I called Ritas to order caldo de res as I was very sick that day and my husband suggested I get some hot soup. Well when he came home with it it had only meat 1 green bean, and a small piece of cabbage only a container of broth. If Ritas ran out of vegetables they could have let us know just don't give your customer what is left in the pot. I will not be coming back and I did like this restaurant. Decided to give this place a try, my friends at work always tell me how good it is. I've only ever eaten my grandmas Menudo, but my friends rave about their Menudo so I decided to try it, and I am so glad I did because IT WAS AMAZING. My boyfriend got the Rita's enchiladas with fajita beef, it was hot and the cheese was melted on top so I snuck a bite. When I return I'll definitely be getting those! read more

Service was great, but the coffee and water tasted terrible. The breakfast was just ok. Nothing terrible but nothing great either.

To me, service always trumps food. With that said, I only ordered a cheese quesadilla, I mean how could you mess up on that? However, service was extremely SLOW! I pretty much had to ask for everything twice. I had to order our appetizer twice, we had to ask for refills multiple times, had to ask for to go boxes, our check, pretty much everything more than once. Finally, when we saw another waiter, or maybe he was just a bus boy, not sure, we kept having to flag another person down to wait on us because we couldn't find our waiter. Maybe they were short staffed, maybe he was new, but I will definitely not be back. We had Rita's for lunch this afternoon and placed our order to go. We specifically asked for 2 menudo without the feet, which is a common order that we place and have never had a problem with it. We get home and are ready to eat and find huge amounts of pig feet. Totally disappointed in how it was handled we called to let them know that the order was wrong and only received a half ass apology and no "how can we make it better for you". Last night, my family and I came to Rita's for a birthday celebration, all was fine until I request a to go container for the remainder of my meal. I ordered the fajitas for 1 because that's my go to in Mexican restaurants I also orders a side of shredded cheese and sour cream. As I was emptying my dish into my container, I noticed a susceptible black object in the bottom of the shredded cheese. I took my fork to see if I could pick it out when it started MOVING. There was a baby roach in the bottom of my cheese. I called the manager right away he took the cup observed it for a long time and says he will be back and never returns. The waitress brings my tab and tells me that the manager approved one meal to be taken off the bill. It was my meal but the cheaper me. That's an INSULT to a customer who has just found a live bug in their food. FYI I will be reporting this incident everywhere I can. Please save your money and go elsewhere unless you don't mind having bugs in your food with a side order of being ripped off. I DO NOT recommend this place. Oh and as we are walking to our vehicle, the size of the roaches having the dance party outside in their parking lot was quite the scenery. If the roaches were outside and in my food, I'm certain they are other places in that establishment. Clean that place up! read more

So our party of 7 adults and two toddlers (1 high chair, and a booster) arrived and were promptly seated. We were comfortably seated and we had enough space to where we weren't crowded or seated too close to each other. They had good Latin music playing in background as well as tv's. Our drink order and appetizers order was taken and chips and salsa were brought out! Drinks were promptly brought out with appetizers. We ordered or food while we waited for it to come out our drinks were refilled as well as the chips! All of our food came out at the same time, everything was delicious and on point. The service was exceptional. They had $3.00 margaritas that were really good, I had the pineapple one and strawberry! There was plenty of parking in the parking lot and it easy to get in and out! I was really impressed with the service and quality of the meal just the entire overall experience was delightful! She gets a lot of our order's wrong and then she will roll her eyes at you like YOU did something wrong and go talk to the other employees behind your back . She will never wait on us again. So we decided to try this place out after reading the reviews. First off they have an A Rating with a score of 92 if I recall correctly. With that said First time at this place it looked clean and the people were friendly. I ordered Rita's Plate or something like that it was a combo plate taco with ground beef. Absolutely flavorless in my opinion, a Toastada also with ground beef and again flavorless, a queso bowl that was ok reminded me of Velveeta, refried beans were good the spanish rice I passed on, the enchilada and the tamale if you could call it that was just ok as well. Nothing special and definitely not to my expectations. In fact I think I prefer that hormel canned tamale's. In short the food was just ok and nothing to write home about. Was my first time here and will be the only time here. The price was very reasonable $26 for 2 people. read more

