Lots of mediums used - paint, shaving cream, molding clay, oil pastels, etc etc etc the list goes on. They spare no expense on quality projects that result in pieces that can be displayed at home all year long. They don't end up in the trash bin! Beyond the content of camp, Art Venture feels safe and well organized. Class sizes are capped and there's enough staff for every group.

The girls all had a wonderful time. McKenna is truly a gem. Very friendly, professional and kind. Very easy to work with/plan the party. And I thought very reasonably priced! Our son has been coming here for a couple of months now, and has been…read moreworking on his interpersonal and social skills through the PEERS program, as well as continuing that training in the less formal LEGO club. Each program is designed to aid children who need assistance in developing and growing their social skills, and our son has been making leaps and bounds since starting here! Our son has Asperger's syndrome, and Anna has been wonderful in working with him. We did all of our homework, and her credentials all check out (which is something that we always do before working with a service provider.) Both of our boys come for LEGO club, and both of them look forward to it each week, even though we get up fairly early each Saturday to get there. LEGO club proved to be an excellent starting point for the boys, and allowed them to really grow comfortable in the setting before we got the PEERS program set up for our eldest. Now, to the details: the facility is absolutely beautiful. Build inside a dual use location in Carlsbad, the downstairs is set up for the program. Tastefully decorated, it is fun, light, and airy, with plenty of slightly subdued colors that look delightful without being overwhelming. There are plenty of toys, and the collection of LEGO's is constantly expanding. There is a good mix of special needs and typical children, which allows for real interactions that are all supervised and directed by Anna and her staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accepting. We truly could not be happier! Would I recommend her to family and friends? Absolutely, and have already gone out of my way to do so. If you have a child that is struggling with social interactions, if you have a child who needs a boost, if you have a child who just doesn't quite get it, this is the place to go. We have already seen honest-to-goodness measurable improvements (which as an aside is something that is also done through the PEERS program.) In summary, this program is excellent and Anna makes it all seem so easy. And, if I'm honest, I've probably picked up a pointer or two for applying in my own life as well.

I enrolled my daughter, who was 2 years and 2 months old at the time, in July because I wanted her to have a structured learning routine. We chose Learning Jungle in Valley Center because it's nearby, making it easy to reach her in an emergency. They also offer a well-organized schedule, which provides consistency and routine. Security and Monitoring: From the beginning, I appreciated the ability to drop in and check on my daughter and observe how the staff operates. Learning Jungle has an open-door policy, welcoming parents of registered students to visit and observe. The facility has secure, locked doors requiring a code provided only to parents/guardians, and someone is always stationed at the front desk. Child gates are in place to prevent children from exiting the building on their own, and the outdoor play area is fully fenced for added safety. I also appreciate their use of an app that updates parents daily with photos and notes on what the children ate for breakfast, lunch, and snack times as well as how often they changed a wet or poopy diaper. They share pictures of each child throughout the day, including during breakfast, nap time, and play. Teachers usually upload these during nap time to remain focused on the children. For me, this app provides huge reassurance--I can see in my daughter's expressions that she enjoys her time there, and in many photos, she's fully engaged and stimulated, whether working on art projects or participating in circle time. Safety and Hygiene: The staff does a fantastic job of maintaining a safe, clean environment for the kids. Upon arrival, I notice the teachers label each child's water bottle with their name and date, ensuring that we send a fresh one each day. They clean and sanitize all areas daily, and Fridays seem to include a deeper clean, with blankets and sheets sent home for washing. While I haven't personally observed it, staff have mentioned that children line up to wash their hands before lunch. No outside food is allowed to prevent any allergic reactions from kids accidentally sharing food, and catered, warm meals are provided daily. The teachers also do an excellent job with diaper changes--my daughter has never come home with a diaper rash, and diaper changes are logged in the app as well. The staff is vigilant. They immediately noticed when my daughter was developing pink eye and pulled her aside. Fortunately this was on a Friday and I was able to call her pediatrician for antibiotics ointment for her eye. That took care of the issue over the weekend. I was impressed that they had noticed those early symptoms and pulled her aside to prevent other kids from being infected. Activities and Schedule: They have a well rounded schedule that isn't too rigid and allows them to learn, explore, and move. I appreciate the outdoor time as well and the many creative activities throughout the Outdoor discovery, Indoor Discovery centers. They will paint on branches, paint with chalk, create stamp art, explore concepts such as opposites with art (night versus day, happy vs sad etc), they will have water days in the summer. In the past under different directors and staffing, it seemed that the county was consistently receiving complaints. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for Ms. Erika's support helping us get situated after we moved. She has been incredibly helpful and patient with our family as we ironed out our new rhythm, and helped us figure out the right groups for my 5-year-old son to join. My son repeatedly tells me how much he likes being with Ms. Chelsea, the lead teacher in his group. I truly appreciate her kindness and warmth, and how empathetic she is. I've always felt real connection in every interaction I've had with her; she's a gem. And she posts lovely updates everyday after school to share the activities of the day; this helps me have insight into what my son's day was like, and makes for great conversations with him. I like the variety of activities that the kids get to participate in -- from learning from a beekeeper to beautifying the local rock garden to making herbal tea to nature journaling. Today, my son said during the car ride home that he loves nature school and doesn't want to miss ANY days. He loves the other kids in his group and said he wants to make sure to invite "everyone" to his birthday party this summer.
