This pharmacy is an absolute mess. Everyone is working at a snails pace, with no urgency and is confused about everything. I came here to pick up a prescription at 6:00pm, waited in line for about 20 minutes, spoke to someone to pick up and when they tried to ring me up apparently all the amounts were wrong (so my insurance wouldn't cover anything). It was their fault for packaging that way so they go back to repackage and redo paperwork. They thought they fixed it and something else was wrong! They didn't work with me the entire time, they had me wait as they tried to make their way through more people in the line which is ridiculous - just focus on one person at a time. It is 7:10pm currently and I am still waiting while they try to multitask and work with other customers. It is unacceptable that I've been here for over an hour. read more

Terrible. Customer service is very poor. I tried to call the pharmacy but got stuck dealing with the "Virtual Assistant". I spent 20 minutes trying to get the damn thing to connect me to a human being in the pharmacy but finally by cursing at the computer, it connected me to a human being. The date I am commenting on was Wednesday, October 22nd at approximately 6:30 pm. I had just received a text indicating that a new prescription was ready. I went to the Sequoia Station Pharmacy and using the app I used the express pickup window option. There was a line of other customers as well, but my understanding was that the express window gave priority. I waited over 7 minutes while one of the red shirt assistants was serving multiple customers from the regular line. The wait was long enough that the express pickup code on the app expired. When the assistant was waving in the fourth person since I arrived, I asked if he was not doing the express window and he replied that he was serving those already waiting in line. This did not make any sense to me, as why then do you have an express window with signs saying to use the app to pick up faster. By now even more people had gotten into line so I wasn't going to waste more time by switching lines so I left and changed the pickup to my free home delivery option. My wife keeps her prescriptions at the San Carlos CVS and they do serve the express window properly. So my question is why did the worker say no when I asked for express service? Does Sequoia Station location follow different procedures? My observation was they are very disorganized at this location and I will be moving my standing prescriptions to another branch (or make them deliver to my home for free). read more

I have never experienced anything like this with a pharmacy. The fact that I have to travel to the CVS just to get an update on my prescription is ridiculous. I should be able to call the pharmacy and get the information I need. It is unacceptable that I have been waiting for my medication for over a week now and still have not received any updates. This level of unreliability and lack of communication is unacceptable. I highly recommend finding a different pharmacy, as my experience with CVS has been nothing but frustrating and time-consuming. Let's be real, the pharmacy is not the place that's going to spark joy.I just need the basics: get my prescriptions in a timely way and a clear consistent way to communicate when I need those prescriptions and something has gone awry. I don't need them to remember me or answer the phone on the second ring. Just prescriptions and communication. I can handle a 10 minute hold if everything works. For a couple of years it was totally adequate. Prescriptions ready on time and I'd call when something was different- a prescription cancelled or I need a refill because of an increased dose, that kind of thing. In about March of 2023 they suddenly stopped answering the phone. Completely. I literally waited 6 hours on hold and no one answered. I have called a couple of times a week now for about 12 weeks and no one has ever answered again. St first it was a necessity and then it became a curiosity: do they really not answer their phones? How do they stay in business? So we started going in to the pharmacy when we needed to communicate. And when we go in, there's inevitably someone in line in front of us complaining that they never answer the phone. At least we're not alone? Finally I called and left a complaint at corporate. They said, "you could just go down there." Yeah thanks. Super helpful. Yes I could go down there. But I have mobility issues and can't just take an a couple of hours from my day to pop down to the pharmacy to get a new medical device that broke (because about 40% of them are faulty which is a whole different review ) or tell them to not fill yet another medication because it makes me sick or that they shorted me an entire insulin pen (true story). If I have to go there instead of calling every time I need a med refilled and the app doesn't work I would never do anything else. This pharmacy has gone from adequate to disastrous in 3 months span. Don't go. You're taking your life in your hands. You're better off ripping up the prescription and lighting it on fire. Good luck! read more

