I always stop by ritual when in Napa to get some good coffee. I'm not one to stray from my basic latte, but the seasonal menu had me curious. I ordered the 'SPROMONI latte - (a take on the Italian classic with pistachio syrup, espresso, and cherry whipped cream Concocted by Colleen at the Roastery). Do yourself a favor and get this!!! I truly had no idea what to expect but this drink was an experience. Drinking it feels like you walked into a 1960's ice cream shop and ordered a classic sundae. I am a coffee brat and have toured coffee shops all over San Francisco/So cal/ Portland, Oregon etc and this is probably my top 3 drinks that I have tried and I have tried a lot of unique lattes! The pistachio syrup was a unique twist but the drink still tastes like coffee/espresso. I LOVE the classic spin to this latte. It's not overdone, it's not too sweet and it still feels like it compliments a latte and coffee well! Compliments to Colleen at the Roastery who created this special drink. They had two pour over options and the barista recommended the EVIN MORENO PACAS, HONDURAS. I really enjoyed this one black! This location also has a fun looking experimental coffee bar named "The Cup and Star" but it's only open 8:30am - 2:30pm so both times we visited, it wasn't open. Boo. read more

Finally tried the famous Ritual Coffee Roasters and I'm quite impressed. As a non-coffee drinker, it's always hard to find coffee shops that actually offer more than just plain tea and hot chocolate. I mean... I am going to a coffee shop and ordering something other than their signature, so it makes sense as to why most coffee shops don't offer much outside of that. However, I always appreciate when I can find a coffee shop that has some variety. This Ritual Coffee Roasters outpost in located in the bustling Oxbow Public Market. I stopped here for a morning pick me up before heading to a wine tasting in Napa. Their kiosk is located on the northern end of the market. There was a line when I walked in, but luckily it moved pretty quickly. I immediately noticed their tea/botanicals menu and their seasonal menu. Lot of great tea options here! I almost went with something for their tea menu, but then I noticed their seasonal chai cider and I knew that I had to have it. Chai and apple cider are two of my favorite things to drink. And mixing them together? Ooooh, it was fiyaaaaahhh! Loved the taste of this concoction so much. It was the perfect warm-me-up kinda drink. Their kiosk is located right next to the communal dining area, so lots of seating available. Unfortunately, all of those spots were taken once I grabbed my seat. Luckily, Ritual has a small bar area with a few seats that overlook their back counter. You can sit there and watch the baristas preparing the drinks. It was kind of neat to watch them executing their craft. I should also mention that all of the staff members were working hard and were also very friendly. I can't really comment on the coffee since I haven't tried it, but my experience with their chai cider is awesome. I will definitely get this again if I see it back on their seasonal drink menu. read more

