My girlfriend, 11-year-old son and I came in for dinner on a Sunday after skiing in the Poconos all day. Parking can be tricky but we lucked out with street parking right around the corner. Overall it was just a very average experience. Nothing terrible but nothing that inspires us to come back a second time. My girlfriend and I are big beer nerds and were looking forward to the beer. We tried the Red Ale Eddy (good) and the Winter Dreamz (very good). I might have bought a 4 or 6 pack of this one to bring home with us, but their to go fridge for beers was completely empty. For food, we both got a smashburger, hers with a side salad and mine with house-cut fries. I thought the fries were good but the smashburger was incredibly disappointing. Dry and tasteless. My son got the margherita pizza and said it was ok. The section of tables at the front seemed to be shortstaffed as the tables around us remained unbussed for our entire time there. I was the only customer there during my whole time of drinking. For someone who works in the food service industry, I have a lot of patience for a busy restaurant, the problem with this establishment is that it was not busy, but quite possibly the worst service I have ever received. For a restaurant that is directly across the street from a concert venue as well as an arena, there was only two servers on staff and we sat at our table before being greeted for over 25 minutes. Three out of eight things we ordered they came back and told us they did not have, and said "yeah were really busy": the food was mediocre at best and quite possibly worst service we've received. I would think twice about attending this restaurant if you have a concert to attend, you may not make it. read more

We stopped in before a hockey game and could tell the place was packed. We each ordered a drink and looked over the menu. Decided to share some apps as we weren't super hungry. The pricing is not bad a at all, very on par with other local restaurants. We were not rushed and despite the being one server, the service was good. My only complaint is their happy hour. They run $5 single and $7 double drinks. I ordered a vodka cran, thinking I'd get happy hour pricing and did not. Turned out they gave me a double and didn't give me well liquor. Been here twice, had the chance to try the wings which are AMAZING. They were well cooked, flavorful and a good size that'll leave you satisfied. The sliders are a great little meal in itself, slightly dry but not bad at all paired with a good beer or drink. We recently tried the "Iron Pig" which is pulled pork pizza and the crust was crunchy and pulled pork on top really brought the flavor home. The selection of beers isn't short by any means and the cocktails are carry that same energy. The Staff is friendly, attentive, and have take care of us each time we've gone. The ambiance during the day is relaxed and we definitely had a good time with good music and a small crowd. At night its seems to pick up and it was more packed night when we went. Absolutely a "go to" spot if you're running past Allentown and it even looks like they have a patio which would be a cool spot to hang out when it opens too. read more

We will be back! Loved everything even from the start as we walked in. Our waitress was super helpful and answered all our questions. The brews were on point and we worked our way through all of them. Really great flavors and everything from sour to IPA to stouts kept us all impressed. Before I get to the food, the atmosphere was light and fun and we had the bonus of being there on trivia night. We split some apps and main courses for the table and not a single thing wasn't top notch. The cheese curds, K-pop Egg rolls and Vaterfest Pierogies were all huge hits. We walked-in at 6 pm on a Friday evening to a relatively empty restaurant, and were asked if we had reservations! After confirming that we didn't, we were seated at a table pretty close to the entrance door and were not given a table of our choice on request, stating there were reservations! That was slightly disappointing, but two things that did go perfect for us that evening was our waitress/server who was very friendly, and cheerful; and of course their beers! We were literally there for 45-mins and wanted to try out their local brews and got a chance to try out Haze Daddy ($7 - 16oz) - so far, the best NEIPA I've tried! We also tried their Winter Dreamz ($7 - 16oz) which was good too. I love eating outside but having picnic benches as the main option for a medium size group, we opted for inside. And they have some good specials during the week. Now for the food. The Bavarian pretzel was great and the brew cheese was a great dipping sauce. Unfortunately again, the other two were pretty bad. The cinnamon sugar was so liquidy that rarely any stayed on the pretzel. And unfortunately the pizza was one of the worst I ever had and I've been to some sketchy bowling alleys. I get it, it's coal fried and it will come out burnt but the pizza tasted like coal. Even the pepperoni couldn't save the taste, heck even that tasted like coal as well. It was so distinct that it was inedible. My kid was disappointed that it was so bad. Anyway, I had the Cuban sandwich which was fine. Little dry but not bad. You also have to pay for street parking. Cheap, but inconvenient. The beer I had was really good. I would highly advise in skipping the pizza and you actually might have a great experience. Who knows. read more

