My girlfriend and I came here for lunch after a private tour of Rome. The waiters are very serious and took our coats to put on the coat rack. It was a late lunch and we didn't want to fill up before our dinner later in the evening. We ordered hot water with our meal, since it was cold outside. The bread was good, but we had to grab our own oil and balsamic vinegar from our neighboring table. The restaurant makes its own extra virgin olive oil, so it was tasty and authentic. The walls are decorated with stone and wood, with a wood table that's movable to help when you're spreading out the menu. It's a wine centered restaurant, with a wide selection of wine, located in a luxurious part of the city center. My girlfriend ordered the carbonara with pancetta and I had the lentil beans with riso. They were both tasty, she didn't finish the carbonara, it's made with eggs and cheese, plus a thick sliced pancetta, so it's very filling. The multi gelato came in three scoops, chocolate, hazelnut and pistachio with a heart shaped waffle cookie and splash of chocolate sauce. I liked the dessert better than the soup, it was okay, but needed a little more spices to my taste. There is outdoor seating available if you want to brave the cold weather. I tripped over the steps to the restroom twice, you need to watch your steps going into their little hallway. I'm a little clutzy, so you'll want to be careful of the inside steps there. Nice little cafe on the street. Everyone we talked to spoke English and Italian and were very helpful picking items. It was pretty chill eating outside, aside from some mopeds that probably needed work (making it smell gassy). The braised beef was so tender, I paired it with roasted potatoes. So good. Came here on the last night in our trip to Rome based on yelp reviews. Seated immediately upon arrival around 7:30pm, it really picked up pace and got busy rest of the evening. Just got appetizers and wine, it was too hot to really eat a full meal. The mozzarella and melon were beyond delicious, literally one of the best things I ate during the Italy trip. The fried artichoke was honestly gross - when something is fried in oil that isn't hot enough, it just absorbs a lot of oil and doesnt cook well - that's what it was. Be advised the basket of bread will cost you 8 euro if you take from it so choose wisely. We got the meat and cheese appetizer so it came in handy and was worth it. What a great find! We had a very wonderful dining experience here. We didn't have a reservation but were seated right away. The live piano was enjoyable. There was bruschetta apart from the regular bread for a 2€ charge per person. The wine was awesome. Service was stellar! They were able to accommodate walk-ins and seat us in nice seats, but the larger tables were kept for guests with reservations. The menu selection was fairly standard Italian, they had a solid wine list and was happy with the dishes and wine they recommended. The carbonara was delicious, really enjoyed the wine (see pic) and recommend the table-side Tiramisu! The staff was friendly and able to answer questions on dishes in English. The clientele seemed to be quite varied, Brits, Europeans and local Italians. It was a good sign of quality that Italians were dining there. This restaurant hits the mark in a number of levels. Putting aside the amazingly convenient locations (500 feet from our hotel), they offer great food with top-notch service at a discount when you book online. (I screwed up the reservation date, but they honored the discount without me even asking. Very professional.) Seriously, what more do you need? We actually made two trips to Vladimiro, but were fortunate enough to be hosted by the very friendly and capable Romanzon both times (he was assisted by a lovely young woman, though I do not know her name). He was an excellent host. My wife and I split a few dishes to get a taste of their options. We had the eggplant parm (tasty with the right amount of cheese) both nights and added the antipasti the first. We went for the carbonara both night because it is fantastic. The crispy bacon was perfect. The first night we added the grilled artichoke and the sea bass with saffron and clams entree (cooked perfectly). For the second we opted for the beef filet in a nice Barolo with roasted potatoes and the spinach with a bit of hot pepper (really good). I must admit the meat was a bit undercooked for my liking (very, very rare), but this is easily addressable. Nevertheless it was very tasty - I never had Barolo before. We ended both meals with "Tiramisu composto a tavola." It is exceptional - smooth, plenty of cocoa, delicious. Sadly we are leaving Rome today, but when we return, we will definitely visit Romanzon at Vladimiro again. read more

As a main course I had the carbonara which was nicely presented as well as tasty and a glass of the house red wine. I didn't have room for dessert, but I was told that their tiramisu that they make for you at the table was excellent. However, being in Rome, I'm sure that most restaurants would claim that their tiramisu was excellent... Overall my score of Vladimiro isn't perfect because of the high price for small-to-normal sized portions; however, the flavor and quality of the food was good, so if money isn't an issue and you're not super hungry, check out Vladimiro - and if the weather is nice, be sure to sit in their shaded outdoor area. read more

We decided to try this restaurant out as it was recommended from a friend of ours that has come here several times. I was absolutely disappointed by this restaurant. The waiter we had was great and the wine was fantastic (Pinot). Despite the wine being great and the server being nice, this is a restaurant after all and should be known for their food. Which in my humble opinion was the worst food I have had in Italy, to include any of the small bars we had stopped at. Far over priced for what we were given. Also you are forced to order for 2 people for certain items on the menu. At the end, I was given a survey to take asking of our experience. After filling it out, one of the waiters came by and read it out loud to me and even got defensive. I found this to be funny and has no reflection on my rating, but wow! Haha.
