I'm not at all surprised that this place already has a five-star rating. I was looking for a place to go for breakfast yesterday, and so looked on Yelp for the place that I've been missing. Rise and Shine showed right up, and though I've lived here all my life, I've never eaten here before. We got there about 10 AM on a Thursday, and the lot was full, (oh, oh), which is a very good sign. It's a small place, but seats quite a few people. Still, there was one couple waiting in front of us, so the four of us waited about 10 minutes to get a table. This is not a problem, even though we had a 3-year-old in our party. Several tables, seeing us waiting and seeing as they were pretty much done, hurried up and left, (God bless them), so we could get their table. Only minutes after they left, we were sitting at a clean table and getting our order in. Our waitress was very cooperative with us and accommodated our youngster, and even gave her a little stuffed chicken toy to keep her occupied and to take home with her. The food came out swiftly and wow, what a bunch to eat, with everything very outstandingly good; eggs cooked over-medium and perfect, American fries were nice and crispy, bacon was top-quality and cooked perfect, and the gravy was real Gravey with ground-cooked sausage. I didn't try the coffee and we all went away stuffed. (I like the chicken/rooster theme throughout). read more

Cute place. Good diner breakfast but not destination-worthy. Corned beef hash looked and tasted like it came from a can. Sausage gravy was pasty. Delicious every time I have been, but I always order the same thing. The house omelet is AMAZING! I have tried many times to recreate it at home and it is not the same. My mom had the special and it also looked delicious. The portions are huge and the prices reasonable. It is quaint inside, but you know you are at the correct place if you see a huge chicken in the parking lot. This place is great. I go here at least once a week. I found Rise n Shine when I was looking for a restaurant that makes breakfast burritos. I don't a lot of meat so what's great is they substitute other extras when requested. The place is always packed and the staff is accommodating so I get takeout often. Ordering and the time you get the food is fast too. I'm used to looking at food because so many restaurants "forget" substitutions but every time I go the order is perfect. This is hands down the best restaurant in Niles and the surrounding areas. They are always so busy and on the weekends have a wait but it's well worth it. This place is AMAZING!! We were up from central IL for a weekend of camping. We thought we would do some driving around and found this gem. We had breakfast, but everything on the menu looked fabulous. I had a breakfast burrito that could have fed two people. I did my best to finish it. All of the ingredients tasted super fresh. My boyfriend had eggs, potatoes and sausage. He still talks about those potatoes. We have tried to find similar recipes online, but nothing is going to beat these. The people that work there are super friendly and informative. The only downside is that it's 4 hours from home. read more
