Truly a haunting time that I wish I had never been exposed to…read more A promise of growing all dashed in favor of the counselors getting to hook up with each other. That's truly what was valued here. Certainly not the campers and their attempts to better themselves. They're just obstacles in the way to hook ups according to this camp. And the casual cruelty. The yelling and the counselors allowing campers to turn on the weakest of them. You know my counselor actually joined in and cracked a joke about one of the campers touching themselves. You know there are actually nice and supportive places out there? Places where your kid can grow into a happier, more confident and nurturing person? Places where your kid can know support instead of having the facade of it crushed in front of their eyes, leaving them cynical, distrustful and with less hope of finding somewhere supportive? Well if you want your kid to grow even more jaded and feel like all promises of help growing are secretly a cruel lie, then boy do I know where you should send them! I really wish that I had never gone here.

Each program is designed to aid children who need assistance in developing and growing their social skills, and our son has been making leaps and bounds since starting here! Our son has Asperger's syndrome, and Anna has been wonderful in working with him. We did all of our homework, and her credentials all check out (which is something that we always do before working with a service provider.) Both of our boys come for LEGO club, and both of them look forward to it each week, even though we get up fairly early each Saturday to get there. LEGO club proved to be an excellent starting point for the boys, and allowed them to really grow comfortable in the setting before we got the PEERS program set up for our eldest. Now, to the details: the facility is absolutely beautiful. Build inside a dual use location in Carlsbad, the downstairs is set up for the program. Tastefully decorated, it is fun, light, and airy, with plenty of slightly subdued colors that look delightful without being overwhelming. There are plenty of toys, and the collection of LEGO's is constantly expanding. There is a good mix of special needs and typical children, which allows for real interactions that are all supervised and directed by Anna and her staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accepting. We truly could not be happier! Would I recommend her to family and friends? Absolutely, and have already gone out of my way to do so. If you have a child that is struggling with social interactions, if you have a child who needs a boost, if you have a child who just doesn't quite get it, this is the place to go. We have already seen honest-to-goodness measurable improvements (which as an aside is something that is also done through the PEERS program.) In summary, this program is excellent and Anna makes it all seem so easy. And, if I'm honest, I've probably picked up a pointer or two for applying in my own life as well.

He loved interacting with the horses, as well as the riders, and instructors. It was time he looked forward to spending! Volunteering at Ivey also taught him a lot about compassion and what a good work ethic looks like. My son enjoyed working with Miss Tonya so much he decided, on his own, to do his Eagle Scout project at Ivey Ranch. Miss Tonya was very responsive and enjoyable to work with! She took the time to teach my son many valuable life lessons during the process! I could never thank Miss Tonya enough for what she and her staff have taught my son! In response to the review posted below regarding Miss Tonya's rottweiler, my son and I have been around him and he is a love! Further, we witnessed Miss Tonya call him back from chasing a wild animal - he is very well trained! I personally don't believe the review because as the Executive Director of Ivey Ranch for 20+ years, why would Miss Tonya take on the liability of an uncontrollable dog around children and horses - liability that is 100% in her control? It makes no sense. Our experience with Ivey Ranch, Miss Tonya, and her rottweiler has been amazing!

Tonya declined us to attend following 1pm group orientation, so they could charge my credit card for 'missed' appointment. Tonya didn't believe that a friendly email with specified location meeting for an initial assessment and 'tardiness' restriction reminder could have been helpful to create for SDRC clients, who were attending for the first time Ivey Ranch Park (as a part of a proper accommodation).

My 8 year old loves baseball and wants to play so bad, but we can't commit to the 4 day practice/game commitment of Little League, and it's hard to find any other baseball programs around this area for elementary aged kids. My 8 year old was a little old for the 5-7 program, but Coach allowed him to still participate since there were other 7 year olds in it. He had such a great time! It was a very positive environment, Coach gave good tips to improve technique, and his assistant coaches were kind and talented; I think they were high school kids who play on teams. It's always great to see older kids investing time in the younger generation. I highly recommend this program!

This is exceptional since any other extracurricular policies don't allow make up classes. That alone is what makes it easy as a parent to have that level of understanding and trust knowing your money won't be wasted here. My daughter loved this program and we had the opportunity for Saturdays and at the Goddard School. She started at age 2 and kept becoming a stellar star student with Coach Dino (had to leave for military) and Coach Donald Duck. They teach kids about rewards and earning Phoenix Dollars where you earn and save for prizes at the end of class. My daughter absolutely enjoyed this incentive! Overall we would highly recommend trying out this program early on around 2-3 year old. I personally enjoy the non competitive atmosphere but appreciate the structure of practice/drills. It is both fun and disciplined.

His mother comes from work and is almost always there by the time the session starts. KidStrong is perfect for him. He loves it, his parents love it, I love it, and he benefits from it in many ways. I don't actually know how much it costs, but I hope that he can keep it up for a long time. The coaches are very good with kids. The agenda for each 45-minute session is on a big TV/computer in the exercise area, and the coaches are good about following it. A few weeks ago I watched one of the coaches do more chin-ups than I could count--easily 50--while he was waiting for the class to start. He didn't act or talk like a superstar and didn't look muscular (hard to tell under their black "Coach" sweatshirts. My grandson saw most of it, and was thoughtful about it.
