Anna was absolutely amazing! I came in suffering from the rare and mysterious condition of "tinnitus in my elbow," and somehow she handled it like a true professional. She was knowledgeable, patient, and had a great sense of humor while helping me through my occupational therapy. I received Occupational Therapy, specifically Hand Therapy at this location in connection with fractures (two bones) in my right wrist. MY therapist Ana Love is extremely knowledgeable, competent and kind. She has a consistently positive attitude and provides me lots of encouragement. She is always pleasant. Most importantly, she is a provider with what I call "deep pockets" meaning she can provide whatever depth of knowledge required to successfully manage the situation without overwhelming me with detailed anatomical descriptors. My interactions with this facility, in general have been very positive. The Receptionist(s) are always kind and respectful and the entire facility appears clean and very well-maintained AND all of the employees seem positive, kind and truly concerned with helping clients achieve whatever goals are set. It started at the front door with the Eleidy, the office manager. She was sweet, kind and helpful in every way. I had surgery in December on my pinky finger. My PT, Anna, was exceptional! She was caring, kind, and very, very good at her job. She was thorough and creative in coming up with solutions and extremely knowledgeable. She made splints for me to wear during the day and at night. One thing I really appreciated was that she didn't keep me in PT forever. When it was time to graduate, I graduated. She sent me home with exercises and with the splints. I highly recommend seeing Anna and going to this particular company with your needs. read more

Worker's Comp insurance sent me to Rise Physical Therapy in La Mesa for my broken elbow. I had 24 wonderful sessions with Anna Love. I can't say enough great things about Anna! She was always so positive and welcoming and we shared quite a few laughs while also doing important physical therapy exercises. The experience was so positive that I can actually say I looked forward to my sessions. My arm healed up excellently with superb range of motion that I know was much in part due to Anna's excellent care and attention. This place is very unorganized. I scheduled several appointments back in the middle of December. My first appointment on NYE was canceled. They let me know the day before that "the provider was not available," so I figured they had to take time off. I came in for my second appointment two weeks later and the person at the front desk told me, "All of your appointments were canceled because the therapist quit in December." read more

In my two appointments at RISE, I had a great experience with my therapist, Kevin. He was great, and I will miss the opportunity to work with him again. The reason for the negative review is the way the billing office handled my insurance and my appointments. I was referred to RISE by my surgeon at UCSD after a hip replacement. I provided the referral information and my insurance information. My preferred insurance is TriWest through the VA because I am a military veteran. TriWest covered my hip surgery at UCSD, my at-home therapy, and it is covering my out-patient therapy. For some reason, the referral from my surgeon and my actual insurance information was not enough for RISE. They needed a referral from the VA. Despite explaining to them that the VA itself did not perform the surgery, so a referral would not be coming from the VA, they persisted that I needed a referral from the VA. At one point, the billing coordinator suggested that I "stop by the VA to get a referral." The VA employs nearly 500,000 health professionals and support staff, and it provides medical care for roughly 9 million veterans. But sure, I will just "stop by" and get a referral. Perhaps I should stop by the VA headquarters in Washington, D.C. on my way home from work? I contacted my primary care physician at the VA to inquire about a referral. I was correct. They would not do a referral since they did not perform the surgery. My surgeon at UCSD would need to do the referral, which he did. In the meantime, RISE cancelled my appointments without telling me. I took time out of my day to attend physical therapy, only to find nobody there. I would NOT recommend RISE physical therapy, particularly if you are a military veteran. Find a physical therapy provider that values your service to your country and understands how the VA works. read more

I had to get surgery on my left shoulder, and my surgeon referred me to RISE PT for my 25 recommended sessions. During my time I was treated with respect and taken care of throughly. I started on my 6 month recovery journey with them, and am proud to say that every single session was beneficial and has led me back to my healthy self. I came to RISE after a negative experience w Grossmont Orthopedics physical therapy office. My knee replacement surgery was done at Grossmont. I could not walk, was in severe pain, and it looked like I was facing life in a wheelchair post surgery when I arrived at in tears at RISE. I was told by Grossmont PT there were no appts to work w me because I required in home PT first thus having cancelled the original appts there. I was told to "look around", and handed a paper of standard excercises off the internet. No referrals from Grossmont at that time...I was lost, scared, in severe pain, and very discouraged. I was unable to even stand at that point. After multiple calls for help, I finally got a referral to try RISE physical therapy. Best referral ever! The therapists at RISE were fantastic! They didn't give up on me, or blame me for not "trying hard enough". Instead they promised me they would get me to walk again. giving me the hope and instruction I needed to do accomplish that. I can't say enough about how encouraged I felt after each session . Never was I told I had to just try "harder", but instead was given positive reinforcement to keep trying. When one type of exercise was too difficult, they found another one I could do to get stronger. I worked mostly w Kevin, who was the best PT I have ever had in any of my PT experiences from other joint replacement surgeries. The approach at RISE is different. It's more holistic, not just a set of the same exercises they give to any patient. They tailored everything for my needs. I highly recommend this facility. Here they love their jobs. I have been working with Tamara at RISE for over a year with the Cyberdyne program. My Disability was caused from a massive stroke and was unable to walk when I started the program. I now walk with a walking stick and feel very strongly that the robot technology has been my biggest influence of all my therapies . The quality of care given durning my time at RISE has been outstanding not only by my therapist Tamara but all of the office staff especially Amy and Gabby. I started at Rise in March with Tamara. She is so very helpful and knowledgeable. WE have worked on my balance because I have Parkinson's disease. and I also have a cut in my rotator cuff.
