Ridiculous! Called THREE times to get their fax number and the employee who answered put me on hold for more than 12 minutes! The third time I called I asked for a manager and Christie gave me the number I needed! No apologies where given at all. Every employee should know their contact information. This is a pharmacy and ,want it or not, you are dealing with patients care. Today I needed the fax number for a patients prescription and it is a shame that no one could help me. The only reason they have a star is because Yelp made me give them one. I came there. I don't really come to this one. My favorite one is the one in Venice. Since I was near by I said let me go in . First off, the cashier is nice she said good morning she had red and black braids, I believe. I went to the first aid area and got what I needed, then went to the detergent are so I am assuming people take from here because they have certain gain and tide locked up . That's the first thing I should have made me think and leave, but I didn't. So it said push for customer service first I'm disabled so my ability to walk around is very hard and to stand for long periods . I pushed waited 5 minutes again, so now it's ten min. I finally walked in the middle of the store to ask the cashier if they could request someone to help me she was very nice and did, and I waited, so now its 18 minutes waiting. I didn't have time . No one was coming. This is the worst rite aid I have been to. read more

Not sure why everyone is complaining so much. It's a rite-aid people! It's got parking which is great. Sure, they could hire an extra person since the line can get pretty long but overall the place does what it's supposed to do. GOOD NEWS: Was told this Rite Aid had a pharmacy in the back of the store. BAD NEWS: Inside, all I could find was a Comedy Club. GOOD NEWS: Comedy clubs are fun! BAD NEWS: It's the worst comedy club in the world and - assuming life in other galaxies - the entire known universe. Let's collectively call these irascible ladies the 'Not Ready For Prime Or Anytime Ever' Rite Aid Players since they're like a bottom barrel improv troupe who's comedy showcase space happens to be in a working pharmacy in the back of the Rite Aid store. My advice is to go into the experience from that point of view, which I think is theirs, too. Those chairs in the waiting area? Think of them as free front row seats to Santa Monica's alternative comedy scene! Watch the NRFPOAP cast deliberately delivering their snarky remarks and deadpan sarcasm! Crack up at how pathologically incompetent they carry out even the most pedestrian of tasks in the manner of a lethargic narcoleptic possessing the reasoning skills of a Great Dane in a garage door accident involving most of the cranium. Two of my favorite NRFPOAP cast members are the blonde white girl with glasses who sighs annoyingly before every response and the one who plays the older Armenian lady who does her schtick with the phone, although as far as her character goes, it's a bit of a stretch - even in a comedy bit - to believe someone responsible for medication dispense would not know how to use the simple functions on a phone and "accidentally" hang up on callers with such frequency. I would give this location negative stars and post red flags if I could. The PHARMACY at this location is unreliable, and I would advise people to go elsewhere. Some of the people working there do not know what they are doing and should probably not be dealing with medication. They gave me the wrong medication, which was totally different than my prescription. Had I not checked, it would have been detrimental since the medicine was for my child. If their job is to dispense medication, you would think that they would be careful about what they are doing. Mistakes can be dangerous. And when I asked about a certain vitamin, they said it did not exist, which is not the case since I purchased it elsewhere. I will definitely not be using this pharmacy again. Anytime I come here there's a line even at 7:30am!! Customer service leaves a lot to be desired from this Rite Aid store especially when the line is crazy long. This place is the pits. It truly is. The staff is so inattentive that sometimes I believe I am in the store all by myself. Like other Rite-Aids, the lay-out sucks. I only go there if I am in dire need of ice cream. I detest Rite-Aid and have since it took over Thrifty years ago. I was sad because I thought that would be the end of my favorite Thrifty ice cream. But I was WRONG. I'm not talking about the scoops, either. They sell ice cream in tubs at BARGAINS. I can get a 1/2 gallon of ice cream for around the same price as one scoop at Ben & Jerry's. And it's not that cheapo crappy fake ice cream you get at the supermarket, either. My favorites are Chocolate Malt Crunch and Pistachio Nut. And then it goes on sale! OMG. Heaven every time. I find myself wishing for a negative star-rating for this place. More than a year ago I decided to give this Rite Aid a try since they were on the way to work. Really, it's location is beyond convenient and It's convenient enough, that I'd stop nearly daily to pick up a drink, run small shopping errands, etc. That perception of convenience was, to my disappointment, flawed. My monthy prescriptions are almost never in-stock. Pharmacists either do not offer to re-stock their inventory or don't care to ask. So I go to Walgreens instead where they always have them ready to go. There never seems to be more than one cashier on duty. Just empty registers and one long as hell queue. I'm through. Not returning to this consistently understaffed, understocked, time-suck of a store again. read more

