Beware of installers who will take it upon themselves to explore the rest of your house. The sale of my carpet went well. Installation was a problem. I was upstairs, my husband let in the crew and showed them where the work was. They tore up the existing carpet. I hadn't interacted with them. Clearly, they didn't know I was upstairs, because one of them men came through the door to our bedroom, walked through and then opened the door to our bathroom and then opened yet another door inside our bathroom to find me indisposed. I jumped up, threw on a robe and confronted the two men who were upstairs. Both denied opening any doors and walking through an area in which they weren't working (the whole master area is hardwood; there's no reason to explore). All men asked, denied doing it. I was told I'd have to call corporate and tell them my side of the story, as the men would have their own. The salesperson with whom I dealt had no idea who the crew members were that the company sent into my home. read more

I purchased flooring for my entire home from Brock Bauchman at Rite Rug. I made a really big mistake by hiring this company. I was not given a choice of size or color for the base and the sales person, Brock Bauchman, decided what I wanted. In addition, the base in the laminate floor areas was installed incorrectly. The base was not scored, but wrapped around corners and all puckered in my two bathrooms, utility room and kitchen. The transitions between carpet and vinyl was put in backwards and did not match. The transition in the foyer was cracked as it was installed over a screw. The old flooring is exposed as they never took the new flooring to the wall or covered it up with trim. It has been 90 days of trying to get them to come back to repair their mistakes, with no success. I went through three customer service people, an inspector, two installers and even sent the President of the company a letter. Even though, they kept telling me the materials were on order, the repairs never happened. In addition, they charged me $378 for removing a ceramic floor that was never removed and $150 for moving a a refrigerator two feet. They promised to refund the $378 for the ceramic floor which they never removed only they had to send someone to inspect. They never sent someone to inspect it. They did send a repair person. However, he left in a huff because he said he couldn't fix it. Numerous attempts to get this repaired has failed. I WOULD NEVER NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. BUYER BEWARE!! I would like to add that after 155 days, they did come back and repair my floors and Ron Dawson did a wonderful job. I can't thank him and Leona Spears, customer service, enough. Without their help, I would still be looking at hiring someone else to finish the job. I was due a refund of approximately $500 for services not provided. They charged me for removing an old floor and disconnecting the water line from my refrigerator which they did not do. In order to get a refund from them (only refunding the floor), I have to sign a gag order that I or any family member can not disparage any information about them or they can bring legal suit against me. They can keep MY $500 and I will stay out of jail and/or court. As I said before THINK REALLY HARD BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! I wished I had known before I did. read more

Overall mixed review for this RiteRug. The sales staff at the store were immensely helpful and worked with us to find the best carpet in our price range. The problem came with the apparent chasm between the sales and the install teams. We established an install day with them, but they would not give us an arrival time, not even a few hour long window of time. They came around 4pm on a Thursday and made quick work of the rooms, but left because they didn't have enough carpet to finish the stairs. I expected them to come out Friday morning to finish the job but they didn't come until Monday morning, which was the date the photographer was coming to take pictures for our listing. We had communicated our timeline from the beginning with the sales staff and they had made notes, since we were out of town for the actual install. On Friday and Saturday the sales team was unable to even get a call back from the install managers. Confusing experience, but alas our carpets install is complete and it looks good. read more

This company has to be THE WORST flooring provider I have ever encountered. We spent over 11k on flooring which included the moving of the furniture and the removal and reinstallation of the toilets in the bathroom. Well, the installers damaged the furniture, walls, and some networking equipment. They also did not reinstall the toilets. This was all at a time when the home was being prepared to go on the market. Their negligence and delays cost me money. I had to hire a different plumber to reinstall the toilets. They kept avoiding me at the store, email, and customer service phone calls for over a year until they were contacted by Ohio Attorney General's Office and the Better Business Bureau. Afterward, Rite Rug only offered to reimburse us for the plumbers but does not want to own up to the damage although a mountain of evidence is stacked against them. That's ok. Well, our attorneys are on the case. BY NO MEANS WILL I EVER RITE RUG AGAIN. This company sucks! They only care about money and not the quality and service that is expected from every good company. My social media followers know about this company now. Apparently, the folks at Wrong Rug are not well-versed in the area of risk management as I am. I hope they go out of business. read more

