It's noon on a Monday, lunch, by most people's standards, yet the hot food isn't ready??? What is the problem?

A gas station review can be just as sexy as a restaurant review--a car's GOTTA EAT too! So why not…read moresurprise your Civic or Suburban with a fancy evening at the Circle K? * CLEANEST GAS STATION BATHROOM EVER! The average disgusting gas station john usually has me p!ssed, but this marvel of sparkling chrome and porcelain will make you go "Holy sh!t!" * EXTRA STAR FOR THE BATHROOM * BEER CAVE!! A walk-in refrigerator full of BEEEEER. Their selection is mostly the popular American and Mexican brands, with a splattering of microbrews. It won't be your goto beer source by any means, it's just really fun to walk in there. * CHEAPISH GAS On par with Arco, Lil more than Costco. - Slight Negatives: No car wash, Average selection of food, no roller coaster. So yeah, not quite a 5-star experience (they'd need to have Free-Gas Wednesdays or the aforementioned roller coaster for that), but you'll definitely be fantasizing later about that amazing bathroom.

"They Put the Convenient in Convenience Store... And the Chicken? Well..."…read more Circle K isn't trying to be Buc-ee's, so don't walk in expecting artisan brisket or a full-blown road trip experience. This is more 7-Eleven energy--with slightly better lighting and a prayer that the chicken's still warm. The chicken? It's... fine. Crispy-ish. Salty. Juicy if you get lucky. Honestly, it's not wowing anybody--but here's the thing: you didn't stop at Circle K expecting a five-star meal. You stopped because it was there, it was fast, and something deep in your soul whispered "fried chicken now." It's kind of like Hooters. Let's be real--nobody went to Hooters for the wings. They were mid at best. But the vibe? Legendary. Boobs, beer, and bravado. Circle K has the same energy--except instead of cleavage and curly fries, you get fluorescent lights, energy drinks, and a hot case full of "sure, why not?" The chicken is the gas station equivalent of a push-up bra: a little lifted, a little dressed up, but you still know exactly what you're getting into. So no, it won't change your life. But it will get you back on the road with a full stomach, a little shame, and a story to tell. And really, isn't that what road snacks are all about?

This is the Chevron Gas Station at the corner of Veterans Blvd & Main Street in Redwood City, CA…read more It has a food mart, a carwash, a fairly spacious lot, and multiple islands (with one pump per island). It has a nice location on Veterans Blvd, just a few blocks from Kaiser Hospital. I was just here last week with my coworker. I got gas, some snacks and used the restroom. Sorry, I can't review the car wash. I'm guessing alot of the poor reviews are from car wash users. I have a tip for you: mechanical car washes that use rollers or brushes will leave swirls, streaks, and fine scratches on your paint. "Touchless car washes usually use harsh chemicals to clean your car, then use high pressure spraying to clean it off. If you're okay with all that, then there's no problem. The price of gas was about average for the SF Bay Area. I had to get mid-grade to offset some cheap gas I pumped the night before. I went inside to use the restroom. WOW! This restroom was super clean. It was like a showroom for bathroom fixtures. The food mart was clean too. It was well stocked with all the snacks, drinks, and candies. BTW, do you know why gas stations sell junk food? Very rarely do you see celery sticks and melon balls. Drivers are usually in a hurry. It's a fact that hungry drivers get tired faster, and you don't want to stop again do you? So it's a good idea to grab a drink and a snack for the road. Maybe something to wake you up. I'm sure you'll find something in this food mart. So, average gas prices, clean restroom, and well stocked food mart! Oh, and friendly service! The lady clerk was very friendly and joked about high prices on the snacks. Located between Jefferson & Main St, on Veterans Blvd.

When I did come back the code didn't work and the guy said it expired. I asked if there was an expiration date/notice. He said no. Had to go ask his manager. Came back and was asking me why I didn't use it the same day or the next day. None of their business! Life gets busy. He did an override. Then told me to make sure to use it the day I buy it. Easy solution, just won't buy there again.

Unfortunately, there were no Mexican convenience stores nearby so we hit up the closest thing, this hole in the wall convenience store next to a divey hotel. Everyone in there seemed to know the owner so there's definitely a cast of regulars. As I head over to the small freezer cabinet I notice that it's right next to the porn. Interesting placement. As I dig around I almost settle on a Klondike Ice Cream Sandwich but I notice that there's another item made by the same manufacturer. The Choco Taco. How fitting after I ate a lunch full of tacos. For $1.50 I get a taco made of waffle cone with a filling of vanilla ice cream topped with some sort of chocolate fudge sauce. As I look at the FDA label I realize I'm going to get heart failure if I eat any more than one of these. 55% of my saturated fat packed into 290 calories. Holy cow. I thought the cream based paletas were bad for me. This sure takes cake. So even though this place is a total dive, it gets stars for having weird ass ultra fattening ice cream treats.
