Very friendly receptionist. Very nice experience making my appointment. Upon arrival, I was a little sketched out by the location. Not exactly the nicest part of west Hollywood. But my insurance is accepted her and I just need a cleaning. I enjoy the music they play here. Along with the decor I feel like I'm in the 1950's. For me, that's a compliment. I first met with the dr. And she asked if I would like X-rays. It's been a LONG while since I've be en to the dentist. "Does my insurance cover it?" Yes. Light me up! The dental assistant took my X-rays, she was quick and efficient. Found a couple of cavities insurance fully covers that too?? Excellent! Made an appointment three days later. Cavities fixed and Dr. Rita was very sensitive to my sensitivity. She took the time to make sure I was comfortable and had enough Novocain to sit through the procedure. Sure the place is a little rundown without a lot of the bells and whistles. But the service and accommodating nature of this office will keep me as a loyal dentist goer. read more

I love Dr Metrikin. I would pay my copay just to hang out with her and be soothed by her kindness! The location is not great and neither is the parking, but Dr Metrikin and her staff MORE than make up for it. As I mentioned, Dr and her staff are incredibly nice. She does not try to upsell you on unnecessary procedures (which seems to happen SO MUCH in recent years.) She isn't booked out weeks in advance and even has some evening appointments. I went into Dr. Rita to get a routine checkup and teeth cleaning as she lives close to my house and was very pleased! The receptionist was very nice and made it easy to schedule the appointment and worked with my insurance company without a problem. I managed to fall and face plant on the cement during the earthquake and I damaged my nose, my lip and chipped my front tooth. I was devastated because I just started booking shows in Hollywood and it looked terrible. I went to Dr Rita for help. She did x-rays, cleaned my teeth and told me she could fill my chipped tooth. I didn't know what to expect bc it was a sharp angle and the a front tooth is very noticeable. When the nurse gave me the mirror to see how it looked, I was absolutely amazed!! So much so that I burst into tears because they were perfect. I didn't even imagine they could look so great again. Not only did my front teeth look normal again, they actually looked better than before. I couldn't even see where the chip was anymore. I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart the staff and Dr, Metrikin for giving me my smile back. I am a 46 y/o male who recently moved to Venice, California two years ago to do some work in "the industry" as a on-camera host. I have had to wear full upper denture as the result from a car accident twenty years ago. I broke my current one and could not fly to Florida for another where I had the other made. I shopped around out here and after a very frustrating two months time all around I ended up at Dr. Metrikin's by accident. I am sooo glad I did. She eased me and told me I would have my gorgeous "Hollywood" smile back in no time and proceeded to focus on just and nothing else that. Being a happiness coach, my smile is the most important thing in my life. She had the quickest turn-around with no additional try in's than any other dentist I have had before her. They were also half of what other places quoted me. She did not try selling me additional services and would only let ME focus on one thing at a time as I am wanting implants soon. being new to California and seeing a dentist on almost every corner overwhelmed but I am so glad I ended up here. The short: Do NOT go there. Trust me, find a better Dentist. Trust me. Don't. The long: I was in serious pain and they did not care at all. The space is very small and cramped so tight you are almost rubbing elbows with other patients. It doesn't look or smell clean there. English is their second language, very second, and it is hard to communicate with them. I found a better dentist that charges less, and that's without insurance, and they are in Beverly Hills.... You do the math. More about Metrikin: Scam pricing, they hustle the insurance company and clients so they get paid from both. None of their services are covered by insurance, so they say, so you end up paying full price just like you didn't have insurance. So they get paid full price from you, plus they charge the insurance company. In other words, they get paid full price, twice, which is illegal. They inflate prices. They always use the excuse of needing a "specialist" for all work that needs to be done, which makes it worthless to your insurance. This is a case of how business is done in other cultures, scamming people, scamming the government / insurance, etc... And