Much better than Walgreens or CVS! They actually have a phone system that you can reach a pharmacy staff without waiting for 30 mins and pushing a 100 buttons! Very nice and professional friendly staff. I have been here a few times and I am done with CVS and Walgreens. This RiteAid has everything. Much larger selection of goods than CVS and Walgreens. Do yourself a favor and transfer your prescriptions out of this pharmacy. Both Redwood City locations are horrible for pharmacists and I'm a registered nurse. I have never had a pharmacy make it so hard to pick up insulin and the syringes that I need for my diabetic cat. This is the closest Rite Aid to my house. The prescription is normally sent to the San Mateo location for this reason, however this morning I ran out of syringes and needed more for my cats insulin injection. Anytime I try to go to this location or the woodside road location they make it almost impossible to buy addition syringes for my cats diabetic administration, when a prescription is not needed for syringes. They will sell syringes to people with drug addictions but they will not give me more syringes for my cat?! I of course know more than the average person regarding prescriptions due to my career in the health field and I have never met such incompetent pharmacists as I have at both Redwood City Rite Aid locations. read more

I went in for my friends vaccine. The vaccine process was smooth. They have signs everywhere which was helpful as the pharmacy is located at the back. But they were calling everyone by proper allotted times and the wait time was hardly 5 min. After the vaccine they ask us to wait for 15 min in store. While doing that I was browsing the store and thought of picking up few things in my list. Pros :- - they have everything. From household items to alcohol to beauty items. I could see all sections. - they have a small waiting area where they have put some seats for people to wait post getting shot. Cons :- - so many items in the store were missing. I could see so many empty shelves. Wanted to buy frozen pizza for the house but the one I wanted was also sold it. The shelf was empty. - the prices of beauty items were high. But most of the items in beauty section were on buy 1 get 2nd at 50% off. So it was good if you have 2 items in the list to buy. I just wanted to buy an eyeliner and the price was more then what it usually is. Overall a decent experience. 4 stars as the vaccine process was pretty smooth. Wish to see less empty shelves though. read more

This Rite Aid is close to my house so I go there occasionally, especially for random beauty products. This store looks updated and has new signage inside which is great! I find that their regular prices for a lot of the items are often on the higher side but when they do sales they can be pretty decent. For example they had buy one get one 75% off for Revlon makeup which is quite nice. I bought eyeliner and mascara and the total came out to like $12 total which is great! Normally they are like $10 each. I did notice that Rite Aid seems to do a lot of Buy 1 Get One 50% off which is not super ideal if you just wanted one of the things though. The inventory here does seem kind of sparse in general. I browse around sometimes and the shelves just feel empty for some reason. Store associates are nice. read more

Pros: A ton of parking because it's shared with everything in Woodside plaza Huge store with snacks, makeup, all the things (in theory) Cons: terribly stocked. I've been here a bunch of times and despite how big this place is, a lot of items are poorly stocked (ie hair items) or just not reliably in stock. Personally I've had better luck at target or cvs at sequoia station. Notes: pharmacy is tucked waaaaaaaay in the back left corner. If you need to get a covid vaccination or booster shot you can expect a minimum 30 minute wait past your appointment time. Do not allow this corporation to use covid as an excuse as they were always running behind and there was a 20-minute line just to get prescriptions picked up prior to the pandemic. Rite aid Woodside plaza is quite possibly the worst manage pharmacy in Northern California. Prescriptions come faster through mail order! read more

Iwould not even rate them 1 star. The pharmacist is very rude, no patient care at all. The Technician is just as rude and yells instead of just speaking to you. They claim your medication will be available and you call to find out they don't have it. I have had previous issues with this pharmacy and spoke to the pharmacy manager who was going to meet to implement leadership and customer skills with them. My last and final attempt to fill a medication was yesterday, the technician yelled at me and then hung up. Take your prescriptions to Roosevelt or over to CVS at Sharon Heights where customer service is a top priority. read more

This pharmacy does not ever have a prescription ready when it should. DO NOT GO HERE. Go to any other Pharmacy near you. This place is a nightmare. Today there was one letter off in my name but my address and everything else was right. I was very sick and they made me sit there for two hours while they contacted my doctor. I probably got everyone else sick while I was waiting there. That pharmacist knew the prescription was for me. She was on a power trip. I'm not surprised I endured this because my experience was only par for the course at Woodside Plaza pharmacy. They must pay horribly and so they hire the people no one else will employ. read more

