Female Pharmacy Tech with dark hair is the MAIN reason for the one star rating. Rude, talks over you. Abrupt, unfriendly & inconsiderate. Talks down to you as if she can't be bothered. I have had problems on the phone with her as well. She is usually is in the back of the pharmacy filling scripts. And that where she should stay. Today at the window. I got such bad treatment form her I walked out. And this is at 10am, NO ONE else in line, so it's not because of 'long day blues' She shouldn't be dealing with the public. This is without doubt the worst pharmacy and buisiness I have had the unfortunate experience of ever dealing with After consuming all previous patrins of the Drug Store- which many were simply because of the poor service and complete failure of Rite Aid. I finally contacted The Corporate office and spoke with someone after attempting to call this place over 25 times, each day for several days. Regardless of what excuse is given, it is not enough. The complete lack of decency and professionalism and service is worse than I have ever seen in any buisness. Do not entrust your children to the vaxinations they are pushing either. I find it disgusting that anyone is pushing vaccines that have killed more than ever. Do your own research, the answers are out there. Their service is so bad and also customer service . Most shelf's are empty & prices are too high. I was just released out of the hospital on Tuesday and on my release papers. There were seven different medication's that they had called in and I needed to go pick them up that day so when I got to Rite Aid, they were not ready yet. they told me to come back tomorrow so when I went back, they still weren't ready. My doctor called them expressed how important it was that I continue this medication. They said they would have it in an hour and as a Saturday they still have not filled my prescriptions so I had to go to another pharmacy within one hour. Most have an I don't care attitude, and the prescriptions are never ready, no matter how many days it sits in the presence of the pharmacists. Phoned in, electronically sent, faxed, it doesn't matter. They don't fill them, and a lot of times say "we haven't received it, you need to call your Dr", when in fact, they have a stack of scripts sitting there where they're working, being completely ignored. Whatever system they have in place DOES NOT WORK! Time and time again it's the same story. The only reason this place gets away with all of this is because of location and lack of any other pharmacy close by. Unacceptable! It's been nothing but frustration almost every single time. Horrific Pharmacy! Without our consent, "The Drug Store" in Kernville, Calif., sold our prescriptions to Rite Aid, Lake Isabella, Calif. NOW, the pharmacist at this store is refusing to fill many prescriptions for MANY folks up here. The doctors are furious, as almost every prescription they send to Rite Aid, is refused or questioned. They NEVER and I mean NEVER, answer their phones....go ahead and try (press #3) and see if you get lucky 760 379-5621. I was told the "secret" to getting someone to answer is don't press #3....NO, instead press #5, and a front desk person will answer and you ask to be transferred to the pharmacy. This "trick" may cut your waiting time by 30 minutes! After waiting on hold for 45 minutes, the pharmacist picks up the call (which I did not expect) and proceeds to tell me that the medication I've been taking for 15 YEARS, has been "red flagged" and he will not fill. When I tried to explain to him that I am a Polio Survivor, and this medication helps my nerve pains, and shooters that are now caused by Post Polio Syndrome, at condition many polio survivors are experiencing. Basically, we are reliving having Polio, in our 60s and 70s. Not fun. As I was attempting to explain to him that if I suddenly stop taking this medication, I can very possibly suffer a seizure and/or stroke............................ ............HE HUNG UP ON ME! Rite aid in lake Isabella is holding prescriptions for ransom it's been 3 days now since my doctor sent them my refill finally all these hoops you have to go through and then you got this place that's a brick wall they haven't answered the phone in 3 days! I was in line the phone isn't even ringing back there then after waiting in the line for the second time they send me to the pick up line to be told 2 more hours on the one that I need to breathe that I have been waiting for for two days and that the other one is waiting for approval that shows is covered by my insurance that I've been taking for years but she says to keep calling my doctor that I had already called twice and seen to get my refill. Contacted Rite Aid for the Pfizer vaxx. I did the process online, necessary paperwork, schedules my vaccine. Upon arrival to the pharmacy area, I was told they dont see my appt. Then i see another worker whisper in her ear and then walk away. Then that lady said "We will have to reschedule you because the Pfizer vaccine has nor arrived. yet. Then she proceeded to offer Moderna. I refused. She then said you can come anytime for the pfizer vaccine tomrw. I agreed. So tomorrow is here. The Pharmacy is the worst! If your doctor sends over or calls in a prescription, it doesn't matter, it will NEVER be ready when you go in to pick it up. You have to go in, not call, and tell them you want to pick it up so they can tell you it'll be hours or sometimes days before it'll be ready. Don't bother standing in the pick-up line because they will make you go to the drop-off line even though your doctor has already sent in the prescription. They rarely answer the phone so calling is a waste of your time. You will usually get ignored at the 'drop-off' counter until they are ready/willing to address you- no greeting, no "be with you in a minute", not even a nod, it's like you're not even there until they decide to address you. If this were a stand-alone pharmacy, it would get 1 star but because the store connected to it has reasonable staff and they carry some necessities (albeit overpriced and many times they are out of stock of many items) I've given it 2 stars. read more

