Topically they do a great job, however today, the person (different than before) was someone lacking attention to details. I asked if they had any everything bagels left--she said yes. I requested one toasted with cream cheese and asked if they had freshly brewed coffee. Again, she said yes. What I actually received was a plain bagel and what tasted like steamed iced coffee--served hot and completely awful. Really disappointing experience, especially after being told they had what I asked for. Couldn't drink the coffee and left the bagel = waste of $ or maybe a lessen learned for me - cost of learning not to go there next time. read more

Excuse my English. My grandfather was nothing more than a humble coffee bean farmer, as was his father. He spent his whole life growing the best coffee beans that Colombia has ever tasted. When he passed away, my father took over the business. The coffee was in my blood and I did what I could to help him. I had prepared to make the place when I was of legal age, but my father had other plans for me. He took the money he saved to send me to the University in the United States. I couldn't afford to come back to visit, so I spent my free time working to pay for school and studying hard to get my law degree. When I finally got my first job after graduating. I took my first paycheck to return it to him. He was older than I remembered and he had sold the business by then, but he was still him. And he still smelled like our family, like us, like coffee. The aroma of rise & grind given to my heart reminded me of him. The smell brought me back to my childhood home and to the large number of memories that accompanied me. The coffee had a boisterous flavor reminiscent of the powerful beans we used to prepare. I got a black coffee with sugar on the side and the taste alone was phenomenal. That's where the review would end if I didn't get the "Shack Up". ¡Asombroso!. Oh my God, that was an incredible sandwich. The flavor combinations were complementary to each other and work perfectly together. It was a very necessary addition to the order and I will order it again. As a UNH student I recommend rise and grind as one of the best coffee shops by campus! Every time I go I try a new flavor in my iced coffee and am never disappointed in how good it tastes! I recommend trying the jelly donut flavor shot for something fun and different. Their bagels are pretty good but their unique cream cheeses make them great - I got the brown sugar swirl cream cheese. The gluten free bagel here is so good. This is the only GF bagel I've had that I've actually enjoyed! I got the bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a GF bagel and an iced latte. The bacon on the sandwich was really good as well and not super fatty and their espresso has a good bold flavor. read more

I got my food and drink really fast and it was so cool inside, only thing i wanted to write about and why i took a star off was the sausage in the sausage egg and cheese sandwich. On the menu it says maple sausage but when i got it it was a think patty that reminded me of meatloaf and tasted like it with a maple taste. Everything else about the sandwich was great so i will probably just get an egg and cheese next time, or bacon instead, but i definitely was not a fan of the sausage they use unfortunately, so beware before ordering that if that's not the kind of sausage u tend to like. I LOVE this spot. Their breakfast sandwiches are to die for, my favorite is the "Spamela Anderson", i get it every single time. It's got fresh house ground spam, their special mustard, cheese and my choice of bagel. I usually get their asiago bagel but i love this sandwich so much, it tastes great on any selection. I'm not a coffee person, to be honest, but i was determined to try new things and tried their brownie batter latte, which was recommended by the girl who took my order. It was so good!!! Everytime i come in there, they know my name and it's just such a great welcoming feeling. The music is great, the characters painted on the walls are cool, and I love the staff. We got the "pigs in a bagel" and "dat chick en the club". Both were delicious!!!! The homemade chipotle cream cheese was SO good on the pigs in a bagel and gave an awesome kick to the sandwich. Both sandwiches were piled high with the meat and definitely felt like we got our money's worth (I ended up bringing half of the chicken sandwich home because it was so filling and gave it to my mom who also loved it!). My only regret is that I didn't try the coffee while I was there. I will 100% be back and I am hoping to get a tub of their homemade cream cheese to-go next time! read more

I really try to like this place because of how close it is, but I always regret it after going. Today I found not one but two hairs in my breakfast sandwich, which is absolutely disgusting. Normally I would just move on, but this is actually not the first time this has happened to me. I really love Hop + Grind, so had high hopes for their sister shop Rise + Grind. A bit of a disappointment I'm afraid. Their focus seems to be on a relatively small menu of very fancy espresso based drinks. Their regular coffee is okay, not bad but maybe just not to my particular taste. In particular note that their decaf options are limited. For example they don't have iced decaf coffee available, instead you need to get a watered down decaf espresso, which just doesn't have any decent taste to it. read more

OK I tried this and can't even call it a coffee shop, it's more like a bad theme park ride. The girl behind the counter was definitely nice enough, but it was empty and the music was so loud I couldn't think. The coffee I got, I'm not sure if it was even coffee or Nitro (I asked three times and got different answers) was as empty as the store. I went to the burger place a few year ago that is by the same company, and had kind of the same experience. I ordered a large cup of coffee this AM, dark roast with cream. The register rung up at $4.60. I almost walked out but I took the chance it was going to be the best cup of coffee I've ever had. Needless to say, it wasn't. In fact, it might have been the worst cup of coffee. It was luke warm and watery. I feel robbed. Sadly, I cannot recommend rise+grind. read more
