My husband (who is trying to buy my love) thought it'd be a good idea to get me a gift account there for $275 (I don't do salons, live 1.5hrs south of Billings, he works out of state, and i have 2 small kids to care for). I called and asked that the money be refunded because I wouldn't be able to use it because of the reasons listed above and was told its against company policy to give refunds. I used them for cut, color and waxing. I recommend the waxing...Daisha is very good and professional. But beware, her schedule is packed. I had a guy for the cut and he was excellent. Listened well and knew how to modify a style to fit a face. I wish I could remember his name. He was a senior stylist. I really recommend him. I recently had Lee for color and while she did a great job on the mechanics of the coloring, she didn't listen to my wishes and colored the hair based on what she thought I should want instead. As such, it was way too dark. If you have her, I would really recommend bringing some pictures in of the exact color you want so there are no miscommunications. The three stars have to do with the prices. For Billings, this is the top of the bunch, but relatively they're very expensive. read more

I am highly disappointed in this salon! I went in and paid over $200.00 for highlights on long hair, including tip. I went in with very healthy hair and left there with my hair completely destroyed. I called them back and they said they would make it right. They did not, they offered me 1 protein treatment and told me, sorry you'll have to pay to get all the damaged hair cut off and for the protein treatments you'll need going forward to repair the hair that is left. My hair is down to the middle of my back. I am heartbroken and so insulted by their lack of character to correct the mistake they clearly made. I showed them before and after pictures to prove I had very healthy hair. They responded it must be hard to have had your hair destroyed and showed me more products to purchase. I have been going to Aveda salons for over 20 years, we just moved here and this was my second highlight at this salon. I have never had my hair destroyed from an Aveda salon, this salon is Aveda in name only. They do not stand behind their product or their customer! read more

Had a birthday spa package set up for myself on the tuesday after labor day weekend. My husband fell and broke his ankle on the sunday before. I couldn't call to cancel/reschedule as they were closed that day and on monday. I asked if my $135 deposit money could be applied to another day as I need to get my husband to his doctors appt to get surgery on his ankle and they didn't care....its their policy that they need 48 hours or they get to keep the $135 deposit. I understand the point of the policy for normal circumstances but this is not normal and is NOT OK to charge someone the deposit when all they want is to schedule for a different day because of an emergency. Will not be going to this salon ever again and will make sure my family and friends don't either! read more

It's hard for me to post this review as a 3-Star because all the massage therapists have been amazing, especially Heather, Jeani and Kayla. But the last time I was in, it was filthy. To the point where it grossed me out. All flooring needs updated and the exposed pipes are leaking. The toilets were disgusting and had pee and filth all around from the seats to the floor. Even the sandals I wore before the massage felt slimy. I used to love the spa experience here but it's really going downhill. And that makes me sad. read more

Amazing stylists, color experts, and atmosphere. I used to always go to the other Aveda spa in town but found the prices too high. Rituals has great prices with an incredible spa experience. Every time I go I get offered a beverage the moment I check in and refills the moment my cup is empty. I have never had a bad cut or color here, which is saying a LOT! They always give me a hand massage while I process and scalp massage when rinsing my hair. I would recommend this spa to anyone! read more

I took my friend's daughter for a mani/pedi for her 18th birthday (her 1st) and they were incredible to her. She was unsure of what she wanted to do and they worked patiently with her. I've been to Rituals for facials and pedicures. It seems like the place has gone downhill. We went in for some pre-holiday pedicures and were shocked at how bad they were. Two of the nail artists doing our pedicures were super unprofessional, both in appearance and performance. They kept making sexual jokes, throwing things at each other, and complaining about their jobs. They left us sitting with parafin on our feet for 25 minutes. It was super cold by the time they returned. They didn't bother to refresh our drinks. The pedicures they gave us were rushed and sub-par. I'm shocked they don't do a better job of screening their staff. read more