Their prices are always high and their drug prices are a lot higher. I needed a glucagon kit, the generics go for $50 to $150, my Dr. ordered generic, Rite Aid being the only pharmacy in town, charged me $390 for a non-generic kit with 8 months left before discard when it was supposed to be good for 12 months, and told me that if I refused it, they would not order another. These are used in emergencies only and may have to be stored away for a good while. I need every non-expiry month I can get for my $390. The profanity that comes to mind would set fire to this posting, I'm so utterly pissed off at these Corporate Greed SOBs. This is a poor town, we can't pay these prices, but no breaks. read more

The pharmacy at Lake Isabella Rite aid is worse than deplorable. They are incompetent, inefficient, and rude. I only gave it one star because the website won't post this if I give it none. A couple weeks ago, we called in a prescription in the morning and were told it would be ready at noon. I went in to pick it up at 7:30 that evening and was told it would be at least an hour.The brown haired woman with glasses didn't even pretend to be polite. I left, and 10 mminutes later they called and said it was ready. Today we again called in a refill and were told it would be ready at 4:30 PM. Again, I went in at 7:30 and the same rude woman told me it woud be at least an hour. When I returned, I was told it would be another 25 minutes. I spoke to the pharmacist, Darin, and got angry with him. He told me he'd get to it when he could. I stood in front of his window waiting for 20 minutes until he told me it was not due for refill for two more days. Why couldn't they have told us that when we called in the morning???? Darin and the above mentioned woman are arrogant and couldn't care less about customer service. A man named Kenneth and a blonde woman with glasses have never been rude to me. But the overall inefficency, and rudeness of at least two employees, are beyond unacceptable. read more

Me and my friends went in for ice cream. We walk up to the counter and waited a few minutes for the 2 associates behind the counter to stop talking to each other and help us. They came off as rude right off the bat by the way they talked to us. They said we needed to pay for the ice cream first, so I asked do you have all the flavors available? They said yes (without checking what flavor we wanted). So I paid for our scoops then one associate washed her hands and put on a hair net, but no gloves. The other associate (Wanda) also walked over to help look for our flavor, she didnt wash her hands or put anything on. They touched all of the ice cream containers no gloves, one without even having washed her hands. Turned out they didnt have our flavor after all, so then they had to refund us when it all could have been avoided by checking for it before I paid for it like I was trying to do. read more

My dentist gave me a prescription. I took it to rite aid to fill it. They claim they were out of stock. They wouldn't even call the dentist to ask for another prescription. So I had to walk back to my dentist get another prescription and walk back to rite aid. The medicine they gave me has very little effect I've had to triple the dose just to get out of pain. read more

