Rise Bar, is fine.... Nothing to write home about. Very modern decor, almost looks a little sterile. I ordered a Paloma, which may not be a popular drink on the East Coast and it was pretty terrible. Bartenders are nice enough and the music was great but I never need to return here. read more

Came for Easter Brunch and it was AMAZING!! The Queens, Jackie Cox and Paige Turner, were on fire, the atmosphere was fabulously energetic, and the server, Chase, was really wonderful. He was attentive, sweet, and friendly. He wasn't too hard on the eyes either. ;) The food was even better than I'd expected, to be honest. It's a bar, not a restaurant, so I'd adjusted my expectations accordingly, but the Deep French Toast (gotta love the name) and the bacon were delicious!! Very generic bar that offers nothing special for HK other than being slightly less small and overcrowded. A bad place to see a drag show or RPDR because low ceilings, U-shape, pillars. There are just much better bars in HK. Choose a better option. They are nearby and plentiful. Not sure why one would order food here, but it's unimaginative and deeply subpar. The drinks are overpriced , even by the standards of NYC. A number of the staff are just fine , but they have a repeat problem hiring rude and disrespectful staff-- both bar and at the door. I'd advise also to check out their Google Reviews. A pattern of deceptive fees and overcharging, and an owner who defends these practices and calls his own paying customers liars. The owner claims a 8.875% "tax discount" if you pay in cash. I say go for it ... you're not going to get audited lol. read more

OMG the Queens of Hells Kitchen are unsurprisingly overly critical of Rise Bar. The talons are out. My experience was generally positive. Plenty of light and not dingy I found it a great place to grab a drink. The downside is the fact they are very limited in fresh ingredients and what they can actually make (think plastic cups for cocktails). Once you get over that it is a friendly crowd and uplifting experience. The bartenders are sweethearts for the most part. read more

One of the best and cleanest gay bars in Manhattan. The staff is very attentive and friendly. It really makes the whole experience amazing when you see how much fun everyone is having. The bosses are very hands-on with everything includding helping guests outside with any issues. Plus the diversity at rise is pretty amazing. read more

Bartender (Zar or Sar) as March 26, 2025 lost my ID and bank card and was unapologetic about it by closing it out to another customer handing over both cards to another person. Had to pressure him and management to do something about it. Finally they looked at cameras and found the wrong guy they gave my card to. Pathetic. Thank God the guy was willing to come back. That is not always the case. If you plan on going there, be careful and immediately close your tabs as dumb mistakes can happen with these bartenders. read more

The service was really good and so we're the brunch drinks. The down side for me was the food. Based on the lighting you may not be able to see that my well done burger was super raw. The waiter brought it over and said it was medium so I said I ordered medium well, they brought it back a few minutes later and this is what I got. For $60 I should be able to eat what I ordered.