the work they do is below average. I've been coming to Dr. Rita for over eight years now, and I can safely say this is the best dental office I've ever been a regular of in my life. She's seen me through several root canals, repaired crowns that previous dentists didn't do a great job on, and even extracted a couple of wisdom teeth (which was wildly entertaining because she had to climb on top of the chair to get enough torque to yank out my cro-magnon chompers). She's done all of this with a fantastic chairside manner and gentle, precision touch. I feel 100% safe here. I've never been in the hands of a dentist whom I felt was more concerned with getting everything done right the first time. And while I miss her old assistant Clara dearly, her replacement is just as easygoing and personable. The elevator music might playing in the background might feel a bit stereotypical and drive some folks stir crazy, but I think it kind of adds to the charm of this efficient all-girl operation. The prices are quite reasonable, and if you have dental insurance they're a downright bargain. I was also very grateful that Dr. Rita was willing to let me make payments on a couple crowns I needed during a time when finances were uncomfortably tight. But that's really just a minor part of why I keep coming back. What matters most is that I feel very taken care of when I come here. read more

Staff was friendly and so was Dr. Rita when prompted to with questions however I felt like I was just squeezed in for my x-ray and teeth cleaning and that they did the minimal effort to collect what my insurance would pay and rushed me out the door. The equipment all felt old. There was a dusty antenna on the floor near the television on the wall and the nitrous tank was covered with a white trash bag and placed in the corner. All the equipment looked like it had been bought second hand from an office that was getting rid of their equipment from the mid 90's. The rooms were not separated by anything other then barrier walls, I'm sure there is more privacy in some prisons. I was told by Dr. Rita that I needed a deep cleaning which she didn't even offer to schedule for me because my insurance didn't cover deep cleanings even though I would have been more then happy to pay for it then and there. I also had a troublesome cavity under a larger filling and she just said yeah its there and did not suggest any course of action until I asked her what needed to be done. She suggested a crown but again did not ask to schedule a time to do it because my insurance would not cover it. I literally had to ask for Dr. Rita to come in at the end and give me some advice to the next course of actions after she quickly and I say quickly like ten minutes or less cleaned my teeth looked at the x rays and exited. The rest of the teeth cleaning took less then 10 minutes by a dental assistant. Was not impressed. I kept thinking to myself as I laid in the chair looking at the old equipment and room that felt sub par in cleanliness that there was no was I was going to let any procedure take place in my mouth in a place like this. So in a way I avoided an awkward conversation of saying I think I'll go have it done somewhere else by her not offering a solution to any the problems she thought I needed fixing. As I said Dr. Rita was friendly and I'm sure she is an okay Dr but just not the Dr. for me. I expected more from the other reviews but I won't be headed back here again. read more

Before Dr. Rita, I had experienced the normal symptoms of entering into a dentist office - sweat, anxiety, tears, fear, and worst of all, severe tummy aches. The very idea of a dentist is terrifying - a person entering your mouth and drilling holes in your pearly whites. I have hated all dentists throughout my life, until...I met Dr. Rita. Dr. Rita is an amazing woman, not to mention absolutely beautiful. During ANY procedure - whether it be a check up for a quick cleaning or a root canal due to a wisdom tooth gone bad - Dr. Rita is attentive, precise, and caring. She is always gentle in any procedure and will always do anything and everything to make sure that you are comfortable and not in pain. Most of all, Dr. Rita is a MASTER at giving anesthetic shots. Her hands are made of gold when she administers the shots because not only are they effective and spot on, but they are also so perfectly done that you can't even feel them. I personally am a huge wimp when it comes to anything that has needles. Knowing this, Dr. Rita will take the necessary extra time to make sure that my shots are completely painless. I have a really REALLY hard time trusting dentists or any kind of doctors for that matter. There never seems to be an in-between when it comes to them. They're either REALLY REALLY great or REALLY REALLY terrible. Needless