If I could give the rite aid pharmacy a negitive number I would, they are the worst. I am a diabetic who is out of insulin I had my prescriptions transferred to rite aid for no aid. I have been waiting a week and a half and have run out of insulin. I have told the pharmacy staff about my outage and they could not care less. This is a little late, but had to give the review because I still have this employee in my head when when I go places and experience "not so great service." The pharmacy was really friendly and helpful in helping us fill a prescription that was forgotten at home while on our camping trip. The best part however came when getting ice cream on or way out. Samantha went above and beyond, providing excellent customer service. She was very friendly and cheerful, but 2 things impressed me most. 1. I requested two different ice cream flavors, but when she went to scoop them, they had become frozen beyond what would have made them the quality a customer expected. She apologized and explained the situation instead of just giving me inferior product. She made other suggestions and was apologetic for the inconvenience, but seemed to genuinely care that she provide great service and that we would be happy with the product. 2. It seems they were having a not so great day, and the manager called her to the office over the intercom (which I find a little rude). Instead of making us wait, she promptly asked another employee to call the manager and let her know she would be there as soon as she completed our order. It appears the other employee did not call and she was interrupted by another manager scolding her for not calling. Rather than her saying what she had done (as I would have) she politely said she would make sure to do it in the future. When I asked why she took that route, as I overheard that she had asked that of the employee, she stated "we are all a team and try to help each other out, he might have forgotten as he was also finishing up with a customer, so I didn't want to pull him into anything unnecessary either." I think both Managers and the other employee can learn a little from Samantha. Will come back here each camping trip, thanks to the great service and character that Samantha demonstrated. read more

They have lost prescriptions and give no explanation or apology what so ever. Most of the time they don't have commonly prescribed medications in stock. I think the only reason they still are conducting business is they are the only chain pharmacy in town. This pharmacy sucks. Twice I've had to have a prescription transferred from our CVS store and both times the people who have 'helped' me act like they don't give a shit. Right now my dog is having deadly seizures and I spoke to the vet who upped his dose and these clowns at CVS don't seem to care how serious this is. The dog has had 7 seizures in 24 hours but we only have enough meds at his OLD dose for tonight. I went in today and said I needed the refill and they were like ' do you have the bottle ' and I said 'no' but I have all the information because I just called the vet. Person helping me didn't even look at me. I am a client service rep lead for a major hospital and this pissed me off. I gave her all needed info and said I could pick up tomorrow but after talking to the vet I need to up the dose and I need the prescription now. They said the pharmacist was busy and took my number. I called the pharmacy to see if they had my prescription in stock so I could fill it, and the pharmacy tech told me they can't give that information out over the phone. LOL okay, well what should I do? She tells me I have to bring the actual written prescription into the store before they will check to see if it's in stock. Ok. I bring it to the store and the pharmacist tells me at 845pm that he can not check to see if the prescription is in stock. LOL again, what? He says I will have to leave it there. I'm unsure what he didn't understand about me WANTING TO CHECK IF THEY EVEN HAVE THAT BECAUSE I NEED IT FILLED ELSEWHERE IF NOT. But he argues with me instead and keeps repeating himself about leaving the prescription overnight. No dude, I need the prescription filled, why would I leave it with you if you don't even know if you have it in stock?? He tells me he needs to "look up my medication history" before he checks to see if they have it. THEN WHY DON'T YOU TAKE THE PRESCIPTION OUT OF MY HAND AND CHECK ON WHATEVER YOU NEED TO CHECK SO I CAN HAVE AN ANSWER IT'S 845PM YOU HAVE 15 MINUTES BUDDY. But no, he was just rude and told me to come back tomorrow. Avoid this pharmacy!! The staff is extremely rude and unwilling to help during business hours! This is THE WORST pharmacy. My mother is on medication to keep her alive after her heart attack that she needs twice a day every day. She's been out of said medication for over 24 hours now waiting for this pharmacy to count pills and put them into a bottle. Her doctor even called them yesterday and STILL it's not ready when they said it will be. We live 35 minutes away and drove here because we were told over the phone this morning the medication will be ready after 1. I'm standing here now refusing to leave without the medication. 30 PILLS. The store is clean and organized and offers what most other rite aids do and even have an I've cream counter selling the delicious Thrifty Ice cream. I forgot to write this a while back, but a few weeks ago I was looking for some specific first aid antiseptic and couldn't find it, one of the pharmacy technicians, Chelsea, who was very polite, pleasant and professional was happy to help me find it and ring up my other purchases and prescriptions. There is also a young man who normally is working the front register who is always friendly and efficient even when it is busy. These two deserve some recognition for their outstanding customer service and positive attitudes that keep me coming back. read more