I was looking for a place in Allentown to celebrate New Year's Eve for 2026. This place had a decent deal: $50 per person got you a buffet which included pizza and other dishes, two drink tickets, a champagne toast and dessert after midnight with coffee and a live band. The first problem was that the detailed email about the event did not mention that they require ID from everyone. We had to drive back a half an hour to my GFs house to get the ID and drive back. The manager gave us another two drink tickets for trouble when I suggested that it was the least she could do because I could have gotten a refund from Amex. The band was a little too loud and unfortunately was playing all original music. Nothing to write home about. There were probably about eight people who absolutely loved the band, which was Indie alternative rock. My mistake was not doing research about this band before I went to the event. Around midnight they started playing cover band music, Beatles The Cars other songs, and everybody got on the dance floor and had a lot of fun. I never saw anybody dancing all night until that happened. The biggest issue was the food. Even though they have this giant really cool Pizza oven there was no pizza. The manager was surprised that pizza was on the menu. The food offered was chaffing dishes with little pretzel bites little pierogi things, mac and cheese and little fried chicken nuggets and make your own nachos but it was cold and there was no taco shells. Also, you had to eat out of a cardboard bowl with a plastic fork. Very disappointing, hardly a buffet, more like unlimited snacks. We left and went to another bar for a while that was more fun. We came back around midnight to get the dessert which, was nice. They had cheesecake and carrot cake which was an upgrade from the cookie promised in the Facebook ad. But when I asked about coffee they said their machine broke that day. My girlfriend was annoyed at that. I talked to several people there that were also very disappointed and the place emptied out quite a bit after the first few hours. Overall, a disappointment. Quick visit this past Tuesday evening. Reservation for beer garden (outdoor) for party of 3 at 7:15pm. The place was hopping since TOOL was playing right around the corner. The hostess wasn't very friendly, but our server was quite nice after confirming we had a reservation for the table. Everything served in plastic cups. Not preferred, but makes sense for how busy things were. They were out of glassware. The place was a bit messy. Tables not bussed quickly, but a very lengthy tap list so no real complains. I've been to Brü Daddy's a few times and have always had a great experience. Not only do they have a great drink selection but food as well. We started off with drinks. I usually go towards their margarita, but i decided to try the Strawberry Basil Fizz. So happy I did, it's refreshing and perfect for this spring weather. Our friends recommended the K-Pop Egg rolls and we were not disappointed! The sauces complimented the cheesesteak perfectly and the crispy shell of the egg roll brought it all together. Lastly we ordered our entrees. I got the Chop Chop salad and shrimp as my protein. I don't usually order shrimp but happy I did, it was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We've been coming here for years. The quality has been declining. Tonight was the last trip we'll make. The beer was mediocre, the cheese curds were decent but the pizza (Roma) was terrible. It came out 5 minutes after we ordered it. The crust was burnt but the toppings looked under cooked. When we pulled the pieces away from one another it looked like the middle was missing and someone had eaten it and they threw toppings over it. We made a complaint. The waiter was apologetic. He brought us a new pizza 5 minutes later. This one was better looking but had zero flavor. No manager ever came to talk with us and the pizza was never addressed. Couldn't taste much of the black garlic on the fries. These are more soggy than crispy fries and the aioli sauce has a little kick to it but was a great sauce. Overall the food is good and the drafts are well priced. The outside seating and decorations is nice especially on days with good weather. The biggest flaw was the time it took to get our orders and food. When staff was there they were polite, however we were starving and getting orders in was difficult and the time for the food to come out was slow. Not sure if this was a covid staffing issue but felt like 15 minute intervals to flag down someone to order and 20 minutes to get a drink or food to come out was rough. We went to Brü Daddy's before a hockey game one night, we were looking for a new place to try and settled on this place. The food was mostly good but the service was spotty. I really enjoyed the decor of this location, I think it is one of the best looking restaurants in downtown Allentown. I especially like the mix of indoor and outdoor seating. For food, we got the buffalo chicken pizza, the Cape May, Pizza, and the Korean K-pop egg rolls. The Buffalo chicken pizza was very good, but be warned it is the spiciest Buffalo chicken pizza I have ever had. I enjoy spicy food, so it was not too bad for me, But if you're not used to a lot of heat, I would avoid that pizza. the Cape May pizza was fine, but there was a little bit too much garlic on there for our liking. I was told the star of the show was the eggrolls, but after eating the pizza, I may have lost some taste due to the heat from the pizza. My biggest problem here was the service, most of the waitresses and waiters seem to just wander about of no clear sense of purpose. For some reason we got our appetizer after we got our main course. When it came time to pay, it was hard to find our server to pay. However, that could've just been because of being busy for the hockey game so I give them a slight pass for that. Overall a really good restaurant to go to when you're in the downtown Allentown region, we look forward to having the egg rolls again. read more

So we have been here a number of times for dinner and have always loved the food, service, and atmosphere. I was excited to celebrate brunch here for Father's Day.... It was a mistake. The food was decent, but it took 45 minutes (no exaggerating) to get water and coffee. My husband's salad came out before any drinks or silverware, and our meals came out before the water did. Our poor waitress seemed completely overwhelmed and was apologetic and pleasant despite obviously running around like crazy. Management: staff accordingly OR TAKE LESS RESERVATIONS! It's not fair to your staff, your patrons, or your reputation to book solid with two servers on. We will think twice to come back, and that makes me sad because it used to be a fave place of ours. Really nice brewery. Stopped in before an AHL game. Reservations are highly recommended before an event at the PPL Center across the street. Tried two different beers as well as some delicious foods. The first beer was the Gloves Off, a red ale. I thought it was good, maybe a bit too hoppy, but over all a nice clean beer. After that I tried the Black Sheep which was absolutely delicious. It's a easily drinkable, black lager. It went down smoothly and this is the type of beer that would have me coming back. We got a few apps. The ladies wanted the Brussels sprouts, which I could not eat (allergic to truffles). They looked wonderful, cheese and bacon covered. We got the flight of fries, again parm truffle, so a no go there, but also the boardwalk ones which were tasty. They came with dipping sauces, the ladies co-opted the bacon ranch dip, so I had the bbq, it was tasty, with a vinegar finish. I also had a beast burger (wagyu beef, bison, elk and boar) and because I wanted dominion over all of the animals, I got it Benny style with an egg and bacon. It was a bit messy, but tasted great. The bartender was very personable and knowledgeable. The food was typical bar food, Nothing special. My only issue is the manager or owner was very very rude in front of customers. The staff seemed to be treated like children in front of customers, which is so unprofessional. From a customer point of view, the servers and bartenders are more than capable of working at a place like Bru daddy's and don't deserve that kind of treatment. All in all, it was ok. My experience would have been way better if it wasn't for the behavior or the manager/owner. read more