to say that I was having trouble with my teeth (they've never been that great), but I was avoiding doing anything about it so that I could avoid the pain of drilling and so on and so forth. However, with my upcoming wedding I decided that it would probably be best to go and have myself looked at. My grandmother was referred to Rita by a friend of hers and COULD NOT stop raving about her. I DO trust my grandmother so I decided to give it a shot. I was in love right away! Rita is so sweet and caring and really knows what she's talking about, not to mention knows what she's doing! Teeth are very important and the last thing I needed was for some random dentist to ruin my teeth before my wedding. This was NOT the case with Rita. I needed to have A LOT of work on on a few of my front teeth (root canal gone bad from my last dentist. OUCH!). Rita was as kind as could be and recommended getting a bridge. I trusted her judgement and we made an appointment to begin right away because it would be a big job. I was (STILL AM) so impressed by her work! Fast, efficient, and most importantly PAINLESS. She really is a master at what she does, and you can definitely see and FEEL the passion that she has for her job, which for doctors, I deem to be a very important quality if not THE MOST important quality. Absolutely amazing. I havent been to the dentist in YEARS. one day, out of no where, I had massive pain in a tooth. Went to a nearby dentist who checked me out, and told me I needed a root canal. After seeing a few more, I went to Dr. Metrikin, Crying my eyes out. I was so so so sad, and extremely frightened by pain and dentists, due to something going wrong during a wisdom teeth surgery when I was 17. Dr. Metrikin was very kind towards me, but real, saying "All the men are the babies! you wont feel a thing!" along with lots of other reassuring procedural information. Each visit I felt more and more confident, and even during the novicaine shot today for my root canal, I was all smiled before, during and after I left the office. the day of, I was an absolute wreck. very sad, in many tears, no pain, just afraid. Her staff took a minute to really get down to my level and use some "motherly" love on me; they got me a cup of cold water, and after i was brought down a little bit, she calmly explained that in order for the success of the procedure, I should try my best to breathe deeply and relax. These people are pretty used to people like me! It was apparently 1-2 hours apiece, but it felt like 20 minutes each way, no sedation, no problem. Before you know it, Dr. Metrikin will say "we are all done!" The office is cozy, and you will really gain a personal relationship with the staff, and they work together so well! My whole family (wife, daughter and myself) have been Dr. Rita clients for 10 years, and counting to infinity. From teeth cleaning, crowns, root canals - she is the best of the best. Extremely tender hands, up-to-date technology, and a big smile of a professional, confident in herself. Plus big blue eyes on beautiful face. Once my daugther has had a weird swelling on her gum; I called her office. Dr. Rita was leaving the next day to Paris for vacation, dropping by only for half an hour. But she agreed to wait for us, figured out what it was, gave valuable advices how to treat us, didnt't charge us a dime! Should I say it worked as a charm? Today my wife didn't feel well, waiting for her turn in the office. Dr. Rita asked her a couple of questions, and figured out a problem - sugar level drop, cause my wife skipped breakfast. Don't be fooled by the good reviews here like I was! Do not come to these frauds, they scammed my dental insurance for a cleaning they never started nor completed! I have filed a formal complaint with the California Attourney General's Office, as well as the City Attourney of LA, Mike Furher. I am very upset, as I went to another dentist, got a 3rd opinion, who told me that Rita Metrinkin lied about me not having any cavities, my previous dentist was right, I had 4 cavities, now had to have a new dentist do an emergency filling in one of the cavities!!!! My gums are now bleeding and receeding more, its been over a year now, all they did was put cotton swabs in my mouth, took xrays, lied to me saying I had no cavities when I have 4, and never doing the deep cleaning they were approved for. This behavior is wrong, it is in a shady location with homeless mentally ill people all over the parking area, not safe for females by themselves, or anyone else! This kind of sham may fly in some third world country, but this is America, we have laws!!! I am filing a fraud complaint with my insurance company, letting them know they were ripped off and I never got my deep cleaning or fillings because they lied about the cavities! Shame on you!!!