Purchased items from CVS and had my " trusty" coupon with cash bonus to use as well as the monthly discount with the Care Plan. For some reason the gentleman at the register did not see the coupons on the counter in front of him, while he was checking my supplies out for payment. The items had to be returned and the transaction could have been cancelled/voided but that wasn't the case. Normal scenario...the items are returned, transaction is voided, and no charges show on your bank account with a deduction of funds for the transaction.... Simple enough. The cashier decided to credit me the items, reprocess the transaction with the discount coupons, and charge me again for the transaction. The initial transaction was never voided or cancelled. Therefore, I was charged twice for the same items and two transactions came out of my account. I was told the money from the initial transaction would be in my account in a few days.?? A little skeptical with all this and think a bit illegal. Not voiding transactions and then double charging, with account withdrawls doesn't seem legit. The store manager felt this was all justified... the transaction was handled appropriately and didn't see any problem with the double transaction, and that double money coming out of the personal account was ok. Also felt the need to threaten by saying legal action would be taken ... " We will sue". Way to go Tammy!! read more

The pharmacy line is long and slow, with usually only one checkout open. I think I have spent 30+ minutes in line on multiple occasions, and on top of that, once the technician did not ring up my store items, so I had to get into the main line where I waited even longer. The customer service is not friendly or slightly welcoming- no greeting, offer to help, and when they do say something, they seem to do the bare minimum and seem very unhappy to be there. Despite that, I still go back so I don't have to change pharmacies. Today I went in the store for 2 small items and when I got to the checkout, my Apple Pay was not working. The cashier was incredibly unhelpful, rude, and talked back when I was trying to figure out how to pay. In the end, he kicked me out of line so I could "figure it out" while he rang up the people in line behind me. Very unprofessional staff and unsafe COVID-19 protocol. A man came in without a mask, the staff did not stop him and did not provide him with a paper mask (which businesses are required to do if an individual walks in without a mask). So the man grabs a cloth mask, puts it on, and waits in line to pay for the mask. The manager (I assume) then comes out and proceeds to ask the man to take the mask off because he did not pay for it, even though he was in line to pay for the mask and the rest of his families items. The manager then continues to cause a scene, while there's a extremely long line of 8-10 people because all the other cashiers had then paused what they were doing because of the commotion. She then proceeded to tell the cashier that was supposed to ring them up to "not provide them service" because the man refused to take the mask off. The man and his family clearly explained that they were going to pay for it since he needed to have a mask on. The manager refused to let them pay for the mask, had the man give the mask back to her, and called the police. She wanted the man to stand in line (maskless) to pay for the mask to then use it in the store. Completely unprofessional and did not think about the safety of other customers and staff in the store. read more

I am a doctor that works in a local hospital. I called to ask a question regarding a personal prescription of mine. The pharmacist (or tech) was extremely rude. She did not know how to answer the question (which is totally fine). But for the love of God, LOSE THE ATTITUDE. She would never survive with that attitude in a hospital pharmacy. Take my advice as a healthcare provider and go to a different pharmacy. Do not trust this pharmacy with your health. Not singling out this store I've tried several CVS stores in Redwood City. The stores are clean, but not well stocked or locked up. Always a line at the pharmacy pickup. Company has not put any effort into streamlining the process in regards the check out process at Pharmacy. There is usually only one person at pickup unless the line gets past six to eight people. So I walk into this CVS. Lady at the register says "Hi!" I say "Hi!" back. I walk straight to the makeup section looking for a clear coat nail polish. I am the only one in or around the Revlon section. The lady at the register calls for "customer service at the Revlon station". I then walk over to the Loreal section. Again...I am the only one around that section. Now....she calls for "customer service at the Loreal section". So she's acting like I am gonna steal or something. The funny part is no one ever came. I think what she should have been calling for workers to clean up those nasty/empty aisles. The store is a mess......a huge mess. Clean up the store. Next time call for clean up. Zero stars. This is the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. My husband is a type 1 diabetic which means he is insulin dependent. He needs insulin and the proper supplies to survive. There is always a problem when I pick up his prescriptions. The doctor orders a certain prescription, and when I pick it up, it isn't what the doctor ordered. Some of the staff is extremely friendly, but others are very rude and apathetic. If you call, expect to be on hold for a very, very, very long time. Mistakes happen, of course! But how is it that there are so many mistakes and so many issues? Switching over to San Mateo Neighborhood Pharmacy and they deliver. The customer service there is already top notch. read more

Man I hate CVS. They keep putting my medications on auto-refill no matter how many times I ask them not to (the medications I'm on require that I get bloodwork done every six weeks to check dosage - and if my insurance thinks I've recently refilled, they won't process the dosage change and I get to pay out of pocket because I can't go without the meds.) The employees are either incredibly rude, incredibly incompetent or don't work there for very long. Refills are never available at the pick up time you specify, no matter how short or long the time you give them is. I miss Long's. read more