Today I sent this letter to the Rite Aid corporate office via their web site: I recently injured my arm and broke some ceramics exiting your store in Lake Isabella California. It seems that Rite Aid believes we will steal their shopping carts if we are allowed to take them out to our cars. Poles have been attached to the carts which crash into the upper door frames preventing the cart from leaving the store (this injured me in the process). In California we are not given bags for our purchases. Here we must use our own bags OR load our purchases from the cart into the totes in our cars. Since I bought a cart full of ceramic flower pots my purchases would not fit in bags anyway. The clerk watched me putting the ceramics all back into the cart after each was rung up but failed to warn me that the cart was unable to fit through the door. Your store manager today told me I should have used some other carts which don't have poles attached but I had not seen any of them when I came in. (Are these carts magically theft proof)? Please have the poles removed from the shopping carts in California. I'm so angry right now that I'm having my prescriptions all moved to another pharmacy. I hope I don't have to take my injury case to court or start a class action case on behalf of Californians. We are trying to make this a better world by limiting plastic bags in our landfills and you need to get on board. Californians NEED to take their shopping carts to their cars! read more

12/5/2014. Took my spouse in for a prescription fill; clerk said they were out and wouldn't have any in for two weeks. As my spouse had only a couple of days left before running out I asked if it was possible to have another Rite-Aid send some up. Answer: NO! No offer to check w/ other Rite-Aids, in Bakersfield to fill the prescription. Seemed like I was taking up her time and she had better things to do. I know this is not the typical Response expected from any Rite-Aid so called one in Bakersfield; they did not have the prescription on hand but he said he would check w/ other stores. I was directed to another store (on Calloway) and the pharmacist checked the stock and would be able to fill the prescription. We will make the drive into Bakersfield tomorrow to keep from running out. I seriously doubt this was the best the counter person could do! Usually, the folks in the Lake Isabella store are friendly and helpful but I suspect I am not alone in receiving less than expected treatment. This is the worst place ever to take a prescription. They must not care if you come back because when you take your first Rx there they treat you like you are bothering them. The woman who took the Rx Sara was so rude. First she asked me when the last time was that I had that prescription filled. I told her it was a new prescription I had just gotten from the doctor. She snapped at me "no when is the last time you got this medication ". I started to tell her and she brushed me off and said she'd just check when she ran my insurance. Like I wasn't telling her the truth and was a criminal. It was very insulting. Next she informed me that she didn't even know if they had the medication. I wait while she checks. She comes back and says they have it but it won't be ready until that night. It was not quite 2:00 in the afternoon. I told her I needed it before then and I thought they filled in twenty minutes. She sharply told me they took that sign down and didn't do that anymore. I told her I couldn't wait till that night I wouldn't be there. She said I could come back in two hours. Then she let me know how inconvenient it was going to be to get my Rx in two hours because there were people ahead of me and she was leaving so there would only be one clerk there. I had to really keep myself in check not to be as rude back to her. When I went back at four it was ready and even though I had to wait in line for ten minutes at least the lady at the counter wasn't rude. And what was very interesting was that Sara the rude clerk who said she was going home was still there. I learned my lesson. I'm sticking to CVS where the treat you politely and appreciate your business. Nobody deserves to be treated with disrespect because a store clerk wants to be rude. I just wonder how much business this woman's personality looses for Rite aid. I won't go back. Doing business with pleasant people is much more enjoyable! read more
