My first encounter with Rising Star and Ly was after I was driving on the 15 freeway and a cone flew into the front bumper of my low profile Infiniti Q50 and mangled it up real good. I searched around for quotes through yelp since most auto body places were being iffy about in person estimates during covid. Lee got back to me right away and sent me his cell number to txt him photos. He gave me an honest estimate and best of all could fit me on me short timeline of 3 days to do the repair. They did the initial repair and his price was very reasonable. No less than a week later my other vehicle a 2018 Toyota Rav4 had the front bumper and wheel well destroyed and of course I went back to Lee and once again he gave me a great price and fixed my car on another short timeline. I did experience a couple issues related to the Infiniti bumper wanting to remain flush with the car but that was due to me not wanting to do a total bumper replacement involving the tabs. Still Lee did what he could each time I brought it back until I was satisfied with the end result. We have an Infiniti G35 that my wife loved so much but for some unknown reason the paint on the hood, roof, and trunk got messed up by something. It's like the water got into the paint and looks like a really bad water mark in the paint. Tried everything from waxing to buffing but to no avail. I was rear ended and took my 2023 Tesla Model Y to Rising Star Collision for repair. I talked to Ly over the phone but when I went in, Jackie help me out with the quote, it was in line with the one from Geico. I checked every where else and they told me that there is a back order on Tesla part and the wait could be months. After I made the deposit, Ly ordered the part and it came in the next day. It took them about two hours to replace the lower bumper cover. Our old Toyota Matrix started to show deteriorating paint condition with really bad rusting on the rooftop and areas of peeling on the hood. Since the car still has a lot of mileage life ahead, we were not considering getting a new car for the near future; however, since it is a pretty old car and we may be looking at replacing it a few years down the road, spending a whole lot of money on it doesn't seem to justify its value either. His was not the lowest of all that we received back but I felt most confident and comfortable in trusting he and his team's expertise and quality of work/material. Overall we are thrilled of the end result and glad that we decided to take this job to Rising Star Collision. There was a mis-communication during one point which caused some inconvenience but to be fair, and in retrospect, I should've followed up to make sure we were on the same page before assuming the message was received. I can understand how busy Ly gets everyday replying to various customers' inquiries and also documenting and sending several updates to keep all his customers in the know about the work progress. To Ly's credit, he quickly apologized for this minor misstep and remedied the situation. I also truly appreciate the fact that (independent of / even before the minor misunderstanding happened) he threw in some free extras that were beyond our original scope of work, such as including additional areas for paint-refinishing, so we could get a more blended final look, as well as a pair of sparkling new headlamps). This was the first time we had to send a car to a shop for paint restoration work. Initially I was expecting a "very close match" to the original factory paint color/texture. To my pleasant surprise the end result looks indistinguishable from the original factory paint, down to color, shade, and the sparkles/glitter look, and blended in perfectly with the rest of the areas that we didn't request to be worked on this time.