If, after reading this, you're foolish enough to purchase laminate flooring from Rite Rug, I suggest you examine your installation carefully. My floor was not installed properly and I didn't realize it until it was too late. There are even a couple places that my fingernail will fit in the cracks. No matter how hard I work, I cannot get it clean. I even purchased an electric scrubber and the floor still looks horrible. It's sad that I so looked forward to my new floor and it's disappointing that it looks dirty at all times. read more

Complete disaster. Please go someplace else for your flooring needs. Our job was left unfinished and two months later no one will respond to any of our calls or emails. 1. Shoe molding under the front door does not match. 2. There is a bump in the hallway that is about the size of a quarter an 1/8 of an inch above the floor. 3. The quarter round color was installed and does not match the baseboards. 4. Damages on the baseboards. 5. Left the doors off that were removed. 6. There is a large green board in the middle of the living room. 7. There are boards near the edge of the walls that were not sanded and are very rough. 8. We were disappointed to find a lot trash and cigarette butts in our front yard and front porch. 9. Damage to the walls in the laundry room where the wood was brought in. 10. The toilet was reinstalled and leaked leaving water damage to all of the floor in the bathroom. We have been without a bathroom for over two months. No one will return our calls to fix the floor after everything was already paid for. read more

Rite Rug installed LVP flooring in our basement. The concrete floor had low and uneven spots. Sales person, in an email, said that the install manager would fix them during the install. Well they didn't. I have a dip of 1/2 inch on my floor, and these guys laid the new floor right over the low spots. The Shaw product says the floor must be flat - 3/16 in 10'. I wonder how happy Shaw would be to know that these guys proudly install their floor wrong?The install manager, sales person and customer service person now say the unlevel spots would have been too hard to fix and since there are no signs of the floor falling apart they aren't going to do anything now. Wtf?!? However, Rite Rug install guidelines state if there are subfloor issues that the project would stop and a subcontractor would have to come in and fix the floors. It does not say Rite Rug will just install the floor on a subfloor that needs work. I can't believe they won't come back and address the problem. I understand mistakes happy. They should take accountability and either remove the floor, so I can get a professional to level the floor, then rite rug can reinstall the floor over a flat floor like it's supposed to be. read more

NO STAR RATING We wanted new kitchen flooring. Since we had carpet done before by Rite Rug, that's where we went. WHAT A MISTAKE. This was a large, expensive job. The salesman showed us what would be done. When the installers arrived, they said we didn't need the sealer on our ceramic. The new floor is "luxury vinyl " which goes on top. After they left, I called the store for a refund of about $650 for the sealer. They freaked and said the floor needed it. They would be back to take it up and re-install That was the end of October. It is now mid-December. After MANY calls to try to find out what they were doing, I finally got ahold of someone on 12/9. They said they could do the job yesterday, 12/11. The installers did not know what they were supposed to do when they arrived. Finally they finished. However, they re-used the quarter round and have left big holes, nails and gouges in it. I sit, once again, wondering if I will hear back from them about replacing (AGAIN) the quarter round. This has been a botched job that has taken currently over 1-1/2 months AND WHO KNOWS WHEN IT WILL BE CORRECTED. read more

