He was absolutely right. After placing the order, I called to confirm it had been received. Xavier immediately located it and assured me that his team would have everything ready for pickup the following morning. The next day, I was greeted by Nikkie, who was expecting me and had my order ready to go. He patiently reviewed everything with me to ensure every item was correct. It was refreshing to work with someone who was knowledgeable about the products and genuinely skilled at customer service. Thank you, Nikkie! Because of the outstanding efforts of Xavier, Nikkie, and the entire team, our event went off without a hitch. After the event, I had a few unopened bottles to return. Normally, returns are something I dread, but employee Aaliyan made the process completely painless. She handled everything quickly, professionally, and with a smile. She was truly a pleasure to work with. From start to finish, the customer service at BevMo Redwood City was exceptional. In today's world, finding employees who genuinely care about helping customers is becoming increasingly rare, but this team delivered at every step. I might purchase alcohol here maybe once or twice a year. I went in today to get a bottle for someone as a gift. I heard one cashier ask a customer for their phone number at checkout. I was not asked for mine by my cashier. Didn't realize it until it was too late so that was my fault I guess but I feel like I got scammed out of $40 for not being offered the member price. I was treated awfully there. My sister and I went there we are both in our mid to late twenties. We were refused service and accused of potentially selling to minors for no reason. I honestly felt like it was racial profiling because we are both women of color and there was no reason to accuse us of trying to break the law when we are both of age and doing nothing wrong. I was also trying to provide ID which he refused to look at. It was especially weird because he helped me shop just to refuse service when I made it to the counter. Maybe he wanted to shop with me because he assumed a woman of color was up to no good and when I did nothing out of the ordinary wanted to try to public humiliate me at the counter. This place seems well stocked and even has a small section for snacks, foods, cups, etc. Their beer section also had a fair amount of local beers (which I wanted). This is a scamming store. Avoid Bevmo. They charge for delivery and never deliver. The order (see the document photo attached never showed up) Anisha Zepeda who introduced herself as a manager of the store failed to provide the delivery information by simply saying, "I don't know!" when I called. I called second time and that time she said, " The order is still in the store and was not picked up by the delivery person!" I asked, "are you saying that I am waiting at my client's house for the delivery for 1,5 hour and the order is still in the store? " She answered, "Yes!" I had to drive to the store to pick up the 2 K order for my client. I am a professional Event Planner and I was shocked at the zero knowledge from Alisha hot to manage a store. I had to.oick up the order myself. At the store I told Anisha that I am here to pick up the order that was not delivered. She ran away from me, got the huge cart with ready to go multiple boxes and headed to the parking lot. I had to chase her to ask about the delivery fee refund. She answered, "I don't know! Contact the customer support! " I asked what does she know and if she is a robot because she is treating people as a robot. She said she is a human that is trying to help me and she started to smile. DO NOT use this store EVER. The tall white dude with the beard in the red t-shirt working at the return counter refused to return a product in Redwood City that I had happened to have purchased only a couple of hours before in the San Mateo store. I was in a rush and I wish I had had the patience to ask his name and provided it to the corporate contacts. I must have disturbed him since he was on his phone and texting when I approached the counter. His claim was that the corporate policy was to return the product to the original store of purchase so manage their store inventory. When I asked him to provide me with the corporate contact, his response was "google it". I went back to the San Mateo store and returned the product there. I informed the store manager in San Mateo about the situation. I told her I never intend to use any Bevmo service again, in store or online. The manager at the San Mateo store was very professional and completed the transaction. I ended up making my purchase for another product at Safeway close by. I would recommend any of my friends and family to stop using Bevmo if they were asking for liquor/spirits purchases. Their new ID requirements are patently ridiculous, my wife and I (mid 50's) were in the Redwood city location on friday evening at about 6pm, ( we're there on a weekly basis and spend quite a lot of money) We did not have a basket but walked up to the counter carrying three items, they asked for ID, which I produced but they wanted my wife's ID also because "she had carried up one of the bottles", she did not have her ID with her, I honestly thought they were joking but nope, so i suggested I walk back to the shelf and grab another one myself but again, nope. And like others have mentioned in their reviews, the staff member was almost giddy with how powerful he felt in telling us "We would not be buying this particular bottle tonight". For very reasonable prices, they offer a huge selection of beer, wine, and hard alcohol. Also, they sell coffee/Italian soda flavor syrups in delicious sugar-free and regular varieties. I stopped by BevMo looking for Orange Crush in glass bottles as a gift for my dentist - weird right?! It's what he likes, and I wanted to thank him for being so awesome and showing up on his day off to help when I needed a root canal. I didn't shop around and found out later that the Orange Crush here is much cheaper than Lunardi's and significantly more expensive than K-Mart. The helpful BevMo staff showed me where it was quickly. It was convenient, so A-OK by me. Before I left, I picked up some Jameson Irish Whiskey for Mr. L for a special Irish Cold Remedy I learned from an Irish friend. It might've been a dollar or two more than it costs at Trader Joe's, but I was there already. After a long needed face lift, this BevMo looks more inviting with the new look. The old individual cash wrap stations are now behind one counter giving more space for power displays at the entrance. This small-scale BevMo definitely has a smaller selection of wines than the most, but they've got a good enough selection although not always consistent. Some of our favorites that aren't always available but do seem to return are the following: Orin Swift- Abstract, The Prisoner, Ryder Estate Pino Noir Rose and Dovovan Park Pino Noir Rose I am disappointed about one thing after the remodel though. They don't sell caviar here anymore! Def: Customer service is the act of taking care of the customer's needs by providing and delivering professional, helpful, high-quality service and assistance. Sounds simple enough. Especially if you're a manager. Sadly, excellent customer