Probably one of the best coffee around here. This place is a "must have" when we're in the area. I usually get just the house blend and my wife gets the latte with almond milk. Their coffee is made to perfection. For me, I'll add some half and half (optional) to make it more creamy. It's not burnt and has a smooth flavor. Probably one of my favorite coffee shops in Napa! Located inside Oxbow Marketplace so while you shop or browse around, I definitely recommend grabbing a cup of Ritual! You won't regret it! Their spot is sort of in the middle towards the back, but you won't miss it! You'll probably notice their pretty bright red cups or smell the aroma of their coffee beans! My go-to is their Mocha Latte with soy milk! Depending on my mood, I get iced or hot. If I were to choose one... hot! The mocha is sooo rich in flavor! They also have baked goods, too. No vanilla syrups. The price of a croissant was astronomical! And the vibe was really kinda ho him. It's sort attitude " We only serve a cappuccino the correct way, and we're here to let you know those flavors have no place in our store. But wow, that croissant was expensive beyond belief. So what did I do?! I bought the croissant. I was just curious to see what would justify the price. Now, I live part time in Europe where the bread and croissants are a religion. Serve a bad pastry and you'll be arrested for assault and bakery! I've eaten just about every kind of croissant in every place you can imagine. There was nothing about this croissant to recommend it. And they wouldn't even warm it up! I can't remember the exact price but I remember the sting of it. And the croissant was waaaay too crispy. Crumbs all over the place from a crumby croissant and an over extracted espresso. I was kind of mad about it. My first Mr. Curmudgeon review. I hate having to do this but dang it. The BEST coffee in all of Napa, their coffee is better than Bouchon. A small San Francisco franchise, the only other ones you will find are in SF. They roast their own beans, sell them wholesale, and operate cafes like Blue Bottle. They care a lot about their products and put a lot of love and research into their process to make you a perfect cup. A place like this will remind you it's all about technique, timing, and temperature. You can buy the exact beans they are using and it won't taste as good. Their cappuccinos, amazing! Just thinking about it now I'm fantasizing about our next trip just to drink it again. Peanut butter cookie we got w/ it was also excellent and very tasty. I don't remember the specific names of the coffee or tea my parents had, but they were beyond satisfied with their bevs. What truly made the experience memorable was the staff, they were so friendly and passionate, and very grateful for their tip. They didn't rush to make our cups, but you could see their enjoyment in making them. The next thing we'll try are their beans, which are available in regular and decaf. (Update; after my nephew felt super embarrassed. I went to have a chat, the blue haired girl had the audacity to stand smirking unbothered. Manager was kind to speak to me but giving the excuse of an adult pulling the shoulder of a minor to tell him "don't record us, making us uncomfortable.NeVEr CoMe bAcK." An apology would've been good from her but here I am needing to apologize for being Muslims. But blue Haired girl bravo for that smirk for stepping up to a Minor at least? Their coffee game is on point! and for that reason, we came here again as we were leaving the city. Both times I had a latte, one dance - pecan praline and the other basic and they were about the same to me. Good! I have to say that this coffee/latte spot was better than Peets! And that's a lot for us. My husband and I liked the lattes, they were out of chocolate (but I don't blame them). Watching the people work together behind the scenes was also pretty cool. This is a place to come for very good coffee. Coffee that I don't regret drinking. And we will come back upon our next trip to this area. read more

I cannot start my day without a coffee and it was already 12pm when I walked up to Ritual in the middle of a busy Sunday afternoon. The coffee has been super hyped up and k was so ready. I picked out a delicious sounding option off the specials and got ready.... To find out they were out! (Must have been good!) I tried to order a iced white chocolate mocha and they offered me a plain iced mocha (which is usually fine!) but this was the worst tasting mocha I have ever had in my life. Super bitter and $9 for one small sized coffee. I asked for whipped cream and they don't offer that, I also asked for cinnamon but they do not offer that either. Plus the staff was very unfriendly, and they don't announce names or drink names once the drink is ready. Not a great experience and will not be back. read more

Quite actually the very best coffee in Napa and the pioneers of 3rd Wave Specialty Coffee. Among the best in the SF BA, therefore among the best in the world. Ritual's espressos are spectacularly bright, thoughtful, and flavorful, while their pour overs are nuanced, unique, and delicious. Most of their coffee is sourced from small specialty farmers and coops and many w whom they've worked for many years. My fave is an oatmilk cortado, I'll get a double espresso or pour over frequently as well. read more

Maybe I was dehydrated. Maybe I was hot and exhausted from walking around downtown all day after a winery tour. But I remember how I felt when I ordered a latte here: wow, this must be one of the best lattes I've ever had. Located right in the center of Oxbow, this spot it's hard to miss as you walk by and smell the coffee grounds. I was fortunate that I was able to order 10 minutes before closing, and I saw that the barista's were taking orders up until the last minute too. I added a bit of simple syrup to my iced latte. The ratio of milk to espresso was perfect. It tasted amazing. Service was exceptional. The barista's were so friendly and even saying as they gave my order. There is syrup, stir sticks, napkins, and other things you may need on the side of the ordering bar. This is one of many great things to get at Oxbow. I recommend you get an espresso drink to bring you back to life after your mid-day winery buzz. God knows it helped me. read more

Depth of the mocha is unique. If you're into sweeter drinks, this isn't it but if you want to really taste the roast, this is definitely your jam. All the pastries they carry are from local bakeries so I had to try the Apple crisp. Different from any pastry I've had, it has apple pie filling in what feels like fried pie dough. Cute coffee spot that is always busy located in Oxbow market. They have different brews from different regions. And so far I really enjoyed their special which is called Harvest moon. It's a spiced and bold flavored latte topped with some Black Sea salt. I always love the contrast of slightly sweet and salty. And their brewed Honduras coffee is so good as well! I almost wanted to order an extra one just to sip on for the rest of the day. I love coffee and this place is definitely a treat with their bold, delicious flavors.