Went to pick up a prescription. Female person at the register said that there was nothing to pick up, there was nothing pending or was called in. I asked her to check since I was sure there was a prescription called in early in the morning, but she said there was nothing. Came back 10 mins later. Same person said it was not ready, and need to come back 30 minutes later because the pharmacist is at lunch. Another pharmacist was present, but said was not processing prescriptions at the time, and that the other pharmacist will need to do it. Will never fill a prescription at this location again. THEY TRY TO OVERRIDE YOUR MDs Prescriptions, don't answer their phone, close for Pharmacist breaks not on a set schedule. Have spotty text alerts for Prescriptions ready for pickup and insult you with their ignorance and wrong information about when they dispensed your medication even if you picked it up late. I went there during covid lockdown for finding sanitizer and new born products. The pharmacy manager, Nidhi was extremely helpful to help us with what we needed. She made all the effort to help me find everything quickly without me searching for stuffs in the isles, knowing I had a new born waiting at home. Really, I am a Walgreen's girl... This Rite Aid is okay but always seems a little dirty (can't fully place my finger on why...) and lacking in the highest quality products. I've picked up a prescription a couple times and made toilettry purchases several items. I would usually rather drive a little further to the downtown Menlo Park Walgreen's though... Still, this Rite Aid is convenient and should earn points for that. You can one-stop shop at Albertson's, Ross, Michael's, McWhorter's, Radio Shack, Wells Fargo, Pet Food Express, etc and enjoy tons of food options from pizza to Japanese to Chinese... everything you need is in the two nearby complexes! read more

We have been going to this store for over a decade. It has always been well stocked and has good sales. The employees are always cheerful and helpfu! Especially Linda! When I come in she always smiles and says welcome. And when leaving she always says have a good day! Being retired I don't get out much and think of her as an old friend. I am very impressed by their dedication in sticking with the job during the pandemic! Other stores are losing employees but not Rite Aid. read more

Every time I come here I get greeted so nicely - the staff and the manager are super nice. I can count on finding what I need here. I'm usually looking for cosmetics or hair products at Rite aid. They always have really great sales that bring me in. The manager is awesome and always makes sure I find what I am looking for. Their customer service here is spectacular. They even have an Amazon locker in the back of the store that always feels safe to head to and get packages from. Their pharmacy is patient and helpful as well. I really have no complaints about this location as I have consistently been able to find what I need while I'm here. The parking can be a little tough when you're here during busy times of the day, like lunch or right before dinnertime. It also seems like they're constantly stocking shelves, too, so they are at least on top of their game managing inventory. read more

This review is for the Pharmacy. Nihdi (forgive me if I have spelled her name incorrectly) is the Pharmacist here. She is one of those special people that makes the world around her better. She will go out of her way to make sure you get what you need. Heck, we aren't even there very often and she knows me and my families names. I've never felt loyalty to a pharmacy before..until now! I can't believe how much one person can make a difference in a store. Honestly I use to really dislike going in to get our families prescriptions. Came here because they still have flu shots. Now I see why. There is no line at the pharmacy counter but the pharmacists wouldn't look up and they let us wait for 30 minutes. Then we got a form. Then we waited for 15 minutes for them to take it back. We've now been here an hour and no flu shot yet. Avoid unless it's your only option. read more

This Rite Aid is no more than 3 blocks from my house so is very convenient in terms of going to/getting there. But the lines are always long- you can pretty much depend on spending a minimum of 5 minutes in line -and thats with only 2 people in front of you. I've had several instances that the reason for my lengthy line wait is because the checkers are either: 1) chit-chatting amongst themselves or with a customer with obviously no regard to the customers that are patiently waiting in a long line. 2) nearly arguing over an item that a (not in line) customer has questioned them about , such as its location in the store or the sale price on shelve not matching to what was rung up or told was the price. Most of the checkers are nice and I believe mean well but some come across quite close to having a condescending tone. Ugh.... customer service people!!!! Now my real issue. Why I decided to post this. Tonight was the third time in the last month that I have rushed over to be sure to get to this RiteAid before they close (signs note this would be at 10pm). First time I arrived at 9:50, Second Time at 9:52 and now to tonight, at 9:51. On Each of these times I have found the doors locked and could see a checker counting out their register. They had closed. They had closed EARLY! Does RiteAid's operational protocol condone closing the doors 8, 9 or 10 minutes early? I've worked in, managed and lead a corporate team that was all about retail and that wouldn't be acceptable by any of our standards. This is ridiculous....especially since I would have been in and out in less than 5 minutes, if there wasn't a line, so they'd still be able to close on time at 10. Ugh!!! read more