We just moved to the area about a month ago, and we had tried a few Mexican restaurants in the area. We weren't looking for authentic Mexican food, no, we wanted good old Tex-Mex Cooking. You know, a little bit tangy, a little bit spicy, and a whole lot of cheesy. This is the place! Great cheese enchiladas. Love this place! Excellent food and customer service. I've been coming here for years. I believe the same ownership are from the Bravos that was in Missouri City, because the food quality is the same that I remember. I recognize some of the employees as well. I'm glad I found them again. I usually get the ground beef enchilada plate or the 3 combo enchilada plate. I can't speak for the other items on the menu but I'm sure they are just as good. I wanted to like this place. I mean who doesn't want to enjoy what they spend their hard earned money on. But I can honestly say, this was the worst dining experience I've had in a very long time. I walk in and the place is crowded. Good sign, right? I wait 5 or 6 minutes for a small table to be cleared. I wait for chips, salsa and sweet tea for another 5 minutes. My husband would have walked out by now if he was with me. I kept holding out because of the food reviews. I ordered the Compean, basically shrimp brochette and chicken or beef fajitas with mushrooms and onions. I can't really complain about the wait time for the food. But I will say this, this was hardly edible. I am not a picky person. The onions were tasteless. The bacon surrounding the shrimp was fried to a solid, crispy, hard, crunchy mess. And something tasted freezer burnt, but I couldn't figure out if it was the bacon or the shrimp. The beef fajita and the sweet tea were ok. $20 down the drain....if the food was good, I could deal with the service. I won't be back. read more

For those who enjoy truly mediocre food, this is the place. The lemonade was fresh and decent. The red salsa was pretty good. We asked if they had green, they said yes, but it never made it to the table. The queso arrived lukewarm and bland, sent back to the kitchen. The gorditas with fajita were totally bland, but not bad. Just not good. The Enchiladas Mexicanas were sent back to the kitchen. I had seen the sopapillas, and they looked amazing- huge, pillowy, got them. Sent back to the kitchen. Looks was all they had. Absolutely no flavor nor a decent texture. It was like biting into a cotton ball. There were a few people who looked like regulars, waiter went to one table twice without bringing any small plates or napkins, and the patron was sitting with salsa on his fingers, trying to figure out what to do with it. (They looked like regulars because the waiter delivered several things to their table without asking what they wanted). We waited several LONG minutes to get our credit card back- so long that my husband went in search of it. I hate going out and spending money on food I wouldn't serve at home. We have visited Rita's frequently for the last several years. We have tried many of the appatizers and main entrees and every thing tastes great. This place is AMAZING! It's not too expensive, the staff is super friendly and the food is wonderful! The chips are not stale, they are hands down the best! The place is super clean, and there is a huge parking lot! Although with having the parking lot so big, there are a few booths and some tables. The booths are very comfortable (as we only sit in a booth when we go). This is my husband & my absolute FAVORITE Mexican restaurant to go to! I am surprised this place has high reviews. Perhaps it is for the service because that was the only thing we were satisfied with on our visit. The atmosphere was fine but the food was just terrible. It had absolutely NO flavor and was just plain blah. I would say you get what you pay for (as it's pretty cheap) but Taco Cabana could run circles around this place easily. Nearby on a job assignment, looking for Caldo de Pollo. Restaurant was very clean. Friendly staff. Caldo is a large portion, couldn't finish it all. Broth very flavorful, potatoes and carrots perfectly cooked (I requested only these veggies as I don't care for others in my Caldo; normally served with addition of cabbage and zucchini or squash sometimes corn or green beans). The pollo itself was a huge chicken breast; I felt it was a bit over cooked, making it a bit dry and stringy. I didn't complain. Comes with two tortillas; I opted for corn and they appeared to be handmade- not the typical package variety. Salsa is served warm and is quite flavorful, just not spicy enough for me. I asked the waiter if he had a spicier salsa and he brought me a tomatillo jalapeño garlic salsa which was super tasty and not too spicy but a good amount of kick. I am only in this area a few times a year, but would definitely come back and try something else from the menu. Almost forgot to mention the complimentary small bowl of soup- which is a noodle and veggie soup with a very flavorful broth. read more

I came in around 8:30am and there was only one other family here... It was in the middle of the week so I tried not to factor that into my first impression. I ordered the Huevos a la Mexicana and was initially pretty excited when my food arrived and I saw the fresh made corn tortillas and the fresh warm salsa was delicious... But the reheated store bought potatoes and under seasoned eggs easily overshadowed them. Nothing was the least bit spicy, with the possible exception of the salsa. Service was "tentative". I thought the young waitress could have used more training, but she wasn't that bad. Best place to go on a Sunday night. It tastes great and its great service. They actually remember you and greet you kinda like family when you go in there. The food is excellent and its cooked perfectly. The proportions are great to, they give you your dollars worth. Fast service but sometimes it can be slow as they only usually have one guy working in the kitchen. Even thought it can be really busy it does not get to loud that you wont enjoy the meal.