I needed a humidifier and saw one on google at Rite Aid for $24.49. I get to the store and their price is $36.99. They said the advertised price is the online price, which is different. Um, so $12 more to buy it in-store? REALLY bad business practice. No prob--I'm sure Walgreens will be happy to take my money. UPDATE: I called the 1-800 number for Rite Aid. They told me that's the online price and "I'm sorry but we don't price match." I said "Wait, you don't price match? The Rite Aid on Pico Blvd in Santa Monica may be fancy and remodeled now but they will make you feel like a criminal. Just sayin. And before I wrote this, I saw someone else complained about this same issue as well. I understand that there can be come crazies on Pico Blvd so the store has to be secure, but DAMN! I am furious! I was shopping for shampoo & placing my items in my reusable bag instead of one of their baskets. (I figure its cold & flu season and don't really want to use one of the germ ridden baskets. LOL) Anyway, I was then in the face wash aisle and when I noticed that 2 men were acting really suspicious. One kept looking over at me & then up at the security cameras & then would look over at the other man that was in the aisle across from us. So I was convinced they were scoping out the place, seeing where the security cameras where, or gonna do something to me. THAT is how uncomfortable it made me. So I called my fiance and my mother to let them know what was up in case something happened to me. Not trying to be overly dramatic, but I am serious when I say that they made me feel THAT scared. One was a large and tall African American and the other was a medium height Latino man. After I paid, I noticed the men were talking to other Rite Aid employees. So come to find out, they were plain clothes security pretending to shop. Its fine they were doing their job but to make me THAT uncomfortable was not okay. I had no idea they worked there! Therefore making me feel like I was going to become a victim of something if I walked out of the store. I even called my mother to come and pick me up because I was afraid to leave. It was just that creepy. So I complained to a female manager before I left. That was NOT okay. I guess they thought I was trying to steal because I was using my own bag instead of one of their baskets. So before I left, I got on the phone and spoke loudly so one of the men could hear me, about how uncomfortable I felt and that it was ridiculous how I was treated. Oh and if they are trying to be plain clothes security, they are NOT very good at it. They were being SOOOO obvious in their actions that they drew more attention to themselves then they should. When you are plain clothes security, you are supposed to blend into the background and watch people. NOT make people feel like they will be mugged when they leave the store. Piss off. I was not trying to steal $5 shampoo!! ::eye roll:: I ended up speaking with the district manager and he was VERY nice. Listened to me and was very sympathetic. He said he was going to speak to the location and even review the tapes if he has to. So thank you to him for being so nice. I told him that the training needed to be revamped there for security and that I would much rather them approached me and said something rather than stalk me and make me feel like I was going to be mugged by them once I left the store. Other than this experience, I like the new layout and the remodeling. That is the ONLY reason I gave them an extra star. But if you want to keep customers, you HAVE to be NICE. You have to be polite and most of all. NOT CREEPY! read more

Pharmacy: The pharmacy manger Laura goes above and beyond to help out, as do the pharm techs Herlinda and Dalia. Manny on the other hand is a nonsensical pharmacist who keeps one on hold without reason for minutes at a time and is bluntly rude. He hung up very abruptly after an already unsettling phone call and refused to tell me his name for some time. Occasionally, prescriptions are delayed and waiting times can be long. Suggestion is to be placed on auto refill if you're a regular to avoid waiting in the long line for refills. read more

This place is the worst the pharmacists are so rude . I tried calling in a prescription that a patient needed . I was on hold for a total of 90 minutes,when they would answer they either told me that the pharmacist was at lunch or brake . I asked if the person answering could take the message she said no and hung up. When the pharmacist did finally answer she stated had a line out the door to call back and hung up. Although they remodeled recently, I actually liked the simplicity of the old layout. That being said however, I am still a fan of this store. They always have what I need. They have a selection of homeopathic medicines. They sell Fisherman's Friend cough-drops. (Not many places do.) They are open late. They have an Aqua-vend water machine out front. There's lot's of fun make-up, nail polish and skin care items. I personally have never had to wait in line that long. They have a big parking lot. I think this places deserves more than one and a half stars. At least three. It's not as if the other drug stores in the area are doing something that much more amazing or better. read more

So I love rite aid ice cream... As a business, you have to fix any problems as soon as possible, correct? It's been 3 months and have wasted my gas and my time and the same sign, a paper sign is still there. That sign explains that there is a plumbing problem that doesn't allow ice cream to be placed. I seem to always have some type of issue with this pharmacy. This time I dropped my prescription off and the person sends me away to pick up later. Does not ask for any information, phone number etc. I come back (in pain from a root canal) 3 hours later only to find the prescription not ready because they couldn't find me. This is very irritating and inconsiderate to make customers wait until they come back expecting prescription to be ready only to discover there was an issue and nothing was done. How about checking system or getting phone number BEFORE letting the customer leave. Such a waste of everyone's time. Be better Rite aid Pharmacy. read more

I love the black cherry ice cream that Rite Aid sells; it's ridiculously cheap, sweet and tastes good! This review is for the Pharmacy, as the rest of the store appears to be adequate. On numerous occasions we have had our doctors and vets call in prescriptions and a majority of the time there is one problem or another. Most recently I came to pick up a prescription that had been called in 2 days earlier and of course Rite-Aid claims they never received. If you have been here before you probably experienced the same. I had to call my doctor and have them call it in again. Per my doctor, they informed me they attempted to call 6 times and each time either were put on hold and then hung up on. Finally on the 7th attempt they got through. You know it's a problem when your doctor suggests you find a new pharmacy! What a joke this place is. This will be my last visit to this store! read more

I called three times to makes sure my photo order went through as i did not receive any confirmation online. They kept me on hold for 10 minutes each time. And when i would call back - they kept saying they would transfer me to a manager who was no where to be located nor did they know of my calls. This is the western dental of pharmacy's, the one eyed disfigured ugly sister of the hot chick that you take out because it's "better than nothing".