service is hard to come by. I placed an order online for pick-up at the Redwood City BevMo. The order processed on the Website successfully and I received a confirmation email with my purchase details. Several minutes later, I receive an email from Jess from the store stating "It looks like there was an error with your CC info. You may have missed a digit or typed an incorrect digit, but I can't tell from my end." That's odd. So I go check my bank account, and sure enough, the purchase was processed through the bank and Website and the funds were deducted from my account. So I decided to head over to the store to pick up my order where they again tell me that there was an issue with the order and that I will have to pay again. I tell the manager (?) who I can only assume is Jess, that the money was taken out of my account and that I can provide proof if she'd like. She didn't care. I comment that there must be something wrong with the BevMo system and she insists that there is nothing wrong with their system. I say okay, well then you'll have to refund my purchase to which she replies, "You will have to call your bank to have them reverse the charge. There is nothing I can do." "There is nothing I can do." Hmm, I'm sure there is SOMETHING you can do. Perhaps call someone at corporate to find out what happened or report the issue or ask what SHE can do to provide a happy customer experience. Provide some resolution as THE MANAGER instead of placing all the responsibility on the customer. So I leave the store empty-handed and call BevMo corporate where a helpful representative who understands how to provide excellent service says that the store manager should have called to report the issue in order to resolve the issue. At the end of the day, a manager should do whatever it takes to make the customer happy, and BevMo failed on all fronts. At least a little effort would be nice. So I'll be going to K&L Wines exclusively from now on. read more

Super helpful staff. They helped me figure out where the ciders were located far by the back wall, so I cleaned them out of their Magners Pear Cider. The location is a bit weird because it's at the intersection of a bunch of different streets, but there is an entrance off of El Camino. The parking lot isn't huge, but finding a spot was very easy as the turnover is pretty high; people are in and out very quickly. Staff was friendly, if not the brightest. I asked one of the sales girls if the BevMo card was 1 point for every $1 purchased and she said no...but it was actually clearly stated to be so on an advertisement at the register. Ordered on line. Never received email stating order was ready. Husband picks up and is loading up car and thinks the order looks light. The order was missing 4 out of 11 items! WTF? He goes back and they say they are out of stock. Did you want to wait until I got home to notice? And by the way, maybe some damn cycle counts would do Bevmo right. I have always had great interactions with the staff at this location during the many years of me dropping by for wine so I don't understand why there are negative reviews. The store is clean, nice, organized, has a great variety of drinks, and really friendly/ knowledgeable staff. For example: During a wine tasting - the person serving the wine helped us with pairing our wedding menu with fantastic wines at Bevmo and got it delivered to the villa the day before the event. She even had input from her friends which where also wine experts. This was an absolutely amazing experience! We were struggling with how to pair wines and which ones to buy. Everyone at the wedding had more than enough wine to go around and they thought we spent a fortune. It also was spot on with the pairings. I love this Bevmo and always go back. read more

So I stopped by today with my friend that happened to be 20 years old and I was getting a 24 pack of modelos and a bottle of Smirnoff I go up to the counter and the guy seems like he hates his life and the fact he has to ring me up rolled his eyes at me and everything and then he proceeds to ask for ID which I happily take out but my friend informs him that she's not of age so he's like I can't sell you anything bc she's underage to which I responded well I'm the one buying it so what's the issue and he said well she was walking around the store with you and talking about alcohol and I said well ok but I've came here before with my 13 year old niece to buy hard liquor even 3-4 bottles at a time and never had a problem and she was never asked for ID and they both look the same age wise and then he said well that's our policy I'm like ok so if she goes and waits in the car or I just come back later I can buy it then since she won't be with me in the store and he said nope I can't sell you anything anymore now or later and I was like ok so if she came in with me and stood with you here at the entrance by the registers it would've been fine since you said one of the problems was she walked around with me and he said nope still wouldn't sell it to you and I just proceeded to walk out. So my friend and I do this this thing every fall called 'Pumpkinfest: *enter year here____*', and it consists of me and her, with a zillion different pumpkin beers, a March madness-esque bracket system for scoring, and usually a pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin butter from Trader Joe's thrown in for good measure. It's not a billion dollar production and it's actually hardly even a fest, but it is a fun time, we usually get a pretty healthy buzz, and it's a tradition we'd like to keep going now that we're both on the West coast. The only unfortunate thing is that we've been in a bit of a pickle as far as finding a good selection of pumpkin beer out here goes. Do you not celebrate Pumpkinfest, California!?!?! I hit up 3 other really sad liquor stores and a brewery only to find the selection to be pretty close to zilch, before turning to to this BevMo, which I'd already decided was going to be my last stop no matter what the pumpkin beer outcome, before I reward myself with a Saturday mid-morning nap. I liked the layout and structure of the store, which made it easy to find the various sections I was planning to peruse, and I loved the center cheese cooler display because it reminded me that it was almost time for second breakfast. They had a pretty small selection of pumpkin beer and most of it came in 6-packs, which is just not how our variety of pumpkin fest rolls. We like to do bombers or single bottles so we can try more pumpkin beers and not get stuck with a whole pack of possibly stinker pumpkin beers should the drink not prove itself worthy enough to move on to the next bracket round. They did have a two pumpkin beers on their employee recommended display, so I got both of those because you can always trust people who work in the boozy beverage service industry, and they were pretty good, but neither was really very pumpkin-y and I couldn't see them moving beyond round 2, at best, in our pumpkin-fest 2014 gauntlet. There is a parking lot, so that made parking a cinch and the guy at the register was plenty helpful in getting me signed up for their members card so I can hopefully reap the benefits of my booze-buying in the future. read more