I have been to Rituals before and I was so disappointed at my last experience. It seems like they go through staff so quickly and the new staff is inexperienced and unprofessional. I had a color, cut and eyebrow wax and I wasn't satisfied with any of it. The stylist looked like she just got out of bed and didn't even bother to do her hair or makeup. After a mediocre color, she didn't bother to dry my hair all of the way or even style it. I voiced my concerns to the manager after paying $100+ for all of it. She simply suggested that next time I get a "top" stylist that costs more. What?? Why wasn't I told that I was getting a mediocre stylist when I called to make my appointment. Needless to say, I will not be returning to Rituals to have any stylist at all. read more

I scheduled an appointment for a balayage color and cut. I was extremely nervous as I haven't colored my hair in 12 years. I showed Carley a couple pictures and off she went to mix the color. She reassured me it would be subtle and I'd love it. I absolutely love it! She was so nice walking me through exactly what she was doing too! Highly recommend her. Tried to schedule appointments through their website, no one contacted me. Next day I called and had to leave a message as no one answered my call. Then I had to call back AGAIN 2 hours later as no one had called me from my email or my voicemail. No more massage appointments available by the time I actually talk to someone. I settled for an aqua polish salt scrub that turned out to be a half body scrub as she barely went above my knees and only did half my back. No thighs, no stomach...what the heck?? It's almost swimsuit season!!! Then came the WORST pedicure and the WORST polish job I have ever gotten!! I mentioned as I checked out as I was so upset and was given $10 off my 2 services. I'm gonna go use that 20 bucks for a polish change somewhere else!! So disappointed. And I am an out of town repeat client!! My friends and I won't be back. I was looking for a new stylist and decided to try Rituals. When I got there I found out my stylist's name was Andrew. He offered me a complimentary scalp massage which was great.....probably the only good experience I had there!. I told Andrew what I wanted, a simple hair cut to even out my hair. When I left I was almost in tears because the cut was horrible and the product he used made my head itch! I ended up going some place else to try and have it fixed! I went here for a pedicure. The pedicure was ok, but not worth the money At check out there was a miscommunication on what service was booked. Rituals booked us for a more expensive peducure than what we had requested. We refused to pay the difference as it was not what we booked and we did not know by the pedicure given it was an upgrated pedicare. The next day a phone call was recieved from the owner. Basically accusing us of lying about the upgrade and wanting the difference in price paid. Owner stated she doesnt see how the mistake could of been made in the scheduling as the girl who did it was her "trainer" Poor customer service, communication between employees, and management. Would NOT ever go back, nor would I recommend it to anyone. read more

What ever you do -- do not buy the specials they have on Living Social. We bought 3. The first we took the mani/pedi and it was a very poor job. Nail polish chipped off with ONE day. Then we scheduled a facial. Had to go out one month to get an appointment together and also had to give them our LS voucher numbers. Day of appointment KIDS were sick. Called first thing in AM to cancell and reschedule but they said they had already redemed our vouchers and there was nothing they could do. Rules state you have to give them 24 hours notice. GUESS I will have to infor our kids that they can't get sick unless they give me 24 hours notice. Rituals got paid our voucher money though!! read more

I visited Rituals Day Spa on 04/20/12, and overall was pleased with the service. The steam room was nice to sit in before my massage, which was great. My only suggestion would be for the spa to get some proper pedicure chairs instead of the bench they currently use. The staff was knowledgeable and did a great job. read more

Have been to this salon to purchase products and got a few pedicures. The pedicures leave something to be desired, and the staff is unknowledgeable. Better off doing it myself at home! Also, don't buy your products here. They will not exchange or give store credit. I bought some tinted moisturizer, used it once and it severely irritated my skin! Gave me some shit about it classifying as make-up so its unreturnable. $30 bucks in the garbage and now I look like shit. I have spent hundreds of dollars there, and am a pure privileges member. Inconsiderate management after a poor experience. My wife got a pedicure that resulted in a cut on her foot. She contacted the business and she didn't even get an apology. When you are paying $50 for a "spa experience" and you leave with a cut, it is UNACCEPTABLE to not offer money back or ask the customer what they would like you to do about it. Any good business owner would have felt horrible and done something for a customer that left with a wound. Rituals is lucky it didn't get infected. Another business where greed and selfishness has taken over. Employees make mistakes, but it is managements job to deal with it in a caring and just way. Also, when I bought the gift card for my wife, very RUDE customer service. All around, a disappointing experience and waste of money. read more
