I took my family to Rise Pies yesterday. There was old Food on the table. Ask about getting it wiped off, and the guy pointed at a tub with cleaning chemicals in it & a rag. I rung out the rag & wiped it down myself. Then another guy, after cutting the first pizza, flipped it over onto itself self. Then tried to separate it. The pizza looked nasty & was burnt. With it being so thin, I wish it was a bit crispier. They also have meatballs - three meatballs served in sauce. In my opinion, they're a bit pricey for what you get. My husband ordered a side salad ($7.99 - $2 extra for cheese or protein). Honestly it was a sad salad. They only have a handful of toppings. We went to Tanger Outlets in Pooler on Sunday in search of an ugly sweater for my daughter for Tacky Sweater Day. After circling the entire mall, no sweater but we did discover Rise Pies. We may have been empty handed, but we left with full bellies! This concept reminded me of Pieology, one we used to frequent often in Hawaii when we used to live there and if anyone else has been to one, you know what I am talking about. Parking - Tanger Outlet Parking. I have a bad sense of direction, but all I remember is that this place was in front of the Columbia store. Service - We were greeted immediately and the guys behind the counter were eager to help with questions and offering explanations. Vibe - This is a pretty large location and it seems new. It is nice and well lit. As soon as you walk in, the kitchen and cash is to the far right and seating is about two thirds of the restaurant. The menu board is a bit high for short people like me and I forgot my glasses, but there are printed menus on the corner of the counter. This is an order, pay and sit down kind of place. What we ate - My kids made their own with tomato sauce, half chicken, half sausage and pineapple with cheese. My husband made his own as well and added pepperoni, sausage, green peppers and spicy peppers. I combined 2 of their Signature pizzas, the Veggie Lovers and the Vernon and I was fully aware that the crust may come out soggy due to the amount of ingredients from both pizzas but I was very impressed how well the crust held all those ingredients and didn't come out soggy at all. Is it the strength of the crust or is it the pure skill of the guy making my pizza? Who knows, but it was delicious! The crust came out crispy and all the ingredients were fresh. They claim that these are cooked in 160 seconds. The pizzas are cooked in a wood fire oven. Kid Friendly - Pizza the way they want it. How much more kid friendly can it be?! They also have high chairs for the littles. We are so happy to have found a really great yummy food option at a reasonable price for the whole family to enjoy INSIDE the Tanger Outlets. Came in for lunch yesterday and it wasn't busy. It was just us, and another family. I ordered a build your own on thin crust, they used to have more options in regards to toppings but they only had chicken & bacon other basic toppings. They dropped my first pizza right when it came out the oven and instead of asking me what my order was, they just guessed and remade it. They gave me a thick crust. Gave me cold meatballs that's been sitting in the back instead of making a fresh one because the previous customer mistakenly took my order. Tucked inside an outlet mall with no direct access to the parking lot. Also, I hate being forced to watch TV when I'm eating--especially with the sound up loud like this and even more so when it is vacuous sports commentary (remember sports pundits perform WORSE than flipping a coin when picking winners). My friend got the pepperoni pizza and I got the meatballs with ricotta cheese, red sauce, and hot peppers in oil. Everything was delicious and made fairly quick. Honestly, the pizzas were very small for the price we paid for which we gave it the benefit of the doubt we thought we would be amazed on how good of a quality we were fixing to eat but I was wrong. The pizza could barely even be ate. We ordered two and trashed one bc the ingredients were very poor and the pizza was poorly made. We never got the breadsticks and when I asked for a refund the person assisting me on my refund was a different person. She was very nice. However, she could not manage to do a refund. She called over the same lady that took my order mind you we waited more than 40 minutes and her same exact words were well what's wrong with the breadsticks? This place is right in the Tanger Outlets in Savannah, GA. They serve personal size "artisan" pizzas made in house. I decided to try their "LA Showtime" pizza which was their effort on a gourmet pizza delicacy. It comes with salami, cheese, spinach balsamic vinegar and other ingredients. However, my expectations were not met when my food arrived. The dough was very dry and almost crusty. I also know that this type of pizza is not supposed to be baked at high temperatures. However it could be baked in some of way to enhance the pizza flavor, but that was not fulfilled. It was not good at all. It had potential, but it was not met.
