David is extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. Due to the shortage, I had to call 10+ pharmacies to ask about stock and many were rude. Not here though! I was expecting to pay more but was able to save quite a bit due to the generic which was greatly appreciated. I felt safe inside the store (you have to be buzzed in) and also that my privacy was important, it wasn't a crazy line of 15+ people like CVS or Rite Aid. Only tricky thing is getting into the plaza. I recommend getting onto eastbound Wilshire to be able to access the location.

Manager believes he is always right and accuses customers. Store is small and overstuffed. Takes many minutes to pickup a refill medication with desk workers, standing around while you wait.

That decision cost me, and I'm writing this because I think other customers, especially the elderly patients from the rehabilitation center next door, could be losing money here without ever knowing it. I filled two prescriptions. One should have been fully covered by my insurance. The other had a $25 copay. I was charged $55 total. I also wasn't told that a three-month prescription would be filled as a one-month partial supply, so I left thinking I had three months of medication when I had one. I only found out because I ran out early. I checked my prescription paperwork against my insurance's own coverage documents and found two things: the pharmacy hadn't billed my insurer at all for one prescription (despite my insurance's name being on the receipt), and had charged me for the other when it should have cost nothing. I called and emailed the pharmacy to sort it out. No response. So I went in person with printed insurance documents and my receipts because I figured there had been a simple mistake and they would fix it once they realized what happened. Instead I was told that they only ever give one month at a time regardless of what's prescribed, due to how their reimbursement works; second, that the extra charges were intentional, because they don't feel adequately reimbursed by my insurance company, so they believe it's appropriate charge the difference to patients without telling them. Because I didn't believe this was right to do, I contacted my insurance company and asked them to follow up directly. The pharmacy gave my insurer a different reason for the charge than the one I'd been given in person: they said I'd received a brand-name drug rather than the generic. That's not true. And I still have the package with their sticker on it, so it's pretty easy to prove it's not true. The fact that they blatantly lied to my insurance company about something so easily provable is wild. A pharmacy that contracts with an insurer agrees to specific rates. If a pharmacy believes those rates are too low, the recourse is to renegotiate or drop the contract, NOT to quietly collect extra money from patients who have no way of knowing they're being charged outside the agreed terms. I only caught this because a prescription quantity was visibly wrong. Most patients filling a routine prescription have no reason to cross-check their receipt against their insurance's coverage documents. Given this pharmacy's location next to a rehabilitation center, a meaningful share of its patients are elderly or in recovery; exactly the population least likely to notice or question a discrepancy like this. I'd encourage anyone who fills prescriptions here to check their receipts closely against what their insurance says they should owe.
