Wow! My husband loves to find new breweries and take rides. We are in Pocono Lake so it was a bit of a ride. Customer service was immediately great from the start. There was a gentleman directing traffic. He showed us a space up front. The gentleman at the host stand warmly welcomed us and asked if we were first timers. He explained how things worked and who and where the drinks and food were. There was a 40th birthday party with lots of kids and adults. Looked like a great time! There was a huge area around the bar and tiki hut. Great for kids and adults tight on a shallow river. Husbands had a flight and my sister and I had slushies. All was delicious! River Rising has a very nice deck and the overall outside space in terrfic. They had a food truck when we were there, which was good. But we tried two beers and we thought they were pretty bad. We didn't finish our beers. Fortunately, they had a bar, and we ordered cocktails, which were good. If they didn't have drinks we would have left. I wish these brew bars would also sell at least a couple of popular beers, in case people don't like their home brew. Cool place though. read more

Attended the New Year's party. I was excited to attend, it was advertised to have a wing and pizza buffet. Not that I was expecting great pizza but it tasted like doctored up frozen pizza. The wings were decent but not enough to go around. Also the fact that two dogs were aloud to roam free indoors was not something I expected. The dog owners were placing shirts for sale on the dogs then back onto the rack. I'm a dog lover but I almost tripped over it as it was on the dance floor. Bartender told a couple in front us that all drinks were included with drink tickets. The bartender gave us the drinks we ordered then rudely told us the drinks we ordered were not in the drink ticket list. She also needed to look up how to make a gin fizz. Great brewery!! Dog frendly and cozy. We were outside in 48 degrees and very comfortable by the heat. The whole experience was delightful, servers were friendly and recommended good beers. We had a flight of cider and Margherita on the flight as well. read more

I'm sad I didn't read up on this place before going because I would have brought more water-wear for the kids. I had to just let them get wet. This was the kind of place I'd have loved as a kid, so i was excited to be there with mine. Plus there's the bonus of alcoholic slushies, solid food from the food truck and an overall friendly atmosphere. I hope the business does well because I want to come back when my kids are older with no naptime so I can just relax here all afternoon and enjoy the space and amenities. Grab a drink and some food, grab a seat or table to sit on the lawn, walk over to the creek to cool off my feet in the water, and let the kids romp, splash and play. Came here this past week on a "brewery tour" with a few friends and instantly fell in love with this spot! Lots of space to sit or stand and a great outdoor area. It was raining so we stayed inside but we were lucky enough to enjoy some live music. We did not eat, but we were impressed by the drink selections. We were here late Sunday afternoon. We sat outside at the Tiki Bar. There was great live music and 2 food trucks. The ambiance is hard to beat, but the beer selection wasn't great. We got the Tap6 East Texas Blond. It is VERY MALTY. We did not love it. We also got the Space Cream which is on the sweet side and the Fruited Blonde Ale - our favorite. People complain on here about a few things.....cool stories but don't listen to them. Yes...parking can be an issue, which is great for Rising River, because they are busy and popular. Nice little brewery. Beer and drinks were good. Has a very cozy feel to it inside with low wood beam ceilings. They have a distillery in house as well in case you don't want beer. No in house food, other than snacks, but they do have rotating food trucks which are the go to for the LV. read more

This place only gets 2 stars because the atmosphere is amazing. The beer however is amateur at best. The fact that I paid $8/beer with terrible quality is where I would grade it a D-. These things can be fixed if the brewmaster listens to the consumers. I will be back for the location, but not expecting the beer to improve. read more

I often wish that I could take different aspects of all the breweries in the Lehigh Valley and combine them together into one big super-brewery. I'd take the IPAs from McCall's, the stouts and porters from Yergey's, and the weirdly awesome stuff from Lost Tavern. I'd serve food from Two Rivers, but I'd also move Switchback Pizza, just down the street from Funk, just down the street. I'd pull the bartenders from Bonn Place into a space like Bru Daddy's and we'd be set. But what to do with Rising River? I wouldn't take the beer, that's for sure. I had a Space Pants on one occasion and their 3 Levels of Swamp on another. The first was strangely flat and saccharine; the second totally ho-hum. I wouldn't take the food, which seems to be a B-list rotation of food trucks and tailgates that serve sloppy mac n cheese and nachos with neon orange cheese whiz that comes from the pump. I wouldn't take the service, which is basically you, save for a guy directing parking, and the bartenders outside on the patio and sometimes inside but also there's a distillery inside and some beers are served outside that aren't inside and, yeah, you're on your own. Which brings us to the venue itself. I know everyone here is raving about the sprawling outdoor property with the creek and plenty of stuff to do for the kids, but understand that this is basically a backwoods playground where parents sort-of watch their kids. The vibe is basically some twisted game of Frogger where you're forced to trek up and then down a hill carrying beers and those shitty nachos you paid $14 bucks for as Nerf footballs, rope swings, large rocks, near-feral children, and stumbling grown men in backwards baseball caps and Nine Line T-shirts attempt to challenge your forward progress. I guess you could sit up on the deck (or a "tiki" bar, as they're calling it) to avoid all this and enjoy live music, but that's just kind of boring unless you love Dave Matthews Band covers. So like many of the other forgettable Lehigh Valley breweries, I think I'll just let this one be. read more

