    Yummy lobby and choices!

In what looks like an area in the midst of gentrification, the bakery is located in a pocket of restaurants and shops. We were fortunate to find free street parking out front. A pay for parking lot is nearby. Late arrival around 1:30pm while enroute to Asheville. Fortunately, a variety of treats were still available. The aroma of fresh bread was amazing! Since this was the start of our trip, bread was not on our list. Wish they were open on Sunday when we are heading back to GA! Loaves and baguette options were calling my name. I love bakeries and particularly one with talented chefs who create kouigan amman . Very tasty despite the smallish size for $4. The cinnamon roll was also delicious and devoured. Personally, no need for the cream cheese frosting....perhaps the plain version was already sold out. Looking forward to visiting on our next trip, highly recommend!

Sandwich is similar to this picture made on long, thin, sliced, sourdough bread with quality ingredients.

A favorite here is a sandwich that looks similar to this picture: Fig & Brie sandwich on a long, thin, sliced sourdough roll ADD ham. This little shop also offers pastries, etc. Occasionally, I've seen discounted pricing on Saturday. Loaves Menu: Seasonal Selection Bacon, Scallion, Parmesan and Onion Rye are the current Saturday specialty loaves. Stop by for our weekly specialty loaves: Tuesday - Cinnamon Raisin Swirl/Ciabatta Wednesday - Multigrain Thursday - Seeded Rye/Ciabatta Friday - Challah Saturday - 100% Carolina Ground whole wheat

The best smell on the planet is here! Fast friendly service! Delicious pastries. I could eat here everyday!

Cute lil bakery offering everything from a danish to cinnamon roll to breakfast sammy to homemade cheeses n butter! Oh and the have a full coffe n tea bar with in house made syrups including ear grey or juniper syrup! The latte I ordered was perfect creamy with little foam as requested and hot enough that I could zip on it for a bit to enjoy! It's located in an artsy area of west Greenville that seems to be going through a transition of some sort! The cherry cream danish was excellent- real cherries not that yucky compote stuff and real vanilla cream and just enough sweet to enjoy but not nauseating artificial sweet! When we return to Greenville we shall definitely stop again!

An incredible place to get sourdough! I managed to get my hands on a bunch of pastries and they were all incredible. Cannot wait to go back again on of these days. I'm taking country loaf and making grilled cheese sandwiches with it and I can't wait. Appreciate the help from the folks at Rise Bakery!

Your head almost spins trying to see everything. Thankfully I was there for one thing. I ordered the slice of carrot cake which was pre cut. Which I typically try to avoid but they said that's what they had. We chatted briefly about extremely sweet icing and cake preferences before paying and leaving. The cake itself almost had zero sweetness to it which made the icing taste extremely sweet and unbalanced between to two. Even by itself the icing was very sweet. The cake , probably because it was precut and sitting for who knows how long, wasn't very moist. While not unbearably dry it was pushing the line of being too dry. I think a fresh cut slice would be way better moisture wise, but still unbalanced sweetness. I'd like to see what else the city a has to offer cake wise but I wouldn't call this one particularly great. I'd call this 2.5/5 but can't give half star reviews. The cake being the main reason for the visit and being kind of dry and unbalanced impacts the whole experience

The old adage that "we first eat with our eyes" is on full display here; pictures cannot do it full justice. And the smells of the bakery and cafe add to the sensory experience. The bakery side infuses flavors in their treats with flavors wash technique (typically on unbaked products and based on egg and cream mixture) that ensures moist and tender cakes or pastries. One example, for the forthcoming Kentucky Derby they had a cake washed with mint and bourbon that included a mint layer of icing and a bourbon based layer of icing inside the cake to achieve a "mint julep" cake. Of several items we purchased, mostly the cake part is standard white cake with flavor added and very nicely decorated. If one were to judge just on taste, it's essentially a good white cake, the "wow" comes from the decoration and somewhat the flavors. Heavy on the icing. But that is the decadence many want, and it looks great. I had the key lime pound cake and it was good, but a lighter example compared to Granny's (my Granny), so that's an unfair comparison, but it was lighter than anticipated and Granny's isn't the only pound cake I've had. The key lime was more subtle than the visual and mostly came from the glaze. The visual was so good, I asked if we could buy by the slice and the staff agreed to slice up a full cake for my slice and since they were getting low on pre-sliced available pound cake options. My wife loved it all! They do have take and bake casseroles and the cafe side has great sandwiches, an admirable Reuben if I remember. We must come here more often as it is very good and convenient and Granny took here recipe to the grave years ago, (RIP).

No bagels! However, a whole variety of different breads are available. The sweet treats are an absolute Picture. They have decorated whole cakes, pastries, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and so much more. Everything is baked in house and you can see the pastry chefs in the background doing their work. The bakery is large with lots of space to sit down in the eat. They have indoor seating, they have patio seating that is enclosed, and then they have outdoor patio seating. Very comfortable. Parking is very easy with a large lot in front. They have beautiful cakes you can order on site, and they have lovely gift items; honey, truffles, kitchen items and more and more. We went on a Sunday morning and the staff was great and quick. For coffee, I tried one of their current specials, a cinnamon bun latte. I loved it. This latte is for someone who likes it sweet. For my lunch, I got the salami goat sandwich. It was creamy and spicy, and the bread had the perfect bounce. My friend ordered the turkey and fig sandwich, and she let me take a bite. I'd be tempted to order that one next time. As a note, they don't do any substitutions on any sandwich. They will let you remove an item, but you cannot swap. I took a lemon pistachio olive oil cake to go. This was the star of the show. It was light, fresh and moist. I would come back for one everytime.
