the way to or from the beach, definitely check it out. I'm confused. The server was pleasant, charming and accurate. The things that are always an issue for me at breakfast places, the doneness of toast, sausage, potatoes were handled perfectly. That said, the coffee was okay but weak. The poached eggs, the centerpiece of breakfast, were way overdone, to nearly the consistency of hard-boiled; i.e. no run to the yolk. When I asked for a do-over, the waitress immediately took them away. But she took the whole plate, and apparently brought back the same toast, potatoes and sausage, all now cold, with the now correctly cooked eggs. The potatoes turned out to be over seasoned, the "pumpernickel" toast was marble rye. No complaints about the sausage. Coulda been great. Wasn't. read more

This place is near my house, it's in walking distance. I come here all the time for breakfast, today I had the egg sandwich and an iced tea. I sat in the back and there was something particularly annoying. There where tons of flys back there which was unpleasant during the meal, don't get me wrong the egg sandwich was delicious. Great meal. The inside gives you that local small diner with a beach vibe to it. The seating area is not huge so I imagine during peak hours you may have to wait a bit-but worth it for sure. There is also counter seating which is also an option. The "Thick French", challah French toast (served with eggs and your choice of bacon or sausage) it totally hit the spot, I usually never get French toast and something overcame me and I don't regret my choice. The meal (and entire menu) was overall cheap and the menu was pretty extensive with many brunch and lunch options. Only thing guests should take note of before coming is that Demi's is CASH ONLY. I used to come here with my girlfriend, ordered the roast beef and nephew sandwich and loved it. Today really took the cake though, I call on my way to work to see if I can grab a sandwich and fries on the way in and the owner was mad rude and said he couldn't make the fries and only the sandwich. He told me to bring mcdonalds fries, like are you serious? I've stopped coming here originally because the owners wife was mad rude waiting tables, don't know why because we were always generous tippers and ordered a lot of things there, but now I've lost all interest ingoing. For a place that's only open till 2pm, I didn't think that they needed less customers but now they have 2 less. read more

I've been coming here for a while, and have always really enjoyed the service and food....just make sure you don't catch the owner on a bad day, because he might just go psycho on you with absolutely no provocation. I work in a restaurant myself, and my interaction with the waiter was not unpleasant...pretty standard, but when he brought my order to the kitchen, with just myself my girlfriend, the owner and our waiter in the restaurant, the owner made several loud and rude comments about my order (he seemed to be upset that I ordered two waffles), which made me incredibly uncomfortable, but I didn't intend to say anything about it. The first waffle came out awesome, and when the second one came out looking pretty horrendous I didn't intend on saying anything about that either, because the first one came out so well and I liked this place, and when asked about not touching the waffle I said it was fine, again because I didn't want to start an issue. But this person would not take no for an answer and continued on to raise his voice at my girlfriend and then me and then to verbally assault me when we had just gotten our food not too long before (my girlfriend had only managed to get a few bites of her food in), when it was clear that finishing our meals in peace was not an option I tried to pay for the food and service...the kid who served us did absolutely nothing wrong, but the owner took the money I left on the table and followed my girlfriend and me out to my car...as we were pulling away he threw it at us and it blew away in the wind....I imagine the waiter was not compensated from the owner's pocket even though some of that money was meant for him. I have never been treated so poorly for no apparent reason; that man should be ashamed of himself. read more

I am updating a review I wrote quite a while ago, that mostly had to do with a bad server. We recently went to Demi's again for breakfast-this time dining outside because of Covid. It was really enjoyable and the food is still good and fresh. What made it better was being served by Demi herself. She was attentive, organized and very friendly. She didn't appear to be ignoring or overlooking anyone, which was the initial problem with our earlier experience. We tried going back last weekend but since Demi wasn't in sight and "the other" server was, we opted to dine elsewhere. read more