Really cool venue. Ample amount of outdoor seating near the river. On a sunny day can lounge with a nice drink. Family friendly, saw some kids playing in the river (water was only a few inches high). Rising River Brewing is a great addition to the Lehigh Valley. The layout is perfect to hangout with friends, bring the family, and dogs. The massive deck has many tables with an outdoor bar serving beers, seltzers , and orange crushes (very refreshing). The deck also had great live music that was more background music because it still allowed my friends to talk and enjoy nature. Inside the barn had a distillery, beer bar, more seating, bathrooms, and great homage of pictures with the history of the old Pennsylvanian barn and the former restaurant that sat on the same property,The Willows. A Pennsylvanian Dutch restaurant that served locals for decades and probably longer. Venture off the deck and walk down the river where you can sit by the water, swing on the swings, or let the offsprings run around and play. Some even went into the water to relax and cool off. The back area is grass with a pathway to an outdoor bathroom. Common sense is needed walking around the grass, near the river, and swinging on the the swings. Water shoes if going in water would make sense. Just as I was getting hungry a food truck pulled up. I forget the name of it, but the fish Sauerkraut tacos were delicious. Around 8 pm an ice cream truck pulled up! Perfect timing for all the hungry children and my chance to steal the swings. Parking can be tricky,but the first time I went the brewery had staff members helping to park. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Ronnie (one of the owners) will make his rounds to make sure everyone is having a good time. He is very knowledgeable of East Texas and the Willows history. What a nice place to spend an afternoon. The barn houses 2 bars- one with their beers on tap (plus a guest brewer this weekend) and the other bar offers spirits from the distiller who sublets. They also have a smaller bar on the deck. The whole place is essentially like a picnic grove- they have tons of Adirondack chairs but it's probably worth throwing a few in your trunk just in case you can't snag one. Plenty of sun or shade to be found. It's very family and dog friendly- they have corn hole, swings, a dirt pile with a slide and the creek. There's lots of room to spread out and honestly was nice watching everybody just relaxing and enjoying themselves. They had a food truck on site and it was kept hopping all afternoon long. Beers were good, not great but that's ok because the whole vibe was fun. Met the owner, who seems like a great guy. It's a solid hour ride for us but I'll be back for sure. read more

I can't believe how lucky we are to have this place so close by! We began coming in the Summer because of the beautiful family/dog friendly riverside property. The tiki bar, food trucks, and occasional performances added to the experience. We continue to regularly visit in the Winter because of the frequent indoor live music and positive family vibe from the staff. Their social media page is always updated regarding weather and parking (which typically has an attendant when things get busy). I am a big fan of craft beers, and usually drink their double IPA but was excited to try a new hazy last weekend. It's no surprise that Rising River Brewing won the 2023 Best Destination Brewery and Best Taproom awards! Thanks for all of the fun times. read more

I love the idea of this place. Amazing outdoor space. Good selection of beer and spirits. Incredibly talented live music. Tropical vibe not found elsewhere in the Lehigh valley. Great patrons and even better staff. But that's where it ends. I attended for a 40th bday and I knew parking would be an issue so I ordered an Uber. They were hosting a high school reunion that night and the crowds and lines were insane. They have two toilets inside and porta potties outside. Either option had a half hour wait. Men were relieving themselves wherever they pleased. I spent more time in line for the bathroom than enjoying the music so we decided to leave and go elsewhere. However, cell service is horrible and a ride home couldn't be ordered b/c no signal could be found. We asked the staff if wi-if was available for our ride home and they said no and agreed it's common for people to struggle getting service to order a ride home. An hour later after roaming around trying to get a second bar we finally got a ride. Horrible 40th birthday thanks to rising river. read more

If you want to hang with strangers around a camp fire or go swimming in the creek this is the place to go. More of a family bar, if that makes sense. Beer isn't that good either.