Terrible customer service. I scheduled an appointment with them and it was never confirmed as promised, then the guy shows up at my house to do the estimate. Okay fine, let's see what they say. It then takes two weeks of trying to call and email this guy to get a number for the quote with some details. We purchased new indoor/outdoor carpet for our sunroom project from Jim Boals (while he was at the Sawmill Rd location). He was amazing! He was helping other customers as we arrived at the store and still took the time to greet us as we walked in. He made sure to politely break away from those other customers to get us pointed in the right direction to begin looking at samples while he wrapped up. Once we got to work with Jim it was great. He hew what we were looking for and did his best to find a product that met out needs. He not only found us the perfect product for our room design, but he made she we had the best padding/underlayment needed for our application within our budget. We also got a fantastic follow up call from Jim after everything was done to make sure that we were happy, everything was completed to our liking, and that the staff was the best they could be. I'm beyond pissed with the lack of customer service skills this company has shown me after paying over $6000 dollars in material and installation. I complained back in September about my floor and stairs and here we are in December and I'm still with a bad installation after they have been to my home three times. The customer service manager lacks skills of calling a customer back after asking to speak to a manager at this point we are three months into a bad install. The install manager came out and told me over two months ago he didn't know what we were going to do with the floor and stairs. Two times people has came to try to clean them as if I didn't try this before contacting them! You can put coins in between my boards! You can see black marks all on the white part of the stairs! Just horrible work and horrible customer service skills! I have asked for a refund but the customer service rep keeps telling me what her manager said! I'm sorry that the rep is the middle man and I'm tired of talking to a person who can't do nothing to solve a three month issue!!! I called last Friday and waited until exactly this Friday with no call back so I called and spoke with little Jocelynn who can't resolve nothing while Dorothy sits behind her desk not calling a dissatisfied customer back who spent over $6000. Kevin was not pushy at all and left the decision making to us, he just helped to point us in the right direction. Have had a horrible experience with this company. I went in and picked out a remnant on my own. Did not ask for any help or ask any questions. I simply needed someone to write up my order and ring me out. I called a salesman over by the name of Homer. He seemed very irritated to be bothered. I felt like I was making him do something he didn't want to be doing so, I tried to be nice and make it as painless as possible so that he could get back to doing nothing and getting paid for it. I showed him the remnant I wanted, gave him the size I needed and let him know that I would need the ends binded so that I could use it is a rug in my living room. He wrote out the ticket carelessly and got the cost wrong several times. I carefully tried to correct him without offending him but he wasn't having it so, I let him work it out on his own. Once he finally got it correct he handed me the ticket and told me to take it to the cashier to ring out. I noticed that he hadn't actually transferred the size that I wanted on to the order ticket. I pointed that out to him and he immediately said don't worry, I will remember it. I politely declined to accept that as an answer and asked him to please write it on the ticket. He did so, with an attitude of course. He told me the rug would be ready in just a few days and that at the latest o would be able to pick it up at the end of the week. About 5 days. I went and paid for my order, IN FULL and proceeded to wait my 5 days. It came and past and about a week later I decided to call and see what was going on. To my surprise, rite rug had no record of my order. Luckily I was able to remember the name of salesman and was put in contact with him. He also did not recall my order but after a couple days of waiting he called me back to tell me that it was lost during the binding period and never got done. I would need to wait a couple more days for the rug to be finished. So, I waited, called back a couple days later because apparently once you pay in full they do not feel obligated to contact you about getting you the product you paid for. Again, no one could find my order. This time I talked to a person at the warehouse who informed me that the order was never turned in to them to cut and bind the carpet and actually threw Homer under the bus. They said they have never received the order and that Homer had never turned it in. The same guy that was going to just "remember my measurements" never even turned my order in. I spoke with Homer once again, he became angry and told me he would have it done in two days. No ifs ands or buts about it. I said Ok, I'll wait 2 more days. That was week ago. I called today, Homer was not available and my rug was not available to be picked, that was all the information that had for me at this time and would have to call me back. Told them no thank you and to please refund my card immediately. They also would have to have someone call me back in order to that as well. The absolute worst purchasing experience I have had in my entire life. Unfortunately, you still have to provide at least 1 star. So here's your star guys, you've earned it. read more