Just bought a gel for acne, brought it home thinking is correct medication, it was solution instead of gel, was suppose to be sealed, instead was completely open, it was prescribed by my dr so they don't take it back. I used coupon and still paid $42.00, I guess they watered it down since gel is not so watery. Watch out and open ur medication right front of them before you leave the store. I have called customer support and was told because it was prescribed medication there is nothing they can do. I have contacted their customer service and was told there is nothing they can do since it's a prescription medication. Obviously I will not use the water down medication. read more

As a very long time customer of this pharmacy I had previously left a very negative review when this pharmacy lost all their long time staff in a max exodus for unknown reasons last Fall. This happening for me during a time I personally was and continue to deal with a super stressful medical condition - a benign brain tumor amongst other chronic illnesses. My usual "patient manner" wasn't feeling all too patient at all making multiple trips to pick up meds often not ready despite ordering online through my Rite Aid app. I'm back to say this store now has a STELLAR pharmacist who I can tell worked many years not to "run a business" but to more importantly help people. This lovely, kind and very intelligent pharmacists name is Nidhi Dubey. A great pharmacist is the second and critical part of health care for us patients - if our doctors prescribe the correct medications and the pharmacy does not get them to you in a timely manner, huge gap in service is made. Not only does she fill my multitude of medications currently needed - she cares. She calls if there's any problem. Nidhi knows my name after a relatively short period of time and greets me warmly and with a smile and such kind eyes. To someone very ill - this means a great deal to me. Nidhi treats me as a real human being and cares about my well being. This is conveyed in her tone of voice and compassionate nature. In a time when MUCH is needed to fix our currently very broken medical system - I am deeply grateful to Nidhi Dubey for being MY pharmacist at Rite Aid Woodside Plaza. My husband really likes her too when he does pick ups of my prescriptions and he's not one to usually notice these nuances in care so that says a lot about Nidhi. Please do everything and anything on Rite Aids side of this equation to make her feel appreciated, supported and paid enough to live in this area. Personnel who are assets like this don't come often. I spent 15 years managing mid sized medical offices. The very last thing you want is constant staff turnover in such a customer centric environment. read more

Today while I was at this pharmacy, I witnessed something highly troubling on a number of levels. I was waiting in the pharmacy line at the designated distance to provide patient confidentiality so that I could purchase a behind the counter product for my father in law. From what was obviously an inadequate distance to provide confidentiality (Issue 1), I unintentionally overheard an exchange between the pharmacist and a patient's daughter that was grossly mishandled. The patient had come in with her daughter upset that her statin Rx had been filled at a dose 4x what the MD had prescribed. Originally giving the pharmacist the benefit of the doubt, the daughter had gone to the MD office to speak her peace with the physician about changing the dose of the medication without discussing it with them so they would be in the know. At this point in time, the physician checked the records and said that the ordered Rx had been the same strength as always and that the mistake had been made at the pharmacy level (Issue 2). So, the daughter (acting as the patient's advocate) approached the pharmacist and informed her of the situation. It was obvious the mistake had been made at Rite Aid. The patient had taken 4x the intended dose of medication for 2 days. The only correct thing that the pharmacist did in my opinion in this situation was ask if the doctor was aware of the error. There was no apology, concern in her voice for the patient, or inquiries as to how she was doing (Issue 3). Furthermore, the patient's daughter asked if the pharmacist could tell her who had filled the medication that day. The pharmacist wouldn't give her the name. She just said "the manager." This whole interaction lasted about 5 minutes, during which time both the pharmacist and the tech (the only 2 people manning the pharmacy) stood speaking with the patient and her daughter. The tech wasn't contributing to the interaction and was probably just too gobsmacked to help the next customer. I was not acknowledged until the patient and daughter walked off only marginally closer to gaining any sort of resolution from the situation (Issue 4). So, in review, I inappropriately overheard about this pharmacy error, inappropriately witnessed it being inappropriately handled, and also received no acknowledgment for waiting so long while being the second person in line. There was no effort to make the line move more efficiently during the situation (ha, maybe they were concerned that bringing the next customer up to the counter would allow them to overhear) either. All in all, I would not fill my prescriptions here and would recommend those Express Scripts customers leaving Walgreens to think twice before transferring their business to this pharmacy. Everybody makes mistakes (even pharmacies), but how you handle and take ownership of that mistake and CORRECT it is key. They really fell below the mark. Unacceptable. read more

Had Enough!!! Don't need another dam discount card tracking my purchases just to get a good price on a product. I needed Salteen Crackers the clerk said if I had a discount card the price went from 4.60 or so to 2.25 I do not want all this tracking of my purchases and if that is what it takes to fill out a form and carry another worthless card in my wallet Rite Aid just lost a customer. This is not the economy to be messing with your customers. Track your sales through your cash registers not another hassle in my wallet. read more
